Lol, Seeyalater you had no chance keeping it secret in your line of work Wink Was it you with the t-shirt for your DS to announce the news? Has he worn it yet?

ODog · 12/09/2015 11:11

Welcome muffin and mama.

I was 26 when I had DS and was the first of my group of friends. NCT classes were great for me, by far the best baby money we spent. I still see the girls at least once a week and have visited one couple who moved overseas. Defo worth it IMO. Those girls probably know more about my recent life than my life long friends and family.

Bishboshbash · 12/09/2015 11:26

Hello, can I join? Just got my bfp this morning. Due date the 21st of May I think. Already have DS who is 2.5. Have been trying for 8 months, was so shocked at seeing a line this morning!
I have a great bunch of friends from my previous MN antenatal thread so I'm looking forward to getting to know more lovely people.

Mamama31 · 12/09/2015 11:44

Thanks girls for the support. I haven't booked in with mid wife yet and have booked gp app for after our scan on 28th as don't want to go in too early until I see things are going ok.

It's great to chat to you girls though that will alleviate my fears seeing that some have symptoms and some don't. I did think I felt a few waves of nausea when I was out in the car there but I think I'm wishing it so much it's my imagination (crazy lady I know ha!!) I do have a pack of ready salted crisps beside me that I bought because flavoured ones do not appeal right now but even the thought of the plain ones are making me feel a bit yuk! Taking anything I can as a good sign can't you see :/

Welcome bish! Congrats! I'm sure it's so lovely to see that line after 8 months! Ours took 2 years and it's such a dream come true if I could just quash all the worry!!

TodmordensDog · 12/09/2015 13:46

Mamama we're due date buddies! I have very few symptoms at the minute, just the ones you describe but I've done 3 tests now and all positive so all good!

Hello to all the new BFPs Flowers

Mamama31 · 12/09/2015 13:59

Tod yay!!! So glad to hear that, now you will be tortured by me so please update on any new symptoms so that I can force myself to have them also!! Haha!

Muffin7 · 12/09/2015 14:50

99percentchocolate we are really excited, but I am a worrier by nature so of course have been over thinking the risks etc in the first 12 weeks. I am the first of my friends, we've been married for 5 years though so u don't think it will come as a shock to anybody.

99percentchocolate · 12/09/2015 20:15

Hello bish, congratulations on your bfp! I love these antenatal threads - such a good idea and a really great way of making new friends going through the same things.
Muffin - I agree with ODog about NCT groups - I did nothing with DD for the first few months because I was moving and the NCT near me was rubbish. Hoping I can join the NCT group in my new town this time as I knew nobody with babies near me. It is definitely worth trying.

I told my manager today and she was bloody lovely - even told me that I don't have to wear the work uniform anymore (result!) as I can't get the button done up on my trousers easily already.

She did tell me though that her sister also got a bfp this week and is due in May so I'm now eyeballing you all and will be watching you closely for mentions of location. Hmm

Hope the hen do is going ok toffee and amazing news bejeena glad your scan went well.

Sadly not had a great day, woke up early with stabbing pains on right lower stomach. After an hour decided to go to a&e then got transferred to our local maternity hospital, they were worried it may be ectopic so I had blood tests which showed hcg of 1215 which they said was fine for my dates (4+6) but they don't do scans at weekends and don't scan until hcg is at least 2000 so I'm going back to the epu Monday morning for another blood test. I'm terrified something is going wrong, pain has eased but still crampy. Sorry for the rant, have no one to talk to really Sad

Hope everyone else is ok x

ODog · 12/09/2015 20:49

Welcome bish.

That sounds a bit scary southy but if hcg levels are good and pain is subsiding that's surely a good thing? Will be thinking of you on Monday. Please let us know how you get on.

Southy84 · 12/09/2015 20:52

Thank you odog I hope so, I just want them to scan me so I know there's a baby there and it's in the right place, I know it's mega early to expect that all right now though

Blue500 · 12/09/2015 21:03

Hi all, I'm jumping on board this thread although it feels like very early days. I'm 4+3 and after trying for 12 months it finally feels amazing to say that I got my bfp last week.
I'm currently on holiday in Italy ( I found out I was pg 2 days before we left) and I'm having a nightmare wondering what I can actually eat (no cheese, cured meats, no wine, no coffee and I'm still sketchy on the ice cream) also is sunbathing bad?! I'm trying to take it easy in the sun, but a bonus point is that I've discovered that all the new hormones make you tan much quicker!!

Anyway id love to join this journey with you all, and hopefully you can keep me sane along the way. Btw how on earth do you stop yourself worrying every single day that it could go wrong at any point??

Mamama31 · 12/09/2015 21:04

South hopefully by Monday your hcg levels will have increased and you will also get a scan. The waiting is horrid, surround yourself with some comforts until then. I really hope everything is ok, I know that awful feeling waiting to see how things are and it's unbearable I hope Monday comes quick and all is well. Big hugs!

Mamama31 · 12/09/2015 21:05

And sending prayers your way!

Mamama31 · 12/09/2015 21:07

Welcome and congrats Blue. Unfortunately I'm the wrong person to ask as I do worry every day but I'm trying to stay calm and think positive thoughts taking one day at a time. Keeping busy also helps!

Southy84 · 12/09/2015 21:09

Welcome blue I'm afraid Im not good at not worrying every day :( hopefully it will get better though.

Thank you mama ive just eaten pizza and sat with my feet up, yes I will of course update you, Monday can't come quick enough...

99percentchocolate · 12/09/2015 21:17

Southy - sending positive thoughts your way and hopes of higher HCG levels for Monday. We're here if you need to talk.

Welcome Blue - hope you had a lovely holiday. Unfortunately I'm a worrier too so can't really advise either!

Blue500 · 12/09/2015 21:27

Thanks for welcome ladies :)

Southy sorry to hear what ur going through. Fingers crossed everything is all fine for you. I hope tomorrow is a better day and good luck for Monday xx

Southy84 · 12/09/2015 21:42

Thank you all for your best wishes I really appreciate it, I'm going to bed now in the hope that tomorrow is a better day. Night ladies xx

Seeyalater · 13/09/2015 08:45

Good luck southy, hope it all comes good for you.
Blue- you can eat most stuff, just as long as the cheese is pasteurised, even Stilton is fine. Icecream should be fine, have fun and enjoy!! Those Italian women will be eating all those things and not batting an eyelid Grin and sunbathing is fine, although with sun cream as always! Don't overheat.

Southy I hope you are feeling a bit better today!

For those trying to stay calm, I have also got back in to reading books recently and it has been a welcome distraction from any life stresses. I know not everyone is in to reading but I really am finding that it's helping me.

Southy84 · 13/09/2015 09:41

Thank you both, feeling a bit better today, still crampy and right hip hurts a bit but the shooting pain has eased off a lot. Had a tiny bit of spotting (hardly anything) but not sure if that was due to the cervical exam, I did have spotting at my last smear so maybe it's nothing to worry about. Trying to stay calm - I'm totally going to get my book now mama :) at least that will stop me googling everything that could be happening...

PearlyFish · 13/09/2015 10:42

Welcome and congrats Bish and Blue!

Hope today goes quickly for you Southy - nose in a good book should help x

I was Mrs Exhausted yesterday and in bed by 8pm Shock Feeling much better for it today.

Mamama31 · 13/09/2015 11:58

That's good Southy, take it easy and enjoy your book. Tomorrow will be here in no time!
