Gosh this thread moves fast.

I've been looking at early scans today. We've decided to have one around 7 weeks and will cost £80 which I didn't think was too bad.

Symptoms wise, now I know I'm pregnant they seem to have all appeared! Nipples oh my gosh, poor nipples and I've started dry heaving. It's drying me nuts.

We haven't told anyone yet and DP doesn't want to tell anyone until after 12 weeks. I know it's the sensible thing to do but I just want to tell the world now

Rose2806 · 17/10/2015 14:45

Thanks everyone for your reassurances and particularly to biking and laughing gnomette for your advice.

My bloods on Thursday showed hCG about 450 and progesterone about 72, which if they hadn't seen the mass would indicate a normal pregnancy, had bloods taken again today to see what the hCG levels are doing and repeat scan on Monday. Still been having the odd pain but not too bad and no bleeding. Hopefully will know a lot more on Monday but the waiting is horrible, keep getting bursts of feeling really emotional about it. I ended up calling my best friend who I hadn't even told I was pregnant yet and crying down the phone to her, it helped to let it out and chat to her though.

loki so sorry to hear your news, hope you will be back soon xx

derbygirl hope you are ok, how are you today?

On a non-pregnancy note, do you guys use the MN app? I downloaded it but my login won't work!

Lovelybeano · 17/10/2015 14:51

I am in one badass mood today, I need an approach with caution sign hung round my neck lol hope everyone else is feeling ok today xx

Lovelybeano · 17/10/2015 14:54

I hope the weekend goes superfast for you rose xxxxxx

MadrigalElectromotive · 17/10/2015 16:03

Rose I think mnhq were planning to change the login from username + password to email address + password so it may be worth trying that?

The nausea and vomiting are back with a vengeance today. Sad I am not really functioning, so may have to see the doctors on Monday to try to get some help. Feel absolutely dreadful.

Hope everyone else is ok.

Rose2806 · 17/10/2015 16:58

Thanks madrigal, I'm sure I tried that before but it's working now yay Smile

Just had a call from the hospital, my hcg today was 1200 which is a normal increase whereas apparently an ectopic would be all over the place so that's a good sign, still a bit concerned about what this mass is though. Distracting myself watching tv series and films with DH (and the cat)

Lovelybeano · 17/10/2015 17:18

Aww that news is a little ray of sunshine rose Flowers

carrie1008 · 17/10/2015 17:33

That's a good result Rose

I'm sat watching rugby with a room full of people that don't know I'm pregnant...me and DP have to sneak a Becks Blue into my glass every so often without anyone else seeing!

Blue222 · 17/10/2015 17:56

Hi all

This is all so new to me so wanted to join this for support- I don't have much of a network and so early on don't want to tell anyone I'm preggers. Things I am Googling keep coming back to Mumsnet!

DP and I had positive test on Thursday night.
According to calculations I am 5 weeks, 6 days and due on 12 June 2016.
We're both 36 and this is first for us both- feels surreal.

I have a GP appt in place for 29th- I had it booked already as due to get a new script for anxiety tablets but will wean myself off them before then. I phoned the practice and they said I wouldn't see midwife until 11-12 weeks so no rush to see GP- another two weeks is fine. Assume this is normal.

The sore boobs/back pain causing me to waddle/nausea is totally outweighed by the excitement! :)

JellyBaby26 · 17/10/2015 18:01

Rose that's great news!

Carrie I did that last night with cobra and rose. Both alcohol free, figure it's the best way to keep people of the scent! Got to keep it up until December though, which will be challenging considering the rose is pretty hideous!

So far I have not had that many symptoms although I have noticed a huge increase in cm - yuk! I think my nausea started around 8 weeks last time so still got a while before that if it's going to happen!

I also having major wardrobe issues as I can't really fit in my normal clothes since having dd and obv maternity is totally unecessary as is dieting.

Is anyone taking vitamins? I keep forgetting and feel really guilty!!

OP posts:
Rose2806 · 17/10/2015 18:13

Congrats blue, those timings sound normal Smile

I'm taking the boots own brand vitamins, thought about pregnacare but I read that vitabiotics can stop though from sleeping properly, and I have problems with that at the best of times!

Thanks guys, it will be so great if everything turns out to be ok and I can get excited about being pregnant again.

Had anyone else been obsessing about every single product they use for things like skin care etc? I know you have to avoid anything containing vitamin A but I've found it hard getting information about some things. Does anyone know if oil based products are supposed to be bad, for example things like make up remover (I like the Bobbi Brown one) and shampoos?

carrie1008 · 17/10/2015 18:17

We already decided to have a sober Nov jellybelly so that should help keep people off the scent!

I'm taking vitamins but have to keep them by my toothbrush to remember to take them!

First job next week is booking a Drs appt...our area makes booking apps around 9 weeks so ages to wait, but I think we'll book a private scan around 7weks too.

JellyBaby26 · 17/10/2015 18:21

Rose I had no idea about things containing vitamin a and oil !

Great idea Carrie!

OP posts:
Rose2806 · 17/10/2015 18:29

I know vitamin A is definitely bad (I had a face mask that contains it so have stopped using that) but I don't know about oil, I only started wondering about that as another product I googled said it was safe and not oil based. I'm probably being to paranoid...

Rose2806 · 17/10/2015 18:33

I'm telling people I am doing sober for October, but then I ended up getting lots of questions about whether I would make it, how many units I normally drink etc (I have no idea but not that many) which I didn't feel very prepared for!

One problem could be we are going out with some friends for Halloween, I hope they don't try to make me have a drink at midnight!!

Derbygirl37 · 17/10/2015 18:44

Hi ladies, hope you're all ok. Well, I'm still bleeding and using sanitary towels. It's just like a normal period but with NO pain! Which is really, really weird for me. Infact, apart from feeling tired, I feel fine in myself. I honestly don't know what to think! I reckon I'll just have to wait for the bleeding to stop and then do another test. Sending much love to you all xx

Lovelybeano · 17/10/2015 19:01

Thinking of you derby xxxxx

I never even thought of products containing vitamin A eeekkk I better check my cosmetics !!

I'm also starting to have wardrobe issues jellybaby, with dd I had to buy some maternity jeans at 10 weeks and with my ds I started wearing them at 6 weeks!! Mainly for comfort, I tend to carry a lot of water so I get the bloated look from very early on, but then doesn't grow into a lovely bump until later on, already my jeggings and trousers are feeling a bit tight :-/ , may buy a pair of maternity jeggings and some oversize jumper\ tops to see me through the next few months xx

nehagarg · 17/10/2015 19:47

Good news rose Smile ... I am avoiding all skin care as much as possible because of the chemicals that seep into your bloodstream via the skin. Found a brilliant recipe for coconut oil+shea butter +tea tree oil which is doing wonders as a moisturiser. Even DH has switched.

Not having any wardrobe issues yet except my bras are now half a cup size smaller. Felt much better today. No nausea.

welcome everyone new. The june bus is really filling up.

derby thinking of you. Hopefully its nothing specially since there are no cramps.

laughingGnomette · 17/10/2015 20:54

That's sounding really promising Rose! My progesterone was only around 42 while hcg was only creeping up by 100 or so a day so completely different. Good luck for Monday.

Rooting for you Derby. I know quite a few people (including myself!) who bled during early pregnancy and everything was fine.

I'm having wardrobe issues. My work trousers are so uncomfortable - any pressure causes nasty cramps but I can't bring myself to buy maternity ones so early on. I feel paranoid that dresses show my tummy which is so bloated. Gah.

Apart from sore boobs and a touch of nausea, my annoying symptom is a blocked/stuffy nose. I had it for NINE AND A HALF MONTHS last time and I've had it for three weeks so far this time. It's soooo annoying and you're not supposed to take decongestants. :(

Hi to all newbs!

I hope everyone is doing ok xx

mrsmugoo · 17/10/2015 20:57

I've got a stuffy nose nose too and hoping I've got a legit cold because I'd totally forgotten about having a blocked nose throughout my entire pregnancy last time arrgh!!

bikingintherain · 17/10/2015 21:07

You've just reminded me me with e stuff nose that I used to get nose bleeds with my previous two pregnancies. It's a glamorous thing being pregnant isn't it?!

Welcome to the newbies, it's great to have you here. And delighted to hear that there's some positive news rose. Good luck for next week. And fingers crossed for you Derby that all will work out.

MagicDucky · 17/10/2015 22:13

Keeping my fingers crossed DerbyThanks

I've woken up with a nosebleed the past two mornings! Completely forgot about getting them the first time round too! Although I'm pretty sure they started much later on last time!! Oh the joys.

BabySocks · 17/10/2015 22:59

Evening all, gone quiet again now. I am at the point where I am nervous to post incase I jinx things but also know what will be will be. Had really bad cramps earlier but pretty sure it was because (tmi) I needed a poo! !! All sorted after that anyway :)

Hope everyone gets a decent nights sleep, thinking of you derby x

nehagarg · 18/10/2015 08:23

Looks very quiet here. Does this mean wveryone has been able to kick the insomnia? Smile

babysocks glad it was nothing. Smile

Mrspopper · 18/10/2015 08:36
