I pay £30 a fortnight but I don't drink or spend money on clothes, makeup etc so I think money well spent to take away the stress of cleaning and give me more time to relax with the family.

Belleboo23 · 13/11/2015 21:19

Mindful bear that's good to know because I really don't fancy having that done. Both babies were fine just little, my first was kept in for observation but no issues and dd had trouble regulating her blood sugars but we were out after 2 days. I'll just wait and see what the hospital says, when I told dh my estimated due date of 18th June he said so mid may then knowing you!! Grin

earlgreydrinker · 13/11/2015 21:58

just catching up! Hello to all the new joiners

lemons I hit 9 +3 this week and my nausea has all but gone just like that. I've googled this (obviously) but it seems quite normal.

I got my maternity jeans out this week, going to need them soon! Booking appointment next Tuesday, after the first one was cancelled. Very impatiently waiting to hear about my scan!

Osirus · 13/11/2015 23:00

mrsmugoo my booking appointment is also next Thursday - I'll be 9w6d, so I'm also worried I won't have my scan at 12 weeks.

Lovelybeano · 14/11/2015 05:44

I'll be 10+1 for my booking appointment Angry seems silly not to have a midwife until so late on.

RIP to those who lost their lives in France, my thoughts are with the family and friends, what a crazy world we're bringing our bundles into Sad

mrsmugoo · 14/11/2015 08:09

I phoned the midwives when I was 6 weeks and was given a booking in appt 5 weeks later!! Kicking myself I didn't phone earlier but thought 6 weeks was plenty early enough!

In my area you aren't even in the system until you're booked in as you have a choice of two hospitals which are part of different NHS trusts so they can't send off for a scan appt in advance because they don't even know your hospital choice until they book you in on the computer and its two completely different systems.

They will have to fit me in in time for NT screening so it'll have to be by 13 weeks. I think I'll kick up a fuss if it's not!!

obsessedlex · 14/11/2015 08:27

My booking appointment is in 2 weeks, the day before I am 11 weeks - I saw the doctor at what I thought was 6 weeks but since my early scan put me two weeks earlier they will have 'known' about me for 7 weeks!!
I still haven't received my scan appointment.
I think I might call on Monday - when I spoke to the midwife she said she had lots of holiday that she had to take it lose! Surely they should have holiday cover!!

mrsmugoo · 14/11/2015 08:38

To be honest there's not much that a midwife can really "do" in the first trimester so I'm not bothered about not seeing a midwife until 11 weeks per se, more just I want to bloody tell people and it's annoying that the goalposts will probably move!

BiffleRoo · 14/11/2015 08:39

My booking in appointment is Tuesday when I'll be 10+2 so I'm not holding out much hope of my scan being at 12 weeks. Might be pleasantly surprised though. Sickness has come back with a vengeance and I was sick several times through the night and again this morning. Feel completely drained and I'm working an event today.

obsessedlex · 14/11/2015 08:46

Ditto ditto ditto mrsmugoo you've hit the nail on the head - I just want to get that scan pic and tell people!! Plus the weird feeling I have that it's not really real until that stage, despite feeling and looking like death warmed up!

earlgreydrinker · 14/11/2015 09:31

Same here obsessed - it's my sisters birthday today and I'm 10 weeks tomorrow. I would really like to tell her but not sure on doing so before I've at least seen the midwife.
Hope your day improves biffle

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 14/11/2015 10:32

Yep, I agree. Not bothered about seeing the midwife but keen to get the scan sorted. Where I am you have to ring up for it 5 working days after seeing the MW. That will make me 10+4 when I call. Apparently they work hard to get you I'm between 12 and 13 weeks for scan.

Must admit, have spilled the beans to my family already, and to a few friends. Feeling a bit more secure after seeing a heartbeat a 9 weeks but fingers remain firmly crossed. I'm working on the basis that I'll tell people I'm pregnant only if I would tell them if I miscarried.

BabySocks · 14/11/2015 10:39

I'm with you there gin although I have told some people I am waiting unless I would tell them otherwise.
I've finally got the midwife on Monday when I will be 10+4, looking forward to getting my scan date soon hopefully!

MindfulBear · 14/11/2015 12:42

does anyone know if i can take ibruprufen whilst pg? excruciating pain just started between my shoulder blades and i cannot make it stop. have tried stretching, lying down and DH poking massaging......

JellyBaby26 · 14/11/2015 12:45

I think you can only take paracetamol....

obsessedlex · 14/11/2015 12:47

Just paracetamol bear
How far along are you? Not to panic you but shoulder pain can be a symptom of ectopic - might be worth speaking to EPU or your midwife xx

bikingintherain · 14/11/2015 13:13

bear I'm afraid ibuprofen is a big no no, particularly on the first trimester. Maybe try a hot water bottle or a hot shower?

MollieRos · 14/11/2015 14:14

I never realised the first trimester was such a waiting game! I had my booking in appointment a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm just counting down the days to my 12wk scan in a couple of weeks. It'll just be so much easier when we feel like we can tell people- I hate feeling like I'm lying all the time!

laughingGnomette · 14/11/2015 15:49

lex - it's shoulder tip pain that's a sign of an ectopic (where your arm meets your shoulder) rather than shoulder blade area

PrincessPunzie · 14/11/2015 16:24

Just got my scan appointment for the 25th - I'll be dead on twelve weeks. Excited/nervous! It's a dual screening for Down's - hadn't fully appreciated that as I thought Down's was one of the conditions they looked for at the 20 week anomaly scan? Makes it doubly nerve-wracking but, with a bit of luck, doubly reassuring after. It can't come quick enough!

laughingGnomette · 14/11/2015 16:28

Princess - yes, they do the downs screening at 12 weeks. They take measurements of the fluid at the back of your baby's neck.

laughingGnomette · 14/11/2015 16:31

I took DS swimming today and he managed to kick me right in the tummy :(. It shook me up a bit and I was a bit sore fore a while. Feeling ok now though, if a little nervous.

PrincessPunzie · 14/11/2015 16:34

Thanks Gnomette my goodness I am such a pregnancy noob...

obsessedlex · 14/11/2015 17:35

Sorry bear if I've worried you unnecessarily - thanks for putting me right gnome Blush

AmIseeingRight · 14/11/2015 19:03

Hi ladies

Its been a few week since I posted as was away. I realised without the forum I was less anxious Hmm So will be here on and off. it was nice seeing all the scans and sorry for those who suffered a loss Flowers.

1 more week to my 12 weeks scan when I will be 12+4, cant believe its almost 3 months and looking forward to finally sharing the news with my friends as i will be the first in our friend group to have a baby Grin.

Best thing about this week has been the lessing of morning sickness, down to dry heaving and only slight nausea in the evening - roll on 2nd trimester and the next 6 months.
