Aww it's lovely seeing all the scan pictures, can't wait for mine next week!

I feel so sick all the time, it's so hard to carry on doing things normally! Not actually been sick though (think I'm actively trying not to be) so hugs to everyone who is as that must be even worse. It's rubbish that this is the stage when you generally don't tell people as well!

Trying to be good and do lots of walking but really hate being anywhere near pollution/people smoking, which in London is really hard to avoid!!

Stripes1983 · 29/10/2015 17:52

Marking my place - got early scan tomorrow DP is really excited but I kind of feel emotionless like it's not really happening ! Hoping it changes if we hear a heartbeat tomorrow !

obsessedlex · 29/10/2015 17:53

Oh here you all are Grin

obsessedlex · 29/10/2015 17:54

I've just bought travel sickness wrist bands which my friend swears helped her nausea - I'll let you know if they work at all, I feel st least like I'm trying to do something to make myself feel better. I also bought ginger tea which is surprisingly nice!

nehagarg · 29/10/2015 17:57

obsessed .. I got those and they really do help. Though my nausea is just nausea, no sickness so far. Hope they work for you too.

Good luck tomorrow Stripes ... It feels way more real when you see the little peanut on the scan. Smile

Yay new thread!

I'm loving all of these scan pictures :)

laughingGnomette · 29/10/2015 18:06

Great title too nehagarg it sums us up perfectly!!

nehagarg · 29/10/2015 18:13

Thanks Gnomette ... I am literally counting down the seconds. Grin

Incidentally, anyone else planning to, or have used a doppler in the past? My friend gave me hers after her birth. Tried it a couple of days ago - I think I heard peanut's heartbeat for 2 seconds but then couldnt find it again. Not a worrier if I cant find it but definitely think the 3MHz power is too strong for the developing baby so plan to use it sparingly. As a stepping stone between scans maybe?

Well hello new thread!

Congratulations for all the lovely scans everyone, the next few weeks can't come quick enough for mine, I'm only 5+2!

I've had a totally rotten day, horrible swollen gland/sinus thing which is quite literally the most painful thing, avoiding paracetamol as much as I can but caved a few times! Nausea also been pretty intense, my manager is so sweet about it... but I just have to keep going... 16 wild 3-4 year olds nearly broke me today, and it was a quiet day! Haha

Sorry to hear how bad the sickness has been for some of you, hopefully it will get easier/2nd trimester hurries up!... Travel bands seem to help me as do plain oat cakes..

Can't believe this is thread three and no one is even 12 weeks !

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 29/10/2015 18:35

Marking place.

Congratulations to all the scans, must be so amazing to see.

TattedPixie · 29/10/2015 19:32

Seeing all the scan pictures is making me excited for mine, even though I don't have a scan date yet. Haven't felt sick at all since having some crumpets before work.

As a newbie here, would someone be able to tell me what abbreviations mean on here, like DD etc.

Violet88 · 29/10/2015 19:41

Lovely to see all the scan pictures. Got mine on Monday and it can't come soon enough as I've started worrying today as haven't had any nausea since over night last night. I know that symptoms come and go and I'm being silly but everything's worrying at this stage!! Just want it to be Monday so I can see if baby's alright!

Tatted DD is Dear Daughter, DS Dear Son, DH Dear Husband etc

Potkettleblack2 · 29/10/2015 19:49

cautious others may disagree but I think just to to your booking appointment on your own but take DH to the scan which is the big deal!

Crazy that this is thread 3 already!

BabySocks · 29/10/2015 19:52

Evening all, am really enjoying keeping up with everyone but still nervous to post. Have a 2nd scan on Tuesday to see how my abnormal sac is getting on. .. I might feel more confident after that though :)

Delurking... I've been following since thread one, but too superstitious to post! I'm 8 weeks tomorrow though, so here goes. EDD 10th June, second child ( although I had an early miscarriage for my first pregnancy), and I'm on South London and 35.

My DS is 2.5 and I wondered, those of you who already have DC, what do you do with a toddler for your booking in appointment?? Mine falls on a day when I don't work, it seems excessive to get DP to take time off to watch him, but I don't really want him along. I don't really want him to cotton on to the baby situ until well past the 12 week scan!
Hmmm.

AmIseeingRight · 29/10/2015 20:58

marks place

Lovely seeing all the scans, also for those worrying about symptoms disappearing, its normal as mine come in waves of varying extremes from good days to days when my guts live outside my body Hmm also mine only got serious at start of wk 8

Belvedere · 29/10/2015 21:02

Welcome grubby, you are my Edd twin. I made my booking in appointment for a day when I'm working as I didn't want to take ds either. Can a friend have him?

Anyone know if the doctor can prescribe anything for nausea or is it just being sick? I feel nausea 24/7 at the moment with the watery mouth. It's getting me really down :(

MindfulBear · 29/10/2015 21:42

hello! I'm here! Pulling up a comfy chair!

Can't believe how fast these threads move

BabySocks · 29/10/2015 21:51

Hey mrsunsure you are definitely having a hard time, that wait must be horrible but there are so many positive stories around.

Unfortunately my tale is slightly different, we saw a heartbeat at 7 weeks but I have loads of scarring from ashermans so my question mark is whether it will develop, long days for both of us :( x

laughingGnomette · 29/10/2015 21:52

Hi Grubby could you perhaps see if they'll change the date of your booking in for when someone could take DS for you?

Mrspopper · 29/10/2015 23:26

Hi grubby. I'm outskirts of south london/surrey. I think you can take them along if no childcare just like you would to dr. Mines on a working day so have childcare.

obsessedlex · 30/10/2015 02:55

The joys of insomnia again!

potkettle
The midwife said yesterday that it would be useful for Mr obsessed to come to booking in appointment too as she takes medical history from him too. I have warned him that it will be a boring hour and a half that he'll just have to endure!

The travel sickness wristbands do seem to be helping a bit but they look pretty special! I'm seeing friends this w/e who will sus me out in seconds, any ideas on excuses for wearing them?

Tmi but anyone else got terrible bubbly guts? I'm repulsing myself with the smell that comes out and the poor dog is looking at me like "it wasn't me!!"

Pregnancy joys!!

Dirtycat · 30/10/2015 02:59

Hi ladies. I'd love to join. I've been stalking from the get-go but I was so afraid of mc I couldn't actually speak. I'm 37 and expecting #2. I could write a novel about what I've had to go through to get onto this board!

Due 19th June, live in Birmingham and have a 5 year old DS. No DH, scary stuff!

I've got lots of symptoms and I saw a beautiful little heartbeat at 6w3d - trying to relax but still can't shake the feeling that something terrible is just around the corner. Reading your posts have helped me realise this is quite normal!

All the best to everyone - looking forward to our journey Flowers
