aww! Congrats on team pink impatient Grin x

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 08:26

Congrats impatient!

Ah, coffee, we are the same. How old is your DD2? DS is 2.3. I'm not so bothered about the potty training (he also hates the potty) but the fact he wakes up every night and comes in with us is not great.
Also still bf-ing him which is no mean feat in pregnancy!

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 08:31

15days till my scan.. soo excited!
its relieving knowing the only reason were going is to look at the baby no checks ect. even though if they do see anything abnormal they do inform you.
Started to properly sort the nursery last night. . going to start decorating it next week Grin ive built the changing dresser & wardrobe.. have to keep it a secret from my mum though she would tell me off for being impatient!

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 09:11

By the way, how long has it taken everyone to get their scan and blood test results through? It's nearly 2 weeks since my 12 week scan.

Oysterbabe · 27/07/2015 09:48

We had our scan and got the letter with the Downs risk 5 days later.

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 10:02

i got told if i was high risk i will receive a call between 2-3 days.. which makes me nervous as today is the 3rd day! and 2-3 weeks as a letter if low risk.. should be anyday for you now Smile

SleepyDragon · 27/07/2015 10:10

Morning All

Hope everyone had a nice weekend, yesterday we had such a FAT day.. picked up our Starlite sleep swing (which is in immaculate condition btw) then went to the cafe for brekkie (Sausage, hash brown and tomato baguette and treated myself to a small cappucino) then we met the PIL for a Sunday Roast at our fave pub in a lovely viallge called Herongate... (read Roast beef, yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, cheesy leeks and mix veg followed by oranage torte)

I looked like i was 12 month pregnant with twins after that LOL

lutrinae i received my results letter one week after my bloods...

we have our 16wk appointment on Wednesday but with the consultant not the MW, bit nervous as don't know what goes on at the 16wk mark.

our 20 week scan is bang on 20 weeks on 27 August.... we're really hoping to find out if its team blue or team pink at that point too as its my bday on the 26 August so it would be an amazing 'present' (i'll be 36..... i feel so old!!!)

(15+4)

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 10:10

Thanks Oyster and MissMartin.
Well I just rang the antenatal clinic and they said they'd only contact me if there was a problem, otherwise 'see you at the 20 week scan'.
Ah well, at least I know there's nothing wrong I suppose.

kep1979 · 27/07/2015 10:11

Congratulations impatiently on joining team pink Smile

Not got scan until 21 August, I will be 19 weeks, but seems ages away. Got first appointment with community midwife on Thursday - I know it will be a bit of a non event but am hoping she'll try to hear the heartbeat.

15+3

coffeenut · 27/07/2015 10:14

DD2 is a bit over 2.5 lutrinae. Hats off to you still breastfeeding, you deserve a medal!!! Wow. I was just thinking the other night that I'm so glad DD2 is weaned as otherwise I'd be exhausted!

I never got a copy of the results from the harmony test (as in the actual risk percentages) ... my ob glossed over it when I asked her what the percentages were, just said, oh they're low. Would it be weird to ask for a copy of the results letter?

our scan is the day before yours mrsfaz Smile

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 10:15

Mmmm, Sleepy, you have got me craving a fried breakfast and a roast now!

I wish I could tell you what happens at the 16wk appointment but I have completely forgotten. Oops.

Normally you don't get one for pregnancy #2 but I am seeing the consultant about 'managing haemorrage' since I had one last time. I am hoping they will sign me off to deliver in the midwife-led unit if I agree to have a managed 3rd stage this time.

Lookingforadvice123 · 27/07/2015 10:16

Congrats on the girl impatiently! I think I'm the only team blue member on the thread? All seems to be girls!

mrsfaz you're still doing spin?! I'm impressed...and intrigued! Have you been going regularly since finding out you were pg? I kept going up until 8 weeks (but not giving it 100% as per the instructor's advice) but after my spotting episode I got too scared, plus felt too ill and tired anyway! Haven't been back since and I'm now 17+2. How have you found it?

My 20 week scan is 3 weeks today so I will be 20+2. Although time seems to be moving quite quickly the scan doesn't seem to be getting any closer! We've known the sex since 16 weeks but am anxious to make sure everything is ok with baby as they check everything! Won't be buying anything more until after the scan.

TeenieDeenie · 27/07/2015 10:17

Morning all! Been a bit quiet of late but still keeping up with the thread...

Congrats on Team Pink impatient, how lovely!

We got our downs results through on Friday, the letter just said 'low risk', didn't go into numbers or anything. Not sure if you just get a high or low risk letter through in Scotland? Anyway I'm taking it as fine and moving on. The numbers aren't going to make a bit ofdifference, I'm still low risk whatever they are so another box ticked.

Lutrinae We were at Ikea Edinburgh yesterday, I was excited to see what baby/nursery stuff they had but was pretty disappointed if I'm honest. I think they are missing out on a huge market by not having more. We seen lots of bumps and newborns there too.

Feeling like I'm getting a little bigger with lots of stretchy type pains most days... Waiting patiently to 'pop' ha ha...

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 10:17

Thanks coffee! Grin All the midwifes round here have said 'well done for still breastfeeding' which is a nice change from London.

I am hoping he self weans before baby 2 though as I really don't fancy tandem nursing!

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 10:21

Oh hi Teenie nice to hear someone lives near me !

I agree, the nursery section there is a bit disappointing.

I guess I won't get a letter about the Downs risk but at the scan the sonographer basically told me there and then I was low risk so I'm not too bothered.

Pugmumlondon · 27/07/2015 10:28

I've been back running now 3x 5k a week. Feel pathetic in comparison to usual but DH still anti it. I miss spin! Midwife was v v against my doing spin. Again I don't understand why not when I've been doing it for years. I probably wouldn't want to anyway, at the mo I am just exhausted.

Didn't sleep well last night as so stressed about having to get on the tube this morning.

Will hope for a nicer journey home tonight! May go via Victoria!

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 10:34

lutrinae oh that's good news then .. yay! Grin
looking i think coffee is team blue aswell? i may be wrong hehe

TeenieDeenie · 27/07/2015 10:38

Lutrinae I'm in Dundee, so about 90 mins away but Edinburgh Ikea is our nearest one. My mum was desperate to buy some baby stuff for us but they didn't really have anything I wanted, so I settled for some fish and chips instead ha ha. Smile

I've been getting out for a brisk walk in the evenings when the weather is ok. Only doing a 1.5 mile loop around our house, but I figured if I can do that 4 or 5 times a week then it's better than nothing.

lutrinae · 27/07/2015 10:45

Teenie We're in Dunfermline.
We always stock up on frozen meatballs so it's all good Smile

Well done for going for a walk - the weather here is shocking. I'm sat in a massive jumper in my study. Sort it out, July.

EdgarAllenPoe · 27/07/2015 10:48

I'm still swimming once a week, but most exercise has ground to a halt. My hips ache if I walk for more than 20 minutes, and have done since week 10. I've got my 16 week app on Wednesday so will ask the midwife what I can do to minimise it. Looking forward to the next scan but it isn't until I'm 21 weeks. All my appointments and scans seem to be about a week late, but oh well.

16+4 today!

coffeenut · 27/07/2015 11:00

yep missmartin is right looking I'm very happily team blue as well!! I think there was another as well. Hope you're doing okay today miss - what did you decide on the medication?

MissMartin10 · 27/07/2015 11:51

coffee i took the prescription and picked up the pills 'cyclizine' but im not sure lol

mrsfazruns · 27/07/2015 12:17

My midwife was against me doing spinning and running but I don't think she realised quite how active I was beforehand!! I'm doing less intensity at the classes and can't really see what the risk is .... It's just the same as cycling and I would imagine less risk than running!! I'm just sick of loads of different people giving different opinions .... Even lads who have never been around a pregnant woman told ME I shouldn't even sit on a bike as it can harm the baby!!

mrsfazruns · 27/07/2015 12:19

Just found this Article which in all for it
