Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Ah yes auf that makes perfect sense now finally thanks for taking the time to explain it all.
I didn't have a clue about all this with DD and didn't work out my own due date and had no clue of ov date so the midwifes went with LMP.

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 14:55

DizzyM yes as auf said pregnancy is 40 weeks from LMP assuming ov on 13th, so we ov'd a little later so add a bit on Grin

Want2be congrats but you really should poas to confirm before you get too excited Confused

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 14:58

With DS, he was born 16 days late after I was induced but I am sure the dates were wrong as he was only 7lb 9, and they are meant to grow 0.5lb a week from about 32-34 weeks so don't think my dates were right. And he measured small at the 20w scan but they didn't shift my dates. I wish I had pushed to get my due date changed and not gone through induction. Will be firm this time especially as I know ov was late and will stick with my 8th April date.

Autumnsweater · 04/08/2015 15:15

My only symptoms have been tender boobs and mild indigestion/nausea, know exactly what everyone means about almost wanting to feel nauseous Grin I'm sure I'll regret saying that once it kicks in for real!

I need to tell work really soon because I work with a lot of dangerous medications and radiation.. Pretty nervous about that as its so early on but I know from other pregnant colleagues that the news will spread like wild-fire Hmm. I go away on holiday on Friday for a week though so going to wait until I get back to tell, should be 6-7 weeks by then.

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 15:18

I've told work already so I can take my time for my booking in appointment. Plus as I had a mc in May I would want to know I can just drop my boss a text if it happens again and she would know I won't be in work.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 04/08/2015 15:38

Yay dizzy. With DC I also didn't really have a clue. It was like, oh, I'm pregnant. Last period? Uhm I don't know. So they sent me for a scan and I was measured at 6 or 7 weeks then, so 4 or 5 weeks actual embryo age. It's been really weird knowing and learning about all this stuff over the last long fucking awful infertile crapLP rubbish stupid months since last year. Grin

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 15:48

DizzyM just to add confusion, this link recons we are due on 7th April so 4w+5 today

Issie339 · 04/08/2015 15:52

Hi to all the new people!

I don't really have any symptoms either...felt a tiny bit nauseous this morning for the first time at 5+3 but apart from that nothing except need the loo more often. I don't remember many symptoms with DD though so hopefully it's all fine.

They do say you get more nausea etc with a girl don't they? So maybe all us who aren't feeling sick are having boys Grin

I'm feeling quite nervous about this pregnancy, I'm not sure why. Does anyone know at what stage the risk of MC vastly reduces?

Looks like I'm in here, but I haven't got a clue what my EDD is. Two positive tests this morning, a very dark line on an Amazon cheapie and a "Pregnant 3+" on a Clearblue digital. It's 80 days since my LMP (16th May) and I had a negative blood hCG test earlier in July so given the Clearblue 3+ and the timing of the blood test I'm estimating that I'm somewhere between 5 and (hopefully not) 7 weeks along?

Almost no symptoms at all apart from a stomach cramp that started on Sunday and I put it down to the homemade cheese and egg sandwich I ate at Wembley during the Community Shield...

Autumnsweater · 04/08/2015 16:05

Thats a good point Mummyofone I guess they will need to know either way. Weirdly nervous about telling work, and my mum! Don't know why!

DizzyMerry · 04/08/2015 16:20

Mummy I'm sticking with 7 April as my due date. My cycles vary so going by ov date makes more sense to me. So yes, only 4+5 today. Time is at a standstill!

Want2bSupermum · 04/08/2015 18:21

It was $11 for a test at the local pharmacy and I can get them cheaper at target. With my first I didn't think twice about buying numerous tests but at this point I'm a bit blasé about it all. Also tests didn't work for my first two so don't expect it to work for this one either. I'll probably have to go to my obn for the trans vaginal ultrasound to confirm the pregnancy in a couple of weeks.

Definitelysometime · 04/08/2015 19:47

Hello ladies can I join you? Got a v v early BFP at the weekend and am 4wks pregnant today, due 12th April. Second baby for me, DD is 15 months.

Definitelysometime · 04/08/2015 19:49

I'm also under Kingston dollface and newbie!

Newbiehome · 04/08/2015 21:01

Ahh fantastic Kingston crew! Called them today to check they had received my self referral form and apparently I should hear from them by the end of the week!

Definitelysometime · 04/08/2015 22:20

Ah yes, forgot it was self referral. Thanks Newbie, that might save me a doctors trip. I had DD there last year and they were great, despite a very long and not-so-great labour... Anyway, enough about THAT!

So many DDs between us. Lots of big sisters come April '16 Smile

tessandjude · 05/08/2015 06:54

Can I join please? I got a bfp this morning after finally plucking up the courage to test. We have been ttc for a year and a half and halfway through fertility investigations which found issues on both sides so am shocked and very cautious. I was convinced we couldn't conceive naturally. We also only dtd twice this month as have been busy for various reasons.

I am 31, this is my first (obviously!), and due date apparently 9th April.

Athousandtrees · 05/08/2015 07:23

Morning all! Hi to all the newbies.
I have my first appointment with mw this morning.
I feel really bloated already, I look fecking pregnant!! Might have to tell work earlier than I'd hoped though I'm currently seconded to a different area, only started last week.Confused
Also I was a smoker. But I quit as soon as I got the bfp, with ds it was easy this time I'm struggling. Anyone else?

Londonlady2015 · 05/08/2015 07:58

Hello newbies and congrats tess that's lovely news after a long time.

People I'm becoming impatient...still no word from hosp or doc about midwife appt or scan and I sent in my form a week ago... I'm more concerned as I'm on holiday soon (first world probs right?) and would rather some sort of face to face prior to this for peace of mind.

Excellent OH is dropping in a second form straight to the hosp today so fingers crossed....

meganlilly89 · 05/08/2015 08:03

Did someone mention being itchy?! I have the worst itchy head lol!!

Dollface136 · 05/08/2015 09:13

Yay definitelysometime, we can share info! I'm a first timer so will definitely be asking for some insider info on what your last experience taught you.

I'm still not really having any symptoms, well, besides making myself crazy! Yesterday I convinced myself i was definitely going to have a mc (no symptoms just being insane) and burst into tears in the toilets.

Anyone who has had children already, would you say having discomfort in my hip joints is normal? I'm also really bloated Confused

waxweasel · 05/08/2015 09:22

dollface yes hip pain is normal. Also in your groin and lower back. Sleeping with a pillow between your knees will help. But keep an eye on it if it develops - I had awful SPD which I had a lot of physio for, and it only cleared up recently. It came on late for me - 20ish weeks. Not sure how early is average. The earlier you catch it and get physio referral the better though

Sonofagunsmum · 05/08/2015 09:28

First time posting on MN after being a frequent lurker for the past few years!! Just got my bfp, due date April 11 (according to online 'calculator'). This will be no 2, have a ds who is 3.7 yrs. I have just turned 37 so am slightly freaked out about the increased risks for 'older' mums! Hope everyone has a happy healthy next 9 months Smile

tessandjude · 05/08/2015 09:32

My only symptoms so far are mild cramping (which had me convinced for ages I was getting af) and now feeling so bloated. Does this bloating last long? I think I would rather feel sick.

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 09:43

Congrats and welcome tess & Sonofagun

Good luck this morning Athousand

I am really bloated too, my DPs friend text him last night asking if I was expecting as his partner had seen a photo of me from the weekend. My Nan told me last night I look huge already too. Only 5 weeks tomorrow Hmm also getting cramping, so nervous of mc so keep running to the loo to check for blood, also because I need a wee every 5 mins….
