Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Having read through the whole thread...

Waxweasel I also had bad SPD from about 16 weeks and saw a lovely NHS physio who stopped me ending up on crutches. It was a close thing. The lack of decent painkillers in pregnancy is not good

Issie I had a difficult birth ending in EMCS so am hoping to go for an ELCS this time to exorcise some ghosts. I hope it is straightforward

Poco - shared due date! And our DCs are the same age...My DS will turn three just after I'm due with DC2

Robot definitely see the doctor about Anaemia. And it's well worth taking extra Vit D and Calcium during pregnancy

Hi all, got my BFP yesterday - due 10th April (going from last AF) so 5 weeks, 2 days. I'm being very cautious! I'm not telling anyone just yet (DH know)! Very light brown spotting for two days now, been to the GP and they say its normal but of it gets any heavier they'll refer to EPU. Been trying for 7 months so we are smiling inside.

Is anyone else starving?!! I didn't move all day yesterday I was so tired. No symptoms as such now apart from them.

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 11:42

mascara I am very hungry, but couldn't face breakfast this morning so had a nectarine, 2 satsumas, an apple and a piece of cake. Starving for my lunch!!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 11:48

mummy loving the fact you had cake! No nausea here yet, I just feel whacked! DH keeps moaning that I've not done any house work for two days. I found it an effort to put the washing in yesterday. And stats 28, TTC #1!

DizzyMerry · 11/08/2015 11:48

I have a raging appetite mascara I've had porridge with chopped strawberries for breakfast followed by two pieces of toast with butter and marmalade. Not too bad only I got up at 10 as DH got up with DD. I now can't wait until lunch!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 11:54

Haha I thought it was all in the mind and I was just being a bit greedy!

Forders · 11/08/2015 11:54

Welcome and congratulations to everyone who's just joined!

DS is fine. As you said mummyofonesofar, the doc thinks the rash is just caused by a virus or some sort of infection. He's got antibiotics and has just eaten a proper lunch for the first time in ages, so he must be starting to feel better. Big relief. Thanks for all your concern Smile

spottedquoll · 11/08/2015 12:00

I'm so hungry! Bowl of branflakes, banana, satsuma, bag of mini cheddars and some custard creams so far and I can still hear my tummy rumbling. Makes a nice change from last time when I was sick and nibbling crackers for seven weeks. Hoping it is a good sign! I do feel a bit off if I don't eat so I'm using it as an excuse to devour everything in sight. Grin Five weeks today.

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 12:03

I just dread to think how big I'll be! I was a size 8/10 before TTC, put on nearly a stone coming off the pill and I'm a snug size 12 at present Confused oops! forders glad to hear DS is on the mend!

ComeLuckyApril · 11/08/2015 12:10

Anyone started reading books yet? I've read Expecting Better by Emily Oster. It's all about the science behind guidelines about what you can eat and so on, which was really enlightening and is allowing me to make more informed decisions and worry less. I also just started reading Bumpology by Linda Geddes which is packed with really interesting sciencey facts too.

I've been trying to find a good app as well to know what's going on, but I don't like any I've tried so far and I think I'll never see the end of the What To Expect emails spamming me.

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 12:18

Ah I'd like a book if anyone has any recommendations? Ill try those out comelucky. I think only finding out yesterday I'm cautious not to allow myself to get excited yet though...

I'm also being spammed...

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 12:38

I have about 7 emails evey Monday telling me how many weeks I am.

App wise I quite like Glow Nurture.

spottedquoll · 11/08/2015 13:10

I think I've spent most of the week unsubscribing from what to expect emails! Defo need a better app. Grin

FussyHendricks · 11/08/2015 15:02

I'm loving the pregnancy+ app. You can keep track of appointments, weight etc and it also has all the usual week by week info

MsGlitterJunkie · 11/08/2015 15:06

Nice to see you here carrot!

mummy I've got glow nurture too! And natural cycles and clue......I think I've gone a bit overboard with the apps!

I haven't bought any books yet although my GP did give me a book called how to have a healthy pregnancy book when I saw her last week.....I've read it cover to cover already.

I was already half a stone heavier than usual before I conceived so am determined to maintain for as long as possible......all the bloating and uncontrollable appetite aren't helping though!

ComeLuckyApril · 11/08/2015 15:07

I'm laughing like crazy to learn it's not just me. I went into the 'manage your newsletter' thing today and hopefully turned them all off, but I'm half expecting it will result in some new spamming assault.

I will check out those apps!

Newbiehome · 11/08/2015 15:15

If you like books based on scientific info try Debunking the Bump - written by a management consultant. V sciencey but fascinating uncovering the truth behind all the pregnancy does and don't's!

TriJo · 11/08/2015 15:18

I'm a massive nerd so that sounds like a good one Newbiehome!

Made my first official clothing concession to this pregnancy so far last night and ordered a sports bra in the same model but 2 sizes larger than what I was wearing before. I'm up one and a half cup sizes already...

ComeLuckyApril · 11/08/2015 15:19

That looks perfect for me NewbieHome :)

spottedquoll · 11/08/2015 15:30

I can see that I'll have to download some more apps at home tonight. Smile

I just made a cup of tea that I've been looking forward to all afternoon, and it just tastes wrong. Confused This happened in the first trimester with DD too. I'm normally a chain tea drinker, and I'd cut down to limit caffeine but to not even have it taste nice is miserable.

MsGlitterJunkie · 11/08/2015 15:42

My taste buds are totally off too at the moment, cannot bear the taste of diet coke and I don't like tea or coffee so am drinking nothing but water, sooooooo boring it's unreal!

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 15:54

Fussy I also have pregnancy+ but have just been told I have 7 days left of free usage – do we have to pay?!

Tri I am up 2 cup sizes too already, ridiculous!

glitter I can’t get enough of really cold water out of the work chiller – drinking it by the gallonfull.

I feel like it must do to go through the change – keep getting hot flushes, in a meeting before and all I wanted to do was jump out the window into a pool of water!

mascaraisamust · 11/08/2015 16:02

mummy I keep getting hot flushes too! Getting a random sweat on!

Mummyofonesofar · 11/08/2015 16:07

I thought I was going to pass out! It was awful, my manager kept mouthing "are you ok?" "not much longer now" "nearly there" to keep me from walking out!

meganlilly89 · 11/08/2015 16:08

I am so bloated today it's unreal. I am out for a meal with Friends tonight and I'm still feeling sick and just want to curl up in bed. Hmm
