Good luck with the scan today Indom hope all goes well!

I keep suggesting one of our cats names and one of the horses but that's mostly to wind up DH but it's been vetoed..

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 10:49

Haha Missi Dp felt lots of kicks but I had to tell him off because he's so impatient too, as soon as he looks away little madam was kicking away, I had to turn the tv off to let him concentrate Grin haha

I felt her move this morning when I was getting ready, was quiet shocked though because I only feel movement when I laying down or sitting at my desk.

Dp and I decided we will name her 'Athena' what do you girls think?

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 10:52

Good luck with the scan today Indom Flowers

BeautifulLiar · 10/11/2015 11:04

Rosie I like it! It's different but not "made up", pretty not chavvy and well you know I like ancient history! Haha

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 11:13

Beautiful thanks hun I remember you saying :) we want to name her Athena Aubrey! Dp and I love ancient Greek names haha we'll have little gladiators running around soon! haha

IndomitabIe · 10/11/2015 11:30

Thanks for the good wishes!

Scan all good, cleared to deliver at local MLU. And it's a boy! Grin

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 11:34

Congrads Indom :) Team blue is definitely wining on this thread! haha

BeautifulLiar · 10/11/2015 11:35

Aww cute image Rosie!

Congratulations Indom!! Another mummy's boy to look after you :)

marmiteandcheeseplease · 10/11/2015 11:58

Congrats indom!

I like the name Athena Rosie Smile

Terrible back ache today, I think I am starting to pay for having to be on my feet all day when we went to the zoo!

Trinpy · 10/11/2015 11:59

Yay! Congrats Indom! How old is your ds? (or should I say ds1 now? Smile)

Dh got all ds' old newborn clothes down from the attic last night - I'd forgotten how much we had! I'll get rid of some of the ropier looking stuff so ds2 can have some new things too, but we currently have 13 sleepsuits and 18 vests in newborn size and 18 sleepsuits and 16 vests in up to 1 month size. I remember having to change ds' entire outfit 4-6 times a day when he was tiny though so at least I'm prepared!

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 12:23

Thanks Marmite I want her here now to use the name haha

So I bought her 10 pairs of shoes is that bad, dp had a go at me yesterday, I really couldn't help it Blush
As I'm a ftm I wanted to ask regarding sleep suits do I buy 0-3 or up to 1 months for when baby is born? I really don't know, worried that 0-3 will be too big and up to 1 months is too small ahhhh I don't know Confused

IndomitabIe · 10/11/2015 13:35

I like Athena too!

We've just had lunch and pretty much picked a name! What do you think of Rembrandt (Remy)?

Also, just got one of the Motorola video monitors for £60 (down from £110) in mothercare - offer is on till 18th.

hayleycookie · 10/11/2015 14:22

Indom I like it! It's different, but not so different it's weird, if that makes sense!

We're still struggling with names! We keep asking our son for names, but he's really into Thomas & Friends at the moment so the names we keep getting are Gordon, Mavis, Henry and Percy. We did get a 'Toby' out of him once which we're considering! You all have such good names picked!

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 14:32

Indo I like it too, like Hayley said it's different but in a good way :) I love different and unusual names!

QforCucumber · 10/11/2015 14:34

We are sticking with traditional with either George or William if it's a boy,

and no idea for if its a girl - I like Scarlett and Robyn, DP is unsure, definitely Edith as a middle name.

Not really felt any kicks standing up, and DP hasn't felt any at all yet but he will put his hand there for all of 30 seconds and then get distracted and move haha.

will have to check out the monitor offer indom been looking at the motorola ones on amazon!

maybebabybee · 10/11/2015 14:41

Our preferred boys' name is Max, I think we'll probably go for that. Unfortunately my cousin and DP's best friend's wife are both due before me so I sincerely hope they don't use it first!

Otherwise we are a bit stuck, DP likes Arlo but I'm a bit so-so about that.

Me624 · 10/11/2015 14:51

Rosie I love Athena!

As for sleepsuits I am also a first time mum but I've been buying some newborn size and some 0-3 and planning to take some of each in my hospital bag. The different brands seem to vary so much in size though! I bought some plain white John Lewis vests and they're absolutely tiny in newborn size. Then the Debenhams 0-3 sleepsuits I bought yesterday are enormous!

Rosieblossom123 · 10/11/2015 14:59

Thanks Me :) I agree the sizes are a bit mad, I bought 0-3 months sleepsuits from M&S and they're massive and some from mothercare and they're tiny!! That's a good idea taking some of each actually :)

marmiteandcheeseplease · 10/11/2015 15:22

yeah, there's a huge amount of variation in sizes from different stores, it's a bit frustrating as means you don't really know what will fit until you have your baby!

All DD's hand me downs are being loaned out at the moment to DP's DB, but we're hoping to get them back from him at Xmas when his DD has grown out of them. My boss had her DD2 last year at the age of 44 so is definitely not planning on having any more kids, and she's offered us all her DD2s clothing and bits and bob, is gonna drop them round my house on Thursday and we'll sort through what we need. So definitely not going to be short on clothing! Tbh I can imagine her stuff being in better condition than ours - we didn't buy that much because we're really stingy and DD wore her stuff a lot so quite a bit of it was faded, plus now DP's DN will have wore them, so I'm quite glad we've got some other stuff to choose from too.

I think my friend who was due last week might be in labour! [excited face]. maybe reading too much into it, but the past week or so she's been on facebook/twitter a lot (I assume as she's been home bored). Her and her DH were also planning on getting Fallout 4 on release day (today) and I was expecting some chat about it on fb/twitter or her whatsapping me as I'm a big gamer myself and we've been chatting about it a bit recently, but have heard absolutely nothing... she was due 8 days ago so it's about the right kind of time. So exciting! am also feeling mildly envious though! and suddenly thinking about labour and feeling apprehensive Confused

TriJo · 10/11/2015 15:57

Part of the reason we found out the gender was because we're crap at picking names - being able to eliminate one gender is handy! Our current favourite is Conor, and we'll be most likely using the middle name Joseph as it's my grandfather's name and my due date is around the time of the first anniversary of his passing. We don't have too many other ideas though - we like Irish names, but want something that works well outside of Ireland so none of the weirder sound blends. It also needs to go with the fact that we have a really culchie 3-syllable surname that's very localised to the south-west.

BeautifulLiar · 10/11/2015 16:16

Loving all these names! We're going to be a very diverse group haha

Paperblank · 10/11/2015 17:47

We've pretty much decided on Alfie George if we get a little boy, and Sophie Iris if we have a little girl.. although Romily Iris is our other girl choice (and my favouriteGrin)

I REALLY want to meet our baby now!

vroc81 · 10/11/2015 17:57

Indom congratulations on the scan and the boy!!

Loving all the name suggestions, my DH seems quick to say no with few suggestions of his own... We're thinking about his Grans name but is it weird we also live in her house?

hayley Think your DS has the right idea with Thomas and friends... Duck? Diesel?

MyNameIsSuz · 10/11/2015 18:10

Ahh hayley, my ds would be all Hmm 'that's a train's name' if we tried any Thomas names! He's just turned 3 and has thrown out lots of suggestions, but all along the same theme - vehicles he likes! Suggestions include Camper Van, Helicopter, Dumper Truck, Fire Engine and Train. All highly suitable for a baby girl, how are we going to choose???

Trinpy · 10/11/2015 18:14

I've said it before, but unless you're expecting a big baby, I would get at least 1 pack of newborn/up to 1 month size. My ds is/was on 92nd centile (length and weight) and the 0-3 month stuff was far too big on him as a newborn.
