Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Thank you, am just about to leave work now to head to MW.

Not sure what they do at the first appointment, I cant remember from last time! Will up date when I get back.

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 10:29

Hip pain is normal dollface and I started getting slight the niggles in that area last night.

I've got no symptoms really and I'm actually willing them on!

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 05/08/2015 10:30

I am pleased not to inform you all that I have started feeling a tiny little bit nauseous. :( It's a couple of weeks earlier than last time. Which sucks.

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 10:42

Sorry Auf feel free to pass the feeling on to me! Desperate to have some proper symptoms.

You will all be pleased to know I have booked myself a private scan on the morning of my flight to Bulgaria in Bolton, too far to travel on a normal day but sort of on the way to Manchester airpot from us. It is a clinic ran by specialist GPs and only £50 for a reassurance/dating scan at 8 weeks. They said they are happy to do either external or internal depending on what they see on the day to ensure I see a hertbeat before I fly.

Aufwiedersehenpetrarch · 05/08/2015 10:57

You can certainly have it, mummy. moans in mummy's general direction
Great news about the scan though. £50 sounds pretty good too. :)

Thanks Auf! I will be dreading asking for symptoms when flying in 3 weeks time though I am sure!

Dollface136 · 05/08/2015 11:19

Thanks waxweasel and dizzy, good to know my legs aren't going to fall off haha. I am also willing myself to gave symptoms to make it real.

I'm telling my parents on Friday as we are supposed to be going champagne tasting, and sort of wanted to feel more pregnant before then if you know what I mean!

LaPampa · 05/08/2015 11:19

I found out at the weekend two days before we flew to Italy so haven't had a chance to book a GP appt. this is exactly 4 years on from last pregnancy but I can't remember anything about how I went about it last time. Aside from sore boobs and a bit tired I don't have many symptoms at all but I guess it's only 4+2 - I did 3 tests before I left , 1 each morning and all came back with v strong lines. Frustrating not to be able to drink properly or eat salami though :)

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 11:33

Pass the symptoms over here too auf. I feel like a fraud!!!

Great news about the scan mummy.

I told my mum as soon as I found out and then my sisters and sister in law a few days later. MIL and DH's sisters also know! We did the same last time though and it felt right.

Want2bSupermum · 05/08/2015 12:22

Hip pain is totally normal and in my pregnancies follows through to SPD. I have a foam roller with grooves in it which is excellent and I used it last night and this morning. I've moved so need to find a new local chiropractor as that's how I managed the pain in my last two pregnancies. Very lucky to be in the US where the 8 week scan is mandatory and all service providers in my area are very good at booking appointments plus accommodating working hours. I'll also get extra scans done as I had preeclampsia with my first and a huge baby with my 2nd. I have my first appointment on Friday 21st at 7am.

Still not POAS as I fell asleep at 5pm and woke up at 6am. DH was a gem and flew home early from his trip down to Virginia. Poor guy is exhausted too.

wirralmini · 05/08/2015 12:24

Hi I'm new to MN and found out yesterday I'm expecting baby number 1 due 6th April. Hope I'm ok to join :)

Sore boobs, cramps and really horrible back ache are my symptoms. I haven't told DP yet as was hoping to wait to surprise him on our 6 year anniversary which is September 11th. Obviously if I start suffering from morning sickness I'll have no choice but to tell him.

Has anyone else been feeling full and had a lack of appetite?

Looking forward to following everyone else's journeys :)

TriJo · 05/08/2015 12:25

LaPampa I was SO disappointed when I saw that we shouldn't be eating salami, it's one of my favourite foods :(

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 12:29

Wirral congratulations! But you’re going to wait til you’re 10.5 weeks before you tell you DP? Hmm I must admit I find that very odd, your first midwife apt will be at around 8w, each to their own I guess! I am feeling starving and ready to eat everything Grin

Athousandtrees · 05/08/2015 12:29

Just back from the MW appointment. Apparently according to her wee wheelie thing I am 6 weeks and due on April Fools Day Grin

I had totally forgot how everything works, so she gave me a run down on foods to avoid, caffeine amounts etc.

Also as I had a traumatic birth with ds1 she's referred me to the consultant at the hospital, so she reckons I'll be called for a scan and meeting pretty soon!

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 12:37

Glad it went so well! and that you're getting consultant support too x

wirralmini · 05/08/2015 12:42

mummyofonesofar I only thought of doing that because my doctor told me that I'd go for my first appointment at 12weeks but since being on here it seems you have an appointment at 8 weeks :/
Will just have to see what my appointment letter says.

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 12:45

Congratulations and welcome wirral. I would burst if I had to keep it a secret!

Trees it's great the midwife's being cautious and referring you to a consultant.

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 12:53

I would burst too, so many people know already and I have to use all my will not to tell complete strangers!

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 13:01

Lol I'm the same mummy!

Issie339 · 05/08/2015 13:16

mummyofone I feel exactly the same, keep running to the loo to check no blood! I was so chilled out with DD and sure that nothing would go wrong but I'm super nervous this time around for some reason.

trees that's good that you're getting referred to the consultant. I had a v traumatic time with DD too resulting in poor little DD bring in intensive care for a week Sad so I'm hoping to get an elective CS this time. Do you know what happens once you're referred to consultant? I hope you don't mind me asking, I'm just expecting the same situation.

Autumnsweater · 05/08/2015 13:25

Does anyone know if we can get the test for toxoplasmosis on the NHS? If already positive then no risk to the baby and you can eat salami/rare meat etc Grin so I'm hoping so, also don't need to worry about gardening/the cats then.

Definitelysometime · 05/08/2015 13:41

Good to hear you got a consultant referral trees, I'm going to push for the same. What did they say about max caffeine consumption? I've been a bit lax about that, I must say. Seem to remember going right off it at about 6 wks last time so sort of waiting for that to kick in!

Haven't told anyone yet - apart from DH obvs, Wirral I'm amazed at your resolve! I'm going to try and wait a few more weeks. I paid for an early scan at 8 wks last time which helped it all feel a bit more real before I announced anything. Not sure whether to do the same thing again. Anyone else having an early scan?

Mummyofonesofar · 05/08/2015 13:47

Autumn no they won't test for you - you are just advised to continue to avoid everything.

Autumnsweater · 05/08/2015 13:58

Oh no thats rubbish. I know a lot of other countries test routinely.
