**Ljjeffro I'm not a doctor but I would probably scrap the diet shakes & laxatives for a balanced diet plus pregnacare tablets during the pregnancy.
Maybe try googling or checking Mumsnet & NHS websites for dietary advice during pregnancy. I'm guessing you could ask midwife at your first appointment too.

GrouchyKiwi · 21/09/2015 14:10

Welcome, Handbags!

Re nausea and vomiting: isn't it weird to want to be sick?! Try not to worry about feeling OK. I had mild nausea with both pregnancies, was only sick once with DD1. Sometimes certain foods made me want to throw up, but overall I was fine. Everyone's different - and each pregnancy is different too.

I tend to have a higher libido when pregnant. That hasn't happened so far (poor DH...).

ljjeffro Agree with Picolette that it's best to stop with those while pregnant.

PeasinPod1 · 21/09/2015 14:22

Hi everyone, hope you are all ok and not top stick/constipated/dizzy etc etc...I am massively winded at the mo, really struggle for breath.

Just wanted to give an update, had a scan at 6 weeks today (for those who didn't see my posts have had spotting/bleeding/cramps & a generally worrying time) and finally there is more than just a black sac to see- saw the little bean and a heartbeat flickering away! Was really 50/50 about how it would go, so over the moon - touch wood- all seems ok.

My bleeding did show on the scan so its still "there" so just hope it doesn't make another appearance.

Southy how are you?

Mamama31 · 21/09/2015 14:32

Welcome and congrats handbags!

Peas that's amazing news! Congrats I'm sure your delighted to see a lovely heartbeat :) very reassuring! Did they say what was causing the bleed or see where it's coming from?

GrouchyKiwi · 21/09/2015 14:37

Aw, Peas, that's lovely. Smile Hopefully the bleeding just settles now.

Southy84 · 21/09/2015 14:43

Welcome handbags :)

I agree with everyone who has commented saying put the diet on hold ljjefro
peas I am so so pleased that your scan went well, how many weeks were you at your last scan? I'm still spotting, just when I think it's stopping it carries on :( it's only really when I wipe (sorry tmi) it's been a week of spotting now and on off period type cramps. I'm praying everything is ok but I know I can only wait, like you say mama this waiting is awful x

PeasinPod1 · 21/09/2015 15:00

Thanks guys, really kind of you.

Mamama no they couldn't say why it was there/where from, so just hope it settles.

Southy at my last scan when they saw nowt but a black sac- & was 5 + 4 days...today thought was 6+2 days but she said looks more like 6 days exactly.
I keep asking about bleeding/spotting and they never bat an eye lid when I ask if I should be concerned about spotting, they only ever say to call back in when its a heavy/red bleed. I'm sure you will be fine, and hope the week passes quickly so you have your scan, these waits are horrendous.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 21/09/2015 15:16

Oh yes, ljjeffro, I'd contact your Herbalife coach and tell them the situation but I'd definitely be tempted to put the diet on hold - just concentrate on eating healthy well balanced meals for the moment and then see what your coach says? I wouldn't want to risk upsetting anything.

Thanks Grouchy - sometimes it feels like all other pregnant women are just being sick all the time and there must be something wrong with me! Ha ha. Will be a bit more chilled out about it now and thank my lucky stars that I've not suffering vomiting so far!

Peas - AMAZING!!! Ahhh, that sounds SO SO SO exciting. That must be so reassuring. Hopefully little bean will keep beating away in there until you can see them a bit bigger at a later scan!

Hi handbags - WELCOME! x

Southy84 · 21/09/2015 15:19

That's reassuring peas I was 5+2 and they only saw a black sac nothing in it apart from possible amnio. I will be 6+5 at my next scan. I keep swaying from believing the baby is gone to feeling positive, it's so frustrating and upsetting. Just had a call from my midwife introducing herself- shes booked me in for my booking in app for the 15th October, she also tried to reassure me about the spotting, I think I sounded like a right moody depressed woman on the phone.

Muffin7 · 22/09/2015 06:13

Just checking in as it's my early scan this afternoon, absolutely terrified, definitely didn't get much sleep last night. Not entirely sure how I'll concentrate at work today. Lots of pretending to email I think!

ODog · 22/09/2015 06:38

Good luck muffin. Let us know how it goes.

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 22/09/2015 07:42

Big love and hugs today Muffin - hope this morning goes quickly for you and you'll soon be back here telling us all your good news! Hope it all goes well today x x

Greyhorses · 22/09/2015 07:51

Hope everyone is okay today.

I am having a pretty awful time to be honest. I can not keep anything down at all, not even water or ice, and it lasts all day long from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. The only relief from the nausea is sleep but I can't swallow anything without it coming back within seconds. I am seriously starting to wonder if I can do this!

GizzyBoo · 22/09/2015 08:08

Morning all
Sorry I can't answer everyone personally this morning. I'm on my phone and it's tricky.
Just wanted to say that if the sickness is so bad greyhourses then pop and see the gp. There are tablets you can take to help with the sickness. I had hyperemesis with #3 and it was awful but the med helped. They can also admit you for rehydration if needed (o was in and out for first 12 weeks) but it did get better. Please don't suffer Smile

As for me, well, I can't stop eating. I'm starving ALL the time. I was up at 4:30 this morning craving anything carby. In going to be the size of a house!

Mamama31 · 22/09/2015 08:33

Muffin I hope the day passes quickly for you and that your scan goes really well, I will be checking in to hear back from you and sending prayers your way for a nice healthy heartbeat being picked up at your scan. I know it's terrifying but hoping you find out that all is well today. Big hugs!

Greyhorses I agree with Gizzy, my sister was so sick with both of her pregnancies and was prescribed antisickness tablets. She also went in to hospital once for rehydration. Definitely see your GP as they will provide support and meds. Sorry your feeling so awful I'm sure it is just horrific :(

Gizzy all I eat is carbs, the nausea is creeping in more each day so hoping that stops me eating as much! But carbs settle my stomach. We can be the size of a house together! Haha!

GizzyBoo · 22/09/2015 08:49

Oooh and good luck Muffin Smile
I can't even spell this morning, sorry Greyhorses Confused
And Mamama you're on ??

Mamama31 · 22/09/2015 09:03

Gizzy I'm 6+3 today, is that what your asking? Haha! Or what carbs I'm on?! Ha!!!

ToffeeAppleMarsBar · 22/09/2015 09:14

I seem to have the opposite problem - I keep losing weight. I'm eating perhaps a little more than I usually would but definitely eating more veggies and not a lot of meat (really gone off meat at the mo!). I'm OBSESSED with Morrisons' Roast Vegetable Pizza. I'm worried baby's not getting all the nutrients it needs.

I'm more thirsty than hungry. Constantly thirsty. Hoping that's not a sign of gestational diabetes already!

Echoing what everyone else has said - get yourself to the GP greyhorses. My SIL has had a REALLY sickly pregnancy the whole way through and she's been put on the anti sickness stuff they give to chemo users! She's also been admitted quite a few times. Poor you! Not nice at all.

TiffanyAtBreakfast · 22/09/2015 09:16

Morning all Smile I couldn't get on to MN last night and it was driving me crazy! Glad it's back up now.

Good luck this afternoon Muffin! Come and update us afterwards!

Oh Greyhorses that's not fun. I agree with Gizzy and Mama - Off to the docs pronto! Hope you feel better soon.

I woke up this morning with what felt like really bad indigestion, which I assume is baby related as I didn't eat a particularly huge dinner last night or anything! Sorry for TMI but I'm also a bit constipated, so spent a few minutes extra in the bathroom. As a result DH was in a huge grump because we left five minutes later for work (we share lifts).
I'm in the camp that thinks if you're going to be late there's no point in getting stressed out, but try telling him that... Not a very cheery start to the day! Angry

Greyhorses · 22/09/2015 09:22

Thank you to all of you! Spoken to my GP who seems really reluctant to prescribe anything and has suggested ginger biscuits Hmm but I have managed to get an appointment for lunch time so I hope I can find something that will work. I have already been sick 11 times this morning and have only swallowed two sips of water...
Only a few weeks ago I was desperate for symptoms, ive certainly got one now Smile

PeasinPod1 · 22/09/2015 09:23

Good luck Muffin- sure will be fine! Let us know how it goes.

GizzyBoo · 22/09/2015 09:27

Lol Mamama the ?? Were a mistake. They were supposed to be !! As in "you're on, we'll be houses together"
It was a very early morning Confused

Toffee I lost weight last week too. Think its due to cutting out the wine Blush
Think I'm going to hide the scales. I've spent all year obsessing about losing weight. I need to stop it now.
The baby will be getting all it needs from your reserves and will be totally fine. Are you taking pregnacare or something similar?

And a big yes to constipation Tiffany!

Bluepigoon · 22/09/2015 09:46

Toffee, I think I may have list a couple of pounds too - I haven't weighed myself but my fave is looking slimmer. I haven't been eating overly healthily, so I think it might be from the lack of booze for me too Gizzy!

I had my booking in appointment yesterday. I told the midwife I'd barely had any symptoms and she wasn't the slightest bit concerned, just said that not everyone gets them.

Good luck for the scan muffin!

PeasinPod1 · 22/09/2015 09:53

Have also lost a few pounds! Think it must be the booze Shock

I put on 2.5 stone with DS so very keen to not go crazy with the ice cream and MaccyD takeaways (sorry!) this time.

ODog · 22/09/2015 10:18

grey that sounds horrific. hope the go can help.

toffee, I'm so thirsty too and remember being like this with DS. It's most likely just your body needing extra fluids as it is growing a human!!! So I wouldn't worry about GD. Same with losing weight. Your body is using up far more calories and energy than usual and currently the baby weighs less than an oz. People grow healthy babies in famines so your little one will be getting all it needs.

peas I haven't stopped thinking about macdonalds all day!!! Ahhhhh! So hungry all the time it's basically consuming all my waking thoughts!
