New thread - wouldn't let me write on the last one Smile

Elvi sounds like round ligament pain to me too Smile Also, I don't like FB so have only joined for this group. It's been nice having it there when MN has been down, and also for seeing pics etc. I do feel weird using it again for the first time in a couple of years and hope I can resist the temptation to start using it properly (especially since I know I'd only delete my account again after a few months. I hate social media).

I've got lots of cramping tonight and my maternity work trousers were tight today so guess the bump's having a bit of a growth spurt. Feel like curling up with a hot water bottle!

Oh and yes to the being full quickly thing, I'm very greedy by nature so am finding it very frustrating that now I have my appetite back (mostly) I can't hoover up the massive portions I'd normally eat! Mornings are definitely still a struggle and really feel I'm forcing myself most days but making up for it in the evenings (nothing new there...).

coffeenut · 02/09/2015 01:46

I've had a lot of rolling around and pushing rather than punching/kicking recently. Anyone else? TBH I find it hard to keep track of movements even later on, and as for counting - forget it! Too busy and on the move.

The fb group is nice to see pics etc but I find it harder to navigate and keep up with. I'm also quite shy!! Glad some are sticking around here. yay!

Night do you know much about the ergo? I saw someone using one front facing yesterday and the baby looked v happy! Smile

Blackandwhitecat3 · 02/09/2015 07:33

Tiny, kind of similar but different - I got my BFP a few days after DH's Nan died. A similar thing happened to a close friend of mine. She, like me, had been TTC for a long time, so I just "knew" as soon as Nan left us, that I would get my long-sought-after positive.

Well, she died just after our wee treasure was conceived, and that bubba is kicking around inside me right now four months later. I totally understand how you feel about life being passed on, but remember your baby is alive already, and if it needs some of your OH's grandad's soul/life energy to grow some more, it can still do that in your womb, no need for premature birth. I totally understand where your head is though. Does grandad know about your baby? I wish Nan had known, she'd have been so pleased.

Having a wee cry now Smile. She was an amazing lady.

Arr cr ap! Spent ages typing then pressed wrong button and had to start again!!

Aw b&w....I think pregnancy makes me us very reflective and think about love ones who have passed on even more than usually do as think about what they're missing out on. That makes me quite emotional.

coffeenut I'm quite shy to ( although this surprises some people ha) and takes me ages to join groups. I personally feel the anonymity of this group allows me to put self out there more and freely comment. I think if I join fb though I will set up a fresh profile so that I don't re-engage with my 'real' profile.

lily hope your cramps have passed and feeling better. I think I've also had a growth spurt - bump felt quite sore this morning - particularly under the bump which felt kind of stretched. Fine now though.

21 wks today Grin .

tinyme135 · 02/09/2015 08:56

b&w yeah he knows, but of course he's too sad to be happy cause he will never see him. I was talking to the MIL about it last night and we both worked out the dates and it was two days before he was told the news I conceived. someone up there knew we needed some good news. I also said I got this feeling that this little man will be here by Christmas to help the family through it all. I had this feeling about the sex too. she also said her nan said exactly the same. freaking me out too much haha.

it is quite upsetting thinking of old relatives but knowing that the thought of them watching over us and the bumps makes me smile and I thank his grandad every day for giving me this life inside of me as I don't believe I'd have got caught at all if it wasn't for him.

ugh didn't want to get out of bed today, it's too cold and the bed was so warm haha. was so tempted to pull a sicky but it'll look strange as I have tomorrow off too.

DotterP · 02/09/2015 09:40

tiny I know what you mean about warm bed - the temperature seems to have dropped a bit in the last couple of days, and definitely an autumnal feel in the air! Made me realise I probably need to purchase a maternity coat for winter as we'll be at our biggest during the coldest months of the year. A quick google search turned up a very limited number of options. Any tips?

Feel like I may have felt the my first real movements since Monday. I couldn't say for definite, but I had weird feelings, a bit like a muscle spasm or butterflies in my belly. And then yesterday, had a few jabby feelings that I have never noticed before. All quite low in my abdomen. Nothing so far today, but excited to think this might be the start of feeling baby move.

dotter I got a wool swing coat from french connection (non maternity) and a padded maternity jacket from H&m maternity a bit like this

lilyb84 · 02/09/2015 10:13

Yes to wanting to stay in bed this morning! Although I do love this time of year and the nice wintry smell in the air as it starts getting colder.

Cramps have gone today thanks elvi Smile

dinosaurdaughter · 02/09/2015 10:26

Hi sorry I haven't been on for a while. All ok with the 20 week scan and still very much team yellow.

tiny it is very sad and certainly a time to be reflective about life and death. When I was in my early pregnancy with my dd a lady who always sat opposite me on the train was very upset as her mother was dying and she seemed to get comfort in seeing me grow and knowing that life continues in another form. I hope your oh's granddad doesn't suffer too much.

With regards to the sling debate I have a babybjorn which I didn't get on with and a babasling which was comfortable but I found myself holding baby as didn't feel secure enough to be hands free. In the end I didn't really baby wear much. I will definitely be going to a sling library this time to find the right one as I think baby wearing will be invaluable with a toddler.
I bought my maternity coat on eBay in July really cheap as no one else was bidding. It was a new look one so perhaps worth looking at their stock in the next month or so.

tinyme135 · 02/09/2015 11:25

I never thought about buying a new coat haha, could be worse we could be our biggest in the summer. I'm. not looking forward to how hot it's going to be in cyprus when we go.

coffeenut · 02/09/2015 11:58

that will be me tiny!
It was 38 degrees when DD2 was born in early december.
will be even hotter probably when DS is born!

tinyme135 · 02/09/2015 12:15

omg rather you than me. I'd rather be cold haha xD

melonface · 02/09/2015 13:22

Afternoon ladies.
Loving the coat chat! I do love a good winter coat. Currently bidding on a few on ebay.

Had my 20 week scan today and all looks good. I was so nervous I nearly fainted in the waiting room! Have an anterior placenta which explains why I havent felt much movement, baby needs to seriously kick to get through that bean bag before I can feel!

tinyme135 · 02/09/2015 13:54

glad the scan went well :) I will only feel strong movements on my left hand side as my placenta is on the right slightly

AlohaMama · 02/09/2015 14:21

this is the troulbe with all this ebay activity - i'm sure we're all bidding against each other!! Just had another little look and keep getting outbit. Put a few things on my watchlist the last few days then completely forgot to go back and bid again. oh well....

Elvi1 · 02/09/2015 17:40

That made me giggle - the thought of you all bidding against each other unknowingly and then proudly posting you purchases of fb whilst others think 'that was mine! Damn you bi-atch' haha

melonface · 02/09/2015 19:14

I'm just watching not bidding yet so we can all stay friends Smile

Elvi1 · 02/09/2015 19:58

Phew - glad to hear! Wink

tinyme135 · 02/09/2015 20:12

I've not bedded on anything yet haha.

off out with the OH and his mates even though I feel and look like death but I need to start going out and not going to bed at like half 9 and I have a day off tomorrow so I don't need to worry about getting up :D

coffeenut · 03/09/2015 08:19

I hope you had a great time tiny. Sometimes it's nice to get out even if you don't feel like it to start with.

melon congrats on the good scan. Glad everything is well! "Beanbag" made me laugh - good description.

I had an obstetric appointment today and all went well. Midwife went to check the heartbeat and baby kicked the monitor almost flying (even through the beanbag which is my anterior placenta!), which is what my dd1 would do. He's measuring about spot on for dates. Glucose fasting test booked for 3 weeks time, yuck.

coffeenut · 03/09/2015 08:21

oh and just as a warning everyone, I was very silly and lifted the corner of our heavy blackwood dining table to vacuum and now am hobbling around with a really sore pelvis. Be careful!

melonface · 03/09/2015 08:49

coffee is it the GTT you're having? Midwife said I need to have that too but I'm not sure when. Good to hear your appointment went well! Are you feeling much movement through your 'beanbag'.?! My Granny made me chuckle last night when she asked "what comes out first, the baby or the placenta?" They obviously did things differently in the 50s!

coffeenut · 03/09/2015 09:05

Yep melon the GTT. It's standard to have it here between 25-27 weeks i think? I'm starting to feel more and more movement but it's taken a while to feel more than pops and minor swishing (and most of that until recently was way down low). I'm starting feel a bit above the belly button now which is exciting! (22 + 4). My Gran said they used to be knocked out almost completely with ether in her day! Shock

AlohaMama · 03/09/2015 13:35

Glad your appointment to went well coffee but I don't envy you the gtt. Had that in my last two pregnancies (done as standard in US) and it was a pita, did not enjoy the yuk drink, fasting or sitting around waiting. Nevertheless hope you get a good result!

Point noted on the lifting. I keep getting pulls under my bump from liftING and twisting. Mainly from lifting DD. And vacuuming. Keep mentioning to DH that he's gonna have to step up and take over hoovering soon.

lilyb84 · 03/09/2015 15:21

Argh, vacuuming does it every time for me too! I'm getting really bad lower back / bum pain every night now, it's fine during the day but come the evening (and especially by the time I go to bed) I'm in agony. It's mostly around my bum, only on the right-hand side, and I feel it down my right leg as well - sort of a dull ache by that point, but the pain higher up is sharp. Google thinks it's either posterior pelvic pain or SPD but who knows!

tiny I hope your night out was fun and not too tiring or stressful Smile

I'm bracing myself for Saturday - my DH is playing a gig in Brighton so we'll be travelling down, then I'll be spending a lot of time waiting around while they sound check, plus standing around watching them and the other bands, then we're travelling back to London in the middle of the night. Thankfully I've got out of driving duties after pointing out that I'm knackered post-10pm and likely to crash, but hope they don't mind if I nap on the car ride back...!
