Oh mayo how sad for you and your inlaws Flowers

Brummie I'm hiding it by wearing big scarves and being a bit of a hermit, I'm getting fed up of the whole lying thing so turned down a couple of invitations this week and next, it feels too odd not being able to talk about the thing that's at the forefront of my mind at the moment

teaandcake2016 · 24/07/2015 11:41

Sorry to hear that may.

Reading that has reminded me I need to stop this pity party I'm having (in a coffee shop right now!). I told my mum about the baby- she was not pleased to say the least. Mil on the other hand is getting Carried away as if it was her own baby and generally suffocating me with demands!

clarabellski · 24/07/2015 11:56

Oh dear Mayo. I hope your bit of good news gives some comfort during a difficult time. Flowers

Teaandcake Flowers everyone has their own personal struggles and no matter what is happening in other people's lives, that doesn't belittle what you're going through! It's sad that your mum can't be happy for you at this time, but I hope she'll come round and support you.

Exciting Badgie! I'm planning a cinema trip the night before to distract myself as much as possible.

Rufus200 · 24/07/2015 12:10

Mayo big hugs

I just had my repeat bloods and got a free scan as well. Baby was kicking and waving, very cute. My mum came with me so she she got to see baby for the 1st time which was nice. I'm measuring 12wk today which is 2 days early but because I was insanely monitoring LH levels because of Clomid I'm sure I didn't ovulate for another 5 days. DH and I both held the record at our hospitals for longest babies, not sure how much babies can be big for their age at this stage?

rallytog1 · 24/07/2015 12:37

I think they can be big for their 'age' even at this stage Rufus. Dd was on top centile for length when born and every time I had my scans they said I was further on than my dates. In the end she was born 2 weeks 'late' but I think she was right on time and just very long/tall.

Hope your bloods work this time!

Finally had hospital letter and I have the same Consultant as I've had for my previous two pregnancies so I feel better knowing that I won't have to rake up my first birth and explain things. Scan on 5th August; first Consultant appointment on 16th September.

Symptoms seem to be easing, not as tired or sore. IBS flared up last night so I feel yacky today. ExMIL picked DDs up today for a week, we've decided to put them back in the big bedroom and us take the small bedroom, in preparation for baby's arrival. Would rather do it now than when heavily pregnant or with a baby underfoot.

I'm about to watch OBEM.

Gonna go back and catch up with you all now.

Rufus200 · 24/07/2015 13:12

Oh and the Dr very kindly told me how constipated I was on the scan because I obviously didn't know that myself! Has anyone else found that their stomach doesn't seem to be emptying properly? I'm getting up in the morning and I'm sure my stomach still has dinner in it, feels like a brick is sitting there. Think this is why I'm so nauseous at bedtime despite eating dinner at least 4 hrs before going to bed.

Mawsymoo · 24/07/2015 13:14

I'm still keeping my pregnancy "secret" in work but I think I'm reaching the end of that now and I'll have to tell people next week. I've just been dressing carefully - slim-cut dark trousers/pencil skirt with shell-tops over that skim down from my boobs. It's casual Friday today and I'm sure everyone can guess as even though I'm wearing a baggy top it's tending to cling on my belly.

I did a little maternity shopping yesterday - I got a pair of black skinny jeans in H+M that are lovely and soft, some leggings also in H+M, and a dress in New Look and one in Next both for less than half price. The dresses will be perfect for work with black tights - the Next one is actually lovely and will be my "good" dress for important meetings etc! It's very early and it felt weird buying stuff but I never relaxed for a day while pregnant with DS and let myself relax and trust in the pregnancy - as a result I made do with bits and pieces and towards the end felt like a frump. So at least this time I'll have a few nice pieces - even though they're all too big at the moment so I'll be in my normal clothes for another while.

I'm most looking forward to feeling movements - especially the ones you can feel from the outside! I loved that the last time.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 24/07/2015 13:47

Yes, I'm thoroughly constipated too Rufus I'm drinking lots of water but it doesn't seem to be helping so I'm contemplating something a bit more hardcore like prunes - yummy!

clarabellski · 24/07/2015 13:59

Oh stocking, OBEM makes me a weepy mess at the best of times, I'm not sure I could watch it now I'm actually pregnant.

Rufus, I eat a pretty veggie and pulsey diet and BP (Before Pregnancy) you could set your watch by my poos (sorry TMI!), but I've also been afflicted with constipation. It definitely aggravates the nausea!

I've switched my breakfast to Allbran (disgusting) disguised with plenty of milk and sultanas/raspberries, along with a small glass of prune juice. I've also been drinking as much water as I can even then my pee is the colour of lucozade.

If it doesn't get better for you I think your GP can prescribe laxatives.

Clara

BananaRaces · 24/07/2015 14:00

Rufus and Stepaway, I've got exactly the opposite problem! Can't seem to make anything stay in my system for long enough. It's making eating healthy really difficult because things like fruit and veg make it so much worse. I'm having to stick to a really low-fibre diet... I really want to make chicken tagine for dinner, but the recipe has apricots in it, which would probably be a disaster!! Hmm

Carltonlives · 24/07/2015 14:08

Hey everyone!

Sorry I have been missing for so long! I have felt so so tired and sick and have had absolutely no energy or brain power to keep up with the thread. I haven't had a chance to read back very far but will try and keep up from now on!

Hope everyone and bumps are well, some lovely clear scan pics already!

I'm 11+1 today, my scan is next Wednesday at 11+6. I'm really nervous for it, I haven't had an early scan or anything and really want to see my little baby now! Please go quickly 5 days! If I could go to sleep now and wake up on Wednesday I totally would.

zebra try prune juice (it looks disgusting but doesn't taste too bad if you drink it quickly). I was constipated a week or so back and I had a small glass of prune juice before bed for a couple nights and it really helped get things moving. I don't feel so uncomfortable now, but I will def go back to it if it starts again.

It's getting pretty hard for me to hide the bump at work now, I was quite flabby round the middle to start with so I think it's just all being pushed out a bit and making me look enormous!

What I'm looking forward to most is having a big bump, I absolutely loved my bump last time! I loved feeling the baby, dressing the bump, everything really! Can't wait :-) also I'm looking forward to my daughters face when I introduce the baby, she loves babies so much! She's only 2 so doesn't really understand that I'm having a baby yet!

StockingFullOfCoal · 24/07/2015 14:21

rufus Yes! Stupid horrible poo. Angry

carlton DDs are 7 & 4 and DNeph is 5 (I have DNeph EOW and often during the week) and they've asked, so far:

Is the baby swimming?
Can the baby play?
Can it see all your insides?
How does it get its food?

Grin
Boobear1983 · 24/07/2015 14:39

rufus I got told that I was dehydrated at my scan, which was weird because I'd just drunk a pint of water. I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and I can't hide the bump anymore!

GiraffesAndButterflies · 24/07/2015 14:42

Dried apricots were my constipation remedy of choice last time. And lots of water. Dried apricot is quite easy to eat so I found I could easily eat way more than I would have of "proper" fruit.

I was also one of the smug "ooo my nausea is easing" types and now I am trapped in the loos at work trying not to retch. Lovely.

As for what I can't wait for... Monday is my scan date and I will then be telling people and buying maternity clothes!! Actually we've had to tell a few already because it's been a bit obvious, but it will be Official. And I'm bloody desperate to get comfortable clothes on, feel like total shit right now.

Carltonlives · 24/07/2015 14:48

Yay fox! Mines at 10:30am I think. My scan letter says very clearly that toddlers are NOT welcome at scans, so I need to drop my dd at my mums first then go. Hoping to have a nice lunch and bit of shopping after it with dh too, as we have both got the whole day off Smile

Stepawayfromthezebras · 24/07/2015 15:53

giraffes will give apricots a try, then move on to carlton's suggestion of prune juice if needs be...

banana I couldn't have chicken tagine either, chicken has been making me ill for the past couple of weeks Confused

Littleoakhorn · 24/07/2015 16:22

Thanks Mayo

Wasn't there a newbie poster on here a few days ago with a really cool chemistry-sounding username? I think I've missed saying hello to a few newbies... sorry Blush

Happy Friday everyone!

Isn't it odd, chicken is fine for me. It's sweet stuff that's making me feel sick! Confused

Tiredoftiredness · 24/07/2015 18:06

Flowers haquoi and Mayo

Can't wait for my scan next Friday (will be lovely to see some pics from all the Thursday scanners before I go!) I'm 11+5 today and HUGE, don't know how people are restraining themselves from asking me when I'm due. Will be such a relief to finally let everyone know, I've been living in the same 4 loose tops at work and can't wait for a change!

Out with work tonight so spent the day picking my most slimming outfit, don't think it's very convincing though!
