Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Sorry to hear you have nausea already Ava

I have the sore boobs too. With DS I had 2nd tri sickness, but I really would rather not have it at all! Am getting lots of dizziness and suffering with a cold too. Hope you feel better soon wax, how lovely your DD is sharing the news! My Ds is nearly 7 so very good at keeping the secret, he was also aware of my mc in May so knows it is best to have our little secret until a scan confirms everything is ok.

lulabelle0x · 03/08/2015 14:30

Hello, this is my first post on MN. I got my BFP on Wednesday and according to NHS calc my due date will be 7th April. This will be our first child and we were super lucky and conceived first month trying. Ridiculously excited but trying to reign it in as it's still early days.

Massive congratulations to the rest of you ladies! X

Newbiehome · 03/08/2015 14:39

Dollface I've just completed and sent off my self referral form to Kingston Hospital! We must be (almost) neighbours!

Dollface136 · 03/08/2015 15:15

Yay Newbiehome glad to have a fellow Kingston Hospital goer on the thread Grin

My doctor totally has my dates wrong so I think my scan might be a bit early but do you guys think that matters?

He has me at 6 weeks but that is based on a 28 day cycle and I know I have a 37 day cycle so I believe I am only 4 weeks. I guess they will still be able o see a baby even if I am only 10 weeks when I go, and at least they will be able to confirm dates then right?

Mummyofonesofar · 03/08/2015 15:32

Dollface you midwife will have a dating wheel which can take into account cycle lengths, if not then the dating scan is fine between 10-12 weeks however if you want to downs screening it has to be done after 11 weeks so may be too early to measure the fluid.

Dollface136 · 03/08/2015 15:54

Great thanks Mummyofone The GP used a little card board wheel thingy but got 6 weeks where as the online NHS calculator gave me 4 weeks Confused

I'll just have to request a seperate Downs screening if it turns out I am only 10 weeks at the scan.

Hello everyone Smile I got my bfp last Monday at 12dpo. This is my second pregnancy. My DD is 2.6. I'm 5+1 today and have my booking in appointment next Thursday when I will only be 6+4. No symptoms apart from little waves of nausea and it still feels unreal.

Congratulations to everyone.

Autumnsweater · 03/08/2015 16:32

Hello everyone! I got my bfp on Saturday, due 7th April according to the NHS online calculator. Rang the doctors this morning to make an appointment.

Its my first pregnancy so it feels quite unreal at the moment, only our third month trying and I was on Cerazette so expecting for it to take longer really! Very happy though!

DizzyMerry · 03/08/2015 16:41

Oh and EDD is 3rd April!

Diggum · 03/08/2015 20:08

Just checking in to say hi and welcome to all the new Apriltinis.

Waxweasel your DD sounds adorable. Mine is too young to understand that her world will be rocked in 8 months time!

Told parents and PILs this weekend. Lovely reactions. My DM cried, which was very sweet (I inherit my abundance of emotion for herGrin).

Hope everyone is feeling well. I'll be 6 weeks in a few days so a bit nervous about whether I'll get away lightly with MS again. Fingers crossed!

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 03/08/2015 20:24

Hi everyone, may i join?
I'm due around 30th March but more likely a bit late like the last one :) I have a daughter who's 15 months, I'm 35, and live in north London.

Had a v early mc last month so constantly petrified and have spent a lot of money poas...am just hitting 6 weeks.

Feeling extremely bloated already, hoping this time I don't put on the entire 40lbs I did last time Hmm

BowBelle81 · 03/08/2015 20:40

Is anyone just...itchy?! My skin looks fine (no excema or anything) but I'm itching on my legs, arms, head, face...it's very weird! Is this a pregnancy thing or have I just fallen into a tub of itching powder and not noticed?

(Also I realised I didn't put my stats: I'm 34, no other children, and live in London. Due date April 4th)

Londonlady2015 · 03/08/2015 21:59

Evening all

I'm going to sound utterly ridiculous but I kinda wish I had some sort of morning sickness?! Am 5 weeks 4 days and so far it's occasional cramping and tiredness. Without a midwife appt anytime soon I'm clutching at straws with current symptoms

Anyone else experiencing same sort of thing?

DizzyMerry · 03/08/2015 22:26

So glad it's not only me london. I've had slight waves of nausea and keep thinking whether I'm imagining it! Apart from that I have zero symptoms and I'm wishing I had something to make it all real.

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 08:23

No sickness here either and I really want some I think. Keep checking the line on my teas are still getting darker! So obsessive.

DizzyM I have sent you a PM about the bumsnet grads page x

Dollface136 · 04/08/2015 09:38

I think I am having my first waves of nausea this morning at 6 weeks. I can't face my bran flakes and keep sort of retching and burping. So delightful. I guess this must be the start of morning sickness.

DizzyMerry · 04/08/2015 10:11

Have replied to your pm mummy.

I feel completely normal and it's making me paranoid but then again I didn't do a pregnancy test until I was 6 weeks with DD and think the symptoms kicked in just after that so there's still time.

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 10:47

Thanks DizzyM

I didn't have ms until 3 months with DS. Though by LMP I am 5+1, by ov date I am only 4+3 so lots of time still to keep like crap Grin I have an awful cold anyway. I seem to be drinking 3 litres of water during the day and waking up thirsty in the night!

DizzyMerry · 04/08/2015 11:16

I'm probably being thick but if I got a positive opk on 15 July how many weeks would that make me now? I've always read about people working out weeks and EDD from ov date but I've struggled to understand it! Going by LMP I'm 5+2 today.

ComeLuckyApril · 04/08/2015 11:21

I think sickness normally doesn't kick in until 6 weeks or so. Don't wish it on yourself early! Trying to get to work today without throwing up on the train and I'm only 4+4 - Very worried about how to keep this a secret at work if it's going to be like this for 2 months!

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 04/08/2015 12:16

dizzy I ov'ed and conceived on 10 July which makes me 5w3d today by "normal" count (or 3w3d by actual fertilisation/gestation). If you got a positive OPK on 15 July, and we assume you Ov'ed within 24hrs and thus ov'ed and conceived on 16 July, that would make you 4w5d by normal count if I added the days right. :)
Sorry to hear about people already having bad MS! That's very unlucky!

Mummyofonesofar · 04/08/2015 12:45

DizzyM here is a ov date calculator which tells you how far along you are link It says I am 4+4 not 4+3 like I thought, we ov'd on the same day so you must me the same as me. So we have the same due date of 8th April (though mine is 4th by LMP and your 5th)

DizzyMerry · 04/08/2015 14:24

I'm still confused! If I ov on 15 July and conceived on 16 by that count I'm only 2+3 or am I missing something? LMP was 28 June so going from that my EDD is 3rd April according to the NHS website but that's assuming a 28 day cycle whereas mine is between 27 and 31 days but it's not too far off.

Want2bSupermum · 04/08/2015 14:31

So I've not POAS yet but believe I am pregnant and due on April 2nd. Just returned from visiting family in Denmark and we live in the US. Totally not planned at but we shall figure it out. This will be our third, DD just turned 4, DS is 2 so I will have 3 kids under 5.

We have not told anyone yet. Also have terrible nausea and can't help but think it's a girl.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 04/08/2015 14:38

dizzy yes. Your embryo is 2+3 BUT all dates are calculated to add in an average 14 days pre-ovulation to the start of the last menstrual period. Therefore you are 4+3. So when people say you give birth at 40 weeks, you're actually giving birth at 38 weeks, because that is how old the foetus is. Or am I misunderstanding what is confusing you?
Basically though because you know your date of OV/conception you're ahead of the "common system" of judging which most women will use, which is LMP. So you can just completely ignore your usual cycle timings and ONLY go by date of OV/conception. When you go for your first appointment you can tell them when you ovulated and they should count it from there. I.e. they should write on your notes (e.g. if it was today) 4w3d based on OV even though obviously the embryo is only 2w3d old. If you didn't know your OV date the MW would write down the start of your LMP as 0w0d on 28 June as the standard way of calculation until the scan is done.
When they scan you they will rejiggle according to the size of the embryo/foetus, but it will still be 2weeks ahead of the "actual" embryo age because that's how it is publicly presented. It is likely that if you're sure of your date of OV, they won't rejiggle the age at all!
Yes? :)
