Unfortunately the period theory doesn't work for me as I had 22 day cycles! But I have heard of people spotting when they would usually get period.

HarleyQuinn90 · 10/11/2015 21:29

Dolly feels ages away doesn't it, and I had one today! Grin she did say not to worry about the cysts so I'm not going to. Smile

Has anyone bought anything for baby yet? I know it's early but after scan I couldn't resist picking a little something up

I love baby clothes, actually young kids clothes in general. I've been looking for a 'cute' cardigan for DD(5), but she's now wearing age 7 clothes so really all the stuff I love she's too big for.

I'm 10 weeks today, it feels like a bit of a milestone and some website said that baby is the size of a kumquat, that means nothing to me. But a bit of detection means it's bigger than a cherry but smaller than a brussel sprout. Crazy!

TattedPixie · 10/11/2015 21:57

Hey all, doctors was fine. Been put on a high dose of folic acid because of my BMI being high. Got a phone number to call tomorrow morning to book my booking appointment. Feels very real now.
While I was in town, I couldn't resist looking at baby clothes. Gonna need to start buying soon. Thank God for January sales!

emma85x · 10/11/2015 22:08

Hi tatted I have a high bmi too. Do you mind me asking what dose your doctor recommended? I currently taking pregnacare plus which has 400.

TattedPixie · 10/11/2015 22:19

Emma, he's given me the 5mg ones to take until I hit 12 weeks. Ask your doctor what would be best for you

JellyBaby26 · 11/11/2015 06:35

I keep forgetting to take my vitamins!

With DD I think I forgot 3 times during the whole thing but I have forgotten more than 10 this time! Confused

Elliecherry · 11/11/2015 06:43

Hi all! I have been lurking for a few weeks now and thought I'd join you all! I think I am roughly due 27th of June.
I have 2 girls already so this will be number 3.

I love baby clothes too! I haven't bought anything yet but I doubt I will need to unless this one is a boy.

mrsmugoo · 11/11/2015 08:34

Don't want to keep banging on about it but fuck a duck, it's glorious to feel normal again!! I'm even having a coffee this morning!

Louise34567 · 11/11/2015 08:39

Hayley I had my scan yesterday and they said I had a cyst on my left ovary - as that's the one I ovulated from. The doctor said that's perfectly safe and in fact very normal: it's a sign you've conceived! Cysts disappear after giving birth. Absolutely, absolutely nothing to worry about. Strangely reassuring, more than anything.

mrsmugoo · 11/11/2015 08:45

My scan notes said I had a cyst on the ovary I ovulated from too but she never even mentioned it in person so I just assumed it was totally inconsequential.

Belleboo23 · 11/11/2015 09:38

Have my booking in appointment this afternoon do they use the doppler at this one, I only remember having it later on but think I've read others have had it. Because we haven't had an early scan be nice if they do. Felt so sick today I'm 8+4 but still haven't actually been sick just plenty of nausea this is completely different for me from ds and dd Confused can't complain I guess!!

Lovelybeano · 11/11/2015 09:38

Glad you're feeling better mugoo

harley I'd love to see your scan pic :) , it was sad to see someone go yesterday, your scan pic will cheer everyone up Flowers

jellybaby could you set an alarm on your phone for the same time everyday ? May help you to remember xx

Betty79 · 11/11/2015 09:38

Mrsmugoo I'm starting to feel better in the mornings, less like I've got a hangover every day. Fingers crossed it continues. Feel worse by the end of the day tho! How many weeks are u? I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Seems to be going quicker now.

Biffle been meaning to ask u if u have told your older kids yet? I haven't, planning on telling them after 12 week scan but can't wait as it's been hard not telling them.

emma85x · 11/11/2015 09:46

belle Good luck with your booking appointment today. We're very close together! I'm 8+5 and my booking appointment is tomorrow. I am desperate for an early scan but DH is not keen as he wants to wait for the 12 week scan to ensure everything really is okay. I would be absolutely delighted if the midwife uses a doppler tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Let me know how you get on! It's my first so no idea what to expect! Good luck to you.

dollydaydream84 · 11/11/2015 10:08

I think lots of different approaches are taken with midwife care in the first 12 weeks. My booking appointment in is the same as the 12 week scan, I don't have/see a midwife until then which is wretched (particularly with the first) as you often have a lot of questions/worries which would be useful to talk someone through with, just have go and pester the GP if I am concerned about something.

Glad you feeling better mrsmugoo send some vibes this way :)

I am up and down with symptoms, soooooo tired all the time, think I might be slightly anaemic as I did not feel like this with DC1. Also up a few times in the night for the toilet which I did not have with DC1. Nausea still there but comes in waves, as long as I feel my tummy about once an hour I'm fine....just concerned about how much weight I will gain this time so trying to eat healthy snacks even though I just want crisps!! (Gained 4st last time including baby/placenta when I was 41wks!! about 2.5stone was baby/placenta and 1.5stone was crisps and cake GrinBlush)

lepudding · 11/11/2015 10:20

Haven't been on in a while and my bookmarked link to thread number two is a bit outdated now!

Have 12-week scan on 26 November, am very much hoping there are no issues... for obvious reasons but also because we're flying to Australia for a month of rattling around in a 4WD campervan the following week. This will either make a fabulous story in the future or be the stupidest decision I've made thus far. We'll see!

Also glad to read I'm not the only one struggling to remember those bloody vitamins... Blush

JoMalones · 11/11/2015 10:21

Wow this post moves so quickly! I still feel like I've got a bad hangover, can't bend over without feeling sick and change my mind on food on an hourly basis.
We told the children though who are ecstatic and now understand the sickness at least.
I've already got my favourite maternity jeans as nothing fits any more!

mrslewis2015 · 11/11/2015 10:23

Hi everyone, I've not been on here much recently, works just been so mental and I've been collapsing in a heap as soon as I get home! Booked a day off today to relax!

So sorry to hear mauds news, I'm guessing your not reading this anymore, but just in case you are, my thoughts are very much with you. Thanks

Glad your feeling better mrsmugoo! I'd do anything for a coffee can't wait to start feeling human again!

R.e cysts, the only thing I know is my mum had a huge (size of a melon... Poor woman!) cyst whilst pregnant with me, caused her a lot of pain but didn't effect the baby! Really hope that everyone's shrink and go away!

Hope everyone is ok, loved catching up on how you all are xx

bikingintherain · 11/11/2015 10:52

We've told our DC and they are very excited. But utterly unable to keep their mouths shut, so more and more people know now. We told them after the 9 week scan (which is the equivalent to the 12 week scan here) and I'm now 10+1.

I haven't been taking vitamins except folic acid. Something utterly irrational in me doesn't like taking them, but what that is I can't quite put my finger on!!

laughingGnomette · 11/11/2015 11:02

Yes! An all-day hangover is a spot on description to how I'm feeling. It does seem to be fading now though (9+2) mercifully.

lepudding - so jealous of your holiday!! I'd say take your notes and make sure your travel insurance is water-tight.

mrsmugoo - yay for feeling better!! Xx

GrubbyWindows · 11/11/2015 11:26

Just had my booking in apt- no Doppler offered, I'm afraid! I'm 9+5.

Re vits, I wouldn't worry too much- in lots of places they don't even tell you to take any unless you have hyperemesis (sp?), they just trust you to eat well. If you are eating half decently they are just belts and braces.

HarleyQuinn90 · 11/11/2015 11:27

Thanks for all the posts re cysts it's put my mind at ease knowing they are quite common Smile
Had my first actual morning sickness today bang on 8 weeks! I have been dry wretching recently usually after brushing my teeth Confused this happened in my previous pregnancies too.

Here is baby, he/she doesn't have two heads the bit on the right hand side is the yolk sack with will disappear in the next couple of weeks when the placenta takes over Grin

PrincessPunzie · 11/11/2015 11:33

I'm 10 weeks today, and weirdly my sickness has been at its worst in the last week (nowhere near as bad as for some/most of you though so I can't complain). Gotta love the Ovia app - my baby is the size of a Lego man today! Pretty apt as we collect the minifigures Smile I'm going to draw a Lego man into my pregnancy/baby book for this week - is anyone else keeping one? I started last week (the one I bought only starts at nine weeks) and felt most odd addressing an unborn baby and trying to sound interesting. It has a space each week for a pic - I did a "bump" (no bump at all here) pic last week but that will get old fast, especially with it not having surfaced yet - will probably do pics of family members etc. for subsequent weeks. I hope the whole thing remains a novelty and doesn't become a drag though!

Impatiently waiting for my scan date to show up in the post - it could take up to two weeks and it's only been five days. Hmm...

TattedPixie · 11/11/2015 11:34

Just rang up to make my booking appointment. Next Wednesday at 10am. Can anyone tell me if I need to take anything with me. This is my first pregnancy
