Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Has sickness kicked in for people? I'm 5 weeks, when it's supposed to kick in? I'm off away next weekend, probably then!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 16:59

Oh and I'm sorry if these are naive questions as its my first!

Forders · 11/08/2015 17:00

You might be lucky mascara and not get any. Mine started on Thursday at 3+3 but isn't too bad (and certainly hasn't prevented me from just devouring a scone...) I find the bloating worse (definitely not helped by the aforementioned scone). Just caught site of myself in a car window while walking the dog and I could easily pass for five months gone. I swore I wouldn't put a as much weight on as last time but it looks like that's out of the window.

ashboo76 · 11/08/2015 17:06

I'm not sick at all yet mascara I'm 4+4 just achey back and sore boobs not even starving not even overly tired but we have just got back from holidays.

My next problem ...awful calling it problem really as I'm feeling very lucky to be pregnant .... Is my BFF is having a birthday party/housewarming sat night EVERYONE is blooming going and I have to find a lie not to drink and I'm usually the last to leave so scared they'll,all Suss straight away it's too early to tell them and having had an mc in march I really don't want to just yet Sad

woundbobbin · 11/08/2015 17:15

This is my third day of hard core nausea and vomiting and I'm 6+1. It's torture so difficult to keep anything down even folic acid (guilt guilt) today is my day off so that's been easier but it's so hard with work also feeling sorry for dd as I'm no longer able to bounce which is her favourite activity.

Sorry that's really moany. If last time is anything to go by I'll be fine (& a stone lighter) by 13 weeks and the last two trimesters easy by comparison.

I've got the pregnancy + app it's about to run out of being free not sure if I can be arsed to pay. Are there any good free ones??

DizzyMerry · 11/08/2015 17:19

I use the ovia pregnancy app and like it. Downloaded a few but went with ovia.

No sickness here just waves of nausea and boobs are getting a little sore. Also I can eat anything in sight!

CarrotVan · 11/08/2015 17:25

wound try taking the folic just before bed. Then you don't have to move much until it's absorbed

mascara I've not had many symptoms at all yet - my breasts are a bit twingy, I'm a bit crampy, I bloated horribly late last week but seem better this week. I am constantly thirsty and constantly peeing (except at night - I never had to get up much in the night last time either).

ashboo try tonic water with bitters or lime - looks like g&t but isn't. Just don't let anyone make you a drink. Or can you be driving/ have an early start the next day?

forders I put on 3.5 stone last time. The SPD meant I couldn't be that active and DS was 9lb. I really don't want to put on as much this time. I've got some SPD friendly yoga stuff which I hope will help.

CousinChloe · 11/08/2015 17:31

Very little nausea and not sick at all last time for me. Currently just 4 weeks, so too early to tell if I'll escape again. Sore back, but that's it. So hard to believe it's real now!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 17:33

Another silly question, when you all say date+ what do you mean? If I'm supposedly 5weeks and 2days what would that make me? I am convinced I'm not that far along but I know they calculate from AF, still seems much further along than I thought! I've got the ovia app which I really like too. It sounds like the pregnancy+ one and you can take bumpy selfies and track appoinments/symptoms etc. I also have the Babycentre app which is a good little daily update.

Forders I know how you feel with the weight thing, I'm so bloated and look like I've got a bump under my floaty dress, Im seriously worried about getting into some of my clothes.

Ashboo that's my biggest 'issue' too. I say wash a bottle of wine out, fill it with non-alcoholic wine and only drink that bottle! Depends what you usually have...

tessandjude · 11/08/2015 17:52

Thanks Dizzy, you've put my mind at rest x

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 18:13

My CB test said 1-2 weeks this morning, isn't this a bit out im 5 week, 2 days? I know it's conception date but I thought it would say 2-3... Trying to stay chilled

spottedquoll · 11/08/2015 18:13

Just checked the spreadsheet on my laptop rather than phone. It's ace! :)

CarrotVan · 11/08/2015 18:33

mascara check the info leaflet in the CB packet but I think you add on 2 weeks to whatever it says. I am 4+2 which means it's 4 weeks and 2 days since my last period started. On a CB I'd expect it to say 1-2 weeks

Definitelysometime · 11/08/2015 18:37

5 weeks today and I had to undo my trousers under my desk at work Blush

I don't remember the bloating being so bad last time. It's also quite painful and windy. Anyone else?

So sorry you're feeling so awful bobbin, I really don't know how you cope with all the vomming and a toddler. That's hardcore.

Ashboo I definitely agree it's easier to just pretend to drink than make excuses for why you're not. Good to have a wingman with you (DH?) who can fetch your drinks - mixers, skipping the spirits. I got through a party on sat night doing this and don't think anyone noticed. I then did a disappearing act about midnight without saying goodbye to anyone as I couldn't face the challenges Blush. But to be honest, everyone was so plastered by then, I doubt they noticed!

Sophia1984 · 11/08/2015 18:52

I've been feeling nauseous since about 4+5 but not actually being sick. mainly sore boobs. They are so sore! Went running last night and wanted to hold onto them to stop them bouncing!

I had my first little nearly-cry today because I bought something and then realised I could have got it elsewhere a tenner cheaper! Managed not to cry, and also to get a refund, so all's well that ends well! It's funny - I'm normally quite an overemotional and anxious person but am feeling very calm and grounded since I got my BFP.

FussyHendricks · 11/08/2015 19:02

Mummy I don't think I got that message so I must have already paid for it when I was pg last time. Blush

Sickness kicked in for me about a week ago. I've had waves of nausea all blooming day and had a couple of moments where I though I might puke on the street as I walked to the tube. Classy!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 19:12

Thanks carrot, it's still a week out though. Maybe I ovulated later... I'll test again next week with a CB and see what it says. I think I'm more like 4 weeks than 5...

CarrotVan · 11/08/2015 19:32

They'll adjust your dates at the scan anyway

Babytinx11 · 11/08/2015 19:36

Hi all can I join got my bfp Saturday due April 7th

suffolkblonde · 11/08/2015 19:37

Glad I'm not the only one feeling bloated. I can hardly do up my jeans! Especially gutting as it was only six weeks ago that I was walking down the aisle looking the skinniest I had ever been.

Also feeling really tired at work, which is extra difficult when trying to avoid caffeine.

Oh well - very grateful to be pregnant, even though it does feel a bit surreal! Can't wait for it to be out in the open.

pocopearl · 11/08/2015 20:03

carrotvan my DS will be 3 next july so he is a little younger! So exciting to have an edd buddy too!

I am so paranoid with this pg as lots of mc so knicker checking, and poas everytime i pee to make sure the line is not getting lighter.

I am feeling a little nauseous which I am hoping is just one of those things rather than a sign of things to come as my last pg i was sick pretty much every day from week 5 to week 34. Still not ready to enjoy this but am looking forward to feeling happier with this pg once i get passed the point of my mc's.

FatimaLovesBread · 11/08/2015 21:02

Evening all. I've been off work the last two days as I woke up to bleeding yesterday. Had to go to my IVF clinic for a hcg blood test and going again tomorrow. They've also brought my scan forward to next monday. Haven't had any bleeding since but had some brown when I wipe today.
Feeling crampy when I'm up and about. And still no real nausea or boob ache like I had last time.
My hcg was 6244 so fingers crossed it's higher tomorrow

FussyHendricks · 11/08/2015 21:09

Thanks Fatima. FX** for good news tomorrow. Stay positive!

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 21:10

Fatima sorry you've had that worry. Fx the levels are increasing for you.

I have indigestion now, adding a symptom to the list. Plus general crap feeling after lunch all afternoon until I got home.

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 21:13

Also I've paid for the pregnancy +. Only £2.99. Seems ok plus it has a contraction counter which should be handy!
