Loving Dumper Truck for a girl Suz. You could call her Dumpy for short? Wink

MyNameIsSuz · 10/11/2015 18:16

My thinking exactly trinpy!

My friend is doing much better, saw our first photos of new baby today Smile. She is absolutely gorgeous and I love her name (but will not post it here, it's too identifying).

Congratulations on your boy, Indom! Rembrandt is a seriously cool name. I also like Romily, Paper. We sadly had to rule out all the R names as that's DH and the kids' surname initial. Almost snorted my tea at Dumpy though ...

TriJo have you considered Gabriel as in the actor Gabriel Byrne? I think he's Irish and it's a traditional Catholic name. Gabriel Joseph sounds rather nice to me - Conor Joseph is good too, great with the single 'n' spelling.

RhubarbAndMustard · 10/11/2015 19:09

Trijo I think Conor Joseph sounds fab. Both names are on our list but hadn't considered the one 'n' spelling. I really love Oliver but it is so popular.

We asked DS for his choices. He said George for a boy and Princess for a girl. Lucky we are having a boy!

Missikat · 10/11/2015 22:31

Congrats Indom on little boy no2! Rembrandt is a strong name! Love nn Remy (would be on my list but DH has vetoed it for being 'too French').

Maybe, Max was on short list when I was pregnant with DS but my closest mum friend had twins recently, one called Max so that is off the list this time round unfortunately as it's a great name.

Vroc, my DH is the same, quick to say no but no suggestions of his own to add to the mix! I love Romily too Paper but again DH says no.

TriJo · 10/11/2015 23:16

TheMShip Gabriel is my dad's name and we don't want too much close family name repetition!

Boy names are hard...

IndomitabIe · 10/11/2015 23:29

Ha ha! Missi - too French?! It's Dutch!

vroc I love Romily. I met one once, she was lovely! (At the same place I met a Loveday and a Cedar - both names have stuck with me).

Me624 · 11/11/2015 11:48

Morning all. Some very unusual name ideas! We have some ideas for DS, I want something that's not in the top 20 but also not very unusual!

My back is better now but I am still sleeping really badly. Anyone else the same? I just wake up every 2 hours or so and find it difficult to get back to sleep. Baby had a little kick last night both times I was awake though which was nice!

BeautifulLiar · 11/11/2015 12:01

Me I'm not sleeping well at all. Was awake 12-3 last night :(

Rosieblossom123 · 11/11/2015 12:03

Me I'm struggling to sleep too, baby normally kicks me before going to bed and I'll sleep for 2 hours and I'm wide awake :( It's exhausting and I struggle at work with the lack of sleep! might talk to my mw about it on Monday at my 25 weeks appointment!

vroc81 · 11/11/2015 12:44

Me I have struggled to sleep for ages now, at the moment it's far worse as cough is totally stopping me sleep but even without it I'm not sleeping well.. My boss just joyously announced its only going to get worse.. he isn't unfortunately sat close enough to hit him

I do at least have company with a bit of dancing when I am awake at night, which is nice Grin

TheMshipIsBack · 11/11/2015 12:59

TriJo Hah. I have to admit to a little bias, it's my son's name too Grin But no kidding about boy names! We found out the gender of this baby in part because we had no idea what to do about a boy name but knew exactly what we wanted for a girl. Thank goodness we're team pink, bullet dodged!

Sleeeeeeeeeep ... oh for a solid night ... if it's not my hips aching or baby dancing, it's DS coughing and wanting water, then dozing in the armchair in his room while he drifts off again.

hayleycookie · 11/11/2015 13:11

Lol Suz our children are just spoiling us with their superb name ideas!

Sleep?? I vaguely remember that. I think of it more as ''night naps'' now as I only get a couple of hours at a time, if that! But baby boy is kicking finally! I'm not sure whether it's because he's growing, or because my placenta is moving up. Hopefully both! Can finally feel him on the outside now but DH is yet to be patient enough to catch a kick.

18 weeks left til D-Day! and probably two more if he's anything like his brother

I'm expecting a big one again this time, even though midwifes software has predicted a 7lb 12oz baby.... we shall see! Hoping that at my next appointment she puts more data in the software and gets a more up to date estimate. Does anyone elses midwife do that?

hayleycookie · 11/11/2015 13:40

The MN random name generator just suggest ''Poowee'' as a name. There are no words...

RhubarbAndMustard · 11/11/2015 15:00

My son would love 'Poowee' hayley

Just had my growth scan and baby's tummy is now on the 94th centile, which is within normal ranges, but might need another at 35 weeks. Was lovely to see little man again, especially as DP could make it this time.

Another one who struggles with sleeping. 'Night naps' is a great explanation. I alternate between hip pain, back pain and needing to wee!

LCR77 · 11/11/2015 17:02

Loving the names. We're a bit stuck and haven't discussed anything since the scan. Etta was our second choice last time (DD's name is Iris) still really love it but DP keeps throwing out our reasons not to use it before. Love Athena too but not sure if goes with DP's surname as would rhyme a bit. Like the idea of keeping a goddess theme going. Also like Aurora and Lyra DP vetoed cos it sounds like liar

Going to use my tactic of last time by keeping quiet till close to due date and DP hasn't come up with any ideas so has to go along with my choice!

Rosieblossom123 · 11/11/2015 17:14

LCR77 I love Iris Dp doesn't want it because my step son has an ancient greek name already so we're 100% set for Athena! I also love Aurora, such a beautiful name and sleeping beauty is my favorite Disney film :) haha

Me624 · 11/11/2015 18:03

I love Aurora too. My other favourite for a girl is Aurelia. If we were having a girl though DH would not have let me use either of them! They fall into the "too unusual" category for him! It's tough because the name is something you really do both have to be on board with! Luckily we're having a boy and we've got a few names we both like!

MyNameIsSuz · 11/11/2015 18:30

I love aurelia me! It was on our list last time but we had a ds. We found we agreed more on girl names, so I'm similarly delighted to be having one - much easier!

I definitely have my heart set on Sylvie or Cecilia, dh keeps suggesting more names so I don't think he's convinced. I'm just keeping quiet and will spring it on him again after the birth - he almost let me have Tobias last time in a similar move!

Need a catch up on here. Really upset today 2nd day with no movement at all after feeling her everyday for two weeks. Hospital won't see me though. Feeling lost. Tried cold water, fizzy etc, lying down and nothing
Sorry for not replying on here today just feel down :(

MyNameIsSuz · 11/11/2015 19:00

Sorry to hear that ginger. How many weeks are you? My mw said I wouldn't get a pattern of regular movement until a few more weeks - 24 or 28 I think, I can't remember. Have you tried having a very cold sugary drink and lying down for half an hour on your left hand side? That's what they usually tell you to do.

Failing any of that, can you call your midwife instead of the hospital? Not sure what your setup is but here you can either ring the doctor's or the number for the community midwife unit. My midwife told me to ring if I was worried, yours might be the same - they can't scan you but they can whip out the Doppler for a listen. And it might be good to talk about the anxiety you're having.

MyNameIsSuz · 11/11/2015 19:02

Sorry, I'm blind, you've tried the cold drink. Hope you're able to speak to your midwife.

Gingerlady123 · 11/11/2015 19:07

Well I just moved onto my back and felt a couple of very light feelings but nothing like the kicks I've felt in the past as oh was able to feel on Friday. It was so faint though not even sure was baby.
I bet she has moved positions. I'll send midwife a text tomorrow though.
I'm 21+4 fundal placenta, first baby.

Loving all the names here

QforCucumber · 11/11/2015 19:11

At 21 weeks she still has loads of room, possibly moved as far back as she can and got herself comfortable.
Still worth getting In touch with the midwife to settle your mind, I'd have a chat with her about your anxiety too as she may be able to help.

Gingerlady123 · 11/11/2015 19:14

Thank you.
Definitely going to speak about my anxiety. She's really nice so I hope she understands and doesn't think I'm silly.

Re girls names me and oh agree on
Sophie And Sydney
I also like Skye and he likes Iris. Middle name is going to be Louise after me.
