Not started a new thread before, so I'll give it a go....

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
lilmisshopeful · 28/07/2015 19:04

here is the FB group a closed group? If so it doesn't appear in your profile or feed I think. I'm a tad superstitious about joining before 12 weeks and like Q I quite like the anonymity of MN. But I may well be tempted to join as long as my FB friends aren't going to see an 'X joined the due in March 2016 group' thing on their feed!

Me624 · 28/07/2015 19:09

Joanna I was put back 4 days at my scan at the weekend too, I was 8+1 and she said the baby was measuring 7+4. She said it's nothing to worry about and it might go back up again when I have my 12 week one.

Celen I didn't upload my scan picture as it isn't very identifiable as a baby, mainly because it was standing on its head!

I'm another who won't be joining the fb group as I like my internet anonymity!

Celen · 28/07/2015 19:20

I may join the FB group in the future but like to get to know people first Smile

Heard & witnessed rather too many dramas on MN and groups migrating from MN in the past unfortunately Confused

Herewegoagain31 · 28/07/2015 19:23

Yes it's a closed group and a secret group so nobody knows you are a member don't worry! And sharing tmi information still happens - we're all still anonymous really, just with a profile picture and a name! No one is Facebook friends so nobody can see private information or anything on your profile different from what a stranger on Facebook could see. Having been on a previous bus in 2013 Facebook is an amazing way to share things as you get further on in the pregnancy, it's so much easier to follow threads and post replies to particular posts and share pictures of course. Our 2013 group is very close and I know that has happened for many other groups too and we are all still posting regularly 2 years later - which wouldn't happen on a mumsnet thread! I'll stop selling the Facebook thing now! I can understand not joining till 12 weeks though, in fact I don't think our Facebook group was set up till 12 weeks last time when people wanted to start sharing scan pics and bump pics

Pannacott · 28/07/2015 20:03

I was on a MN thread for my last pregnancy (shoutout to the October 2013 crew!) and we did end up with a Facebook group, but only after the babies were born. I preferred that I think, the FB does encourage a bit more ahem extreme behaviour. Plus it was bags of fun to see peoples' FB personas after getting to know them via these groups. I'll hold off for now I think x x

julesldn · 28/07/2015 20:05

Celen - im a secret gossip queen! What happened with the MN fb groups?! How could it go wrong?! That's such a shame! (Imagine you don't want to give too much away, I'm just being nosey haha)

Herewego - I'll also be joining after my 12 week scan - looking forward to it!! Xx

julesldn · 28/07/2015 20:06

Pannacott - extreme behaviour?! Like what?!

Haha can you guys tell I'm exhausted on the sofa and that there's nothing on tv......... ????????

marmitemofo · 28/07/2015 20:49

how do we join the Facebook group? I may well join soon, I'm always on Facebook Blush

nausea back with a vengeance tonight. omg. in bed now feeling awful. didn't have time to pick up gaviscon on the way home so will have to get some tomorrow. can't believe I'm only 7+2... it's going to be a long first trimester Confused

Poppins27 · 28/07/2015 20:56

Herewegoagain....yes to the vivid dreams, I keep having dreams about losing my car or forgetting where I've parked it. Last nights involved me forgetting to buy the Xmas dinner and not remembering until 9pm Xmas eve?! Crazy!!

Thanks for the advice all this morning, I called my GP and have an appt at the EPU tomorrow morning so fingers crossed. No more fresh blood but still a little mucus (tmi) and mild period type pain ????

I've been relying on the Gaviscon too on an evening, was a lifesaver when pregnant with Dd

shieldbug · 28/07/2015 21:09

Struggling a bit here with exhaustion and nausea (never had it like this before, where it's totally debilitating). Thankfully no actual puking yet. It's probably due to being ancient and pg (I hit 42 over the weekend).

Good luck to all those with spotting. Try not to worry: if there's no clots, it's generally ok. I had a mega period and spotting with ds and all was fine. The consultant just said it was amazing what babies can survive.

I'm another one with no fb (no time; I'm struggling to keep up with this thread!).

Missdee2014 · 28/07/2015 21:55

Another one here struggling with severe exhaustion and nausea. I'm useless between about 5pm and 7.30pm daily. Feel like utter crap. Don't remember feeling like this with any other pregnancy.

Has anyone else experienced a feeling as though ur heart/lungs are working hard. Kind of like a shortness of breath?

Herewegoagain31 · 28/07/2015 22:06

Pannacot I just missed you last time - I was on the November 2013 group although my DD was born on 31st October in the end!

LaraNotCroft22 · 28/07/2015 22:10

Hello all Smile

Welcome newbies!

So sorry to hear your news just.

Also feeling crappy today (nine weeks now). I'm currently laid up in bed with a headache and couldn't stomach dinner.

I told my line manager at work today as the anticipation of doing it was getting stressful in itself if that makes sense?!

Wondering if anyone has the link to the latest stats? Want to add myself if not on there already. So many of us now it's hard to keep track Grin

Herewegoagain31 · 28/07/2015 22:51

Lara here it is docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CWO_z74sygCKB3cdMb7jXf2VP1TwJB8KCTF-M5XbTyY/edit?usp=sharing
Sorry to hear you are still feeling rubbish. I've spent most of the last week lying in bed as I'm at my parents so mum is looking after DD. We're back home tomorrow though and it's going to be a shock to my system having to look after DD all day again. Not looking forward to it at all!

Herewegoagain31 · 28/07/2015 22:54

I feel bad for poor DD too, she's had so much fun with granny and grandad so it's going to be a bump back to reality for her too with boring mummy managing one trip to the park a day at best and the rest peppa pig marathons! At least hopefully only 3 more weeks to go till I'm back to myself and able to do more with her again

Trinpy · 28/07/2015 23:37

You're not the only one Beautiful! I'm also 26 and not on fb Grin. I loved the mn Antenatal group I was on last time around and it was really sad when they all upped and left for the fb group Sad. I hope that doesn't happen with our group.

BeautifulLiar · 29/07/2015 04:33

Ooh Trinpy what social outcasts we are! Grin

Not impressed at being awake at this time again. Sooo hungry. Getting wound up with DH too, no messages from him. Fucker.

Hormones are horrible, I was so excited about the baby but now just stressed that we've bitten off more than we can chew. Dreading the lack of sleep. And I've got a spot on my chin Sad

maybebabybee · 29/07/2015 06:12

Also 26 and not on Facebook.:)

Paperblank · 29/07/2015 07:42

Morning y'all Brew

Is anyone else bloody freezing? I am cold all the while - I know it's not particularly warm anyway but I had my fleecy pjs on last night, our summer duvet and the winter weight one on me (was heaven actually) I have been trying to persuade DP to put the heating on....he said no Shock

Smirkingpicnicbasket · 29/07/2015 07:45

Beautiful definitely getting the 'bitten off more than we can chew' vibe - or more precisely 'more than I can chew' as DH thinks its going to be a walk in the park. I don't think he quite grasps how hard it is getting through the day with just 1 dd whilst he sits at his desk drinking hot tea all day! Little does he know I will not be getting up with both children at night when no 2 arrives - see if he makes it to the gym every morning then! HA!

Turned out to be an awful day yesterday only rescued by my mil's shepherds pie (which she had prepared for us and dropped off on sat!) which was delicious and sorted me right out so I could actually clean my kitchen after tea! She's coming over today too to help look after dd and I am so grateful to have such great pil!

My poor dd is calpol'd up to the hills as she has 4 HUGE teeth coming through and keeps crying at me with her little hand in her mouth!

I also had to crack out the gaviscon last night as I had indigestion at midnight - most likely from too much shepherds pie! Hmm

Me624 · 29/07/2015 07:58

I am not sleeping well at all, so tired Sad I hope this gets better after the first trimester!

Got to ring the hospital today to book my 12 week scan which is exciting, once that's in the diary I'll have something to look forward to. I just hope they can fit me in though, I will be 12 weeks on a Friday and then we go on holiday for 2 weeks on the Saturday. Does anyone know if it's a problem if they do it slightly earlier than 12 weeks?

JanineMelnitzGlasses · 29/07/2015 08:02

Paperblank I'm freezing too. Had pyjamas on last night and my DH looked a bit Hmm. Was tempted with the heating too, have to get washing dried today so have the perfect excuse Wink

Kittykitty05 · 29/07/2015 08:08

me it can be done I think from 11+3 for the nuchal measurement

OP posts:
Crispylicious · 29/07/2015 08:18

I'm boiling hot all the time rather than freezing! Was also awake at 3.30 am :( I'm not enjoying the pregnancy insomnia...

I may join the FB group if things progress, although do like the anonymity here. I've seen some drama nutters on past MN threads, so am a tad cautious!

Me624 · 29/07/2015 08:18

Ok thanks kitty. I'd best try and get it bang on that Friday then because when I had my private scan she said I was measuring 4 days behind, so that would put me at 11+3 when by LMP I am 12+0. Then again she also said I might go back up again by the time the scan comes round. Oh it's all so confusing!
