Hello Smile Room for one more? I'm currently 9+2 with our second baby. It's my fourth pregnancy though as I had two early MC earlier in the year, so I'm super nervous about this one. But tentatively daring to believe all will be well after having an early scan last week, and having lots of symptoms - total exhaustion, weird food cravings and lots of nausea. Hope you are all well, looking forward to being part of your lovely thread!

Dirtycat · 17/11/2015 18:09

All the best to those of you having scans. I'm 9+2 today and saw what looked like a rather big bean kicking its little legs about a couple of days ago.

Just wondered whether anyone else has got a MASSIVE belly?! This is my second, and I don't remember anything like this until about 20 weeks last time. My normal clothes are long gone and I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to hide it for another three weeks. It is very, very obvious. I guess it doesn't help that I'm eating about ten times a day to keep the nausea at bay, but still!

Hipotle · 17/11/2015 18:11

PS Dirtycat, yes, I already feel like I have a big old bump!!! Crazy!

Betty79 · 17/11/2015 18:28

Great news on the scans dolly and miraclesSmile**

Good luck with your scan Emma, I'm 9+4 today too!

I think I'm getting a bit of a bump now too, having to pick clothes more carefully as I don't like things being too tight round my abdomen. Luckily I wear a lot of dresses with leggings underneath for work so can hide it quite easily. Can't wait till I can tell my work colleagues!

I'm another one craving junk and salty foods, although I'm also loving oranges and orange juice which I don't normally drink.

GrubbyWindows · 17/11/2015 18:37

Oh dolly I'm so glad! My phone wasn't refreshing properly so I was on tenterhooks all afternoon...

miracles congratulations!!!!! Discharged- that is such a fantastic milestone!

I'm feeling pretty bumpy, it's not obvious yet, but none of my trousers fit anymore, and only one skirt. I'm still breastfeeding a bit, and all the clothes I wore last time are dresses which would involve stripping naked for any milk action, not practical! Just ordered some dungarees, hopefully won't look too absurd. I worked from home today and skyped into a meeting... Nobody could see my pj bottoms ha!

GrubbyWindows · 17/11/2015 18:38

Ps welcome hipotle!

mrsmugoo · 17/11/2015 18:40

I get a bit of an evening bump but it's gone by morning!

I started showing by 16 weeks last time so I expect it'll be 12/13 this time although I do have a bit of a flabby tum still despite losing 2 stone to get back to my pre- pregnancy weight this year.

MollieRos · 17/11/2015 19:03

My belly is definitely a lot bigger, but I'm not sure if people other than me and my DH can really tell. I'm usually quite skinny so I really notice. Plus I can't fit into any of my jeans any more and am just in dresses, so definitely a bit of a belly on me! Though I expect it's just bloat really. People that have already had babies, when did your bumps first start to show?

Welcome Hipotle!

kezod · 17/11/2015 19:14

welcome Hipotle

I'm feeling distinctly unpregnant over the last week, my nausea/sickness has completely disappeared as has my tiredness. I'm now worried its all over, despite seeing a little heart a week and half ago!
The specialist has asked to see us in a week and I'm terrified that there wont be anything wriggling around in there. I appreciate this is probably my hormones going crazy, but I just can't shake that feeling...

TattedPixie · 17/11/2015 19:19

Dolly, don't think I've got a scan tomorrow, unless that's the normal procedure. I've got the strange cravings too. Salty things, sweets and Apple juice. I think it's more anything that will curb my nausea

Louise34567 · 17/11/2015 19:19

Welcome hipotie!

kezod I wouldn't worry; I've heard our bodies can get used to certain hormone phases sometimes - hence having a period of no symptoms, followed by symptoms coming back again when the hormones imbalance again. If that makes sense!

Betty79 · 17/11/2015 19:35

Kezod I've been feeling a lot less nauseous this week, how far are you? I've read this is normal around 9 weeks so I'm sure it's just our bodies getting used to things.

Rose2806 · 17/11/2015 19:54

Yay congrats dolly and miracles on your scans!

Welcome hipotle Smile*

Kezod I* wouldn't worry too much either, I had a while with no symptoms then they came back and hit me again harder than ever!

I've hit 9 weeks today which feels like quite a milestone, haven't been as nauseous and have got a lot more done, I was useless yesterday!

I have been having some twinging/just a general uncomfortable feeling on one side when I turn over in bed/cough etc, but it's not getting any worse and I know I have a cyst on that side from where I ovulated and the pregnancy is definitely not ectopic. 2 weeks ago when I was 7+1 the cyst measured 2cm, I'm not sure if I should be having it monitored more? I know they're quite common and usually harmless but can also burst or become huge, does anyone know if that can be dangerous? Dr Google isn't helping much lol.

On the subject of cravings.. Whoever was eating a scone the other day, I had to go and buy some after reading that! DH always says I'm very impressionable...

mrslewis2015 · 17/11/2015 19:58

Congratulations on your good scans dolly and miracles! Great news!

kezod must be a bit alarming, but I'm sure it's all normal! Maybe give your midwife a call to put your mind at rest, but try and enjoy the lack of nausea!

I had my booking in this afternoon, my midwife is lovely, took loads of blood and asked a million questions, she's also referred me for an early scan because of my cramping and tiny amounts of spotting, I didn't expect her to, but I'm quite glad (even if I'm a bit nervous) to see how things are ticking along!

mrslewis2015 · 17/11/2015 19:58

Oh and welcome hipotle!

TattedPixie · 17/11/2015 19:58

On the topic of food, does anyone get their food have all cooked and ready, only for your stomach to go NOPE!
Thought I would be able to eat pasta, tuna and broccoli only for the smell of the tuna to put me right off.
Might just make some chips instead now

earlgreydrinker · 17/11/2015 20:01

kezod I hit 9+5 last week and my nausea has dramatically decreased. Normal apparently, but it can also come in waves.

Booking in appointment today which was uneventful. They didn't listen for a heartbeat which was disappointing. Still have to wait for my scan! It better come soon!

Funny people mentioning mc Donald's. I last ate a McDonald's burger about 13 years ago, but it popped into my head at the weekend. Trying to eat normally and not gained any weight yet but I do seem to be wanting crisps alot and I don't normally eat them either.

Potkettleblack2 · 17/11/2015 20:02

With DC1 I looked more pregnant at 9 weeks than I did at 18! It was all bloating early on, and then no bump for ages. I went to a wedding at 20 weeks and no one could tell I was pregnant (I was so disappointed!). I was quite small until 34 weeks and then suddenly I got huge!
Now I am bloated but also think I'm beginning to feel a small bump form-exciting!

nehagarg · 17/11/2015 20:03

Loving the news of good scans. Congratulations Dolly and Miracle Smile

Been an insane week and its only tuesday. Turns out mum has a broken pelvic bone. A&E didnt see the crack and I had to take her in twice just because they missed it the first time. She is a half pralysed stroke patient and has had a terrible time of it all.

Thankfully she can walk (though very slowly and with a walker only).

Got to return to London tomorrow for my 12 week scan. Bit scared to leave mum and granny on their own. Sad

Yes tattered I'm finding myself eating more processed food which is bad, but when I cook something from scratch I just don't feel like it by the time I can eat it. Made a sweet potato and lentil soup a couple of days ago, which I normally love and should be really good for me, but could barely touch it. I also feel like I'm wasting more food these days as well either because I no longer feel like eating it or worry more about it going off!

Rose2806 · 17/11/2015 20:05

How do you know when bloat turns into a bump?

Potkettleblack2 · 17/11/2015 20:09

Rose when I press down on my lower tummy it's beginning to feel hard!
nehagarg your poor mum. But how exciting that you have your 12 week scan tomorrow!

GrubbyWindows · 17/11/2015 20:14

Oh nehag how stressful!! Are you an only child? Such a lot on your plate!

Is it worth getting adult social work involved? They are so stretched these days they may not have much to offer, but sometimes they can unlock some good support for older people.

It sounds like you are an ace coper!
Good luck with the scan tomorrow xx

emma85x · 17/11/2015 20:15

Welcome hipotle! Everyone on here is amazing and really really lovely!

Betty We're dd twins, very exciting!

Thank you so much to everyone for your good luck wishes! Much appreciated.

Well I went for the scan this evening and it was AMAZING!! I cried my eyes out with happiness and relief. The baby was wriggling about so much, I saw his/her little hands and feet and heard the heartbeat. Just incredible! Best 10 minutes of my life! I'm just sitting here staring at photos now!! Grin Sonographer said I had a tilted uterus so I had an internal scan. Not sure what that means really so will now Google for the rest of the evening! She moved me back one day to 9+3. If she's right that means we conceived 3 days after dtd.. I wonder if that means it's more likely to be a girl?! Anyway, speculation speculation!

Thank you again for all the good luck wishes. You ladies rock! Smile

Lovelybeano · 17/11/2015 20:24

nehagarg I'm glad they've found out what's happened to your mum, it sounds really painful ouchy !!
rose I'm afraid I mentioned the scone sorry lol im very influenced on food at the moment, I just can't think of anything to eat then i see something and think I could just eat that - I've just seen someone eating a pizza on TV and said to oh I could just eat that - he's now at the shop buying me a pizza :-/ not something I would normally choose to eat but I seem to be living on toast with different toppings at the moment (beans, cheese, cheese spread, peanut butter heehee) , so if he hears me say anything different he's straight to the shop bless him xx
