Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Hello,

So very nice to read you all and to have a place to vent and share.

I think I am 6+1 (due 13 April?); been having sore boobs since pretty much week 3! Followed closely by nausea. Yesterday was quite rough on the nausea front, made it into work, stayed about 1H30 and had to rush back home because of the waves of sickness (if you see what I mean). Kept everything in though. Spent the day in bed and fed on crystallised ginger. Feeling better today, but already late for work!

Filled in and email back a self referral form 9 days ago; they were supposed to get back to me within 5 working days. No news from the hospital, but I guess they'll probably get back to me closer to 8 weeks (?)

Oh yeah, about me now, that's a first pregnancy (not planned) and I am 37.

Feeling so sick this morning. Haven't managed to eat anything. I opened a bag of bananas and almost gagged at the smell (who knew bananas smelled so strong!) Off to buy some oatcakes before a day of working with small children and animals!

FussyHendricks · 20/08/2015 09:42

Checking in.

Hello to all the new faces!

Very jealous of those not returning to work. I think it makes financial sense for me to go back FT. If I time it right DD will be eligible for her 30 free term time hours (FX that all goes ahead) so our monthly childcare costs should only increase about £300/month from what we are currently paying. Would love to take a full year off but I think i'll probaby go back in Jan 2017. Can't complain at 9 months off though! I may already have my last day in the office pencilled into my outlook calendar! Blush

Had my booking appoinment yesterday - the usual form filling and bloods taken, EDD moved to 28/03, 12 week scan booked forr 16th Sept. Midwife was lovely although kept hammering on about how speedy my last labour was so was encouraging me to consider home birthing options this time round. DH went white as a sheet when I suggested it Grin

Also found out yesterday that DD has suspected hand foot and mouth! Cue a terrible nights sleep and me feeling like death today. Roll on the weekend I say!

I think we have a few early scans today? Good luck Spotted Dexlie and Salty Let us know how you get on.

TriJo congrats on being moved forward to 9 weeks! Please don't leave us! Plenty of these babies will be born in March I'm sure. On my last AN thread they started arriving from 36 weeks!

Hi all,

Had to change my name as the stupid hacker git has me on his list!!

Any stereophonics fans should be able to suss me out! Scared to mention what my previous name was as not too sure what the implications are yet.

Have been feeling better as long as I continuously eat, gonna be the size of a mountain next month.

Rinnyx · 20/08/2015 10:17

Morning ladies
So stressed out as today is my last full day til I move tomorrow and I have so much packing to do I fear I'll still be packing when the removal guys turn up tomorrow.

I did yet another test yesterday (3rd including the nurses) as I'm still in shock to fall on the pill, but even tho I did it in the afternoon it came up positive right away so I guess I need to suck it up and believe we are having baby 3, tho I do have a spare test.

Even tho I'm moving and having a very surprised 3rd I am still stressed about telling work and when.
I don't think I will be able to hide it long.
What a way to start a job with a new employer Blush

If dates are kinda right I will leave when school Easter hols start, depending on how they take the news I would love to return in January 2017 but otherwise I guess I'll have to return September...if they will allow me back.
I know it was a big surprised but I still feel bad about it :(

Sorry to rant on, I've always been an over worrier.
My tutors and senior staff when I was training would always tell me off for this and to relax

DizzyMerry · 20/08/2015 11:43

Good luck wth your scan today spotted.

Mrwriter I'm on the list six times. I don't duplicate passwords and I opened a new email account when I joined MN. Had to change my password on here again this morning. Hopefully that's that. Have been reading the 'am I on the list' thread in chat and it's reassured me that the hacker is very in likely to have any further info. My brain is all fuzzy so can't work out who you actually are!!!

Rinny I hope it all works out well for you at work. Don't feel bad it's not something you anticipated and the stress and worry won't do anything to help. Speak to your employer and hopefully they will understand. It really isn't an uncommon situation.

I woke up feeling nauseous again this morning and have had that bone crushing tiredness since yesterday afternoon. At least I still have an appetite!!!

MsTea · 20/08/2015 12:24

Hi all, another who's had to name change after the security breach. I've changed my name on the spreadsheet so you might have a clue who I am.

Feeling a bit better today, which is worrying, though like someone else (can't remember who sorry) sickness tends to hit me worse in the afternoon and evening. So we'll see. 5+3 today but feel like I've been pregnant for aaaaages. Anyone else feel like the time's really dragging? Or am I just really impatient?!

CottonSock · 20/08/2015 12:34

Time in slow motion here too. 5+1 really! Not helped by insomnia that seemed to have kicked in grrr

mascaraisamust · 20/08/2015 13:05

Hey all, good luck for those with scans today. Symptomless still over here! Waiting to meet my friend for lunch and she is late. I need to eat...

mascaraisamust · 20/08/2015 13:17

Eating a pack of crisps before she arrives and scanning what I can eat on the menu. Hunger is my only symptom!

spottedquoll · 20/08/2015 13:47

Scan was inconclusive - there's something there which looks to be closer to 5 weeks than 6, so I have to go back in a fortnight. Nothing looked bad either though, so that's a good sign. Now, how do I get through the next TWO WEEKS? Hmm

Mummyofonesofar · 20/08/2015 14:01

Why is everyone changing their usernames Sad I have no idea who you all are!! You only needed to change your password - not your name so please everyone switch back!

spotted It is normal at 5 weeks to not see much there, herats don't start beating til around 6 weeks. Sorry you've got to wait 2 weeks but I hope they go quickly for you and show conclusively a heartbeat in there x

ComeLuckyApril · 20/08/2015 14:27

Got my dating scan letter! October 2nd, I'll be 12+6 though I expect the midwife thinks I'll be 12+2 as she ignored my early ovulation and the fact that it's a leap year next year. It seems FOREVER away!

MrWriter · 20/08/2015 14:37

mummyofone, I thought I'd change both just to be sure!

spotted, I suppose no news is good news, hopefully the next scan will be perfect!

TriJo · 20/08/2015 14:44

Got my dating scan moved to a slightly more appropriate time. I now appear to have my booking-in appointment and dating scan in the same week, will be around 12 weeks for both! Seems very late for booking in.

CottonSock · 20/08/2015 15:09

Can I really be showing at 5 weeks, or just been a pig?!!

DizzyMerry · 20/08/2015 15:14

Definitely can be showing at 5 weeks cotton Wink I've been showing for weeks now!

Just gone off cheddar cheese. The thought just makes me want to throw up! Time is definitely at a standstill. Seems like ages ago when I got a positive preg test.

I can't work out who's who either Confused

DizzyMerry · 20/08/2015 15:18

Oh and I told work last week. I work on a specialist advice team and there's only 4 of us. We do have our own workload but when doing outreaches we need to make sure we've got someone to rope in as can't just cancel them. We have volunteers and a generalist service but all need enough notice so it makes it easier all round. My employers are great so no problems there.

Mummyofonesofar · 20/08/2015 15:31

Cotton I think in these early stages it is mostly bloat for us as the pelvis hold the uterus back and it hasn't lifted out at 5 weeks. Water retention is a pg symtom. Drinking 2 glasses of fruit juice a day is meant to help. Along with drinking plenty of water. But if like me and this doesn't work - just enjoy it Smile

MrWriter · 20/08/2015 16:05

Yeah I'm really struggling to fiond things to wear to work that aren't that tight that hide the preggo bump/bloat/whatever!

My scan is next Friday, then Im off on holidays for 2 weeks after, so plan on telling work when I get back. The only issue is I'm seconded at the moment so don't know if I need to tell my own boss and my new boss or what?

mascaraisamust · 20/08/2015 16:42

Spotted maybe you conceived later. My LMP due date and the conception due dates are a week out. I'm expecting them to date me at least a week less when I go for my scan.

mascaraisamust · 20/08/2015 17:11

I ate tartar sauce today at lunch? Is that allowed?! Oops.

Sophia1984 · 20/08/2015 17:47

Anyone else finding it hard not telling people? Had a cuppa (de-caf!) with my mum today and I normally tell her everything so it felt really weird not mentioning it cause it's all I'm thinking about! Also had a good friend tell me she's expecting and was so hard not to say 'Me too!' We're waiting till after first scan as I don't want people getting excited and then something going wrong. I know my mum will go into planning, knitting and buying overdrive once she knows and I wouldn't want to deal with that if I had an MC. Don't even know when my scan is yet :-(

mascaraisamust · 20/08/2015 18:12

I'm finding it so hard! My friend I went for lunch with was talking about our spare room and saying it's an ideal nursery size, I had to shrug it off. My mum keeps asking what's new everytime I call her and I say 'oh nothing...'. I have had the 'when you have kids...' comment from two people this week. It's so hard not to blurt it out! I want to wait until 12 weeks to tell people. I'll probably tell the boss at 10/11 for my appointment all being well. But just between us two at the moment.
