Hi ladies, quick update. Got woken last night at 1.30am by a trickle and then gush of my waters breaking. Totally shat myself (thankfully not literally!), dr came to examine me, waters had gone (clearly) but cervix was closed again - which he said can happen after the pressure of the full bag of water is removed. It's now been 12.5 hours, still no contractions. Flump is still fine, breech presentation (what is it about my babies that don't like being in the proper position?!), strong heartbeat. They brought me down to labour suite again as thought there's a good chance I'll deliver in next 24-48 hours, but nothing happening so far is a great sign. There was talk of transferring me to another hospital about 30 mins more away from home as the neonatal unit here is full for tiny babies. But then there was no bed on labour suite there for me, and now this afternoon there's a labour suite bed but no neonatal space. There is room to deal with an emergency here but chances that baby would then need to be transferred elsewhere after birth.

Just waiting and hoping again with a weird constant trickle of waters going on. There are cases where babies can stay inside for many more weeks so hoping I'll be one of them ! Xxx

IndomitabIe · 22/11/2015 14:59

Oh Missi that must be terrifying.

So glad they kept you in now though. How many weeks are you now?

Yes, I've heard of several stories where waters have gone early but baby's stayed out for weeks and weeks. There was a poster (from Scotland? Scottishmummy?) whose waters went while in America. She was in for ages and I think all was well in the end.

I have heard of waters regenerating too, not back to normal levels, but enough to be helpful. You've already had the steroid injections, haven't you?

Good luck. Keep holding on. ThanksBrewChocolate

IndomitabIe · 22/11/2015 14:59

*put

Missikat · 22/11/2015 15:04

Thanks indom. I'm 25 weeks tomorrow so the extra 9 days Flump's been inside since I arrived are invaluable. Yep, I've had steroids so hoping I can be a case like the lady you mention (will need to look her up!). The fact the waters can replenish is crazy isn't it?! I find the fact that babies can go on ok without the waters pretty staggering!

IndomitabIe · 22/11/2015 15:09

Ah, 25 weeks is good! Hope you can hold on past 30 now too!

Paperblank · 22/11/2015 15:13

missi

Thanks for the update. How are you coping?

Thinking of you Flowers

marmiteandcheeseplease · 22/11/2015 19:24

That sounds scary missi hope you're ok Flowers. Good you've made it to 25 weeks, every little bit flump stays inside will make a massive difference, fx for you

Anyone else found their weekend has gone far too quickly? Not ready for work tomorrow Sad

We've got the bababing changing bag, as DP wanted a neutral one since he was taking 3 months pat leave with DD, and its lasted us pretty well, so we won't bother getting a new one.

Baby has been moving like mad today, its been non stop! Bump seems to have gotten even bigger so maybe she's going through a growth spurt. Or me feeling huge could just be massive bloat- sorry if tmi but I've been really blocked up the last two weeks Blush, even taking fybogel twice a day isn't doing anything Confused so I think I feel massive simply from feeling really uncomfortably full and bloated. Sigh. Pregnancy is so glamorous Hmm

IndomitabIe · 22/11/2015 19:44

marmite, I can relate to a number of points in your post!

Must start on the work...

Paperblank · 22/11/2015 21:57

Thankfully I've not needed the Fybogel yet but I do have a problem with wind Blush by god its shocking!

I have to say I have felt soooo much better since I started taking iron tablets - I'm nowhere near as knackered and can stay up till 10.00pm!! Go me! Grin

docmcstuffins1 · 23/11/2015 07:04

Hi Everyone.
Keep hanging in there Missikat and flump, thinking of you. Flowers

Just got back from a girls weekend in Liverpool. Was really worried about feeling self conscious and massive around all my glamorous friends but it wasn't as bad as I thought, and they all made a fuss of me, had a lovely time though knackered now!

I'm getting quite uncomfortable at night now and keep waking up having rolled onto my back or trying to roll onto my front. Thinking of investing in a maternity pillow but there are soooo many to choose from, anyone have any recommendations?

QforCucumber · 23/11/2015 07:21

Morning all, been keeping up to date reading but not had time to post - feels like we've had such a busy weekend but didn't really do a lot.
Xmas presents are all purchased, sorted and wrapped minus a couple of little bits and pieces which makes me feel so much more relaxed.
missi hope all is going well for you in there, thoughts are with you a flump!
beautiful also hope things are easing up for you a little, cant imagine just how tough it is with 3 littlies.
marmite I'm with you, going maybe once every 3 days or something and I'm sure that's what's contributing mostly to my bump haha.
doc I have the body pillow from babiesRus, a friend gave it to me and it's been a godsend!

Keep worrying myself as not really felt baby propely since Saturday morning, a few nudges here and there but nothing like I was getting - am 24+4, can it still move out of reach at this point?

Paperblank · 23/11/2015 07:36

Doc I just got one of those V pillows but I have heard that the dream genie pillow is very comfy.

Q I think they can still wriggle out of the way and hide - and I'm sure I read somewhere that that is why we count the kicks from 28 weeks.

IndomitabIe · 23/11/2015 08:41

doc I've been getting so uncomfortable too. We were away this weekend and I thought it was hotel beds, but I was just as uncomfortable last night at home. My Argos body pillow isn't cutting it.

Q yes, they can still spin round and wriggle at the back at this point. I'm sure all is fine but get checked out if you're still worrying.

DS was screeching in the car this morning and it took about 3 minutes to realise I had a proper flat tyre. Currently waiting for the RAC, feeling pathetic that I couldn't change the wheel myself. A wonderful friend has taken DS to school. What a morning.

IndomitabIe · 23/11/2015 08:42

Hoping Missi is all good. I feel like I want to know, but also that no news is good news.

Trinpy · 23/11/2015 09:08

doc I have the Summer Infant maternity pillow and its been amazing for stopping me waking up with hip pain. I just googled it to make sure I'd got the name right and its coming up as being only £25 at Argos, so maybe worth a look?

Q wow Christmas presents bought and wrapped already?? Very impressive. I'm planning a massive shopping trip on Friday (pay day) to get everythin. I quite fancy being one of those very prepared people who have everything organised early rather than doing my usual stressed-out last minute shopping trip!

Missi I hope you and Flump are ok. Thinking of you Flowers.

IndomitabIe · 23/11/2015 09:13

Thanks Trinpy, I'll look that one up. I've been getting a heavy, uncomfortable belly more than anything else. Doesn't bode well at only 22 weeks!

maybebabybee · 23/11/2015 09:48

thinking of you Missi and hoping you and flump are doing ok.

I am 25 weeks tomorrow and I feel so bloody uncomfortable. Last night was impossible trying to sit in a comfortable position on the sofa as I just feel so heavy. Doesn't help I've put on nearly 2 stone since I got pregnant, and I'm only 5ft 2 so I feel bloody enormous.

Me624 · 23/11/2015 11:13

I'm another starting to feel uncomfortable - mainly getting lots of lower back twinges. I do Pilates so going to ask my instructor when I go this week for good exercises to do at home for my back. Otherwise I'm sitting with a hot water bottle on it when it gets really bad!

Indom don't feel bad - there's no way I could change a flat tyre! Actually with my current car I couldn't even if I wanted to, as there's no spare - I just have one of those kits to fill the tyre with foam which is supposed to get you to a garage. I would just ring the RAC as well though!

TheMshipIsBack · 23/11/2015 11:20

Apart from all the kicking, I've been feeling weirdly unpregnant the last couple of days. Still sleeping on my back lots, not having to heave to roll yet. Bump hasn't really grown (to my eyes) for a few weeks. Haven't done any shopping whatsoever - waiting till after Christmas.

Our boiler is getting replaced today and tomorrow. The old one was shite. I can't wait to have a shower without the temperature going all over the place! Lovely PILs are having us over for dinner and DS bathtime tonight and showers for me and DH tomorrow morning, though we'll still sleep at ours. Now my fingers are itching to do the kitchen too. And the garden. Is this nesting?

Rosieblossom123 · 23/11/2015 14:06

Wow this thread is nearly finished Shock

Beautiful that's the same buggy that I like too the black, white and pink one :) just waiting for the car seat to be released, I think tomorrow they will launch the new range, I'm so excited Grin

25+1 today, 14 weeks and 6 days left!! Does anyone else feel loads of pressure when walking? its weird I feel like she's really low and her head pokes out to one side, maybe its just me, her kicks are getting stronger now she even kick anyone who touches my bump which is cute including Dp, stepson and my cats haha bless her! Her kicks are well about my belly button now which is reassuring that she's growing, might be tempted to do a private scan for xmas, I've had 5 scans already is it bad to have another one?

vroc81 · 23/11/2015 14:44

Missi hope everything is going ok, my friends waters went 2 weeks before she gave birth (at 30 weeks) so hopefully Flump will be holding on a while longer.

Mship same here, I dont look very pregnant and don't feel it most of the time, my mum just says I should count myself lucky because even if I suddenly feel like poop to the end I'm over half way there! She's still kicking away though so is obviously happily getting on with it. Problem is between the horses, some gardening and some decorating yesterday I only realised I had done too much too late if that makes sense but had a little power nap while DH cooked dinner!

Got one room painted yesterday with help from parents, hopefully can get furniture flipped between rooms and then the MIL is going to help with upstairs so feeling a bit less stressed about the amount of decorating to be done..

Well done Q on all the presents being bought and wrapped, I might start thinking about it this weekend! Got an easy escape on FIL though, we did a secret santa and I got DH so thats a lot less presents than usual to buy for that part of the family..

TriJo · 23/11/2015 16:31

Bump seemed to decide to pop out another little bit over the weekend, I can't help but feel like I look absolutely huge now for 23+1, and it's now also big enough to make a 30J rack not look particularly big! Little man seems to be happy enough using my bladder as a football nearly all the time now, loads of kicks all day at work and my husband is able to feel it from the outside more often now too.

Not really uncomfortable yet, but I've upgraded to using 2 bump bands when running and wearing a pair of Nike shorts that sits very low on my hips. I'm naturally a side sleeper anyway so haven't had any difficulties there. Pregnancy yoga class for me this evening, have decided it's probably time to do it properly - didn't feel like I was far enough along last time I went at 15 weeks!

IndomitabIe · 23/11/2015 17:41

Thanks Me! Yes, the RAC man was saying about 'these new cars these days!'

If that's nesting, TheM, then I've never had it! Sounds very disruptive, glad you've got the ILs to help out.

Rosie I was thinking earlier as I walked down the corridor that the feeling of pressure is definitely starting. I think it means I need to do more pelvic floor exercises!

I was only an hour and a half late for work in the end, and the repaired tyre only cost me £13. So could have been much worse!

Hope there's nothing going on with Missi.

Paperblank · 23/11/2015 18:32

Am dragging DH to a christmas market on Saturday. He will pretend to not want to go, but he will love it - I will end up driving as I should imagine he'll enjoy the mulled cider.

Vroc & MShip I know what you mean - it's just the kicks that remind me I'm pregnant, otherwise the rest of the time I'd hardly know.

Indom I wouldn't have attempted to change a tyre - I can and have done it but I'd get my ear properly chewed off by DH so good on you for ringing the RAC. Plus it was blinking cold this morning! You'd have frozen your bits off!

TheMshipIsBack · 23/11/2015 19:37

Paper I love Christmas markets! We go to the one in our city multiple times over the holidays every year. DH is a total bratwurst and mulled wine fanatic.

The old boiler is gone! The new boiler is in place! The engineer just has to fit the filtration system and run tests tomorrow and we should be in business. I can't believe how much smaller the new one is (it's a compact combi gas), and how shiny all the pipes look. It's a really tidy professional looking job and I'm so pleased. This time tomorrow the house will be warm and the shower temperature will be steady!

Indom Yeah it's probably not nesting. I think I had that last time around 39 weeks and it was more a sudden urge to have everything really tidy and the hospital bags by the door. Though that didn't stop DH from forgetting the bag with all the baby things. Luckily he remembered the one with my clothes otherwise I'd never have forgiven him!
