Right, on phone so I'm bound to mess is some names...

dolly really thinking of you, I hope you managed to get to epu this morning, and that everything's ok!

louise I'm glad your check up went well! Phew!

mrslewis I hope your day improved! A friend of mine reckoned that being pregnant was as close as she was going to get to understanding what life with MS is like, although of course pregnancy is fundamentally a happy event for most of us in this day and age, just a bit relentless... So glad that your work are not being dicks about it.

biffle am I remembering right that you have three kids already??? I have so much respect for you! Just being slightly functional makes you pretty incredible in my book- you're amazing! And it sounds like your DH agrees.

laughing that's ace! Not the pincushion part though...

mrsmugoo oh no! Hand foot and mouth! Is it a worry in pregnancy? I hope not!! It's a nuisance and a pain in any case!

And welcome laP

I think I did just have one of those 24 hour bugs, so much better today. Phew! Although have barely been out of the house with poor DS. But he has enjoyed the pure plain carb diet today!

MollieRos · 16/11/2015 18:12

Welcome LaPharisienne sorry you're suffering with the dry heaving- so unpleasant! But glad you're feeling so excited Smile

mrslewis don't feel bad for having to be off- it's important to rest if you're feeling so rubbish. Good that your work were understanding.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Louise and I hope Grubby is feeling a bit better too.

Any update Dolly ? How're you doing today?

Wow, I don't look at this thread for a couple of hours and it's all going on!

I'm feeling properly ropey today, I'm feeling so sick again, and it's just got worse and worse through the day. That'll teach me for optimistically thinking I was over the nausea. I felt awful yesterday too, and was throwing up which haven't done for a little while. I've had a horrible sharp kind of needling pain in the centre of my lower abdomen too most of the day, it feels sort of like when you desperately need to wee. I did wonder if it was a bladder infection but no other signs so I'm not sure. I really hope it's nothing ominous!

MollieRos · 16/11/2015 18:16

Aha, just spotted the next page... mrsmugoo sorry to hear about your DS, hopefully he won't be too poorly with it.

Also, I forgot to ask, I had an appointment letter arrive today for an appointment with the Obstetrics team in a couple of weeks time. The midwife didn't mention that. Any ideas what that's for or why I have an appointment? The only thing I'm thinking is that my BMI at my booking in appt put me as underweight (which is normal for me), so maybe I need an extra appointment, but I would've thought she'd've mentioned it?

GrubbyWindows · 16/11/2015 18:29

mollie apparently vomiting can be a uti symptom, especially in pregnancy (having just read the entirety of patient.co.uk's vom and diarrhoea in pregnancy section...). Worth popping to the doc?
No thoughts re your appointment, can you ask? That sort of thing drives me insane, last time I refused the downs testing, but it turns out they did it anyway, found it high risk, and booked me a detailed heart scan. The first I knew of this was a letter telling me the time of the extra scan, but not why. Really crap!

Betty79 · 16/11/2015 19:11

Hi everyone, def feeling a lot better other than tiredness in evening. Still feel a bit nauseous if I don't eat often but don't actually feel constant nausea now. Got my booking in appointment tomorrow, hoping they book my 12 weeks scan whilst I'm there.

Hope everyone else is doing ok Smile

MollieRos · 16/11/2015 20:26

Grubby hmm, perhaps it could be uti then? I've never actually had a uti, but I don't seem to have any of the other symptoms. Maybe I'll see how I am in a day or two. I can just ring the midwife and ask about the appt I'm sure, but I feel a bit daft not knowing! They gave so much info at the booking in appt that there's a good chance she did actually mention it and I've forgotten it!

Belleboo23 · 16/11/2015 20:32

I've had bladder/kidney infections with sickness so Id definitely get checked out, my doctors let me just drop a sample in and they call me if there's any infection.

Ate dinner late because of nausea now I have indigestion and wishing id not bothered!! Haven't had this since last pregnancy any recommendations for what to take that's not like chewing chalk Hmm

mrslewis2015 · 16/11/2015 20:53

Thanks for the kind messages ladies, good to know I'm not being over dramatic!

Have my booking in app tomorrow, really excited to start thinking about 12 week scans.

Sorry to hear about your ds hand foot and mouth mrsmugoo, I had it when I was little, poor thing, hope he is ok!

And hope your uti/sore tummy gets better soon! Lots of fluids always helps mine!

mrsmugoo · 16/11/2015 21:23

Thanks for the well wishes - yep he definitely has HF&M so I'll have to keep him off nursery tomorrow - great!

dollydaydream84 · 16/11/2015 23:58

Apologies, haven't read the thread back. Quick update as pretty shattered, been at A&E then Gynae ward for 6 hours, just got back. Couldn't scan until tomorrow. Examinations do look positive but still some moderate pain on the right which still could mean ectopic but Dr doesn't think so. HUge respect for our NHS, hugely understaffed but the staff they have are fab, so well looked after. Will update after I hopefully have a scan tomorrow xx

laughingGnomette · 17/11/2015 06:50

Aww dolly, thinking of you. Very frustrating that you're still waiting to have a scan. Did your hcg levels look ok? Every thing crossed for you today xx

bikingintherain · 17/11/2015 06:56

dolly you must be exhausted. But it's sounding positive, fingers crossed for you that everything goes well today.

With regards to UTI's in pregnancy, one thing I learnt this time round was that in pregnancy you don't necessarily get the pain when you wee. A better sign for it is needing to go to the toilet regularly but when you get there you are not able to produce much tribe at all. My midwife did make it clear that going regularly is very normal its just not if you can't produce much. Just thought I'd mention it as this is DC number 3 for me and it's the first time I've been told this!

bikingintherain · 17/11/2015 06:57

I think tribe meant urine, but who knows?!

laughingGnomette · 17/11/2015 07:02

biking - that's very useful information biking. I didn't realise it could be painless.
Grin producing tribe Grin

dollydaydream84 · 17/11/2015 07:47

Thanks for all your kind messages yesterday and today. I actually cried when they said I couldn't have a scan yesterday after being promised one but waiting 5 hours will do that to you! Glad to be having one today whatever the outcome, the not knowing is horrible. Feeling quite positive, just hope it's good news and I'm not disappointed. Still can't explain the pain though.

Mugoo hope your DS is ok. Hf&m has been doing the rounds here too. We've escaped it so far but who knows how long for.

Hope everyone has a good day, I will update later xx thanks for the good wishes.

iamdivergent · 17/11/2015 07:51

Good luck dolly

MagicDucky · 17/11/2015 07:59

Good luck Dolly!

Today is the day I get my booking appointment! Feel like I've been waiting forever! I'm so excited!

Lovelybeano · 17/11/2015 08:05

Good luck dolly

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2015 08:24

Good Luck today Dolly fingers crossed all is well, it sounds like they were quite positive yesterday with the other tests

I have exactly one week until my scan now. DH is getting desperate to tell people bless him, though we think his dad may have guessed already as the last few times we have seen him he has mentioned babies (though saying that he has been desperate for a grandchild for some time now). My mum is also desperate for a grandchild and has been for a few years now, i'm being naughty and every time she mentions babies to me I tell her that I think 30 is a good age to start having children (I'm 27) so think she has no idea and is going to be so happy.

I started making the cards we are using to tell our parents yesterday, made a visit to hobbycraft and have made cards saying 'Only the best parents are promoted to grandparents', we will then stick a scan pick inside with the EDD. We're giving them under the guise of an early Christmas present. DH thinks that are a bit twee, but I guess that is my style anyway. I can't believe we've managed to keep it under wraps all this time, many times DH has nearly caved bless him lol. He is feeling a bit left out I think though and thinks telling people will make him feel more connected to the pregnancy. Hopefully seeing our baby on screen will do this too. Is anybody else's partner feeling a bit disconnected from it all?

cautiousoptimist1 · 17/11/2015 09:13

Good luck today dolly

17c1m I think it's quite normal for the OHs to be a bit disconnected. Mine is but in a good way, he's protective of me and making sure I'm ok but not quite seeing the baby yet. We have told parents and sisters. I think the 12 week scan will make it a bit more real for him when he hopefully get to see him/her on the screen wriggling about.

Louise34567 · 17/11/2015 09:13

Good luck dolly

Louise34567 · 17/11/2015 09:14

Aww caterpillars that's SUCH a sweet way to tell people - sounds amazing x

Lovelybeano · 17/11/2015 09:36

I haven't been round much lately, the tiredness has kicked in full force, I'm feeling really fed up by it and frustrated that I can't just get on with things, I'm hoping I'll get a bit of an energy boost soon. Plus we have nowhere that sells mat clothes here, I wanted to get a pair of jeggins and a pair of leggings just so I can be comfortable rather than really needing them so that's got me a bit down aswell pffftt

caterpillars we told our parents nearly straight away, however no one else knew, we went for the 8 week scan last week and oh said do you mind if I tell my boss, it'll just make it easier if I need to come home or we need to go to the hospital again, which is fair enough however he told all his close workmates too lol!!! I think he was sooo excited seeing the scan he couldn't control himself bless him. No one else will know until after we've told the kids xx

17caterpillars1mouse · 17/11/2015 09:42

Thanks.

Will we get to hear the heartbeat at the scan as well as see baby? I've been assuming we will but realised I actually have no idea

dollydaydream84 · 17/11/2015 09:53

Thanks all :)

caterpillars I'm not sure you know - we did at our 10 week private scan but not at our 12 week NHS scan last time. Therefore the first time we would have heard it via the NHS was at the 16 week midwife appointment. It probably varies between hospitals as many things seem to do :) Good luck xx
