Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

There are often groupon vouchers so keep your eye out!

Dexlie0806 · 06/08/2015 13:22

Oh really. I will do thanks for that mummy Grin

Athousandtrees · 06/08/2015 14:33

Welcome Kiwi congratulations! I assume your in New Zealand by your username?

Dellabob123 · 06/08/2015 16:51

Hi, I posted last week to say I'm due on 7th April and just checking in on everyone. I've no nausea yet but struggling with appetite. Just getting feelings of fullness and not wanting to eat. Weird. Although it's not stopped me from eating brownies!

I'm off for a few days and just had my first afternoon nod, not sure whether symptoms or me just being lazy Smile

louwn · 06/08/2015 18:51

Felt a low level nausea all day today which is relieved slightly by eating. My DM was convinced I wouldn't get morning sickness as she didn't ..how I wish that were true!

TriJo · 06/08/2015 19:21

Very similar here the last couple of days louwn. My mum had godawful morning sickness with all three of her pregnancies, so let's hope that it doesn't run in the family!

Issie339 · 06/08/2015 19:43

Hi everyone, still no sickness here and actually have loads of energy at the moment, hope that's not a bad sign.

I heard I got my preferred hospital today- Yey! So relieved. Booking in 9th Sept, scan end Sept. Exciting times!!

Yeah no sickness here either. In fact no symptoms at all really. With last 2 pregnancies I got really bad sickness (especially ds1 was off work 7 weeks) but with both it didn't kick in till around 7 weeks so there's still time. I know i will find it hard this time round if I do get it with having to looks after the kids as well. We will just have to wait and see. Gonna look to book my early scan tonight also Grin

suffolkblonde29 · 06/08/2015 20:13

Hi all,

I'm just 5 weeks pregnant so probably due around 7th April if all goes well. This is my first pregnancy and I'm not sure what to do about telling people. I'd feel bad keeping it a secret from my mum and sister until after the 12 week scan, but if I tell them and then my dad (who's separated from mum) and MIL find out later will they feel left out? I'm torn between wanting people to know so they can support me along the way but not wanting to get people excited in case something goes wrong...

Also does anyone have any tips for excuses to make if you're out for drinks/meals and known for your love of prosecco?!

NotALemon · 06/08/2015 20:36

Hello everyone! Recently found out I'm pregnant with #2, due 3rd April. This thread has been so reassuring, I had a mc in May so am feeling pretty nervous, but it's good to know I'm not alone in checking my undies all the time and searching for symptoms! Will be having a scan at 7 weeks so just counting down the days to hopefully get some good news!x

louwn · 06/08/2015 21:41

TriJo, fingers crossed eh! Its eased off after I've had my dinner. Here's hoping for tomorrow!!

Expectantrobot · 06/08/2015 22:14

suffolkblonde I know what you mean - I'm telling a few close friends who I would want support of if needed, but not telling SIL until 12 weeks. One of friends said this evening 'when you do tell SIL don't let on that other people knew before her' so now I am having to not only tell people to keep it a secret, but also to keep it a secret there was ever a secret...

Anyway, hopefully 12 weeks rolls around quickly and peacefully. My tiredness and nausea (complete with a lot of dry retching) have been really bad the last couple of days so decided to start easing myself into a bit of gentle exercise as heard it can help. Went for a jog this evening and felt good so have signed myself up for a cardio class for pregnant women at my gym on Sat am but now I am getting all worried it will be full of obviously pregnant women with their bumps and I will feel a bit of a fraud going along at 6 weeks. What do people think? Is it weird to go to an obviously pregnant person's class when you're not obviously pregnant?

Autumnsweater · 06/08/2015 22:29

Suffolk blonde - I had to take metronidazole for a tooth infection last year, and not only can you not drink on it, it can also cause nausea! So thats my excuse! I'm going on holiday with friends next week so I hope it works don't want anyone to know before my mum and want to tell her in person when I get back.

Mummyofonesofar · 07/08/2015 06:51

robot I think you're fine to go to s pregnancy class on the early days. Better than going to a normal class and putting bean at risk with overheating.

Londonlady2015 · 07/08/2015 07:55

Ugh nauseous this morning, more than ever so far. Am 6+1.

Not quite sure how I'm going to get through my 9am 1 hour meeting

meganlilly89 · 07/08/2015 09:23

5+5 and morning sickness has hit me! Had to give breakfast a miss..

On holiday at the moment but luckily it's our last day so hasn't ruined it for me. (And I've also been able to enjoy quite a few afternoon naps.. Work next week won't be fun lol)

MsGlitterJunkie · 07/08/2015 11:05

Hello ladies. Sorry for those of you suffering morning sickness, I'm only 5 + 1 so am managing to escape it, for now!

Went to see my GP to get referred to the midwife and for an early scan, will find out the date later today. Also got given a whole lot of reading material, forms etc. which makes it all feel more real if that makes sense?

Has anyone else heard that you should avoid get your legs waxed and having a pedicures in early pregnancy? I read it somewhere and now I'm worried as I'm booked in for both over the weekend!

Newbiehome · 07/08/2015 11:18

Oh dear... Think the pregnancy hormones are getting to me. Have a work colleague leaving today and she sent me a nice message along the lines of "good luck with your career and family" and I burst into tears at my desk. WTF?!

I have booked a private scan for 2 weeks time. According to my LMP I am 6+5 but I had quite long and irregular cycles (42 days month before conceiving) so reckon I'm only 5+5 but because I'm guessing it would be good to know for sure soon!

Oh goodness I do hope you can still have beauty treatments!! I was relying on them to make me feel more human! #startsfranticallygoogling

Mummyofonesofar · 07/08/2015 13:03

That made me chuckle Newbie.

Ok so 5+1 today and though I wouldn't say nauseous, I am feeling somewhat unsure of myself in the tummy. If that makes sense, though it may be wind as it is gurgling away in there!

ComeLuckyApril · 07/08/2015 13:17

Finally got the hang of the nausea: a high protein breakfast as early as possible, then eating every hour (a few almonds works especially well for me), and naps/resting whenever feasible. Seems to be cutting down the worst of it.

Sophia1984 · 07/08/2015 13:30

Hi everyone!
It says a lot about me that I'm on here 5 hours after getting my BFP. I only came off the pill a few months ago and my last cycle was the first one I tracked and that we were actively TTC so it's all a bit overwhelming! I'm 31 and this is me and partner's first pregnancy. I'm apparently 4 weeks today but have doc's appointment on Monday. Nice to meet you all :-)

Dexlie0806 · 07/08/2015 16:28

Congratulations and welcome to all the newbies Grin

So sorry to hear a few of u have the sickness already. On a positive it's a great sign that the pregnancy is progressing happily and healthily though Smile

Booked my early scan last night for 20th aug. I should be around 7+1.

Like a few of u I still have not one pregnancy symptom and again started worrying about it. So I took another cheap test today and the line is so so strong. It's made me feel much better and I'm gonna try to stop worrying, if that's possible. Also thinking of telling my mam and sister now too.

With both my previous mc i only ever got very faint lines and a 1-2 weeks pregnancy on the digital. This time I have very strong lines and last Saturday I had 2-3 weeks on a digital when I was prob only 4+2.

Gp has took a sample to confirm my pregnancy then I'm booked in with the mw for 18th. I known I have done it twice before but this time it really doesn't feel real. It's took a while this time round and I really started to think it would t happen. Can't believe it has. When can we start to get really excited about it haha? Grin

Sophia1984 · 07/08/2015 17:41

Oh and I am apparently due on the 10th April :-)

Definitelysometime · 07/08/2015 18:32

I'm 4+3 and already starting to feel pretty nauseous, especially in the evenings. Is that even possible, or is it all in my head?!

Welcome to all the newbies. Look forward to getting to know you all over the next few months. I'm still in touch with my April 14 group and they have been such a amazing support the whole way through Smile

Do we have a stats post yet?

Mine just in case: DefinitelySometime, 32, 2nd baby (DD), due 12th April

kiwikaterpillar · 07/08/2015 21:05

Congratulations to the new joiners. So I too am a closet knicker checker. Can't wait until I feel more relaxed about that. Don't feel quite so crazy knowing that others are doing it too though.Wink
Spent last night at A&E as DD, who is 2, managed to give herself a massive bump on her head and they were worried about concussion. Back home now with a grumpy toddler and all I want to do is sleep!
Feeling a bit sick on and off but think that not eating regularly isn't helping with that.
Got to find myself a midwife now, in NZ you have one midwife who is your primary carer throughout (unless you needs consultant care) and all the popular ones get booked up very quickly- as in by 6 weeks they have filled that months slots. We have moved since I had DD so can't use the same one we had with her.
Anyone else having really strange dreams?
