My DH just now as I said that fridge smells horrible: why don't you go and lie down for a bit then. As I headed to do just that, I said thanks so much for helping and dealing with it, feeling really lucky to have such a supportive and understanding hubby. To which he snapped, I never said I was dealing with it, I just want you to f* off until you're done complaining about everything! Oh well....I'm still having a lie down ????

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 20:17

Sounds like a nice chap.

LillianMakesAMinion · 11/07/2015 20:21

good luck with the trip mars - i agree with the muesli bars or try the belvita breakfast biscuits

goneswimming Shock, ah well as long as the end result is that you get a bit of a lie down!

eggsnbeans · 11/07/2015 20:31

Ooh sounds tough Mars! I would hunt out a kettle and extention cord when you get there (dh and I did on last trip to Italy ;) ) then you can do packet soup at least! And find some bread and fruit if you can! Sounds rough though :(

Is anyone else totally bricking it about their scan? Mine is 10days away and I have such a bad feeling I'm going to be told I've had a mc! Petrified!

Mawsymoo · 11/07/2015 20:42

I'm with you eggs - my scan is on Monday and I'm getting nervous now.

I was out last night until 2am on a hen night and then when I came home the baby was crying and he stayed up til 4am. He was up for the day then at 7am. I feel terrible today, even though I had an afternoon nap. It's like having a hangover without any of the fun part!

Onecurrantbun · 11/07/2015 21:10

Sorry for the radio silence guys
We had 2 weeks of D&V followed by a holiday
In amongst I did have an early scan and all was ok at 7+3. 9 weeks today!

mars Aldi / Lidl have some individually wrapped Pain au Choc which are good for something starchy. Obviously dried fruit is the healthy choice though!

We are super lucky to have a midwife unit attached to the local hospital which was the best of both worlds for me. No examinations, just one midwife who left DH, DD2 and I snuggling together on a beanbag as soon as DD2 was born. I went in at 5pm birth at 8.30 and home at 12...

mawsy out til 2am is too hardcore for me! You are my new hero!

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 21:10

Ugh. Mawsy, I can't think of anything worse than a sober hen night. Except getting in at 2am Hmm

How are those with dire goings-on at home? I am miserable and scared and very angry. To top it all I've had the worst nausea and fatigue ever today. I cannot cope with Nancy when I am this bone-achingly shattered, but then again I don't have to....SuperDad is here

Onecurrantbun · 11/07/2015 21:13

eggs totally normal i reckon, and the reason I'd never take the kids along. Step away from Google, though Flowers

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 21:14

I don't care how 'high risk' I am this time, I am not having my baby yanked out with forceps OR being called Zoe by a 12-yr-old midwife when that is not my fucking name. Home birth it is. If owt goes wrong there are such things as ambulances

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 21:15

Good luck with the trip, Mars.

Littleoakhorn · 11/07/2015 21:30

Purdie are you upset about something specific or life in general? I struggled to cope today too. Nausea and tiredness are bloody awful.

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 22:27

Littleoak, nope, Something Is Gravely Wrong in my relationship which I don't want to talk about. It isn't an affair or owt like that, but I have unearthed a rather colossal betrayal. Suffice to say that wonderful, selfless, amazing dad's and partners can, in fact - and underneath it all - be prize cunts.

PurdiePipesDown · 11/07/2015 22:28

..and whoever slipped that erroneous apostrophe in 'dads' is a cunt, too.

Purdiepipesdown · 11/07/2015 22:29

Sorry, that was me.

monkerina · 11/07/2015 22:33

Fucker. Hope you're as ok as can be expected, Purdie, feel free to vent x

Mars, you're a braver woman than I- what about brioche, biscuits etc? Carb heavy diet chez moi, clearly. Are you going for long?

clumsypots · 11/07/2015 22:36

purdie it's because I am being tested for a syndrome (that I can't spell) that causes blood clots and mcs which is why I am having to inject clexane twice a day and may have to start taking aspirin too. Sorry to hear about your betrayal

birdbrain21 · 11/07/2015 23:43

Haven't caught up yet on all the news far too late just marking my place for now. Thanks for new thread

jellypi3 · 12/07/2015 08:04

Hope you're ok purdie :( Men are sometimes complete toss-pots.

haquoi123 · 12/07/2015 08:18

purdie that truly sucks! Really hope you've got support there.

StockingFullOfCoal · 12/07/2015 08:54

purdie hand holding, similar thing going on in my home too Angry as for the forceps concern, do you have another hospital local that you could go to? The nearest one to me (10 min drive) is the one that fucked me and my boy up, so I won't be going there, I'm going to the one I had my girls at even though its about 30 mins drive on clear roads, double that during rush hour (I lived 10 mins away when I had DDs but have since moved back to hometown) I had a Consultant there who wrote it down and told others/promised me that at the first sign of complications it'd be a spinal and a c sec. Both times. MW has already written that on my notes this time. Consultant was horrified when he read my notes from the bastard hospital and told me I should seriously consider suing them but I haven't

madsaz76 · 12/07/2015 09:12

Just dipping my toe in the water. Think I am getting away with it mostly so far except for the sinking realisation I am going to get humongoboobs (2 sizes up already). DH looking after me (though minor grumbles about me being knackered all the time )

I mainly plan to lurk and learn :)

Littleoakhorn · 12/07/2015 09:14

Oh Purdie I'm so sorry my lovely. I wish online hugs were as effective as real life ones.

Stocking, that sounds like a nightmare. It's pretty rare that a consultant would say that.

As for me, it's a perfect day here - warm, sunny, dry, not too hot. The nausea is a bit less crippling than yesterday. That, to me, means that life is OK.

Brummiegirl15 · 12/07/2015 09:28

Purdie massive hugs to you xx

I've got a fear of forceps as well as I know the damage they can do. There is no way on this earth that some doctor is dragging my baby out with forceps.

I've got extensive scarring on my cervix so I'm concerned about failure to progress. So in my consultant appt on 3rd August I'll be making the request for an elective.

I know in older women the NICE and RCOG guidelines suggest induction at 40 weeks and inductions / epidurals are more likely to lead to forceps. Fuck that

I've researched elective thoroughly, risks etc plus risks of assisted birth so I'm ready to fight my corner.

And when your own sister who is a obs & gynae registrar admits she wouldn't have forceps, well that tells me everything I need to know

Spanoo · 12/07/2015 10:06

purdie hope you're alright - totally sympathise with the feeling let down by your bloke. I had a crap time with mine as at the beginning of the week he was just being rubbish - staying out all evening, leaving me with all the housework even though I'd said I was feeling rough. Then when I confronted him, he told me he didn't know if he wanted a baby after all. I told him that he can stay or leave - but commit to whatever decision he made. We had a big talk on Friday eve and turns out he was "just feeling overwhelmed" (my heart bleeds) and now he seems happy again. So unsettling, but this is kind of typical of him tbh!

Sorry for going on, but just wanted to share why I was feeling angry, scared and miserable!!!
