Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Good luck with you appointment today dizzy

And great news about your HCG fatima, must be such a huge relief.

I am officially 6 weeks today, have my reassurance scan tomorrow at the EPU, trying to stay zen but am so jittery and nervous Confused not sure if they will just scan me or if they'll want to do bloods too - I guess I'll find out tomorrow!

Mummyofonesofar · 13/08/2015 10:43

So DizzyM who are you seeing today for your appointment?

Hope you had a nice holiday LaPampa

DizzyMerry · 13/08/2015 10:46

The community mw at my GP Surgery mummy. We have some appointments at the antenatal clinic at the hospital and some at the GP Surgery. I have a feeling this is just the first contact and booking in will be at antenatal.

Hope you enjoyed your holiday lapampa.

Good luck with your scan tomorrow glittery.

Dellabob123 · 13/08/2015 10:48

great news fatima so relieved for you
MsGlitterJunkie we have the same eDD Smile although, thats the docs prediction, I know we conceived on the 15th, so I'm really officially 4 weeks today!

I'm thinking of telling my boss next week event though it feels ridiculously early, just because of all the sociall stuff coming up, plus i seem to have double in weight over night, and my boobs, which is starting to look a bit odd.....should i?

TriJo · 13/08/2015 10:49

North London high-five LaPampa, Archway here :)

FussyHendricks · 13/08/2015 10:57

I used to live in Archway TriJo!** Wink

LaPampa · 13/08/2015 11:02

TriJo - Crouch End here so just down the road!

TriJo · 13/08/2015 11:02

Small world :)

spottedquoll · 13/08/2015 11:05

Laid low with d&v here - thought it was rapid onset of MS last night but when it started at the other end too I couldn't decide whether to be pleased or miserable that it's a bug. DH is about 7 hours behind me, hoping DD will escape. Just trying to stay hydrated and not move! Confused

Mummyofonesofar · 13/08/2015 11:05

Oh right I see DizzyM if it is with a midwife I would have thought it was for booking in but no idea! Good luck either way Grin

Della You have to add 2 weeks to your conception date so you were 6 weeks yesterday. Pregnancy is counted as 38 weeks of being pregnant plus 2 weeks prior to conception to total 40 weeks. I conceived on 16th so I am 6 weeks today. My boss knows, if you have a good relationship and you are sure there would be no issues then tell them.

Dellabob123 · 13/08/2015 11:29

thanks Mummyofonesofar I never really understand that?? Right, the six weeks it is Smile

I've decided to tell my boss next week then when he's next in the office. I have a good relationship with him, so it will be fine.

Forders · 13/08/2015 11:31

Great news Fatima, and good luck glitter and dizzy.

Spent yesterday feeling dreadful and not wanting any food other than junk (I had After Eights for breakfast Confused) but feeling a bit better today. Trouble is, I'm now worried my symptoms are decreasing - I can't win! Wonder why they fluctuate so much. I'm on a train surreptitiously prodding my boobs to make sure they're still sore. Ridiculous!

I hope you're wrong about London smelling bad LaPampa, I'm on my way there now! I've definitely noticed my sense of smell getting stronger, which is lovely when changing DS's nappy...

Newbiehome · 13/08/2015 12:01

This might be a silly question but how are you telling your boss? Mine is lovely (albeit a 50 year old man with his own family) and I work in an open plan office. I know he will be nice about it but he is a bit old school and awkward and me going on maternity leave will be mighty inconvenient for the dept! Should I tell HR first then email my boss asking for a short meeting? I just can't tell him in the open plan office with everyone listening! Don't know why I'm stressing about this so much!!think I'm going to wait till after my 12 week scan but just want to plan how I'm going to do it!!

Mummyofonesofar · 13/08/2015 12:02

Della just go by LMP for all medical purposes, the date will change at the scan anyway. I am 6 weeks today by ov date so due 7/4, but at the midwives I am 6+3 by LMP so due 4/4. I will go by the medical date for all check ups and scans but keeping my ov date in mind incase I go overdue and will refuse induction until 15 days past my ov due date of 7th April. Hope that makes sense!

Mummyofonesofar · 13/08/2015 12:09

Newbie this time I just sent my female boss an email saying I was pregnant, how many weeks I was and that I needed time for appointments starting on 24th Aug. I don’t think our HR team would be any good as they are external. They can give advice but it isn’t them you need to inform really. However last time before I mc in May I emailed my boss asking if I could grab a quick chat privately and broke the conversation by saying I am looking to take maternity leave towards the end of the year. She was over the moon for me and gave me a big cuddle which was nice, but I am more nervous this time.

Want2bSupermum · 13/08/2015 12:54

spotted hope you are feeling better. I had some sort of virus when I was pregnant with DS. The obn told DH to get ice lollys for me. The cheaper the better and no fake sugar. It really helped and stopped the vomiting at least.

watermaid · 13/08/2015 14:01

Hello all :) I hope I can join in! I found out I was pg yesterday with baby #3 and am equally delighted and spun out! DS1 is 5 and was a surprise; DS2 is 2 and was hard won (three mcs and a lot of trying) and this one has just popped along without any trying (as it were) :) So am getting my head around it and so happy. Symptoms are plentiful though minimal nausea or hunger atm (hungry but off everything at the same time!)...

EDD is about 26 April... Oh, and am 36.

So, hello!

Oh, and I lived in Archway once upon a time too!

watermaid · 13/08/2015 14:03

Arf I went for a pizza hut buffet for lunch and have terrible indigestion! And so it begins... ;)

DizzyMerry · 13/08/2015 15:09

Congrats and welcome water.

I'm back from my appointment. As Ithought it was the first contact appointment. The midwife went through some basis details and she handed me my maternity notes and some leaflets on early pregnancy, eating healthy, screening tests and where to give birth. She also did my bp. She dated me from LMP so according to that I'm 6+4 today with EDD of 3rd April. I will get my booking in appointment and scan dates through the post and she said these will be between 11 and 13 weeks. I will see the community midwife again at 16 weeks.

Mummyofonesofar · 13/08/2015 15:44

water welcome and congratulations - I am also suffering with indegestion. And have decided gaviscon is gross - who wants a chewable tablet that sticks around your teeth so you feel like a dog with rabies! Hmm

DizzyM glad it went well - a long wait til your booking in appt now though!

DizzyMerry · 13/08/2015 15:53

I'm nice and relaxed now mummy and I'm sure the time will fly by now!

Thankfully I haven't had any indigestion yet but do have the bloat! With DD I had acid reflux in the last month. It was horrendous and I'm not looking forward to that again!

ComeLuckyApril · 13/08/2015 16:07

Had my first midwife appointment today at the GP! (They do it from 5 weeks where I am). It was good, everything feels more real now. Lots of form-filling, blood taken, urine tested etc, and I got my Maternity Notes. I've got a few referrals for extra stuff wrong with me, but she was quite relaxed about my BMI (30.8). I got dated by LMP rather than ovulation so she says 12th April, but I guess it will be finally decided at the dating scan. And I should hear within a couple of weeks when the first scan will be.

I also went to aqua aerobics, and I won't be doing that again for a while! I'm so exhausted and sick at the moment. When I do go back, I'll have to figure out what to do to hold down my breasts more - I'm quite large there and I have a bra-style bikini top, but with them being so sore right now I still felt every jump.

pocopearl · 13/08/2015 18:36

Luckyapril where are you from to get seen so early?! So jealous! Glad you are feeling like it is more real now!
Congrats and welcome water

I am have sicky feelings already in the mornings and afternoons (same as with DS1, so have put plenty of tissues and holeless bags in the cars ready. This is something we failed to do last time even though i had hg and was sick from 6 weeks to pretty much the end of my pg.

ashboo76 · 14/08/2015 07:54

5 weeks today yey! Grin

FussyHendricks · 14/08/2015 08:48

Good luck today MsGlitter at your scan. Let us know how you get on!
