Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Ooh good luck Megan.

I was one of the ones last time with no sickness - sometimes more prone to feel travel sick but no actual vomiting and I wonder if it was all in my head anyway! But DD is absolutely fine. My mum apparently was similar, only sick once throughout either of her pregnancies.

ComeLuckyApril · 18/08/2015 08:56

waxweasel same here, I keep thinking 'could I actually have flu, is pregnancy really this bad?'. No way could I exercise!

good luck Megan!

Finally got a slightly better night's sleep by realising how much I warm up under the duvet in the night (I'm usually a chilly person) and leaving off the PJ bottoms. But the whole upstairs smelt terrible, all oniony and I don't know what's causing it. I tried to mask the smell with lavender oil, and now I think I've gone off the smell of that too. Plus it turns out DH hates the smell of lavender, so he was a bit disturbed to find the bed smelt strongly of it. Convinced I'm about to throw up all the time, but haven't yet (I hate throwing up and it's exactly the same when I'm ill).

Ugh. I have to do a big all-day event in a few weeks, but the people I'm doing it for don't know, and I'm not sure if I'll be well enough to handle my share of it.

TriJo · 18/08/2015 08:57

Have mine at 5pm today, so have to sit around in work all day getting nervous!

Felt like boiled shite all day yesterday then went to the gym and instantly felt a million times better. That is seriously weird.

mascaraisamust · 18/08/2015 09:22

Good luck megan and TriJo. I've been getting really cold at night, I've had to wrap up. To all those with no symptoms, you are not alone. They'll probably kick in on holiday next week.

Has anyone got any advice when going abroad in these early stages? I think I'm more concerned about understanding what I'm eating is ok and whether it has been washed. Trying to communicate this in another language is another thing...

MsGlitterJunkie · 18/08/2015 10:15

Good luck megan & trijo

I'm also getting really cold at night, had my thermal socks on last night! And tired to my very bones despite sleeping at least 8 hours every night, feel as if I have a constant hangover, queasy but not being sick and like I have a heavy cold. Very strange indeed!

No specific advice mascara apart from the standard food do's and don'ts. It might be worth mentioning that your pregnant before ordering anything although I know the French for example are much more relaxed on what you can/ can't eat while pregnant.

tessandjude · 18/08/2015 10:22

Sickness is starting to kick in a little. Almost puked making dh a coffee this morning but felt instantly better when I say down. Eatng also seems to help.

Mascara, I was on holiday when I found out. I just googled the nhs guidelines and stuck to them. I only really had to avoid alcohol, caffeine and some cheese and meat. A lot of the things, eg certain meats, pates, etc I don't like anyway. I think soft Mr whippy style ice cream is a no no too but I had plenty of gelato style instead!

tessandjude · 18/08/2015 10:24

I also stayed away from salads because of the washing thing and justy drank bottled water although was in a European country and sure there wouldn't have been a problem.

mascaraisamust · 18/08/2015 10:26

Thanks all, I'll be extra careful. If all else fails margarita pizzas it is all week.

meganlilly89 · 18/08/2015 11:54

Scan went fab. Feel more relaxed now. Little bean & heartbeat seen and we heard the heartbeat. Measuring at 7w 3days so abit ahead of dates. But that can all change still.

Good luck trijo for your scan x

mascaraisamust · 18/08/2015 12:07

Great news Megan. Can't wait for mine in a few weeks

Dexlie0806 · 18/08/2015 12:33

Fantastic news about your scan Megan. Congratulations.

I also feel loads better today (still not 100%). I have felt so so ill these last few days but today woke up feeling so much better. I'm def happy about that because don't think I could cope for the next couple of months feeling that bad. This is more manageable.

So the midwife will receive my details this afternoon and will ring me at some point this week. The mw is only at my gp surgery one afternoon every 2 weeks so I won't get to see anyone for at least 2 weeks. All I hope is that there is enough time to refer me for my 12 weeks scan on time. I have changed gp surgery since my last pregnancy so it's all different and haven't a clue how it all works now

CarrotVan · 18/08/2015 13:39

That's great news megan

I'm thinking of asking if I can have antenatal care at the local hospital as they have a clinic every morning. My GP surgery only has a MW clinic on a Tuesday lunchtime which is difficult with work

Mummyofonesofar · 18/08/2015 14:57

Bit of a catch up everyone as I wasn't here over the weekend:
Glitter glad your scan went well hun.

Congrats jbailey, cotton, crumbly, 5madthings, wishy-washy, knits, kezzy, dizzylemon, mazzle

megan congratulations on your scan! Great news.

Salty sorry you had such a bad experience with not booking in, not long til your scan now though.

Mazzle I have told the people I am close to at work, my neighbours who are friends, my parents and DS’s parents and our siblings. I can’t keep this a secret! No idea how you will resist a scan too but you can’t really go without DH!

LaPampa congrats on a healthy scan! Sorry about the pain from the cyst though.

mascara I go away next week too so will gladly listen to any help! I have got flight socks at the suggestion of the pharmacist.

I had spotting Friday afternoon, felt like death so went home and slept, then had more spotting Saturday, the same time I had it last time with my mc. Was booked in for a scan today at 10.20. Guess what? 2 strong heartbeats, we are expecting twins. Both either side of the dates I had for ovulation so I am 6+4 with one and 6+6 with the other!! Will post a pic for you all Grin

Mummyofonesofar · 18/08/2015 14:59

Twins!

mascaraisamust · 18/08/2015 15:11

Oh wow mummy!

mascaraisamust · 18/08/2015 15:14

Ah mummy, that's lovely news!! Do they run in the family or is this a little nice surprise? Hope all is well with you today.

Didn't even think of flight socks!

Mummyofonesofar · 18/08/2015 15:17

Complete surprise - no twins in the family at all! Can't wait to tell DP tonight. Such a shock but I am ok.

Hanky3 · 18/08/2015 15:24

Omg, YES to the boob thing! My left boob is enormous and I swear the other one hasn't grown at all. I was showing DH yesterday and worried that only one might make milk and I would be a lopsided lemming for the next year!

Huge congratulations mummy of one- so crazy that you will go from one to three in the blink of an eye Smile. Congrats to Megan and laPampa as well- hoping your cyst pain is not too bad Flowers

tessandjude · 18/08/2015 15:30

Twins! That's amazing! Congratulations, you must be so surprised and excited!

Mummyofonesofar · 18/08/2015 15:39

Thanks Hanky I know! 1 to 3! I always wondered if I would stop at 2 or have a third - this made the decision easier!

ComeLuckyApril · 18/08/2015 15:47

Wow, twins!

Pretty envious of all these scans, cracked and booked for for 30th April when I'll be 8 weeks.

FussyHendricks · 18/08/2015 16:08

Mummy that is amazing news! Huge congratulations! Smile

Athousandtrees · 18/08/2015 16:10

Wow mummy twins!! Fantastic news and I'm a tad jealous of your scan picture! Glad all went well.

waxweasel · 18/08/2015 16:19
