Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

I had my dating scan on Fri as I didn't have a period after my last pregnancy. I was 6+0 so I couldn't see too much but could see the heartbeat which was exciting. Can someone please update my stats as I'm away on holiday and can't do it in my phone. I'm 37, Due 8/4, I have a DD and I live in Surrey. The last 10 days have been horrible as my 8.5month old is going through a sleep regression and is waking 10+ times a night and this is at a time when I have been feeling sick and tired all day long.

Emileelogan · 16/08/2015 22:40

Hope everyone is doing OK... I feel that I've not had many symptoms this weekend maybe I should enjoy it?

kezzyk8686 · 17/08/2015 07:08

Hi everyone! So glad to finally find a thread that I can join in!
I'm just over 5 weeks and this is first pregnancy I found out on Thurs aafter thinking my period was coming because of cramps (I still have these cramps ) things haven't been good at all since I found out I have been so worried ...were to start! I have been on codeine for 5 years for arthritis in spine soon as I found out I foned doc for advise her advise was to stop straight away ..so I did .. well I have not slept ( it's now 07.04 and I am still wide awake yesterday was the worst irritable pain so bad in head I couldn't stick daylight! Hot and cold shakes and the stomach cramps and diarrhea. Foned doc on call and she advises to wean of .. so here I am so worried that something has happened and that's why I have had cramps for 3 weeks and battling a withdrawel so as soon as it hits a quater to 8 I'm off down to open surgery to talk to doc properly put my mind at ease as well hopefully . Is anyone else worried to you also feel in limbo as u can't really get a scan until 2nd trimester?

So sorry to ramble and congrats or fingers crossed for all u ladies xxx

CarrotVan · 17/08/2015 07:42

You can take proper painkillers during pregnancy under medical supervision but it's best to wean yourself off codeine as you get towards the birth because it can make the baby sleepy and slow labour. You might find it useful to ask for consultant led care so your pain can be managed more effectively

Londonlady2015 · 17/08/2015 07:48

Morning all,

6 + 4 and nausea really kicked in this weekend. Caught a whiff of a wheelie bin when doing chores and fainted yesterday! Just nearly passed out again this morning :-(
Fainting is, sadly, relatively normal for me but still not liking it nonetheless. Have GP appt shortly to get her to sign a fitness cert for holiday activities but to be honest sounds like worst idea ever. I also tend to have more pelvic aches on my left than centre so going to bring that up.

Doctor is going to love me!

CarrotVan · 17/08/2015 07:48

emilie my symptoms didn't seem as bad over the weekend but I was really, really busy so I'm guessing I was just distracted. I did manage to tweak my pelvis doing too much.

Today I have stabby pains in my boobs and a job interview to get through before I can go on holiday. Plus I'm not sleeping well

dexlie my sis had hyperemesis and she used to wedge a massive Starbucks paper cup between her legs when driving so she could throw up at traffic lights

Eating my way through mild nausea is what made me put on loads of weight. I sorted through my old maternity clothes yesterday and can't believe I was ever that big. I'm not skinny now but these are half as much again in width even taking into account bump coverage

CarrotVan · 17/08/2015 07:52

Are you ok london? There are some yoga moves here that help with pelvis aches

FussyHendricks · 17/08/2015 07:59

Morning all. Hope you all had fab weekends!

We had a busy Saturday which meant I was utterly exhausted yesterday and had 2 naps!

Overjoyed to be doing the Monday morning commute again Hmm but I have a bag full of those Preggo drops you recommended Waxweasal so hoping it makes the journey a little easier.

Also filled out all the questions in my maternity notes yesterday ahead of my booking appointment on Wednesday. Forgot how long that takes!

Welcome to all the new people! If you haven't already, feel free to add your stats to the spreadsheet Msglitter linked above.

SaltySeaBird · 17/08/2015 08:03

Wow lots of people and chat since I last posted, hope everyone is doing okay.

I'm struggling a bit with nausea and sore boobs. I went for a run at the weekend and even with two sports bras on I was definitely wincing at the slightest jiggle.

Had a poor booking in experience. Made the appointment (as requested by my consultant), turned up but they wouldn't run through it until I've got more evidence of the pregnancy progressing as otherwise it might be a waste of time. This is because of my medical history so not normal but I still came home and cried my eyes out. I did another CB Digital and it still says 3+. They said to wait until it's been confirmed with a scan showing a heartbeat which all being well I'll see this week. Was meant to be last week but I couldn't make the appointment so I'm a week out (normally scan me on even weeks of the pregnancy so I had 4 but didn't see much, then meant to be 6, 8, 10, 12). I'm 7 weeks this week though ...

Feel very worried about it!

FussyHendricks · 17/08/2015 08:04

Hope the GP appointments go well today Kezzy and London.

Good luck for the job interview Carrot!

Londonlady2015 · 17/08/2015 08:46

Ok so I just cried on my doctor. Oh dear. She was so so lovely though. Not much she can do as I'm not actually being sick just nauseous. Understandably didn't sign my certificate of fitness form! She said I shouldn't worry about calling in work sick if I needed to. I bought up my pelvic aches and she said I shouldn't really be having any?? And to keep an eye on it.
Sounds dramatic but wish I wasn't going on holiday so I'd be away from everything now...
Sorry for two rants in one morning ladies

Athousandtrees · 17/08/2015 08:53

Morning all,

Sorry to hear about the nausea. Ive been munching croissants and yogurt each morning and it seems to stem the barfing to lunchtime!

I phoned the hospital and managed to change my booking appointment to 28th August which is the Friday before I go on holiday. Thank goodness, or I would have spent the whole holiday worrying.
Also cause I changed the appointment I get a different consultant and this one seems to appear more on google, the previous one didn't get mentioned at all!

TriJo · 17/08/2015 09:23

9 hours sleep last night and I'm still fcuking wrecked! The tiredness has really hit in the last few days. Almost puked on a bus last night as well when someone got on smelling like a mixture of cheap aftershave and football training.

Have my scan appointment for mid-September, but still nothing about a booking-in appointment? Should I ring them again and ask?

Dellabob123 · 17/08/2015 09:30

morning all.
Im getting slightly worried now as a lot if you ladies have seen morning sickness kick in now and I havent got a jot. That sounds amazing i hear you say, however, id like a little sign that i was still pregnant Confused as i have no idea. i took a cheapie test at the weekend and it was still positive.

I definitely had nausea this time with DD. Has anyone gone through pregnancy with no sickness before?

salty sorry about your booking in experience, thats just so disheartening.
Flowers too you and londonlady

I still have potentially another 3-4 weeks til booking in. Its really dragging.

ashboo76 · 17/08/2015 10:00

Della I don't have any sickness either but you may be further along than me I'm only 5+3. I have very sore boobs and bloating. Only other symptom being on and off backache and yesterday fell asleep for an hour no warning. Today I feel great am bouncing (and annoying most Monday morning blues people lol).

I'd say try and relax especially with a positive test as I guess there's nothing much more we can do just yet. I hope this doesn't sound flippant I had a mc in March so I do know it's not a given at this stage and not everyone gets morning sickness even tho I would welcome it too xxThanks

crumblybiscuits · 17/08/2015 10:22

I have no MS either della and it's mildly concerning but I bet it'll kick in full force for us later on.

Emileelogan · 17/08/2015 10:33

Hi carrotvan it's weird I just don't feel pregnant at the minute it's weird lol... Mw appointment next Tues so fx everything is ok

SaltySeaBird · 17/08/2015 10:43

Della I wouldn't worry, back when I was first pregnant I had a really good friend due almost on the same day that had absolutely no symptoms at all - no boob soreness and not a hint of nausea and she had a fantastic pregnancy. At the same time I was crippled with tiredness and nausea and miscarried at 8 weeks. It's different for everyone. Quite a few people I know had none at all.

This is my fourth pregnancy and I've been sick every time from about 5 weeks but also, two of those ended in miscarriage (both at 8 weeks) so for me sickness isn't a sign of anything good or otherwise.

I'm still upset by my non-booking in, I thought she was quite cold towards me and it was my consultant who asked me to get it done early as he is writing on bits of paper (I've seen him three times now, fourth time this week after my scan). Still counting down to the scan on Thursday and just hoping that everything is okay this time.

Newbiehome · 17/08/2015 10:46

Hi everyone, by my not certain calculations (v irregular period before conceiving) I am 7+1 today. Have my booking in app on weds morn and booked a private scan for fri morn. Am hoping they will give me the reassurance I need... Barely got any symptoms at the moans just dont feel pregnant!! Felt more pregnant 2 weeks ago! Really hope all is ok. Hope those feeling sucky manage to drag themselves through the day ok!!

Newbiehome · 17/08/2015 10:47

*moment! Not moans!

louwn · 17/08/2015 10:49

Della mine has massively eased off (still exhausted though!) over the past couple of days. Still slightly there but definitely not bad anymore. Cannot help but worry about this but know I probably shouldn't and just be grateful I feel a bit better. Pregnancy is so worrying whatever happens isn't it!!

Dellabob123 · 17/08/2015 11:43

Thanks ladies, that's all reassuring news. You're right louwn, whatever the symptoms, or lack of, no getting away from the worry.

On the interesting side, I just chowed down a big fat sausage and egg sarnie with brown sauce...was that a craving or am I just being porky Smile

spottedquoll · 17/08/2015 12:22

Got an early scan on Thursday now after some spotting yesterday (& this morning) and crying on the receptionist at the GP! Saw a lovely doc who was very sympathetic. Just have to wait three days... Am 6 weeks now, don't feel sick anymore (after d&v) but very tired and emotional!

dizzylemon · 17/08/2015 13:44

Jumping on board a bit late as I found out two weeks ago: the morning of a Fertility Clinic appointment no less. Damn Irony.

Stats:

DC #1, Due 7th April if the calculator is right. I've not seen a doctor yet because apparantly it takes 2 weeks for a routine GP appointment at my current surgery. Am considering changing surgerys though Hmm

And I was feeling wonderful...until week 6. Now I am feeling horrid. Hope it peters out!

Sophia1984 · 17/08/2015 14:35

SaltySeaBird I just started a thread for runners inspired by the very-same-experience! I did about 12k yesterday (with some walking bits) and was wearing a normal bra with sports bra on top - somehow seem to have bruised by breast bone - ow!

woundbobbin I hope it helps! I did a version with milk instead of water as I need to get my dairy products in and I hate milk on its own!

Has anyone else got one breast growing faster than the other!? ShockI've always been a little bit lopsided but this is ridiculous - think it'll give me away before I tell anyone unless I wear loose t-shirts everywhere.. [embarrassed]
