Yes beano it's fine
Peanut butter on oatcakes has been keeping my nausea at bay

earlgreydrinker · 08/11/2015 18:23

Was meant to have my booking in session with my midwife this morning (home visit) but they cancelled as they had a home birth to attend to. Hopefully they can squeeze me / I can squeeze them in this week!

Sorry everyone is feeling rough. Same here - nausea and exhaustion. Not helped by a 2 year old in full 2 year old mode this weekend!

Lovelybeano · 08/11/2015 18:32

Thanks earlgrey oh bought me some peanut butter and Philadelphia, he says it'll be a bit more nutritious to have on toast than just butter, which I've been eating a lot of lately xx

mrsmugoo · 08/11/2015 18:45

Well I've actually had a much better day today. Only been sick once, no heaving and managed to eat a small amount of food. Have raging heartburn though instead lolz.

MIL is coming to help out with DS tomorrow which is brilliant, he's at nursery tues-thurs and my parents are here Friday so at least I don't have to worry too much about looking after him too much this week.

bikingintherain · 08/11/2015 19:02

That's good news mrsmugoo a day feeling a bit more normal, it sounds like you really needed it.

I think I've worked out the main thing that causes the horrible taste I have in my mouth constantly which I'm sure contributes to the nausea. Sugar. In any form, glucose, lactose, fructose, I'm convinced that's what is is. I ate salted cashews today and felt fine and no horrible taste. Unfortunately sugar is in everything, but particularly the above forms seem to trigger me. Im not sure I can limit my diet that much (or should, it would be incredibly bad for you) so I guess I just have to get on with it.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/11/2015 20:04

I need some advice please ladies. So my work trousers don't fit me anymore around the waste, Iv already gone up in size from an 8 to a 12, so thinking now of getting maternity trousers, only I'm not sure which ones to go for. The ones with an elasticated band, does the bump need to be big with those or does a little bump look ok. As you can probably tell this is my first pregnancy so I had no idea that I would be as big as I am at only 7 weeks (well I'm not even 7 weeks till Wednesday) I think it's probably more bloated than anything else.

mrsmugoo · 08/11/2015 20:18

The maternity trousers and jeans with the elastic under-bump panels are ideal for small bumps and no one can tell you're wearing them either - go for it if it's going to make you more comfy.

I preferred over-bump panels when I got bigger as the under bump ones fell down a bit but loved the under- bump skinny jeans from ASOS until probably about 25 weeks, maybe more.

bikingintherain · 08/11/2015 20:29

I agree, trousers that fit and look half reasonable, but you will probably get to a point where you need to get one or two more pairs for the last 2 months or so.

I never liked over the bump as they made me too hot, although I seem to remember they were comfortable other than that. Maybe just get the bare minimum as you may well find when you start announcing that people offer to lend you maternity stuff.

Between my DS and SiL we generated quite a lot, and also lent it to our friends, it was good because then it's easier to justify buying one or two nicer bits.

earlgreydrinker · 08/11/2015 20:48

I hardly bought any maternity stuff last time (I'm tall and didn't have a huge bump till nearer the end) but lived in the super soft underbump jeans from new look.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/11/2015 21:51

Thank you very much for the advice, so under the bump seem to be the best whilst bump is small then is that right? Unfortunately I don't have anyone that could borrow me maternity clothes. Friends that I know are different build and hight to me. And not sure if they even wore maternity clothes to be honest.

MagicDucky · 08/11/2015 22:35

Well I have had the worst day ever! I been sick/ heaving all day and spy nothing down. I've got a really sore tummy from it all and I just feel crap! Calling the doctor first thing to get some anti sickness tablets, Hoping they help. I can't carry on like this that's for sure!

Hope you ladies are all feeling better! This stage really sucks!

Sorry to moan!

MagicDucky · 08/11/2015 22:36

Spy?! I meant keeping. Oh dear.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 08/11/2015 22:45

Sorry to hear that ducky. Hope you feel better soon and hope doctor can help.

emma85x · 08/11/2015 23:06

Pample I'm a teacher too. HOD in a secondary school. Absolutely knackered all the time!!

For those of you discussing maternity clothes, have you looked at Seraphine? Some lovely stuff! It's my first baby and a size 16/18 so think it might take a while for me to show?!?!

mrsmugoo · 09/11/2015 07:39

I stuck to new look, H&M and ASOS for maternity but then I didn't need smart work clothes because I work in casual so it's easier that way!

Lovelybeano · 09/11/2015 07:46

I've got brown discharge, I've never had anything like this before and I haven't had my booking in appointment with the midwife so I'm not too sure what my first point of call would be docs or epu ? I'm rhesus negative aswell so will I need an anti d injection even if it's brown ?

nehagarg · 09/11/2015 07:48

11 weeks today and have had THE worst headache all day yesterday. Nothing I did made it go away and we had people visiting so couldnt even spend all day in bed. Sad

Hope you feel better soon ducky. The 12 week mark cant come soon enough. So sorry for everyone feeling poorly. mrsmugoo Hope you have a good day today too.

Thanks for all the maternity advice. I am a first timer too. Hoping to borrow maternity stuff from a friend but definitely want some nice stuff of my own. I have a bit of a tum already but havent made up my mind if its bump or bloat. Either way - soft elasticated clothes sound like heaven right now!

Thanks guys. Got myself a doctors appointment for later today. They don't usually give them out that quick must be because I'm pregnant! Fingers crossed for that.

Hope you're all feeling good this morning!

carrie1008 · 09/11/2015 08:32

Lovely I would try your EPU first, it may be that they only take Drs referral rather than self referral but they will be able to advise you. Fingers crossed all is OK x

MaudGonneMad · 09/11/2015 08:35

I have brown discharge as well, and light cramping all day yesterday. So worried. I was scanned at 5 weeks 6 days (after brown discharge) and saw a heartbeat. Don't know what to do now - should I call my GP again? Don't want to make a nuisance out of myself.

I'm also due to travel for work tomorrow - 5 hour train journey, hour long presentation and an overnight stay. Just don't know what to do. Sad

Betty79 · 09/11/2015 08:44

Morning, didn't hear my alarm this morning and woke up late, not good when the sickness kicks in too!

I've had brown/pink and light blood stained spotting and cramping on and off so far which is why I went for an early private scan. Had it at 5 weeks then again from 7-8 weeks, but only really when wiping. Fingers crossed it's nothing and all is well.

JellyBaby26 · 09/11/2015 09:45

Pleas never worry about making a nuisance of yourself! Nothing's like that can lead to devastating consequences! If you are worried, call your GP or EPU.

Last time I putyself in maternity clothes way too early but I was just excited. I had no bump until anout 24 weeks but by the end I was like a house boat - absolutely huge!! I have a really comfy pair or under bump blooming marvellous black skinny jeans that are really kind to my figure and would really recommend.

I don't know if anyone has said but you can extend your waistband by using a hairtie through the button hole. Gives you an extra inch or so !

I am suffering with a case of the horn at the moment! I think last time we only dtd 4 times as I was totally off it but I can't keep my hands off this time! I don't know what to do with myself!!!
Makes it interesting having a 5 month old in the next2me though.....

Lovelybeano · 09/11/2015 09:51

I called epu, they want me to go for a scan, they have warned that I won't get seen until near the end of the week, but I need to be referred by the gp :( just waiting for the gp to call back xx hope everyone else is having a better day xx

MaudGonneMad · 09/11/2015 09:57

I called EPU as well, but they just said watch and wait, that there was nothing they could do anyway Confused

carrie1008 · 09/11/2015 10:05

Just went into the stats to update my EDD but it's showing as blank for me...can anyone else see the data?
