How annoying lemons. And it's not like it's easy to work out what for as you've been feeling so ill. Hope you manage to get in touch with the midwife quickly.

mrsmugoo · 06/11/2015 12:34

Just made an appointment at the doctors for my sickness but it's not til next Thursday. Ugh. Hopefully get my flu jab at the same time.

SliceofLemon · 06/11/2015 12:46

rose I am 7+5 today and woke up this morning thinking wow my boobs don't hurt nearly as much! So think it is normal for them to settle down about now. Also woke up without the horrible nauseous feeling I have become accustomed to this week, however it's back with vengeance! Nausea really is pretty miserable and has definitely taken away my 'yay I'm pregnant, happy all the time' attitude. Peppermint works a little bit for me, tea and imperials!

mrsmugoo · 06/11/2015 12:53

I'm 9+1 and my boobs have been normal throughout. Last time they didn't get sore and tender until 10/11 weeks and then stayed that way all the way through pregnancy and 10 months of breastfeeding. I can't tell you what a treat it was to finally go to bed without a bra on after all that time!

BiffleRoo · 06/11/2015 13:18

Have decided that pregnancy is bloody hard work when you already have 3 children. The workload is relentless and I'm exhausted. DH is amazing and does what he can but isn't always here. I really need a holiday. On my own. To sleep.

MadrigalElectromotive · 06/11/2015 13:25

Hi everyone, it has been ages since I posted but I've been reading along. Smile

I've been in hospital again with hyperemesis and it is really taking it out of me, but I did have a scan last weekend, which was lovely and we saw the heartbeat and it was waving its little arms at us. Grin It gave me a bit of a boost and I allowed myself to feel quite excited. She also moved me along one day, so I am now due on 2nd June, which makes me 10+1 today.

I have booked a sex scan for the 20th Dec so we will know before Christmas, and I am very excited about that. 12 week scan is 2 weeks today.

Will try to keep up a bit better again now the antiemetics I'm on seem to be a bit more effective!

nehagarg · 06/11/2015 14:17

Oh no Madrigal .. You poor thing! Hope you feel a little better now.

You will probably be the first among us to know the sex. how exciting Smile

nehagarg - I don't think I saw the same midwife more than once while I was pregnant with DS. Hopefully things have improved but I doubt it.

nehagarg · 06/11/2015 15:35

As long as they are all just as lovely .. Grin

Hugs to everyone feeling poorly at the moment. I'm not feeling too sick or sore but the fatigue is just crushing :(

17caterpillars1mouse · 06/11/2015 16:01

Does anybody know if bruising more easily in pregnancy Is a thing? A few bumps here and there comes with my job but noticing I'm becoming covered in little bruises and just noticed a bruise where the midwife took blood which I've never had before with a blood test.

Also is anybody's hair noticeably greasier much more quickly. Before pregnancy I washed my hair every 2-3 days but now having to wash daily or it looks dire and it looks a bit icky even only a few hours after washing. The half an hour it takes to dry my hair every day teamed with constant nausea is not fun and letting it dry naturally is not an option unless I want the ultimate frizz, dragged through a bush backwards look

JellyBaby26 · 06/11/2015 16:07

I think anything new you can put down to pregnancy!

mrsmugoo · 06/11/2015 16:07

Last time around my hair went longer between washes, this time it's greasy twice as quick!

nehagarg · 06/11/2015 16:19

My hair is extremely dry! I agree with Jelly .. Anything new - Pregnancy!

Potkettleblack2 · 06/11/2015 16:19

This time and last time my hair has gotten really greasy! They say pregnancy hair is supposed to be beautiful-but mine was horrid!!! And then I lost soooo much hair after the birth/stopping breastfeeding. For months! Lots of people made remarks about how many stray long hairs they were finding! They didn't know it was all my hair-but I did!

Rose2806 · 06/11/2015 16:21

Thanks for the reassurance everyone, I'm going to make the most of feeling ok-ish before it comes back!will also find myself some moisturiser as my skin is really dry after not using any for weeks:-(

Definitely noticed the greasy hair as well, I normally do mine every other day and need to do it every day at the moment if I want it to look reasonable!

Not sure about the bruising, anything like that I would get checked out by the doctor though just to be on the safe side.

MollieRos · 06/11/2015 17:29

My hair is really greasy too recently, and I hadn't actually clocked that it might be pregnancy related!

Princess it sounds like your midwife is lovely and reassuring. It seems like you've got a good awareness of the things which might make you anxious, so as long as you keep a good healthy diet going, and keep talking to your midwife, I'm sure you'll do great.

madrigal sorry you've been having a tough time, glad you're feeling a bit better, and scan before christmas is definitely something to look forward to!

My day of feeling not too bad yesterday was counteracted by a miserable morning, dashing backwards and forwards to the toilet to retch, then coming back to eat something to try and stave off the nausea. Grim!

MaudGonneMad · 06/11/2015 17:33

Any advice on migraine in pregnancy? Have had a rotten one since yesterday Sad

I usually take ibuprofen and codeine together, or if it's a really bad one, imigran.

Have tried paracetamol with full fat Coke, but it's not touching it. Migraine sickness coupled with 1st trimester nausea is not fun.

Was supposed to spend the day researching and writing, but just couldn't manage looking at a screen. Now feeling rather stressed as I have a research deadline on Tuesday that I have to meet. Looks like I'll be working all weekend (if the migraine goes away).

GrubbyWindows · 06/11/2015 18:18

Ugh lots of people having tough days! Sorry to hear that!

biffle I think up the duff with three kids is the definition of hard work- you can be super proud you are even approaching functional!!!

princess being pregnant is really tough if you have history of eating disorders and body image trouble, your midwife/gp should totally be referring you to support. I'm really shocked re her giving away your weight! There is a specialist nhs midwifery practice in my area which looks after women who have a history of mental health issues, including eating disorders, there may be one near you? You sound like you are doing so incredibly well! But you should be offered support, because it's s tough gig, and can be so triggering.

These June babies are going to have some amazing mums!!!

Lellana · 06/11/2015 20:08

17caterpillars - I read somewhere that greasy hair is definitely a pregnancy symptom as your scalp produces more oil. I'm the same, only usually washed my hair 3-4 days but don't think I will get away with that.
I've just got my letter through for my booking appointment with the midwife but it says I won't get a scam until I'm 14 weeks! I don't think I can wait that long. Has anyone had a private reassurance scan?

PrincessPunzie · 06/11/2015 20:12

Thanks mollie and Grubby - to be fair to the midwife, I did indicate my preference for private counselling early on (the NHS are so bad with eating disorders and body dysmorphia that I wouldn't let them near my treatment again) and she suggested seeing my counsellor every few months just to check I'm keeping my head above water. Finding out my weight was one of the worst things I could imagine and I've borne that today, so fingers crossed! I slept most of the day after the appointment as I whipped myself into a near panic attack over it last night, so I kind of feel like I've overcome a big hurdle today. I really appreciate your replies Smile

PrincessPunzie · 06/11/2015 20:18

Lellana I was told anything between 11 and 14 weeks. If I have to wait til 14 weeks I think I'll have a nervous breakdown!

Lovelybeano · 06/11/2015 20:36

Tired & poorly Sad telling you ladies cos you all understand what it's like, I don't really like moaning to my oh too much, I don't want him to think I'm a miserable sod but I feel like absolute rubbish xx

BabySocks · 06/11/2015 21:40

:( lovelybeano

iamdivergent · 06/11/2015 21:55

I find it hard feeling so shitty, feel like it was just yesterday I was feeling amazing and normal! Been at family for fireworks tonight, this is the latest I have been up for about a week, I feel quite good actually, being outdoors and watching the fireworks took my mind off things so I felt pretty good. Just heading to bed now though
