Hi everyone.

Have just reset my PW for the 3rd time after forgetting the others but have been in bed since yesterday anyway so have been AWOL from mumsnet!

Dragged myself into work yesterday, managed 2hrs and got sent home with the threat that if I came in today I wouldn't be allowed in the building! Went straight to bed when I got in, woke up for some tea (just garlic bread) then went back to bed and got up an hour ago. My tummy is flipping something chronic but I don't know if it's hunger or baby... I feel like such a bad mummy to be because I don't want to eat anything.

Re: Middle names, if we are team Blue baby will be Archie Edward Ronnie (then surname) the Edward is DH Grandad and the Ronnie is my Dad.

Night my DH has his poor DM convinced we will name the baby Thor so you are Amazing to me!!!

Re: car seats, our car has Isofix brackets and as we are getting the silver cross pioneer it comes with the car seat that clips onto the chassis anyway.

Although you ladies have just made me panic slightly in the fact that we live in a top floor flat, but the lift only goes to the floor below us (stupid builders) now I have no problem with bumping the buggy up the rest of the stairs but if I end up with a C Section for any reason I'd be stranded!

Also, re GTT, mine is scheduled to last for up to 3hours but in reality you go in after fasting, they take your bloods, you're given a sugary drink to down (lucozade at our hospital) then you're keft for an hour before they take more bloods again. It's tosee how you absorb sugar/produce insulin.

Mine has been booked as my DM, her Dad and Uncle and DH's DF have/had type 2.

SleepyDragon · 21/08/2015 11:38

Oh and....

19+1

Boobs and bump currently equal but no chance of seeing my feet till next year!

ValancyJane · 21/08/2015 11:42

I've also got the GTT to look forward to as Mum, Nan and various Aunties all have Type 2 diabetes. Thanks for explaining what it involved Sleepy I hadn't really thought about it beyond writing the date for October in my diary.

Lily and Miss 18 weeks here too, my pregnancy app reliably assures me the baby is the size of a sweet potato now, which is suddenly starting to sound rather big!

SleepyDragon · 21/08/2015 12:09

No problem Valancy

My SIL had to have one the other year so she gave me the 'lowdown' as it were. Although they misdiagnosed her with GD as they ran over and kept her waiting 2hrs between the tests so she's been fasting for around 15hours, luckily she argued the result and demanded to see the actual consultant not the doctor and she agreed with her!

My app says baby is like a cantaloupe melon... Sounds big! Lol!

brickiemum2 · 21/08/2015 12:33

I think there's quite a few of us having the anomaly scan today. Mine is at 4.05pm. Good luck everyone x

kep1979 · 21/08/2015 12:36

19 weeks today - and baby is as big as a four toed hedgehog.... makes a difference from the fruit comparisons (she's a mango too).

Scan at 3.30pm - glad yours went well coffee - I am very excited to see her again.

Having a bit of a stress today (and Dr Google hasn't helped shockingly). For the last week I've had a patch of redness on my right boob (slightly underneath towards the inner part), and it's a bit puffy in that area. Now it is feeling a bit painful. I am worried it's something serious, so have made apt with Dr but can't get in until Wednesday! I know it's probably nothing but have a family history of breast cancer on my mum's side and so am panicking! Also not sure Dr will take it seriously, as I bet they'll assume it's pregnancy changes. Hoping they refer me to get it checked properly so they can put my mind to rest (or that it disappears by Wednesday!)

kep1979 · 21/08/2015 12:37

Forgot to say good luck for everyone else having scans today!

19+0

kep1979 · 21/08/2015 12:38

And bump winning here - only slightly though as boobs are massive! Plus not much longer until I can't see my feet - I seem to have grown loads over the last couple of days and have definitely put weight on now.

kep1979 · 21/08/2015 12:39

PPS we are trending!!

Pugmumlondon · 21/08/2015 12:59

Thanks all. Just woke up in a complete panic plus lack of movement.

Will pick up with midwife anyway. Thought I was getting better at the anxiety!!!

hotcrossbun83 · 21/08/2015 13:09

Good luck to everyone with scans!

17+6, soooo long til mine :(

Lookingforadvice123 · 21/08/2015 13:21

Ladies talk to me about Braxton Hicks! Think I must've had them this morning for the first time (am 20+6). I was lying in bed and felt what can only be described as a tightening across my uterus, wasn't painful but an odd sensation, and then when j felt my bump it was super hard. It only lasted a few seconds, less than 15 I think, and then I think the same thing happened again about 10 mins later when I was standing up, but then my bump only felt hard on the right side (the side where I tend to feel the baby most). Don't think it's happened since, not that I've noticed anyway! The doc felt my belly earlier when I had an appt for something separate (as I thought it was worth mentioning) and said it felt soft at the time...so does this sound like Braxton Hicks to those who've had them?

mrschatty · 21/08/2015 13:37

sleepy were having archie for a boy too! Great taste!!! Our will be Archie William Surname if a boy...we're team yellow so don't know!
pug occasionally I move to my back but often wake myself up like 'oh damn!'...I find my pregnancy pillow helps! Also I was feeling fluttery movements and pops! But has quietened down a bit now think baby is in another position
18+5 today!

Juniper404 · 21/08/2015 13:40

Looking sounds the same as my experiences. Can't say for sure they're Braxton Hicks but I've had it in both pregnancies so I've never been bothered by them.

MissSMartin · 21/08/2015 13:43

I've had it just once looking and that's exactly what it felt like. . It was after I did alot of walking. . Feels so strange!
brooke try not to worry you might just had a really chilled little baby in there Smile

Aww archie is a cute name! Smile

MissSMartin · 21/08/2015 13:47

I was so annoyed yesterday when one of the managers told my manager that she can't plan in my mw appointment for today and I can't go as it's too short notice despite me telling her over 2 weeks ago.. my manager went mad at her with all the legalities of it ect! she's really in my corner lol

AlohaMama · 21/08/2015 13:56

lovely bump jmac - and the baby shopping!!

pug if you're concerned about lying on your back you could try lying on your side and wedging a pillow behind your back - that way it stops you rolling over so easily.

looking that definitely sounds like BH. For me the rock hard stomach is the dead give away.

B&W we're scan buddies. I hadnt' really been thinking about mine but excited now it's less than a week to go. Can't wait to find out gender and start thinking of names.

SleepyDragon · 21/08/2015 14:53

MrsC great minds think alike lol!

We have our 20wj next week so hoping to find out if we're blue or pink.

Not set on a pink name yet though... Got a few tumbling around.

Think our bubba may have moved too as not feeling much movement wise either.

I keep finding myself on my back but I think that's because laying on my side hurts too much and laying on my front is impossible... I figure if it was so bad my instincts would kick in to turn me over so maybe that's why I wake up.

Nightfall1983 · 21/08/2015 15:06

blackandwhite which Bugaboo?

Sleepy re stairs/buggy: we have a similar situation, kind of. We live in a maisonette and access to our front door is up a set of steps. I have no intention of bumping a buggy up - probably ever! What I will do is leave the buggy/pram in the car - even if I've gone out without the car I would go via the car, put the pram away, pop baby into a sling and carry up the stairs/to front door. Occasionally I might just carry in arms but sling means I can hold other things/hold my toddlers hand/get keys ready etc.
When my DS was a baby we lived somewhere else and had no access issues and I still almost never brought the pram into the house, too much hassle having to store it, manoeuvre it through doors etc. Just something to consider :)

HappyGirl86 · 21/08/2015 16:11

Hi Everyone!
Just saying hello and hoping I can join in.
I'm 17+2 and due date is 27th January. We had a private scan at 16 weeks and we found out we are having a girl...I admit I've already bought some pink clothes, I couldn't resist! Hope it's not bad luck!
I've not got much of a bump at all yet, just generally feel like I've eaten all the pies! I am getting a little bit sick of people saying "omg you don't even look pregnant". I feel like saying "what do you think I've imagined it?!"
I haven't felt anything yet either but this is my first baby. I thought I felt a light flutter but nothing else since.
Be nice to speak to others who are due in January.

Xx

SleepyDragon · 21/08/2015 16:28

Thanks Night never planned on having a sling, just not something we've ever considered lol!

Guess my thoughts were any shopping I may have been doing will be either in basket of buggy or clipped to it.

Bumping up and down doesn't bother me as I remember being bumped all over the place as a kid but it was one of those sudden... Crap what if I can't type things.

May need to look at a sling I guess... Bugger!

JadeMarie123 · 21/08/2015 16:43

Hi guys just checkin in.. Love coming on here and catching up.. All bump pics look great!! Hello to the newbies.. I'm 19 weeks today.. And for the first day for a few weeks feel normal today.. touch wood not feeling down actually left the house and took dd to the park on her bike.. No horrible headache or exhausted hoping this is the start of what's to come :) .. Have a right little wriggler.. Baby doesn't stop moving.. 7 days until we find out what team were on :) so excited.. Can't really join in on carseat discussion as just using the car seat that came with pram that you take in and out.. Wish me luck.. Dress shopping for a wedding tomorrow.. Not particularly looking forward to it.. Would love to here some more names of ideas or children you already have xx

melonface · 21/08/2015 17:12

Hello everyone. wow lots to catch up on! I'm leaving car seats and prams to DH as I really don't care (apart from safety aspect obviously) and he does love a good project to research!

I'm also having the GTT due to diabetes in the family, not looking forward to being starved as I can't go more than an hour without food at the minute.

hope scans today went well. 12 days to go til mine Smile

melonface · 21/08/2015 17:18

Oh and re: bumps, mine is very present now but I've been told all week at work by dozens of people that I don't look pregnant! DH thinks it's funny that I get offended at that as when I'm huge I'll be sulking at people's comments about that too!
anyone dared to weigh themselves yet?!

18+2

kep1979 · 21/08/2015 18:39

Had scan earlier and all looks good although it took ages to find the second kidney and i could sense dh starting to panic. Little lady was curled into a ball and refusing to straighten out but managed to get everything measured. She is very low down and placenta right at top, and also noticed measurements were all about a week ahead. So another big baby methinks.

Dh bought a new tv earlier as was a lightening sale on Amazon so i get to buy the snuzpod Smile.

Am massively craving cheese and wine this evening, can tell it's nearly cote d'azur time!
