Cute Babygro btw Harley - as soon as I've had my scan I'm going to head into town and get something for bub. I think I'll have earned it after all the weeks of worrying (although it'll be hard to limit myself to just one cute tiny thing!!)

mrsmugoo · 11/11/2015 11:57

I doubt this baby will get anything new bought until we find out the sex. If it's another boy then he'll probably be on hand me downs!!

dollydaydream84 · 11/11/2015 13:03

TattedPixie they may want you to take a water sample with you but I guess if they haven't mentioned anything to you already then maybe not?

We aren't finding out the gender of this baby. If same gender, some things may be OK to use again but as first baby was December and this one will be born in June, I'm thinking the 0-3 snowsuit might not be needed this time :D

Lovelybeano · 11/11/2015 13:31

harley your scan pics lovely Smile I've got mine in the morning, my dates will be 8+4, hoping that everything will be ok and I've just had an infection, fingers crossed xxxx

Louise34567 · 11/11/2015 13:44

Tatted I had my scan yesterday - I'd say it's useful to have a think about any genetic/allergies/abnormalities/medical conditions from both your and your other half's families, in advance, and write them down on some paper. That's because they'll ask for a detailed medical history and ask lots of questions - so having some answers already written down might save you some time.

Also, it's useful to write down a list of questions; I had lots, and they said that no question is a silly question!

Also... drink some water before hand! They took a urine sample from me half way through the appointment and luckily I'd had some water before, otherwise that could have been tricky... :)

Louise34567 · 11/11/2015 13:45

Oh and Tatted I'm in the same situation as you - first pregnancy.

TattedPixie · 11/11/2015 13:54

Thanks Louise, that's a big help. I'll bug the boyfriend once he's back from work lol

dollydaydream84 · 11/11/2015 14:10

Harley cute picture :D I couldn't see it earlier when you posted. On my last scan pic my Mum said "why is the arm not connected to the body"! Grin "it's the angle mother!!"

Louise34567 · 11/11/2015 14:33

You're welcome Tatted. They give you loads of useful information and take your height, weight, blood etc to make sure everything's on track. You get given a shiny new folder with lots of info.

Potkettleblack2 · 11/11/2015 15:17

Hi all, it's been a while since I posted.
Has anyone else totally let themselves go? I normally take pride in my appearance but I've just looked at myself in the mirror at work and I look a state....but I don't care! I am just too tired and queasy in the mornings to put much effort in and all I want to be is comfortable! But I really look dreadful!

carrie1008 · 11/11/2015 16:01

I've been on a mission this last week to find a drink that I can stomach...tea, hot chocolate, fruit juice, lemonade, fizzy water...you name it, everything gave me a horrible taste in my mouth and made me queasy. Out of sheer frustration this morning I poured myself a glass of good old fashioned tap water...Oh my god, it tasted amazing! No queasiness, no weird taste in my mouth...why didn't I try this sooner?!!!

HarleyQuinn90 · 11/11/2015 16:03

Pot kettle yes! I'm usually showered and dressed hair and make up done by the morning school run, don't bother with make up at the minute and today I haven't showered yet Blush which is very unlike me, I have been asleep since I was sick this morning though.

Lovelybeano · 11/11/2015 16:04

potkettle I have greasy hair and spots - not the best look for a beautician lol bring on the second trimester when we supposedly 'bloom' Smile

MadrigalElectromotive · 11/11/2015 16:07

Potkettle Me! I have huge dark circles under my eyes and I have lost over 2st in weight since getting pg because of the hyperemesis. Instead of this improving my appearance (I had the weight to lose!) it seems to have come off my face, so I have sunken cheeks and eyes too. I am also disgustingly spotty. Good times!

Ambergogo · 11/11/2015 16:37

Dolly we are the same DS is December and now June so it would be really annoying of this one is a boy. Not that I really care what we have.
I'm sooooo spotty this time round and my hair is super greasy. I didn't have this last time.

bikingintherain · 11/11/2015 16:46

Carrie I have had the same problem with the horrible taste. Water is good, the other thing I've found is boiled water with a slice of lemon and 2 slices of fresh ginger. It's a bit of an acquired taste but it actually helps get rid of the taste.

TattedPixie · 11/11/2015 16:51

All I seem to be doing recently is eating! I eat when I'm hungry and then seem to pick whenever I'm in the kitchen. I need to stop otherwise I'm gonna put on too much and it's not what I want. Got pain in my hips and back, if it's not gone by tomorrow, gonna mention it to the nurse when she does my flu jab.

ambergogo how old is DS? My DD will be 3 in December. I don't mind what we have either :)

All I do is eat too! As for looks I've been plastering makeup on to disguise pale queasy fade. Everyone probably wondering why I'm making so much effort!

MollieRos · 11/11/2015 17:45

Mrsmugoo I'll join you in some cautious celebrations- I'm feeling loads better too! Even a couple of people at work have commented that I'm looking better. Fingers crossed it continues! I do still feel sick most of the tie, but only low level, and a long as I keep eating it's really manageable. So lovely not to feel constantly hung over and be puking/wretching a few times a day!

BiffleRoo · 11/11/2015 17:55

betty we told girls when I was about 6 weeks as they were already suspicious due to sickness. We are very close and if anything were to go wrong I would have told them so it's no 'taboo'. They knew when I was 5 weeks with DS as my Dad dropped me in it!!

Betty79 · 11/11/2015 18:05

Biffle that's good, I think the main reason I haven't told mine as I think they would find it hard to keep it to themselves till 12 weeks and I haven't told anyone else apart from my mum and her partner. Will be telling the girls first after the 12 weeks scan tho Smile

Belleboo23 · 11/11/2015 18:37

Booking in went well sadly no doppler :( took about 45 minutes to go through everything and got lots to read through and yes take some wee!!! I was told scan is done at 12-14 weeks hoping it's closer to 12 because we decided to keep it to ourselves until the scan just to check all is okay. It's getting harder though not to tell the kids/parents and my best friend just want to share the news!!

Ambergogo · 11/11/2015 19:17

He will be one next month dolly so only an 18 month age gap all being well. No idea how I'm going to cope with two! I would really like 3 but think if we had a girl this time DH would be happy with two. Not that he really wants a girl but I think he would just see it as we have one of each so no need to have anymore.

MindfulBear · 11/11/2015 19:19

evening all!

mrsmugoo your post made me laugh!!! Grin GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

"Don't want to keep banging on about it but fuck a duck, it's glorious to feel normal again!! I'm even having a coffee this morning!"

until sometime yesterday I have been feeling horrific for about 4 weeks. in fact I have told anyone that asks that I have been suffering from a virus brought home from nursery by 3yo DS. I was starting to believe my own story!!!! I haven't felt particularly sick but just soooooooo tired. proper "OMG will I die?" tiredness, went off food for 4 weeks too which didnt help my low blood pressure and fast pulse, so I have been feeling faint and truly not quite all there. I could not take it anymore so called in sick last Wed & Thurs, worked from home on my half day on Fri, worked from home on Monday. Went to the office on Tuesday (via nursery drop off) and had to lie on the floor once I had arrived to perk myself up a bit. I was close to tears with exhaustion (I am not a public crier) and did wonder if I would be able to get home again!!! Things did improve enough that I could go to meetings and sound professional (I have a job that requires professionalism, IQ, EQ, quick thinking and all that jazz - talk about pretending whilst feeling like this!!!!).

Then I took my vitamins last night and immediately threw them all up (lovely - 1st actual sickness of this pg) and felt better within an hour!!!!! (it has put me off them though- has this happened to anyone else?)

Felt totes amazeballs today and even took myself off for a swim after work and had a smoothy after.

I really hope the tiredness has gone now. I am 8+3 so am slightly nervous it might come back. I did not have this tiredness with DS. My boobs grew and were sensitive immediately (I Knew i was pg without doing a test as soon as i was late!), I needed to pee loads too but I dont have those symptoms this time just sheer exhaustion. Somewhere between 8 & 14 weeks, with DS, I went off red meat and red wine and had the most awful insomnia. I really hope that does not happen again

I am currently overseas so seeing the gynae obs dr next Monday. DH will be here so he is very excited. I think the dr will do a scan but have no idea what else to expect or even who i can ask...... I had DS in the UK (& will have this one in the UK too because we WILL be back together as a family by then). Different countries do different things, ideally the gynae wanted to see me this week as he likes to see patients at 8 weeks but I dont know if a MW is involved - I doubt it as they see MWs as a little bit alternative here, or for poor people!!!!
