Dotter I prefer having my bump covered too, partly because it feels nice and partly because it makes it look round rather than just lumpy Smile That's why I really want some over-the-bump work trousers as mu nice adjustable ones from New Look (not even under-bump, just elasticated) just make me look a bit fat. Not that I'm vain, or anything.

kep that sounds painful, probably best to get checked out if it's that consistent and different to anything you're experiencing normally? I'm getting RLP but only when I twist or move too quickly (then it's agonising, but only for about 30 seconds or so). Have had a few shooting pains below my bump today but again they're intermittent. Hope it subsides, whatever it is!

I've gone a bit mad on eBay and spent money I don't have on maternity clothes but I'm running out of options for work clothes now. I've never used it before for clothes but it's proving so useful for maternity stuff, since you pretty much have to buy it all online anyway! Our local charity shops occasionally have stuff in but nothing when I last mooched around...

Wynsey · 10/09/2015 16:55

Dotter I would cry too!! I always swerve when an animal runs out! It's so bad!!!
I much prefer over the bump clothes. Totally agree they give you a much better shape. I bought loads in the New Look sale and loved it all!
Think I might take a wee look at prams now the big 20 week scans over! Always wanted to push prams about when I was younger so it's so exciting!!! lol I'm sure I'll get bored after a few weeks!!
Booked a 4D scan today - well it's in actual fact an HD scan!! How crazy!! Went for 8th of November but only 8 weeks to wait!! Sees AGES away! Grin

Hi all! Just a quick message to say I'm still here on mumsnet. Keeping an eye on things here though keep forgetting to post (mainly as I'm going to bed asap after getting home & eating!) Hope you are all ok and getting this mysterious pregnancy energy/glow! I am having a girl! Haven't bought anything yet but keeping an eye on all your recommendations.

tinyme135 · 11/09/2015 08:11

today's the first time I've wore tighter fitting clothes and I think I'm going to do it more often. I was allowed to go on the bus first and everyone kept giving me their seat. and after a horrible weekend with horrible heartburn I'm finally feeling good about myself. I think my body is pushing out all the bad as (tmi) it's all coming out when I go to the toilet. just in time for my holiday tomorrow :)

kep1979 · 11/09/2015 09:43

Yesterday I called the MAU and they suggested paracetamol and seeing how it was this morning. So I went home and did nothing, rested completely and so far this morning no pain Smile So must be RLP, and I hope it will stay away! Scared dh loads so he is being even more over protective than normal.... but it does get me out of doing the washing and pegging it out today lol. My boss is working from home today so should have an easy day in the office with an early finish - perfect Smile

Electrocute · 11/09/2015 11:01

Hello everyone :) Can I please join? Is there a facebook group too? I'm expecting my second baby on 6 Jan 2016. Not had time to read through the whole thread but will do when I get a minute!

AlohaMama · 11/09/2015 11:39

Welcome electrocute. Luckily there is no obligation to read all 9 threads Wink.

Glad you're feeling better kep. Hope you manage more rest from now on, and that you can effectively pass all the housework onto dh!

I'm definitely all about figure hugging clothes right now, it's much more flattering, and I expect that after this baby I'll never be able to wear a tight top again!

If anyone sees any good deals on nursing chairs please let me know. There is not really anything on ebay near me, and my old one is giving up the ghost. I keep seeing tutti bambino ones for not too much money but they get very mixed reviews. I still use my current one for reading stories to my 2.3 yo so reckon I'd get a good few years use out of it.

BeeMyBaby · 11/09/2015 13:55

welcome Electrocute, its a bit quiet on here until MN sorts out the app (as its broken again), so that's why the FB group is much more accurate. I think you PM frozenfairy if you want details of the FB group.

BeeMyBaby · 11/09/2015 16:19

Super pleased, my friend just collected some second hand reusable nappies for me from her local FB selling page- she managed to get 27 for £20. I think I must have about 80 now Grin, hoping they work out but if not I have got them so cheap that it should be easy to resell them and get the money back.

Nightfall1983 · 11/09/2015 16:44

Wow Bee - 80! We have 16. We managed, in the early days it's hardest coz you get through 8 a day easily so it's hard to get them washed and then dried in time (no tumble drier) but more would've been very handy, as long as you have the space to store them!

Electrocute · 11/09/2015 20:14

Thanks both :) I will pm frozenfairy x

lilyb84 · 11/09/2015 21:07

Welcome electrocute! Hope all's going well with your pregnancy so far.

bee that's impressive! I've signed up for our council's nappy library scheme so I get a whole starter pack for £25 but not sure how many nappies that is. No tumbler drier either like you nightfall so will need to invest in a bigger clothes horse and attempt to find some storage space...

BeeMyBaby · 11/09/2015 22:24

We have a dryer but I've read there's not much point cost/environmental wise if you use a tumble dryer so I wanted lots to give the nappies a chance to dry on a rack which usually takes 2 days for clothes, so I imagine nappies would be the same. Our council does a pack for£12 (over £50 worth) but it only includes 3 nappies and those wet bags. Please would someone remind me apart from the nappies, inserts, liners and bucket - what else do I need? I want to look on Amazon eBay but not sure what the proper names for the wet bag in the nappy bucket, or non stinky travel bag are? And from previous discussions was it decided that there was no need to soak? Should I was them in napisan? Do they need liquid detergent in addition, or better to use just liquid detergent? I'm starting to try to think of it more practically now and probably will need the next 4 months to get my head round it.

AlohaMama · 12/09/2015 07:52

Wet bag is just called wet bag. I had a couple from planetwise which are elasticated at top and used it as a liner in a pedal bin, then could empty the contents bag and all unto the machine without touching the nappies by pushing it inside out. I used to chuck baking soda or essential oils into the bin itself so avoid smells. The travel bag I had was a planetwise wet-dry bag so had PUL lined bag for dirties and cotton pocket for cleans. You can research recommended washing powders as they need to be free from softeners, brighteners etc. If you end up drying inside you might want to give them a short fluff in the dryer to soften them, you might have a cold air fluff cycle or similar. Not sure about nap is an as was in the usa so it wasn't available. I would use rocking green to strip diapers if they needed a good clean. With all detergents you'll find there are mixed reviews as things like your water softness can have an effect, you may have to try different detergents, and different washing patterns, like how many rinses you need etc.

Electrocute · 12/09/2015 08:24

Thanks lilyb x yes it's been healthy so far thankyou. Unfortunately my lovely mil passed away when I was about 14 weeks pg so it's been stressful but little bump is a rainbow for the family to look forward to, particularly as we are due 6 jan and christmas will be a tough one for the family. It's something good to focus on x

I can't seem to update the info sheet, please could someone do it for me? I'm 35, due 6 jan, 0mc, 1DD and I'm in aberdeenshire :)

tinyme135 · 12/09/2015 10:12

just off on holiday now waiting for the taxi to pick us up. I'm hoping I don't get sick as I normally take travel sickness tablets and they have told me not to take them "/ wish me luck haha.

hope everyone has a great weekend and week :)

lilyb84 · 12/09/2015 12:08

Added you electrocute Smile

BeeMyBaby · 12/09/2015 16:07

Thank you very much aloha! I not have a wet bag on order from eBay, and have a few wet-dry bags on my watch list do I will get them nearer the time :) we have very soft water so I'm hoping that will mean the nappies will clean easily, but as you say, I guess it will just be trial and error for a while.

Electrocute · 12/09/2015 21:58

Thank you lilyb x

coffeenut · 13/09/2015 11:03

welcome electrocute Smile Lovely that your baby can be something positive for your family to look forward to.

Hope you're okay now kep and tiny.

24 weeks today! It was a gorgeous sunny 25 degree day here today and I've realised I have to sort a spring/summer maternity wardrobe. So despite saying I'm not going to buy anymore, I've just ordered two over bump maternity tube skirts that can convert from maxi to midi and some tank tops. Hopefully I can wear the skirts post pregnancy - and maybe even convert them to normal skirts by removing the bump band. Anyone else on their last pregnancy already thinking of all of the clothing they can get rid of afterwards?? I have so much stuff in different sizes that I have kept for the transition to nine months and then back to normal size again!

Electrocute · 14/09/2015 07:41

Thank you coffeenut :)

BeeMyBaby · 15/09/2015 16:53

Coffee i can't wait till I get to 24 weeks (2 more weeks!) as I think I'll feel more comfortable as I know baby will have a chance if anything happens.

lilyb84 · 15/09/2015 17:28

Hi all, had my 2nd scan today and it's a boy! I've been feeling a bit weird since, not because I'm disappointed about the sex (was fairly sure it was a boy!) but because finding out feels like a bit of an anticlimax. Anyone else feel like that?

All's looking healthy though and he has long legs - god knows how since I'm a short-ass and his dad has a long body but not legs! God I hope he's not too sporty... Confused

I've also said I won't buy any more clothes coffee but can already see I'll be needing more wintry stuff soon, plus tops for work. I HATE buying clothes normally but am loving getting maternity stuff!
Congrats on reaching 24 weeks as well Smile

21+4

Elvi1 · 15/09/2015 21:19

Oooh a boy!! Congrats lily - glad everything was looking good! Smile

BeeMyBaby · 15/09/2015 21:23

Congratulations on a boy lily. At least you get to plan all nice boy things then and can get on with more shopping rather than having to get things in cream Smile
