Been lying here for what seems like hours, tried not to look at my clock to hope that it wasn't 4 am - it is - joy! Don't know if it's pregnancy or my oh's snoring that's waking me in the middle of the blimmin night.....every night!!!

emma85x · 07/11/2015 07:26

So sorry to everyone who is feeling shitty. It's great to know we all have each other.

obsessed I hope you're managing to get some sleep.

Good advice about getting out and about, going to try and go for a nice long walk tonight too.

Advice please ladies - Yesterday I was getting out of my car and I felt a really sharp pain across my front, very low down (just above my pant line) This has happened when I stand up (only from my car, not the sofa or anything) and it can also happen when I roll over in bed. Really concerned. I've Googled it (obviously!!) and it says it's just the uterus Stretching??

Any ideas? As it's a Saturday too, I'm not sure where to turn for advice.

Thank you so much in advance. A worried first timer xxxx

emma85x · 07/11/2015 07:28

Ps) I'm 8+1

Dirtycat · 07/11/2015 07:32

Hi Emma - I know exactly what you mean. I used to get that pain a lot with my first. It was really sharp and my hand would shoot to my abdomen. In the end I decided it was my uterus stretching, and everything was fine. Interestingly I haven't had it at all second time around and I figured that's because my uterus has already been stretched once. Try not to worry, I think it's pretty normal with your first xx

carrie1008 · 07/11/2015 07:50

I have the same Emma I think it's a normal type of ache for first timers. I've been up since 5am...I think it's a mix of preggie insomnia and nerves for my early scan today!

Rose2806 · 07/11/2015 07:56

Hi Emma, I'm getting mild pains on my sides just above where my ovaries should be when I turn over in bed, I'm putting it down to broad ligament pain due to everything stretching. If you are worried over the weekend and want better advice though your local epu should be open.

nehagarg · 07/11/2015 08:15

Ugh - so sorry that so many people are feeling so shitty.

Good luck today Carrie Smile

beano - sorry you are feeling so poorly. Hope you feel better this morning and had a good night's sleep at least.

I am 10+5 today and have been feeling much better since I hit 10 weeks. Still tired a lot and waking at 5 AM but at least the nausea and cramps are completely gone. Boobs dont hurt as much either but they do feel like bowling balls when I take my bra off. Is this the light at the end of the first trimester tunnel? I am not quite 12 weeks yet but I am guessing this is the second trimester honeymoon period I have heard so much about? Sorry, never made it this far before so from here on everything is new to me. Grin

Midwife used her doppler yesterday so I know peanut is safe and sound. (Otherwise I would be oh so panicked)

Lovelybeano · 07/11/2015 08:21

emma it's very likely to be stretching pains, I got them all the way through both pregnancys and afterwards when it also shrinks back, especially whilst bf. If you're concerned or you start bleeding just give your midwife or epu a call they should be able to reassure you xxx

Had a really early night last night and the oh couldn't sleep because I was snoring lol hoping I feel better for it today, we're out Xmas shopping so it should keep my mind off feeling crappy, hope everyone else has a good day xx

emma85x · 07/11/2015 08:37

Dirtycat Thank you, will remain positive!

Carrie Good luck with your scan! Let us know how you get on.

Lovelybeano I hope your Xmas shopping goes well. You're very organised! Smile

Lovelybeano · 07/11/2015 08:45

I have to be emma , I'm a mobile beautician so the 6 weeks before Xmas is absolutely manic with people having Xmas work parties, then all of my clients want their treatments done so they look nice for Xmas & new year so I like to try and get most of it done before the madness starts :)

Violet88 · 07/11/2015 09:52

I had to move my scan appointment forward to yesterday afternoon as at lunch time yesterday I started bleeding bright red blood. Thank god all seems well and baby looks fine, heart beating and has grown from 16mm on Monday to 19.5mm yesterday. She could not find any cause for my bleed and there was no blood near to the baby. And the bleeding seems to have stopped now. Really thought that was it, so very relieved now!

Also baby looks even bigger and I think I can see a leg on this picture!

Lovelybeano I'm also going christmas shopping today for our nephews in Scotland and MIL and FIL are going to visit them next weekend, last opportunity before christmas so they can take our presents up too.

Good luck to the person having a scan today xx

MagicDucky · 07/11/2015 10:02

Emma I had this all through last pregnancy and now this one too. I asked my midwife and my doctor who both told me its round ligament pain caused by my uterus stretching, and, as uncomfortable as it is, it's nothing to worry about.

MiraclesDoHappen82 · 07/11/2015 10:40

Lovely scan picture violet how far along are you?

MollieRos · 07/11/2015 10:55

Violet lovely scan picture Smile

bikingintherain · 07/11/2015 10:59

Lovely scan violet, I'm so pleased everything is ok.

And pleased for nehagarg that things are going so well. I definitely felt better during trimester 2, in fact both occasions I've redecorated a room! DH nearly killed me when he found me up aladder hanging wallpaper at 33weeks this time we might move house!

I'm into Christmas shopping mode, but I mostly get it delivered online to DMIL, I think their spare room will be taken over with boxes until we arrive and I get wrapping! I love the Christmas cheer of the shops at Christmas but not the stress involved when you have the pressure to buy something!

obsessedlex · 07/11/2015 12:07

I'm on the way to London for lunch in a posh restaurant with and old friend - really hope I can stomach the food!

kezod · 07/11/2015 13:03

Hi Ladies, so glad we're going through this together, I'm absolutely knackered!
Had my scan yesterday, saw the heartbeat and I'm 8 wks today- yeah! so exicited, told my parents who are over the moon for us (again!) and now were talking about moving house! Think I'm about to loose my day to rightmove!
Miserable day here but I hope people have a lovely weekend, I might actually go back to bed for a power nap before I start house hunting!

obsessedlex · 07/11/2015 16:46

I've had some bright red spotting - just as my nausea seems to have eased these last two days - oh says I'm fine, I just don't know what to think - what would you do? I had a scan two weeks ago and saw the heartbeat so odds are in my favour.

GuessHowMuchILoveGin · 07/11/2015 18:04

I'd contact your EPAU for any new bleeding. If you can't self refer then out of hours GP probably the best shot at a weekend. Hope you are ok.

I have been feeling foul these past few days. Had a week off work and all I've done is sleep. No idea how I'll cope at work next week.

In other news I finally have a booking appt with the MW - this Thursday.

carrie1008 · 07/11/2015 18:28

Back from my scan...saw a beautiful blob on screen with a healthy heartbeat and good implantation! We're a few days ahead too so the magic 12 weeks is just a little bit closer Grin

Betty79 · 07/11/2015 18:51

Hi I've been lurking but not got round to posting yet.

I'm 36, this is my 3rd pg, have 2 DD's 12 and 10, this is mine and dp's 1st together.

Been having some slight spotting so went for an early scan today and all is well, actually measured a few days ahead am 8 wks but measured at 8wks 4 days. Good strong heartbeat, so feeling a lot more reassured. Glad the feeling rough and sickness is for a reason. Tried sickness bands today and they seem to be working.

MollieRos · 07/11/2015 18:56

Maud I get migraines and headaches, and up until a couple of weeks ago I had pretty much had a constant headache which occasionally ramped up into a properly bad headache. Happily I only got one full blown migraine though. I used to medicate similarly to you, the only thing I've found since I've been pregnant which helped was a pint of ribena for the fluid and sugar, water, a cup of tea for more fluid and caffeine, then a couple of paracetamol. Alternatively, lots of coke for sugar and caffeine, but there's not as much fluid that way. I only ever managed to dull them down a bit, and my migraine was pretty horrible, but more bearable anyway. Luckily my headaches have finally stopped over the past couple of weeks but if they come back I'll have to go to the GP to ask if there's any medication I can take.

MagicDucky · 07/11/2015 19:55

I just sat in tears for about 20 minutes. Poor OH had no idea what to do. I just feel so rubbish! I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired!

Sorry for moaning I just feel so rubbish!

Hope everyone else is feeling better! Loving all the scan pictures! Congratulations you you lucky girls!

Violet88 · 07/11/2015 20:53

Miracles I'm 8+5 today.

Obsessed Did you manage to talk to anyone? Do you have a 24 hr number you can ring for advice? If you have no luck with GP/EPAU over the weekend, some private scan places do Sundays, I know the one near me does. They were brilliant when I had my bleed yesterday, added me straight on to the end of their list for that day.

Carrie and Betty congrats on your scans!! Good that youve both gained some days!!

Magicducky sorry your feeling rubbish, have you got any anti-sickness meds from the docs? xx

mrslewis2015 · 07/11/2015 21:28

Sorry Ive been away this weekend so have just caught up, lovely to see all the scans and good news, sorry to hear how hard a time people are having, I hope you are feeling better soon!

we told my parents this weekend, they are so excited, lovely to chat with my step mum (who raised me) about what happened to her in her 3 pregnancies and to my dad about my mums!

Feeling happy and rotten, so very tired and sick, but nice to have the news out there!
