Hi DJ and welcome.

I'm on hols this week (1 month left when I get back to work!). But have spent all day today crying hot tears as my back is so painful. It's like a trapped nerve so it comes and goes, but it's annoying because we're by the seaside and I can't enjoy myself and poor DP is lumbered chasing round DS, when I wish I could give him a break (he's a SAHD so this is his holiday too!).

It's like a trapped nerve, so comes and goes but is so very painful and sometimes I can't get comfy at all. Might try and find a chiropractor nearby if it doesn't ease up overnight.

Anyway, moan moan. All is well really apart from being incapacitated. Roll on Christmas I say!

Hope everyone is doing ok. Sorry to hear your bump is playing hide and seek, but best to get it checked out and be sure.
Best wishes to all!

Tangoandcreditcards · 13/10/2015 19:58

Just realised that post is pretty repetitive and incoherent. You get my drift... Brain addled from pain...

Dj02blue · 14/10/2015 12:22

Thanks for all the hellos ladies! Rose that's good about due date will be exciting to see if we really do have new year babies! I'm a nurse, although I don't have a demanding ward based job I am finding my role difficult as I'm having a lot of lower back and pelvic pain! Have a gp appt tomorrow to see what pain relief I can get.

I'm really looking forward to hypno sessions! Did you go for natal hypnotherapy or hypnobirthing? My practitioner is phoning tomorrow so hopefully I can get started soon. I really want a pool birth.

How is everyone getting ready for Christmas? I keep thinking I should have it done and dusted as no chance closer to the time, I'm huge now so chances are if have to be rolled to the shops in a few weeks.

Dj02blue · 14/10/2015 12:24

Tango I feel for you! Sounds like a bit of sciatica, it's awful! Hope it does go away soon for you!

CuppaSarah · 14/10/2015 18:00

Welcome dj! Lovely to have a new face here! Hope the gp will be able to help with your pain.

Sorry about your back Tango, I hope you're able to enjoy the holiday though. If it helps my back was awful on holiday, but the second we were back it got completely better like magic. Probably a coincidence, but blind optimism is my medicine of choice.

I think it all feels very stuck in the middle right now. Waiting to finish work, starting to slow down. It's a bit tiring and going a little slow. Although I have 2 full weeks left after this one before my full.months annual leave!! Cannot wait! Going to make error message cupcakes for my last week as the computer system we use is buggy as fuck at the moment. Hopefully will make people smile, they'll make me giggle at least.

Tangoandcreditcards · 14/10/2015 19:20

Thanks all. Yes, I think maybe it's the holiday-ness that farked my back - time in the car and flinging DS about more than I do when I'm at work.

Been to see a chiropractor and had acupuncture locally so watch this space. Does seem a bit better right now, but been sitting on my bum for a day and a half now so well rested. MIL is joining us tomorrow and we're supposed to be having a day out, fingers crossed because this is a total bust of a holiday at the moment.

dj I've just ordered M&S Christmas dinner so cooking will be minimal (MIL and BIL staying for Xmas, fingers crossed I don't drop on the day). Going to do present shopping online once I'm done with work (end of Nov) - I've bookmarked a few things but hanging out for some deals closer to Xmas. Keeping plans quite loose just in case!

Tangoandcreditcards · 14/10/2015 19:21

PS cuppa shouldn't THEY be making YOU cakes?

CuppaSarah · 14/10/2015 20:22

Fingers crossed for you tango! You deserve a lovely day out! Has your DS noticed you aren't 100% or is he blissfully unaware? I'm glad you got to see someone so quickly.

And pfft engineers don't make pregnant ladies cakes, I'm lucky if I get 'bantz'(shudder) about how fat I'm getting. They're either horrified by my pregnancy or totally nonplussed!

Dj I am proud to say Xmas shopping, minus the stocking fillers is finished! Dh got a tax rebate and we just sorted it all. For Christmas day we're going to my Dads. He makes amazing roasts and has a log burner so it will be very festive. Plus its his first Christmas since him and his partner split, so we don't want him feeling lonley.

HopeItComesLate · 15/10/2015 17:33

Just typed a massive message then phone refreshed and lost it all but hot water bottle is amazing for back pain. I have a physio appointment coming up so will let you know if I get any good tips. Works getting hard already and patients seem to be heavier this winter :-/ anyway breaks over but hope your all well x

CuppaSarah · 17/10/2015 21:12

That's so frustrating hope! Sorry your back is being such a twat to you! How long do you have left at work? I hope not too long.

I have been having some major carb cravings lately. Had this idea of a BBQ beef super noodle wrap in my head for days. I finally ate it today. It was beautiful, so beautiful.

CuppaSarah · 17/10/2015 21:13

Oh tango did you get out on your day trip. Hoping you did.

Tangoandcreditcards · 18/10/2015 07:42

I did thank you cuppa - although it was a bit wet n miserable, I managed a little trudge around a wildlife park!

Hot water bottles are ace hope but the chiropractor really seems to have done the trick, it's not actually my back, it's me troublesome hips (where pelvis meets spine) but it all seems MUCH better now if I take it easy. I'd honestly recommend the chiro hope!

My seaside location for the last week has meant more chips & doughnuts than is possibly healthy too. Carb loading ahoy, makes for an energetic offspring!

Holiday is over now. Heading back home for 1 more month of work. Tick tock.

sherbertlemon17 · 18/10/2015 09:15

Ah Tango, I really fancy those hot sugar ring doughnuts you get from theme parks now! Nom nom!

We had our last antenatal class yesterday. Really glad we did them now, feeling pretty positive and it's given me a kick up the bum to get the last few bits sorted.

Anyone started thinking about their hospital bag? Especially, 2nd+ time mamas, any advice on what to pack?

NoArmaniNoPunani · 18/10/2015 09:40

Is anyone else feeling a bit down now? I'm so fed up with being pregnant and I've still got ten weeks to go.

CuppaSarah · 18/10/2015 09:58

I'm so glad you got there Tango, butni want doughnuts so badly too now!

Sherbert I wrote my birth plan last night and realised I need to pack hospital bags for me and baby. I may be planning a home birth, but I want to be prepared. Plus it saves me requesting stuff and dh looking round for it and pissing me off. Glad your antenatal classes have you feeling positive.

NoArmarni yesterday I had my first, I'm tired and fat and achey tears. I wonder if the weather turning is related to it? It doesn't hell my mum is trying to stir up loads of bloody drama under the name of 'rebuilding our relationship' dreamt I threw her expensive shoes out the window last night though so that helped.

Tangoandcreditcards · 18/10/2015 19:26

noarmani - I feel your pain. I cried and cried and cried earlier in the week. I'm feeling quite "over it" and I'm massive. 10 weeks is looking LOOOONG right now.

cuppa - shut out the drama! You don't need that right now! Be zen and focus on yourself, bump and DD. Flowers

In other news, I've done nothing about hospital bag, shopping or prep. I'm leaving all that until work is over, I just don't have the headspace for it right now (says she, just back from hols!!).

Rest easy this Sunday evening ladies. We're on the home straight! (It's just uphill!)

HopeItComesLate · 19/10/2015 11:46

I used the mothercare hospital list to pack not sure how good it is but I'm packed and ready and car-seat is in the car just incase.
However I am being over organised due to the house move.
Those sugar donuts sound beautiful right now.
How longs everyone got left of work now I've only got 5 weeks left and 2 of those are annual leave both excited and pooing myself all at once.
Has anyone else still got a nameless baby? X

CuppaSarah · 19/10/2015 12:58

Thanks Tango, I'm doing my best to ignore it currently. Not impressed with it all, but taking the high road. Waiting till you finish work seems sensible to me.

Hope I have 2 weeks left at work, then 4 weeks annual leave, then mat leave starts. One more Monday! So excited to finish soon.

Good idea of get organised with a house move on the horizon. Moving house sucks so whatever helps you stay in control. Our baby is still nameless, he'll probably be Thomas, but I need to see his face first. I really like Rory too but dh doesn't.

sherbertlemon17 · 19/10/2015 21:51

Wow hope! Good work... I'm thinking a massive Primark/ Boots shop is needed over half term to get the bag started.

I've got 4 weeks left after half term. Still feeling OK, except for heartburn. It's such a bitch!

We've got a boys and girls name picked out, but can't decide on boys middle name. We've got 3 to choose from; either George, Oliver or William.

cth1982 · 20/10/2015 12:32

Hi Ladies,

Got our cot and chest of drawers delivered and put up yesterday - all starting to feel a bit real now.

I have half packed a hospital bag (PJ's, Bed Socks, Slippers etc.) but nothing for baby yet (as have yet to wash anything!) - I'm hoping less is more as I don't want to drag too much about.

5 weeks and counting until my Maternity leave starts - cannot wait! Still have no name for baby - DH and I cannot agree on anything so it will be interesting - esp hard as we don't know what we are having so need to come up with two lots of names!

Tangoandcreditcards · 21/10/2015 10:32

Wow cuppa - so jealous of your Monday countdown. I counted 4 more Mondays and 19 more commutes (I WFH 1 day a week) until I'm done.

Impressed you've got a cot cth - my DS got his proper cot when he turned 1 (he lived in a very useful travel cot until then). I'm hoping to turf him out once the baby needs an upgrade! I've got to sort through all his clothes for bump and wash/discard anything unusable (should probably have done that before i put them away). I'm not going to get precious about boy clothes if it's a girl, growing up in my DB's hand-me-downs didn't do me any harm!

On the name-choosing front - I always find watching the credits of anything on telly and checking out the names always quite inspiring!!

sherbert I find heartburn much worse if I haven't slept. Not sure how that works but it's true.

Spending my evenings watching telly in 'child pose' (for those of you that haven't done any yoga, on my knees - stretched out arms in front) I'm not sure it's encouraged but it's one way to get comfy. Going to get me old exercise ball out for sitting on today.

I used VERY little from my hospital bag last time (arrived at hosp 20 mins before delivery, left 4 hours later). Better to be over prepared than under prepared I say though. cuppa - are you getting a pool at home or anything, or just going to roll with it?

CuppaSarah · 21/10/2015 12:27

Everyone is so flipping organised I am impressed!

DD has just gone into a proper bed, but msot nights I find her in the cot asleep. We got bunk beds so we don't need to worry about beds and space in the future with baby.

19 commutes is barely any Tango you can do it!!! Most of us are finishing at a similar time(if you don't count my annual leave)

Tango I'm not bothering with a pool, I really CBA with it. The communal bath is opposite our flat and is a really bath so if I need water I'm covered. It even has mobility handles. I'm gonna buy a load of old bedding and make a nest. What's your plan?

horseylady · 22/10/2015 14:56

Hello ladies!!!! Apologies for the lack of posting. Got a bit lost after all the hacking stuff!!

Anyway, joining team blue. 4 weeks today I get my section date hopefully!!!! Wondering if they'll do pre or post Xmas, so at 38+ 4 or 39 +4. Scary times!!!

I have NOTHING ready. At all. I need to do something as it's just mental, but hey, I'm sure it'll all fall into place. Iron currently very low and I have suspected gall stones so it's great!!!

Have we got a Facebook group? Anyone fancy one?

CuppaSarah · 22/10/2015 17:38

I've sent you a pm.for the Facebook group horsey. I cant wait to find our your section date! I think it will be the first confirmed date we get in terms on inductions and sections so it will be brilliant for us all to have it to look forward to. You must be so excited.

It'll all get organised in the end! You have more than enough on your plate to think about. I hope your gall stones aren't too painful, my fil and sil had them and it sounded awful. I hope you're feeling a bit better soon!

horseylady · 22/10/2015 18:17

I think it's part of being the second child!!!! Plus work is crazy, home crazy and literally by the time everything is done, there's no time to sort out baby things. So we'll get it sorted sometime soon!!
