Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Wow twins! That is amazing news mumof3!

CottonSock · 18/08/2015 17:00

Wow mumof congratulations on twins. That happened to a good friend of mine so she had three under 3.

poco I was on July 2013 thread in early days, but gave up on it at some point as couldn't keep up. DD was born 9 July 2013.

Re uneven boobs... I can top that. I discovered I have extra breast tissue under one arm during last pregnancy. Gross, and no doubt it will cause problems again.

I am 5 weeks tomorrow, and past the stage of my most recent mc, so starting to feel almost like I could get excited. Can't believe how many share the same anxiety.
I guess in the old days there were no sensitive tests, digital test, Early scans... So it was just wait and see.

KnitsBakesAndReads · 18/08/2015 17:32

Congratulations on your scan megan and glad you're feeling a bit more relaxed after it.

And congratulations x 2 to mummy, what fantastic news! Must have been quite the surprise when they told you, but I bet you're also really excited.

Mazzle, we haven't told anyone yet as still feels a bit too early. I think we'll probably wait until after the 12 week scan to tell people, though we might end up telling close friends who we see a lot before then.

mascara, I'm off on holiday in a few weeks time and have lots of the same questions about food. Are you going somewhere quite touristy where English is widely spoken, or will you have to try and ask about food in another language? I'm not looking forward to trying to ask about food as my Spanish isn't up to much, so think I might well be on margarita pizzas all week too (I do like pizza though so can't complain too much!). I'm not looking forward to having to wear flight socks on the flight - they always look like they must make your legs really warm an uncomfortable. Oh well, needs must and all that.

Today I've been feeling mostly okay and then suddenly started feeling sick while I was on the way home from work this afternoon. It reminded me of that scene in Friends where Phoebe jokes about getting her morning sickness in the evening...never realised until now that was actually a thing!

ashboo76 · 18/08/2015 17:49

Omg twins I'm well jel I'm 39 and to have two at once at this stage would be ideal but think DH may have to settle for 1 Grin

Also congrats on scan Megan! I haven't cracked yet just going with the fact I have a really good feeling about this bean after last time (mc)feels totally different I'm 5+4 so feel free to say I told you so in 3 weeks when I change my mind lol. Got my booking in at 9 weeks and scan in post apparently so will see Thanks

Rinnyx · 18/08/2015 18:10

Hi ladies, mind if I join you?

I have a DD who is 13 next month and DS who is 4
Still in shock to be pregnant with a 3rd as I was on the pill and DP and I had agreed to no more as I wanted to persue my carer more
Only just agreed Saturday to go ahead with the pregnancy.
Not sure when I'm due but we are guessing first half of April.

Kind of stressed as I am moving Friday so need to sort midwife ASAP and I start my new job next month after 18 months of study for it so I'm upset and stressed about telling them and maybe losing my job :(

Only had sore boobs, already slight pop I think but no morning sickness so think its another boy as had none with DS but 7 months with DD

Anyway sorry for long post or any typos as on phone xx

NFareed · 18/08/2015 19:10

Still new to all this. I got a positive test 2 weeks ago. I think i am on week 6 now. According to the pregnancy apps anyway. Still trying to figure out what to do from herre. I have a viabilit scan booked for tomorrow so hopefully that goes well and i get an accurate dating. The calculator thing says i should be due 9th of April but my cycles weren't very regular so im not sure if thats accurate. Am i supposed to be seeing an OBGYN? Most doctors say they only start seeing pregnant women by their 12th week. Is that true? Also could someone please recommend pregnancy books? Do i go with the infamous what to expect when you're expecting. Or does anyone have other recommendations?
No huge symptoms yet, just huge boobs lol. Had to buy sleeping bras and i must say they help. I have some period like contractions from time to time but thats prett much it. Mrning sickness hasnt kicked in yet.

KnitsBakesAndReads · 18/08/2015 19:11

Congratulations Rinnyx! (And also congratulations on your new job.)

If you're worried about potential problems with your work then make sure you know your rights before you tell work about your pregnancy. It's against the law for an employer to dismiss someone because they are pregnant.

This website has lots of information about what you're entitled to, everything from paid time off for your antenatal care to when you have to tell an employer about your pregnancy. Also, if you're a member of a trade union then they'll be able to give you helpful information and support you if your employer doesn't want to respect your legal rights.

DizzyMerry · 18/08/2015 19:25

Congrats to all newbies and welcome.

Congrats on your scan megan. I'm glad you're feeling more relaxed now.

Mummy congrats once again on your fab news.

No real symptoms here apart from on and off nausea. I'm still anxiously waiting to be hit with symptoms. Tried talking DH into an early scan but he's not keen so I didn't push it any further. He's a positive person through and through and believes everything will be great. Hopefully he's right and I'm just worried over nothing.

Londonlady2015 · 18/08/2015 19:30

Wow so much activity in one day! Huge congrats mummy and megan on the successful scans and hello to the newbies

carrot thanks so much for the link, it looks really useful. I'd meant to say this ages ago but v pleased you're here, and hope next week goes ok for you.

So despite only being 7+5 I told my boss today. Passing out in loo and being sick down myself was pretty hard to hide. Embarrassed doesn't even cover it. Luckily I didn't hurt my head or anything but apparently looked like death coming out of bathroom! She was great though.

So that makes it three faints in three days. Feeling better now after a day of rest and plain food but I have a 13 hour flight then 7 hour flight in the next couple of days which I'm now dreading. I have a telephone appt with GP to see what else I can do.

Add to that the fact that I can't get through to hosp to rearrange booking appt and I'm feeling emotional and frustrated.

Sorry for the rant ladies. Holiday will be much needed I know, but I just feel a bit overwhelmed at the mo.

pocopearl · 18/08/2015 19:32

So completely unbelievably jealous mummy congrats!

KnitsBakesAndReads · 18/08/2015 19:35

Hi NFareed and congratulations on your pregnancy!

Are you in the UK? If so the best option is probably to see your GP to be referred for antenatal care. (Some hospitals let you self-refer to their antenatal teams, you could look up your local hospital on the NHS website to see if that applies to you.)

On books, waxweasel recommended 'Pregnancy for Modern Girls' which I'm going to start reading soon. I've also heard good things about 'Bumpology' although I think that's a bit more science-focused so might not be everyone's cup of tea.

(And sorry everyone for filling up the thread tonight, I'm sitting on the sofa with my laptop and reading lots of Mumsnet threads as I'm feeling too worn out to do anything else!)

Rinnyx · 18/08/2015 20:08

Thanks Knits I'll check it out (still on phone)
I'm worried of losing the job to the point I'm willing to go back in the September (I'm going to be working in a school) tho would love more time with the lil one

I'm hoping I can push for an early scan to get an idea of a due date, not knowing is a stress as I knew with the other 2 right away!
Plus be nice to know as I MC twice, both at 6 weeks one after the other a few months before I fell with DS

Still haven't 100% got my head round being pregnant again Confused

MazzleDazzle · 18/08/2015 20:17

Wow mummy that is fantastic news! You're head must be reeling.

Congrats on your scan too Megan.

I can't get through to the hospital either London. It's really frustrating! Mind you, the NHS must be cursing these early pregnancy tests - in days gone by they would have gotten peace for the first 2 months at least!

So my plan to keep this pregnancy too myself has been blown already! My sister picked up my phone and my browser was open. I'd been searching for local scanning clinics. I'm a bit annoyed as I really wanted to keep it a secret between my DH & I. Wanted my two DC to be the next to know. Oh well, it's done now. If she spills the beans to anyone though I'll flip!

Had a nap today for the first time in years! Thought it was a sensible option as it was the first day of the new term so eldest was at school and youngest has started nursery in the mornings. Kids were up through the night, then up early and I'm working tomorrow so took advantage and got an hour's kip! Really wish my DH was here. It's gonna be a long 5 weeks!

Mummyofonesofar · 18/08/2015 20:45

I am completely overwhelmed and just. argh!!! I'm growing two babies inside me! Just in shock but very excited. Thanks everyone

woundbobbin · 18/08/2015 21:12

Congrats mum(of 3) twins that's terrifying (am not at all jealous id be shitting myself) sorry that's not very helpful.

Also congrats Megan and welcome newbies.

7+2 here and up and down with vomiting and feeling very woozy. I've not told anyone at work although reckon they might have figured it out cos I'm not eating much or drinking tea it's annoying as wanted to keep it to myself but it's hard when you are pukey!

CarrotVan · 18/08/2015 21:21

That's wonderful mummy so pleased for you

TriJo · 18/08/2015 21:23

So apparently I am a whopping 9 WEEKS along and should go off to the March thread! Just one baby here thankfully, with a perfect 170 bpm heartbeat and 22mm long :)

meganlilly89 · 18/08/2015 21:30

Congratulations on twins mummy!

And congratulations trijo! That's fab news x

ashboo76 · 18/08/2015 21:51

Congrats trijo wow I'd live to skip to 9 weeks that is my bench mark praying for that week to come soon! Don't leave us tho your bonded now ! Wink

TriJo · 18/08/2015 21:57

Even if I have to be quite overdue to have an April baby? (new EDD is March 22!)

TriJo · 18/08/2015 21:59

Need to ring up tomorrow and change my 12 week scan date because it wouldn't be ideal to be 14+2 at it and shout at them for a booking-in appointment too...

Want2bSupermum · 18/08/2015 23:11

TriJo that's great news. I would do the scan as close as you can to 12 weeks because it gives you wiggle room if something comes up. With DS I had the scan at 14 weeks and my blood work done at 13 wks. It was as late as they like to go.

Dexlie0806 · 19/08/2015 00:01

Wow mummy, twins. Huge congratulations to u. That's so so special.

Congrats trijo on your scan too. That's fantastic u have been pushed forward.

I too wish I could skip to 9 weeks. That would be another 2 weeks of sickness out the way Hmm. Def jinxed myself this morning saying I felt better. Can't sleep I feel that bad.

MazzleDazzle · 19/08/2015 06:42

Wow trijo! I'd love if that happened to me. You may well have an April baby. My 2nd was 15 days late! Shock

Mummy I would love twins. My friend has had twins, twice! It's like getting two babies for the hassle of only one pregnancy. Winner! Grin

I have already decided that I'm giving up work after this baby arrives. I'm 34, have worked since I was 14. I worked weekends, I worked after school, I worked in the holidays. I worked through uni. Most of the jobs have been bloody miserable ones. I hated uni. Couldn't really enjoy it as I was working soany hours. Stuck it out and went into teaching English. It is all consuming, but I love it. However, my DH works away for 7 months of the year. When he's away I am ratty and shouty with my children because of work stress. I had a year's career break two year's ago and it was wonderful! I've also been sensible and looked into all the finances, saved plenty and considered the possibility of getting back into teaching, when I'm ready.

It is SO liberating to know that, for now, I won't be going back!

Mummyofonesofar · 19/08/2015 07:17

Wow TriJo 9 weeks already!

I'm due 7/4 but realistically will be having these twins in March as they will come early! But will stay here Smile
