Uggggghhhh too much pasta for lunch. I want to strip off my clothes and lie in a dark room. Pretty sure my colleagues would be Shock though.

I'm going camping in Wales this weekend. I'm not looking forward to getting up for the loo during the night Confused

Does anyone have more glamorous plans this weekend?

Raaaaaah · 23/07/2015 13:41

Equally luxurious here Clarabella. Camping for 2 weeks in france though. I think that the ferry over might finish me off! Lovely Wales though. Where abouts?

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 13:56

Gawd Raaah I remember the last time I took a ferry to Brittany from Portsmouth and vowed never to do it again. I think it was just the captain, DH and a couple of bar staff who WEREN'T sick. I actually contemplated throwing myself overboard and swimming the rest of the way at one point.

We're [driving!] to Anglesey. Its beautiful there. A bunch of us are staying at our friend's parents cottage. Its a 2 bed cottage but it is situated in an acre of land and they have a bat cave! Hmm

I hope your scan this morning was reassuring and you can now enjoy your holidays!

Rufus200 · 23/07/2015 14:12

Congrats raaaaah

So annoyed right now, just have a phone call and my Panorama test failed so has to be redone, so another 2 week wait of not knowing if everything is okay or not! I so needed to know the results this week and take away some of the stress!

BadgieBear · 23/07/2015 14:56

Yey what excellent news raaaah! Smile

primarynoodle · 23/07/2015 14:58

happy for you raaah

rufus how annoying!

i second all the people who were smugly enjoying not feeling nauseaous and congratulating your well developed placenta.... only for the nausea to return with a vengence and render you immobile Envy (sick face)

QuackQuackers · 23/07/2015 15:49

that's rubbish Rufus I had the same with my Harmony last time, but it didn't take the two weeks. It was about 3 or 4 days as the blood was already in the right country and they just reprocessed. Or are they taking your bloods and starting again?

Boobear1983 · 23/07/2015 15:50

Glad to hear everything is OK raaaah. I had my nt scan today. Everything was fine, they've moved my due date forward to 30/01 so I'm 12+5 now. Little bean was hyper and kept swimming off, was very cute.

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 15:56

Yay for mini boobear!

Is it just me or are most of the ladies who have had their 12 week scans finding that their dates are being moved forward? Had any of you had earlier scans? I though they were supposed to be pretty accurate.

Pogmella · 23/07/2015 15:58

Lovely scan today, little scamp was in the wrong position so had 15 mins of looking at hands, feet etc while waiting for the poglet to shift Smile

Boobear1983 · 23/07/2015 16:04

clara I've moved forward a week from my original due date. I had a private 9 week scan, that moved me forward a few days, then a few more days today. They said they'd use this date from now on

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 16:13

Thanks boobear, that's interesting as I thought I was further on than my early scan said I was although given I can't remember when I had my period it is a moot point anyway It will be interesting to see what they say next week.

Great news pog!

haquoi123 · 23/07/2015 16:19

Lovely pic boobear and great news pog! raaah I'm so pleased everything is OK. I didn't mean to sound scaremongering about not having someone with you, sorry about that. I've been through two losses on my own and vowed never again. DH comes to every appointment now, routine or not. Just really pleased everything's ok :)

Pogmella · 23/07/2015 16:20

Thanks! My dates are the same. Told work today and they were super excited and just really pleased so what will be will be but I think I might have been worrying unduly.

Rufus200 · 23/07/2015 16:21

Quackers I have to have new bloods done tomorrow, apparently there wasn't enough DNA.

primarynoodle · 23/07/2015 16:26

clarabel i had an early scan at what i thought was 8+2 and they said 7+2... then at my emergency scan i thougt i was 11+0 and they said 10+0 so the early scan was bang on!

i am a bit gutted ive been moved back tbh... ah well it means an extra week of wages i suppose!!

going to view houses tomorrow... for those with children could you advise me if my criteria is sensible:
need
garden with a grass bit
bath
want
gas hobs (coz im sick of shit ceramic hobs grr - nowt to do with baby tbh)
a full size fridge/freezer (hard enough to prep and freeze for one letalone a couple and a baby with an undercounter)

does that sound sensible? is there anything ive not thought of? ive not lived in a house since i moved out of my parents 5 years ago! im excited to have stairs!!!

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 16:33

Primary I don't have kids but I know houses! Are you buying or renting?

For renting I think your list is spot on. If you're buying, getting the right white goods/oven etc that you want isn't necessarily a deal breaker as they can be purchased relatively cheaply. I guess it depends on how new the seller's goods are.

In any case a bath is a must! We bought a house in March this year with NO BATH (ARRGGGH!!!). I've spent the past 3 months trying to get quotes for the bathroom to be refitted. All I can say is what bloody recession? Trying to get a tradesman in is like trying to get blood out of a stone...

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 16:35

p.s. primary if your new pad has space (e.g. in garage or large cupboard) I recommend getting a chest freezer from gumtree. We bought one for £20 (had previously been in a cafe and it has ice cream stickers all over it!) but it has been great in addition to our 2m size fridge freezer as we prepare meals ahead ALOT and that will likely increase with a wee one in the house I won't mention the whole pig that we get every autumn from my brother's farm in case anyone is veggie

Phoenix80 · 23/07/2015 16:45

Excellent news Raaaah Smile

Clarabellski - I'm very slightly more luxurious in my parents static caravan Grin. The internet is rubbish here so I won't get online very often.

Good luck for all the scans coming up next week xx

Phoenix80 · 23/07/2015 16:46

Congrats Boobear Grin

primarynoodle · 23/07/2015 16:48

ooo clarabel i hadnt thought of that!

we are renting... sadly my dream of slumming it in a cheap rented 1 bed flat to see me and dp through 12 months until we had saved a deposit went poof with the bfp!

that was my thinking about the bath - with all the kids ive ever nannied (alot) a bath was an essential part of a stress free bedtime routine and trying to shower a toddler with one hand holding the hose while you stop then from running away/try to
shampoo/try to save your sanity usually ends up with a flooded bathroom/sopping wet clothes/arguments and tantrums ime!!

Phoenix80 · 23/07/2015 16:49

Oooops sorry Pogmela I missed your post, congrats on your scan too Grin

Littleoakhorn · 23/07/2015 16:53

ooooooh Clara a whole pig sounds great. Primarynoodle I switched from a gas to induction hob when we moved to Germany. they're just as responsive as gas but far, far easier to keep clean.

congratulations to all today's scanners. Such lovely news Smile

Rufus200 · 23/07/2015 16:57

Primary make sure the staircase is baby proof (has railings) if you are going to stay there long term and having a toddler going up and down stairs. My staircase is completely open and unsafe. Garden to be enclosed with preferably no ponds as drowning risk.

clarabellski · 23/07/2015 17:04

Excellent points Rufus. We'd love to install a pond but are going to wait a few years.

Little a whole pig is a LOT. We're going halfers with a friend this year as we struggle to use it all. Although I'm guessing in Germany, pork features heavily!

"Pheonix* can we swap? I loved caravan holidays when I was younger. OH not keen on them, prefers tents Confused

Right, having done basically no work for the past hour, I'm going to go home and veg on the couch! Have a lovely evening everyone!
