Hi!
How do I get added onto the FB group? Thank you!

Juniper404 · 07/09/2015 18:48

That pain sounds horrible Tiny. Have you got any follow up care planned? Yay for putting a deposit down somewhere! Must be exciting.

I've booked my gtt for half term when I'll be 27+5. They put up a bit of a fight about me having it before 28 weeks. Two days early, for god's sake! I still have to pay for DD to go to nursery whilst I'm off so I'll send her that morning. Should make my life easier.

Why don't shops do maternity coats?! Do pregnant women not get cold or do they just not leave the house?? I've seen two on h&m so hopefully one of those will be ok.

Elvi1 · 07/09/2015 19:28

I gave up shopping on the high st juniper - they only seemed to stock essentials (although you would have though a coat was an essential bit of clothing. Was also apparent that can't be pregnant and stylish! Try asos....I've ordered lots of stuff from there - returned half of it (standard!) but got some nice things and far more comfortable trying clothes on at home.

Congratulations on your new place tiny Smile

tinyme135 · 07/09/2015 22:29

no just keep an eye out I don't get worse. only things that's bothering me is my ibs is being a pain and keep going light headed a lot. we should be moving out in the next month so should be settled in a few months before my leave and Christmas :)

I haven't even began thinking of winter stuff yet "/ can't afford it now either haha

coffeenut · 08/09/2015 00:45

Wow tiny great news on the house! How exciting. And good timing with the move.

I've found over here that most shops that have a fairly decent range of maternity stuff online have next to nothing in store. Grr. Still waiting on my next asos order to come.

BeeMyBaby · 08/09/2015 16:16

It's strange how 2-3 years ago a lot of shops had a maternity section (h&m, gap, new look etc) in store but they have moved it to all online it seems. Although I did spot over the bump maternity pjs in primark the other day...

AlohaMama · 08/09/2015 16:22

I think I've only seen maternity in mothercare, only online.it's fine for tops but bit annoying for jeans that would be nice to try on.

Nightfall1983 · 08/09/2015 16:29

I've finally got my MN app sorted so hopefully will be able to post more often!

I generally hate ordering clothes online but there isn't much choice with Mat Wear - as someone said upthread, when I was pg with DS (3yrs ago) several high street store had mat sections, now I can only find H&M, Mothercare, Mamas and Papas. I've ordered some shorts (preparing for holidays) from Asda, picking them up today - they were lovely Asda prices so I have to see what the quality is like...

spooble · 08/09/2015 17:38

Not been on for a while due to being so busy, but been keeping an eye on everyone's news! All good here, although normal jeans no longer fit and maternity ones are driving me mad - they just don't stay up! I suspect I'm going to have to go all ladylike for a while and wear dresses. Will the jeans get better at staying up when my bump is huge?

tinyme135 · 08/09/2015 17:44

As much as I love wearing my dresses, it's getting to cold to wear them now. My bump isn't big enough for trousers as of yet and they only trousers I have saw are wide legged and they don't suit me the skinny ones do -_- just my look haha.

Can anyone suggest anything for tiredness. 22+2 and still constantly tired

BeeMyBaby · 08/09/2015 17:48

Tiny perhaps you need to get your iron levels checked? I have my prenatal vitamins everyday plus I eat a bowl of fortified cereal which I think helps.

Nightfall1983 · 08/09/2015 20:12

I can still fit into next-size-up regular jeans - maybe those struggling with Mat Jeans could try buying some regular ones in the next size up? I know it seems like a waste as won't last long but you'll probably be in them for a short while post birth too and it's worth it if it fits!

Elvi1 · 08/09/2015 21:14

To anyone still worrying about lack of movement - don't be. I Had my 20week (22wk) scan this evening. Over the past few days I've been feeling very anxious because of the lack of movement I've been feeling - I only occasionally feel a tap a few times a day, and I began to think it wasn't the baby at all. As soon as I got into the scanning room I started blabbing like a baby. Anyway, long story short, the scan went really well and baby was moving around loads - I just can't believe I can't feel it! The sonographer said that it's completely normal to only feel only occassional tapping at this stage and I won't feel anything more significant for another few weeks, and also mentioned my anterior placenta is cushioning movement. I kind of wish my midwife had paused to talk about my anterior placenta at the 17wk mw appointment and. explain how much movement I should expect to feel other the coming weeks. I know that some ladies feel a lot but I think if she had lowered my expectations as to what I should expect to feel, I maybe would have felt slightly less anxious. Well....maybe not, but I would have felt more informed.

lilyb84 · 08/09/2015 22:54

Glad your scan put your mind at rest elvi! I think it depends so much on who you see, what mood they're in and so many other factors when it comes to being told useful information like that when you need it.

tiny I hope you're feeling better. Sounds like you're having a rubbish time Sad When's that holiday again?!

coffeenut · 09/09/2015 01:21

Great news Elvi!!! Grin I was exactly the same, could not feel even half of the (very vicious looking!) kicks that baby was giving me throughout the scan. Over the last few weeks, things have really stepped up though and I can feel him quite a bit, all over the place. Anyway, congrats on your good scan, that's great news. Did you find out the sex?

nightfall so jealous you can still fit into jeans a size up! I couldnt after about 12 weeks. spooble what type of jeans do you have? TBH I dont get along with mat jeans generally. I go for the stretchy thin type of skinny trousers/jeggings with a full over the bump band. The H&M jeans however are supposed to be good for staying up and have a tightish bump band so could be better for early days?

Obviously the shops find it more profitable to shift their maternity stuff into warehouses - maybe pregnant women tend to shop online (while they mumsnet)??

Yay for the app being back up!

tinyme135 · 09/09/2015 02:25

I think I have too much acid and it's causing so much heartburn it's killing me. I think I'm going to start taking my omeprazole and ranitidine as it's getting way out of hand now.bee iron levels are fine, had them checked when I was in A&E and holiday is on Saturday so if anyone can has got a pregnancy holiday check list I will be grateful :)

Elvi1 · 09/09/2015 09:07

Thanks, ladies! Hopefully before the doubt and worry starts setting in again I will be feeling the baby more regularly! Oh, and incase anyone is still waiting for their scan (lily- I think yours is next week?) don't apply any moisturiser that day. I hadn't but the doctor asked if I had and said that they don't get such a clear pic. I'd had a shower and hour or two before and used shower gel so wonder if had similar effect and that was why he asked.

coffeenut we are leaving it as a surprise although I have an inkling which I won't say out loud!

Finally we can start shopping for stuff. Well, maybe just window shopping, make a list etc thoughmaybe won't start making purchases until 7 months.

22weeks Grin

lilyb84 · 09/09/2015 18:20

Thanks elvi for the tip, my scan is indeed next week - one of the last I think for this group? I'm rubbish at moisturising but it's exactly the sort of thing I'd remember to do when nervous!

coffee I have the H&M skinny jegging-type jeans with an over the bump strip. They're comfy but have to say the bump band is getting looser each time I wash them so I have to hike them up every now and again... still better than any others I've tried on yet though. Now I just really need to find some over the bump work trousers!

Wynsey · 09/09/2015 20:28

Had my scan today!!!! Yay!!!
Baby was perfect although very awkward! Was facing my back so my scan photo is rubbish!!! Lol
Soooo I went in convinced it was a boy and turns out.....it's a girl!! Hehehehe team pink! Yay!! Can't believe it. Can't believe I'm halfway there already!!!
Still not felt any movement. Hopefully I start very soon!!!! Grin
20+1

BeeMyBaby · 09/09/2015 20:45

Congratulations wynsey on joining team pink Smile

lilyb84 · 10/09/2015 08:30

Congrats wynsey and glad to hear everything was well Smile

coffeenut · 10/09/2015 09:35

Congrats wynsey!! Girls are fab Smile and I'm glad everything is looking good. You'll start feeling her soon!

That's interesting lily re the H&m jeans. I found a nice pair of jeans there but the bump band was too tight for me at 20 odd weeks so didnt bother buying!

DotterP · 10/09/2015 10:36

I had to go into maternity jeans by about 12 weeks. I have a pair of over-the bump maternity jeans from Next. They do come up long, and are generously sized but they are literally the most comfortable thing I own. I love them and I don't find they fall down too much. I like to have my bump covered so I know I wouldn't get on with the under-bump ones. You can pick them up very cheaply in the outlet section of the Next website - mine were 13 pound and I collected them from store so no delivery charge.

I have also just spend 130 pound at ASOS on maternity dresses for work in their clearance section. Admittedly that is about 8 dresses, and I'm expecting to have to send about half of them back! It is my way of cheering myself up after a squirrel ran our in front of my car on a bloody dual-carriageway this morning. Nothing I could do to avoid it, but I still burst into tears and called DH crying "what if it had babies". Pregnancy hormones Sad

kep1979 · 10/09/2015 12:12

wynsey congrats on the scan and welcome to team pink Smile

I am really uncomfortable today - having v sharp pains regularly in the rhs under/side of my bump - I am assuming it is RLP but when I've had the pain before it's just come and then gone, leaving a dull ache but overall subsided, whereas this is very frequent and causing me to wince and the men at work are getting scared! Going to keep an eye on it, as don't really want to call the MAU unless it carries on... although it has been like this all morning.

Yokyil · 10/09/2015 13:26

Sounds like what I had kep I wouldn't leave it too long - it's so sore and uncomfy plus you're best getting checked just to make sure
