Morning all,

ffaux and ginger I am so sorry you're both having a worrying time. Sending you both ((((hugs))))

Have been mad busy this last week and I can't believe how quickly the time is flying. I am lying in bed, putting off getting up - we had friends round last night for fireworks and I need to tackle the aftermath in the kitchen Shock

I love a party but the clearing up can do one!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 07/11/2015 09:51

Hey all, marmite here with slight name change!

Welcome knits Smile

Sorry to hear you're having stressful times ffaux and ginger. FlowersFlowers

DDs second birthday today and she woke up in the night sick and has been sick this morning already Sad she must have caught a sickness bug when DP took her to soft play yesterday as was her only contact with other children yesterday. Ugh! We had a lovely day planned of spoiling her and going to wagamamas for lunch and instead she's got a fever and is sick and we're going to spend the day cleaning it up and doing washing. Gutting. She was sick last year on her birthday too! We're supposed to be going to London zoo tomorrow, have to hope she's feeling better and that we don't catch her bug! Currently sat with her in our front room watching Dora the Explorer... Its going to be a long day.

dobbythedoggy · 07/11/2015 09:58

ffaux really not bake off material! Although the way dd was watching the cupcakes rise in the oven there might be something in her future. A real rushed job compared to the chocolate cake I had had planned. If she'd decided on a mermaid last week I'd have ordered something from the bakery! Had to resort to using a tin foil covered body board as nother else was big enough to fit it on. Very glad it all came together in the end.

ginger I don't know if they are as helpful as they used to be, but I found the tomy midwife helpline invaluable when I was first discharged from hospital with dd in 2012. The day after we got home baby blues hit and I wasn't due a visit from the midwife until the next day but I was a panicing mess and suddenly struggling with breast feeding due to milk coming in. Called them when I was strugling to get through to anyone at the hospital and they were brilliant, acting as an advicate to help get someone out to see us.
Google says the number for them is 08000147800. They were so kind and although they couldn't physically do anything they had lots of time to listen.

I scared dd half to death last night bless her. She crept into our room last night after being woken by the rain. Started to climb into bed with us for a cuddle when I had the most exrusating leg cramp hit, all the was along the back of one leg. Sat up shouting for dh which had her really upset. Had to get up to limp around and strech it out while she had a cuddle with daddy and told him to phone the doctor. Hobbling around this morning, feeling like I ran back to back marathons rather than slept.

That's pretty good dobby especially since you were rushed for time. I'm very jealous of anyone who can make kids' birthday cakes - my attempt for ds' birthday was a sort of unintentional leaning tower of Pisa Grin.

I'm going to a friend's wedding this afternoon so I'm hoping this rain stops soon!

Me624 · 07/11/2015 11:42

Lovely cake dobby! My mum had a fantastic book of children's nursery rhyme birthday cakes when I was little, I wonder if she still has it. She made some amazing ones for me! I remember a Hickory Dickory Dock one in the shape of a clock with a sugar mouse. Would love to make some for my DS.

Sorry your DD is poorly on her birthday marmite. Hope she's feeling better tomorrow and the rain stops for your trip to the zoo!

Baby me is a right little karate kid this morning, he has been giving me a good pummelling for the last half hour non stop. DH still can't feel it though which is a shame!

ffauxlivia · 07/11/2015 12:57

dobby the cake is fab! Much better than anything I could do. I think I've baked about 2 cakes my entire life, so I suppose it's something I'd better get more practice in now a kiddo is on the way!! My mum was always so good at it though that I felt I would never live up to her standards

MyNameIsSuz · 07/11/2015 14:38

Awesome cake dobby! I'm pretty bad at character cakes - this year I made a digger cake instead, so easy!!! Much better than the pat van monstrosity I made the year before Grin

I really want cake now, all this talk and pictures of cake are making me crave haha! I made this for a table of cakes at a friends wedding this year - rather proud Grin haven't done one in ages now though. Dp has gone away for the night for his frinds birthday, I'm home alone with bump and the cats. Already gutted th house and now really really tempted to start painting the kitchen but know he will tell me off tomorrow if I do argh!
Hope your dd feels better tomorrow marmite

q, suz and dobby amazing cakes! Am in awe. I'm going to attempt a bloody Peppa Pig one in a few weeks for DDs birthday but will cheat and buy a ready made topper. No way am I going to attempt making the little pink bugger!

ff so sorry about the potential issue they picked up. The harmony is super accurate, so at least you can rule out trisomy and not have to go through an amnio. Did you watch Jane the Virgin? Her baby had the same thing in it. Sorry if that's frivolous. But all was ok in the end.

ginger there have been some good tips re perinatal care. Another option might be a private cervix scan. My friend who did have an incompetent cervix had major bleeding not just a little spotting. The blood flow is increased to your bits throughout pregnancy, so it's very easy to burst a blood vessel through er activity.

We are SO stuck for boys names! I'd like to get one sorted, as I think it'd help DD bond, but at this rate he's going to be called baby! DH hates all my boys names :(

Crispylicious · 07/11/2015 15:42

A random question but do you think a baby born in late march will need a snow suit? I was thinking maybe just coat and blanket in his pram carry cot?

marmiteandcheeseplease · 07/11/2015 16:13

I wouldn't think so crispy but it depends on the weather! I'd not bother buying one until you know if we're going through a cold snap or not, as you can always buy it at short notice.

DD has been miserable today but we haven't had an episode of sickness since 9am so hoping that's it. She hasn't eaten anything but two rice cakes and a load of cows milk though so who knows. She's perked up a bit in the last hour or so, so hopefully will be better for our zoo trip tomorrow!

Also re names crispy have you tried nameberry.com? It has interesting lists and some "if you like xx, you'll like xx posts". Also magicbabynames.com where you can put names you like in and it suggests other names you like. Me and DP spent a lot of time on name sites before settling on our name for DD2.

RhubarbAndMustard · 07/11/2015 20:27

Loving the cakes ladies! And sending best wishes to ff and ginger.

I've done my back in tonight. Bent over to get DS some toilet roll and now in agony. Managed to get home - as was at a fireworks party- and now bolstered up in bed with 100s of pillows. Am worried I won't be able to move tomorrow and it's just me and DS until tues. He's been an angel tonight but at 3 he can't do everything bless him. Have taken paracetamol but don't think I can use anything else. All the pain relief gels we have you cant use when pregnant.

Missdee2014 · 07/11/2015 21:33

You lot are so chatty I really dont have the time to keep up lately! Just thought I'd pop on and share a bump pic with you all.

Gingerlady123 · 07/11/2015 22:26

Thanks everyone.
Phoned maternity unit today as I hadn't felt baby move today and still haven't. They said it was normal at this stage. I also said I had spotting two days ago and they said their not worried as it's cleared up and no pain . Was to shy to say what caused it though

Gingerlady123 · 07/11/2015 22:28

Misdee I love the bump photo

Gingerlady123 · 07/11/2015 22:40

Also thanks everyone for the advice. I really need to think long and hard about how to control my fears. I'm irrational I get one thing, I Google and think I have it when chances are I don't. I don't want to look back in March and regret worrying over nothing but as I have a anxiety disorder I did things very difficult. I need to work hard to try and make things better for my self though.

21 weeks today! Still got bloody morning sickness. Been sick three times today. Fed up of it now. Is their still a chance the sickness will go or am I stuck until forty weeks with it?

IndomitabIe · 08/11/2015 09:05

Good morning all.

Hope everyone is feeling well and happy this morning.

Ginger, life with anxiety is so difficult. Look after yourself as best you can, keep asking for help with it. Share it all here too. And stop googling!

I'm finally getting close to my scan: Tuesday. Was there someone after me or am I the last?!

Me624 · 08/11/2015 10:32

Nearly there Indom! Are you finding out?

I have slept terribly the last two nights. I keep waking up with acid reflux so I need to start keeping Gaviscon next to the bed! Also woke up a second time last night with mild stomach cramps - baby was kicking away through them so not concerned but not sure what it was. Could it be Braxton Hicks? Feels way too early for that though (23 weeks).

IndomitabIe · 08/11/2015 10:56

Yes, we will if we have foetal cooperation!

I've been having Braxton Hicks since 16 weeks, so not at all too early. Had them from 20 weeks last time too (probably earlier but didn't recognise them). However, BHs don't hurt until near the end, it's more of a weird tingle to me. Maybe your stomach cramps were digestive? Or good old round ligament pain every time I turn over?

Another caveat: kicking is no indication that it's not labour/Braxton Hicks/a problem - DS kicked and wriggled all the way through labour.

Missikat · 08/11/2015 13:56

Hi all, hoping you're all well. Thinking of you Ffaux and Ginger. It sounds very stressful for both of you and I hope being on here and the advice/reassurance from everyone helps. I think having had the harmony test definitely should help ease some of your fears Ffaux. Hopefully whatever has caused the spot sorts itself before birth.

Ginger, I think calling some kind if helpline to talk to someone could really help. I'm surprised that given your history of mental health issues that you are not being offered more support. I would go to your gp and explain how debilitating your anxiety is and really push for some help. It sounds like you've tried a lot already though so hopefully they will do something.

Marmite hope your daughter is better for your zoo trip tomoz. BTW loved your bump pic! Really impressive!

Loving all the cakes too, the dumper truck one was genius!

Here's my bump from the other day, 22 weeks and the In the Night Garden cake toppers I made for DS's 2nd birthday this summer. They took forever but I was so pleased with them! Not sure he'll be getting anything quite so elaborate next year when there's a baby about too though!

Hello! I have been following this thread from the beginning but have only been brave enough to join now. It has been an invaluable thread for support from afar for me so thanks for that.

I am 19w and 6d and am due dc3 on 28th March. I have two much older children (age 16 and 13) and it feels like so much has changed since then. I am an older mum and will be 41 when the baby is born.

Missikat · 08/11/2015 17:34

Welcome Dottiek!

Gingerlady123 · 08/11/2015 18:01

Welcome dot. How have you been feeling this pregnancy? I know a women who has a daughter the same age as me (nearly 22) and a daughter who is only 7 years old as well.
Indom- I hope baby lets you find out what he/she is, we had a gender scan at 17 weeks and she let us know then. I was convinced she wouldn't co-operate at 20 week scan as I wanted to hear it again that it was a girl but she person doing the scan commented how she wasn't very lady like lol. Good luck on Tuesday.
Ffaux- how are you? I'm sure it'll turn out to be nothing especially with the harmony results you had.
Missi- liking the bump their.
Does anyone else feel shy about their bump? People comment on it all the time but I don't feel like I'm showing much but I suppose I must be. I'm always trying to hide it though. Maybe because I'm shy and hate being the centre of attention. I'm quite happy in the background.

Re the anxiety. I have suffered since aged sixteen mostly with health related anxieties. It all started when I got hit on the head with a massive stone on the beach and got knocked out. Was taken to hospital for a scan on brain and all was ok but ever since that day I've been a bundle of nerves. Every pain I get is something fatal In my head. Eg a leg ache is a blood clot, a headache is a brain issue, a tiny hit to the head and I'm terrified I'll bled to death. So it's no surprise to me that pregnancy has worried me so much. That's why a tiny bleed to me is an incompetent cervix when in reality it's probably nothing ( I know this in my head) but I just can't rationalise things and I think the worst. Especially as all I have to do is type in incompetent cervix into Google and theirs hundreds of stories about it. It makes it look more common than it is. Still not felt much from baby today but think I have felt a few things but as been busy had less time to notice. Triage said if felt nothing in a couple days my midwife could listen in with Doppler. I have mine own at home and found heartbeat last night. She's always in my left side and she always kicks in the left side as well! Must be comfy their.

Tmi but is anyone else really wet down their every day? My discharge is 10 times more than it was before pregnancy. Sometimes I panic it's my waters breaking.

Thanks for all the help everyone. I have taken on board everyone's ideas and I will find a way through this.
Just can't wait until I can hold my baby in my arms. I feel helpless and like I have no control over her safety but I need to try and trust in my body to keep her safe and not keep thinking it will fail

Me624 · 08/11/2015 19:03

Welcome dottiek! Have you had your 20 week scan? I bet your older DC will be a great help to you.

I am in agony Sad somehow I have really jarred my lower back when changing the bedsheets. I'm sitting with a hot water bottle which is helping a bit and have had paracetamol. I can't bend forward at all. Hope it feels better tomorrow.

Gingerlady123 · 08/11/2015 19:06

Me- hope it's better tomorrow. Back pain is horrible. Take it easy .
As for me I have a tub of peanut butter cup Ben n jerries yum
