Hi! Anyone else around yet who's expecting in April 2016? I've searched Mumsnet but can't find a thread- apologies if I've missed it. Just got my BFP today due date would be 2nd April (so the NHS website tells me). Would be great to have company on this journey!!

Hi everyone. Am I ok to join. Got my bfp on Friday and have been following the thread since then but scared to jump on as I have had 2 mc on this journey ttc. I am 5 weeks today so due 6th April. This is our 3rd. We already have 2ds. So far only my dh and a close friend knows. Don't want to tell family especially my sister because she also was so upset when I mc before.

yeah I was hoping to get an early scan too at around 7-8 weeks just to put our mind at rest then I will start to tell family. may start looking for where do the scans locally.

Mw appt 18th aug so I will be nearly 7 weeks. I think I just want the next few weeks over to start enjoying it. And yes I'm checking every 2 mins that in not bleeding too.

Congratulations to u all and Good luck. Looking forward to hearing all the advice experiences Grin

issie I'm not sure what the score is, I really want a CS this time round. I know its not an easy option but I've tried the natural way and it just didn't work. My waters broke on the Saturday night, then nothing happened. Was induced on Monday and eventually had ds on Wednesday morning. Unfortunately it was a forceps delivery and both ds and I had to stay in hospital for a week. I do not want a repeat of this. It was horrible and really scary.

Your poor DD too.

I'm going to ask for a CS as soon as I meet the consultant and hope for the best. I'll let you know then. The MW had said that there are counselling sessions were they look over your previous notes with a senior MW etc.

definitely the max consumption is 200mg a day, and a breakdown of what amount is in what food is in the Emma's Diary. I didn't realise chocolate had do much Sad

MsGlitterJunkie · 05/08/2015 14:32

Hello everyone! Welcome to all the newbies, such exciting times!

Glad your MW appointment went well trees.

There's no way I could keep my mouth shut until 10.5 weeks wirral! I've told my mum, one close friend and three of my close work colleagues as they've all supported me during my previous MCs and I know they will help me in the nervous early days and weeks. Trying not to tell anyone else for a while though!

I've been having some lower back and hip pain but nothing major, boobs are bigger and sore though and am managing to escape morning sickness at the moment which I'm pleased about!

Issie339 · 05/08/2015 17:13

Oh trees I'm sorry you had a horrible experience, sounds similar to mine (45 hours of labour, failed forceps- 7 attempts, failed ventouse- 2 attempts, followed by very emergency CS). Poor DD was so bashed up she was in NICU being fed through a tube for a week and I didn't even see her for 12 hours after she was born. We are the luckiest people in the world that there is no lasting damage and she is absolutely fine now. Like you I'm going to ask for a CS this time and stick to my guns (though I'm nervous about it!) I'm really hoping I'm not going to have to fight to get it. Feeling quite anxious about it all though.

Congratulations to all the newbies! Is anyone else feeling really anxious? I'm almost 6 weeks and every little twinge makes me worry (I think half of them are wind!!) and I am constantly knicker checking. I know I need to relax and get a grip but I can't help being so panicky - anyone successfully conquered this and got any tips?

Dexlie0806 · 05/08/2015 18:40

Sorry to hear some of u had a bad time in labour. Not nice at all. I can only imagine how scary it would be.

I'm no expert izzy but I really don't think u will have any problem getting an elected cs. 2 of my close friends had very traumatic first births (not as bad as yours however) and both asked for a cs and were given them with very little problems. I'm sure u will be the same.

I was very lucky to have 2 straight forward, lovely births. So more of that this time round please Grin

Dexlie0806 · 05/08/2015 18:41

"Issie" I meant sorry Smile

Dexlie0806 · 05/08/2015 18:46

Louwn yes I am exactly this same. After 2 mc I am so so worried. I'm 34 now and tbh if this pregnancy fails I really don't think I can go through it again both physically and mentally. Ttc this time round hasn't been easy either so think I would have to call it a day. I already have 2 ds so I know I'm very lucky. I just want this more than anything to complete our little family. Smile

Londonlady2015 · 05/08/2015 19:07

louwn I keep knicker checking too! People must think I have a bladder problem with how often I'm going to the loo lol.

I feel v tired and achy tonight. Slightly nauseous but dinner has fixed that!

Got my 12 week scan letter through but no mention of a booking or midwife appt. is this normal? I feel a bit weird not having any correspondence until the 12 week mark. I know this is rather negative but I know too many who have had their scan only to find no heartbeat or growth Sad

Issie339 · 05/08/2015 19:32

Thanks dexlie here's hoping, I really want a lovely straight-forward experience this time. It's so nice to hear you've had 2 lovely birth experiences Smile I'm sure your third will be just as good.

louwn and dexlie I'm very nervous with this pregnancy too, lots of knicker checking etc going on. I think it's all quite normal...at least I hope so!!

Issie339 · 05/08/2015 19:35

londonlady I don't think its normal to not having a booking-in appointment before your 12wk scan, unless your local hospital does it all at the same time. I'd definitely query it if it's not clear on the letter.

waxweasel · 05/08/2015 20:08

My gp said that our local hospital is totally swamped atm so the booking appointment might come after the scan as they're so overloaded. But that's not normal.

I am really fretting about mc too Sad have never experienced it before so no reason to particularly think it will happen, but I'm just so worried. I have a scan booked for 7+2 so am counting down the days to that and (hopefully!) getting some reassurance.

Londonlady2015 · 05/08/2015 20:37

Thank you issie and weasal my main concern is that from week 8 until 10.5 I'm out of the country too. Talk about timing! I might message my gp and see what they can offer.

Dexlie0806 · 05/08/2015 20:42

Wax I'm definitely thinking about an early scan this time round. I really don't think I could go another 7 more weeks till my 12 week scan. I need the reassurance this time too.

waxweasel · 05/08/2015 20:50

The one I have booked is £100, so not too bad. I've heard others saying they got them cheaper too

Dexlie0806 · 05/08/2015 20:53

Wax I'm definitely thinking about an early scan this time round. I really don't think I could go another 7 more weeks till my 12 week scan. I need the reassurance this time too.

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 21:04

Another knicker checker here! I've got no symptoms and I'm really anxious about it so with every little niggle in my hip and uterus area I run to the loo.

I need to talk my DH round to have an early scan as he doesn't think it'll make a difference if we wait until 12 weeks like we did with DD. I'm not sure either to be honest as I think I'd still be anxious up until I've had the 12 week scan. Completely understand why others would want an early scan though but I'm just trying to weigh it all up for myself.

louwn · 05/08/2015 21:36

Pretty sure DH wouldn't be keen on an early scan. He is trying to calm me down. I have a midwife appointment at almost 9 weeks and presume they sort the 12 week scan from there but I guess it could come through on a letter.
DizzyMerry ever think the hip and uterus twinges ARE the symptoms? I certainly count them as symptoms. I don't have loads either - intermittent needing to pee a lot, tiredness and slightly tender boobs, slight bit of nausea.
DH and I had sex this evening as hadn't since BFP - was nervous about it before but it was all fine - no bleeding afterwards or anything. That has actually made me feel a bit better.

Athousandtrees · 05/08/2015 22:05

That's great louwn dh and I tried last week but it was really sore so stopped. Poor dh! I did a bit of googling and apparently that's normal, though it didn't happen previously.

DizzyMerry · 05/08/2015 22:14

I guess they are louwn but they're only slight niggles and I don't have the tiredness or nausea or anything else for that matter so it all seems unreal.

TriJo · 05/08/2015 23:43

Heading to my GP tomorrow and really hoping to get an early scan because I am very unsure of dates. Could be anywhere between 5 and 7 weeks really! I seem to have gone up a cup size in the last couple of weeks as well and my legs were absolutely dead when I was running this evening.

Mummyofonesofar · 06/08/2015 06:30

My scan was £50, it will be so worth it to get that 8 week reassurance. 3 weeks today til scan day! I think I am more excited that nervous though.

kiwikaterpillar · 06/08/2015 09:24

Can I join? Got my BFP an hour ago (after telling myself I'd wait until the weekend to test!). According to online calculators due date 14th April, which is two weeks before what will be my DD 3rd birthday.
We had an early miscarriage 2 months ago so trying to not get too ahead of myself but this time just feels different..
Off to read the rest of the thread now, as too excited to sleep (it's night over here btw).

Mummyofonesofar · 06/08/2015 09:29

Congratulations kiwi! My mc was 2 months ago too x

Dexlie0806 · 06/08/2015 12:06

That's a great price for a scan mummy. I looked last night and like u wax it's £100. Congratulations to all the new
