Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 31st grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 49th outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

Here is the stats list, please update your own spot with any updates: Stats

IT'S A MINEFIELD!

I have filled a giant John Lewis bag with the 0-3 month stuff for washing. I very much doubt this baby's going to wear it all!

Phew...nursery is boiling because window still not fixed Confused so can't open it. Fed up now with this. Meant to be getting done wed now

LaLaLaaaa · 22/06/2015 14:26

Thanks Rhi I'm not proud but I was kind of impressed with the size...

Fleurchamp · 22/06/2015 14:39

la I find nowadays farts creep out with no notice whatsoever Blush

I have 10 sleep suits (long sleeved, built in scratch mitts and feet) and 10 short sleeved body suits (short sleeves and no legs) in new born size. I think they will keep us going for a while, I know our parents will go crazy buying stuff when they know if it's a boy/ girl.

I figure if it's warm they can wear the body suit with a thin blanket, if it's a bit chilly a sleep suit and if it's cold a body suit and sleep suit together.

Thoughts - is this enough? We can always get more if needed.

I am also going to get a cardigan although my MIL has been knitting Grin

I got a Jo Jo Maman bebe voucher from work, will head there later this week - was thinking of getting a "going home from hospital" cute babygro and a sophie le giraffe Smile

LaLaLaaaa · 22/06/2015 14:43

Fleur I reckon that's fine as folk will buy when they know what you've had. Mines ridiculous - I'll upload photo on Facebook

goodnessgraciousgouda · 22/06/2015 15:19

fleur - I don't know if this is right, but I read that it's better for a baby to be ever so slightly too cold than it is for them to be ever so slightly too hot. They can warm up very quickly when picked up/breastfed due to your body heat, but it's more difficult for them to cool down.

But maybe not first time parents on the thread can clarify.

Thanks for the reassurance Dulcet - They are really strict about weight gain here, so hopefully it will settle down. I think the biggest issues are not being able to do any exercise, and the fact that my morning sickness is still loitering . Hopefully when I can actually do some gentle exercise, and bear to eat healthy food again things should slow down.

Frankly I'm surprised the weight hasn't FALLEN off given the complete lack of booze over the past 8 weeks!

WilHarlot · 22/06/2015 15:37

I usually put a bodysuit, sleepsuit and sleeping bag on for night time but appreciate it's colder here than where most of you are. Daytimes I usually use bodysuit plus outfit and then just chuck a blanket on top if it's cold. On the rare occasion it is actually hot I'd leave off the bodysuit.

There was a big hoohah about Sophie the giraffe the other day as apparently babies stick her legs too far down their throat and can choke. No idea if it's a big fuss over nothing or not but just to let you know. There is apparently a giraffe with shorter legs you can buy instead.

WilHarlot · 22/06/2015 15:39

Definitely better to be slightly cold than hot although they're more likely to sleep if hot.

Pisghetti · 22/06/2015 15:47

From what I read about the Sophie thing it was lack of supervision that was the greater issue. BabyPis is forever sticking her fingers down her throat so Sophie won't stand a chance Hmm

batfish · 22/06/2015 15:55

gouda I weigh a ton, 22lb on and I'm 24 weeks Shock

Cymraes17 · 22/06/2015 16:00

I am in labour!
Got given a pessary(?) at 9.15, supposedly a 24hr thing to start slowly. Took it out 11.30 as contractions were 45seconds apart. And sent to labour ward. Dr broke my waters @ 3.30.
Hoping for baby before midnight!
Babies usualy wear one layer more than us, be it vest or cardigan.
Im off to contract......

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2015 16:02

Fleurchamp · 22/06/2015 16:07

FFS everything I decide to get for this baby turns into some kind of death trap Angry

how do any babies survive?

batfish · 22/06/2015 16:16

Woohoo cym exciting stuff!!

pretzelpieces · 22/06/2015 16:18

Yay cym good luck

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2015 16:23

Right! Back from IKEA. Full of meatballs and feeling queasy. Now, time to build some furniture!

Its very exciting because it means I get my bookcase back so I can stop double stacking books. Woot!

I am so pleased so many of my friends have babies. I totally knew the difference between the different types of baby clothes! Dead chuffed. Check me out. Also pleased I won't need to buy many clothes because of millions of hand me downs. Yay!

Technically, this bookcase is our first piece of baby furniture. Because we have no real storage in living room. Now we have 6 square feet worth of room for nappies, wipes, clothes and toys. Yay!

LaLaLaaaa · 22/06/2015 17:01

Hooray cym hooray!!! shakes pom poms madly

Love the advice-giving, multi-tasking at its best! Push, cym, push! Can't wait to see baby pics!!!

gouda don't worry about weight it balances out. I put on stone in first tri, 2 stone in second and haven't put anything else on since. Thats 42lb I've added so far (does that make you feel a bit better bat? ;) )

Ok so I've been mega-productive - today I have:

*Opened all the packets of baby clothes, sheets, cellular blankets etc., sorted them into colours/materials and put in a big bag to wash.
*Disposed of what feels like a countrys worth of packaging - recycling as much as possible
*Arranged the 'changing nappy' drawer - cotton wool, creams, etc. plus health stuff like Infacol, thermometer.
*Sorted the vintage rocking chair situation that's been bugging me for months - two lovely new John Lewis cushions now in place and I've tried it out and it's mega-comfy.
*Sorted hospital bag stuff out and it's laid out on bed, ready to do with dh tonight (so he knows where to find everything and - most importantly - what everything is!)
*Done a load of baby clothes washing and next load in machine now - got about 3 to go!
*Cleaned kitchen completely, as it was manky after busy last week at work
*Got out car seat and Familyfix to put into car tonight with dh
*Found tens machine - previously presumed lost and gone forever
*forgotten to eat again - what's with that? I'm just not hungry anymore

Have realised that:

1 - we have no nappies. How have we forgotten to buy nappies? Need to buy nappies tomorrow
2 - I have forgotten to buy a nightie. I'm presuming I can't just be naked?
3 - I don't think my 'big' pants are big enough
4 - we have too many 0-3 month baby clothes
5 - I have no fucking idea why the living room STILL smells of cat wee, as we thought we'd found the big patches yesterday and cleaned them :(
6 - I quite like maternity leave. I get to do what I want and no one can tell me off
7 - I don't give a shit that I'm not at work, it's really nice
8 - I have a lot of time on my hands, hence this list.

Me and dh read up on perineal massage last night - it's more complicated than I thought! I'm a bit scared of it. Meanwhile I've got my RLT and I'm starting with a cup just now.

batfish · 22/06/2015 17:17

Wow la sounds like a seriously productive day!

With nighties for labour - most people seem to say they have ended up naked as haven't wanted anything touching their skin but I guess before it gets to the point that you're ripping your own clothes off you will want something - I guess something long-ish with buttons?!

In your pics you do not look like you could possibly have gained 42lb, you must have been seriously teeny before, you have a great preggo figure! I really hope I stop gaining weight after second tri but I am eating like an absolute horse so unless I stop it it's going to get messy!

LaLaLaaaa · 22/06/2015 17:28

bat I was at my lowest weight when I got pg and I think a lot of the weight is baby/fluid/boobs, but we'll see once he pops out! I struggle to lose weight so I'm not looking forward to the battle, but to be honest I don't think I'll be too bothered as it's for a great reason. I ate like a beast through second tri!

batfish · 22/06/2015 17:32

I was pretty heavy for me when I got pregnant so definitely feel the size of a baby elephant now - but never mind, will try to enjoy the guilt free ish scoffing for now and worry about getting thinner again in 3-4 months. Having glucose test on Saturday though and I'll be bloody lucky if it comes out OK!

DulcetMoans · 22/06/2015 17:33

Yay cym! Check back with a baby soon - there's a self imposed midnight target now!

Well now I am just ashamed at my lack of productivity on the first day of mat leave la! That's impressive. What will you do the rest of the week, expect buy nappies!

Ikea success honey!

Indigoblue2 · 22/06/2015 17:34

cym push it! Push it real good!!

honeysucklejasmine · 22/06/2015 17:37

Right! Unit built!

La I am dead impressed with how productive you have been today! Check you out. Love that you are going to talk DH through what everything is. That's fabulous.

gaggiagirl · 22/06/2015 18:22

Yay cym!!!!!!!!
