Here's a little sneaky pic from this morning.

August 2015 Part 4
spinningirl10 · 13/08/2015 07:07

Morning ladiesSmile

Hope you don't mind me popping my head in from the ttc board. I was looking to see if Frolics baby had arrived yetGrin not long now Frolic, bet you can't wait!

And Dozy! I remember you. Many Congratulations to you. Your girl is beautiful and I love the name Piper. How rude is your mil! Hope you get to go with your name choice.

Good luck to the rest of you still waitingSmile

Equimum · 13/08/2015 08:00

Congratulations Dozy. Your little girl is beautiful, although it sounds like you had a complete marathon getting her out! I hope you are not too sore now and that you get to go home soon. Can DH cuddle her for an hour or so when he visits, so that you can try to have a nap? Have you found information on your local breastfeeding support services for when you leave? Mind you, you should get plenty of help from the midwives for a while. Also, be really careful looking after your tear. I found it took a while to heal and that I really did need lots of rest an to avoid lifting, rubbing etc, so don't do too much. Oh, and I love the name BTW. Ignore anyone who laughs - it is your choice.

Frolic, the meteor shower sounds so romantic. I hope you had a really special time.

Mzzf, I hope your wound isn't any worse this morning and that your GP is able to help. Good luck.

Siani, congratulations on finally moving in. Slowing down a bit sounds well-deserved, and I hope your little one decides to arrive of their own accord very soon.

Trust me, I wasn't calm when I actually was 6 days over. I had some really sore BHs last night but they didn't come to anything. DH was in a lot of pain after hurting his neck, though, so it was probably just as well. He had already said he wouldn't be able to drive if anything happened, and wondered if I needed to get someone on stand-by to be my birthing partner, just in case. Despite this, he has been able to get up and catch a commuter train this morning!

Dozygirl · 13/08/2015 09:48

spinning hi I remember you from ttc boards. I hope you are doing ok. Thanks for the congrats. Not long for frolic now.

Had a bit of an emotional break down last night, must be the hormones. The midwives are all lovely though and have reminded me that I've actually been through an ordeal. I'd actually had a post partum haemorrhage too which I keep forgetting so they said I'm allowed to feel sorry for myself and should be looked after. equimum I had a physio come see me yesterday while dp was around so he heard her say I'm not allowed to do very much for the next 2 weeks, similar to the advice they give ladies who've had a section but just not for as long a period so hopefully that means he will look after me. I think he will because it's clear I'm in pain.

Midwives have been great with the feeding support too. Some like being hands on but I much prefer that because at least it's getting her on and sucking. I know all the theory because of my job but doing it yourself is completely different. And it's an area I've never been very confident in.

Siani yey for moving finally. Now u can concentrate on your little one arriving.

Equimum hope your baby arrives soon. They're all arriving thick and fast now on the Facebook group. It's all so exciting.

Frolicacid · 13/08/2015 10:41

Thank you for popping to check up on me spinning! I'm trying not to complain, but so ready for this to be over now!
I hope all is good with you my lovely? I still stalk you on the conception threads. Take care Star

Congratulations dozy FlowersFlowersFlowers she is absolutely beautiful.
You sound really good, despite a bit of a tricky time. I hope you get to go home today and relax in your own environment. I LOVE Piper Jean. Ignore your mil.
Take it easy and enjoy every snuggle with your beautiful bundle.
Is blueberry on the Facebook group with you still? I was wandering last night if she's had her baby yet. Do you know? A big congratulations from me if she has.

I hope your wound is ok mzzf. Get to the gp assp. Do you need a telling off for doing too much? Wink I hope your're all settling in your new home?
Thanks for the advice about spending time with dh. My friends have said the same. I'm trying hard to fight the grumps and enjoy these last few days / weeks of it just being us. We've been together for 14 years, so sharing our life with this little one will be a shock.

Yippeeee siani!!! Congratulations on your new home. I hope you are settling in well. It sounds like you've been really busy. I hope you manage to take it a bit easier today. You have a big job ahead, try and keep some energy for that!

I hope your dh's neck gets better equimum. Sore braxton hicks sound promising. Mine don't hurt at all. How many weeks are you now? Are second babies meant to arrive a bit sooner?

I hope everyone has a good day today. I'm just pottering at home and meeting a friend later for lunch. Watching the meteor shower with dh last night was lovely. I wished on every one for this little dude to arrive safe and soon.

Equimum · 13/08/2015 11:32

dozy, sorry if I sounded like a 'know-it-all' in my last post. It was just that I didn't really get any advice after my 3rd degree tear and consequently did too much and caused some complications (having a baby at the weekend between Christmas and NY isn't advisable when it comes to getting quick input from professionals Grin ).

Glad the meteor shower was such a special experience Frolic. DH was much better this morning, thanks. I think, in theory, second babies come earlier, but obviously it varies a lot. I'm 39+5, so just need to be patient for now.

It's absolutely pouring down here, so DS is being treated to a day of his train set and CBeebies while I lounge on the sofa, do bits of laundry etc. I will try to think of a crafty activity to do with him this afternoon...hopefully not involving paint! Shock

Fanby · 13/08/2015 11:43

Oh yay Dozy you've updated!! I've found it so difficult not to say anything on here :) Massive congratulations again, I'm absolutely thrilled for you – Piper (yes i'm calling her that – stick to your guns it's a beautiful name for your beautiful baby!!) is absolutely gorgeous! Sorry to hear about the break down, I obviously am not there yet but I reckon it's absolutely completely normal! Please make sure you get as much rest as you can, it'll make you heal quicker too!

Frolicacid: Oh what a lovely romantic thing to do! You sound like you live in the most idylic place with all the beach walks, I really miss living on/by the seaside.

Sianihedgehog: Happy new home to you! I hope you're not too uncomfortable! Definitely slow down a bit though lovely! You really need to rest and save those energy stores – any day now esshkk!

Mzzf: Ouchie! You poor thing! Hope the pain isn't too bad – like Siani – you also need to REST REST REST!!

Galaxy2014: Ahh lovely BBQ, we haven't had one this year yet, with the weather the way it is today I think we ma have missed the boat lol!

Had another sleepless-esque night, I was awake from 2:30-6:30am and then dropped into a really deep sleep until the builders from upstairs woke me up at 7:30pm. I'm just watching OBEM – some of the dads are so cute, can't believe the one who laminated their birth plan ahhh!
I have my midwife appointment at 2:30pm today, I really want her to give me a sweep and get the baby out lol but i'm only 39+5 and they don't do it until you go over here. Off to see the NCT girls after and I think/hope one of them is bringing their new baby, hope I get some cuddles :)

Dozygirl · 13/08/2015 15:19

Oh no equimum I was just agreeing with you about the not doing too much. I didnt think u were being a know it all.

I've had a good rest this morning so feeling a little better. Still stuck in hospital though. I'd love to go home now! But still monitoring my bp at the moment.

Fanby we haven't had a bbq yet either this year. We normally have loads! Guess the baby thing took up more of a time even in the lead up to it than we expected.

Frolic enjoy your last few days together as twosome. I tried my best to despite being in and out of hospital at the end.

Dozygirl · 13/08/2015 15:47

Oh yeah you asked about blueberry. Last we heard it sounded like she was starting labour a couple of days ok but had no further update so we're taking that as a good sign that she has had her baby now. I'll let u know if I hear anything more.

Frolicacid · 13/08/2015 21:09

I hope you managed a nice, quiet day equimum? The rain has just started here now. It's been so hot and humid all day it's kind of nice to feel the air clear. I hope you're not in any of the areas that have flooded today.

We do live in a lovely place fanby. We came back here to settle and have a family as it's where I grew up. We're very lucky to have careers that enable us to work here as jobs aren't ten a penny and lots of the work is seasonal / touristy. Being so close to the beaches and mountains absolutely rocks. We really appreciate having so much beauty on our doorstep.
How was your midwife appointment? Any joy with the sweep?
I watched last nights obem as well. The laminated birth plan bloke made me irrationally annoyed. I think I would have wanted to punch him for some reason. But, did you see how lovely her birth was? I really wouldn't mind one like that.
Finger crossed you get a better sleep tonight.

I hope you've had a good day and manged to get home dozy. And that your bp is behaving.
Thanks for keeping me updated about blueberry. Hopefully she's holding her bundle of joy by now.
It's a bit crazy to think that this time last year I was just joining the ttc buses and starting to chat to you all.

I hope everyone else has had a good day. Not much to report here. I had a lovely lunch and afternoon with my friend. I think I'm starting to enjoy this lady of leisure business Smile

Fanby · 14/08/2015 06:49

So...my waters have broken. Woke about 3ish and was lying there for a while not being able to sleep, same old same old! About an hour later I felt a pop and it started. Did worry a little bit as it's got s pink tinge so paged the mw and they phoned back so quickly. Too excited to sleep so I've been up watching TV for the last few hours. Fingers crossed this is it Smile!

Equimum · 14/08/2015 07:53

Yay Fanby, Grin how exciting! It really won't be long now. I hope everything kicks off soon for you. I know it's hard, but make sure you get some rest during this lull, otherwise you might end up exhausted by the end. Wow, you're also going to be really close to, if not on EDD aren't you? (I'm thinking you're also due tomorrow?).

Frolic, it does sound lovely where you live. Can I be nosy and ask roughly which region you are in? It must be great to have careers that can be moved to more remote areas. Unfortunately DH is pretty much a slave to London offices, although we live further south. We were fairly near to areas that flooded yesterday, but we escape any damaged. I hope the storms weren't too bad for you last night.

Well, I'm 39+6 and no more signs here. I was uncomfortable with lots of Braxton Hicks and really sharp cervical stabbing all day yesterday but it has still come to nothing. DH left for work without even asking how I was, although he did have the decency to send a text asking if I was feeling okay Hmm. Guess I'll be off to toddler gym this morning then. Maybe they'll let me have a sneaky jump on the trampoline Grin .

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway · 14/08/2015 08:29

Congratulations Dozy she's beautiful & the name Piper is gorgeous.

Fanby fingers crossed your contractions start , with my youngest they allowed me 24 or 48 hrs ( can't quite remember) to go into labour after my waters broke before starting induction.

Equimum , I'm really uncomfortable too at 39+2 and no signs of anything happening am trying to think positive as my midwife keeps reminding me I haven't ever gone over due ... There's a first time for everything!

Hope everyone has a good day either enjoying new born snuggles , labouring or contraction spotting.

OMC1 · 14/08/2015 09:58

Congratulations Dozy!! She is beautiful, as is the name you've chosen!

Good luck, Fanby !!!

I am officially due today, and my back is in agony. Can't tell whether it's a sign, or just because I scrubbed the bathroom yesterday!!

Safe to say, I am getting proper uncomfortable now and incredibly impatient!! Wish baby could let me know when they feel like arriving... Wink

Dozygirl · 14/08/2015 10:20

Yes fanby!!!! I'm so Excited for you! This surely means you'll be having your baby today or tomorrow. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Frolic I think we joined the ttc buses around the same time. I remember lurking for awhile before actually joining. Boy those were stressful days! I was terribly impatient to get pregnant.

Omc I remember us being due date buddies. Hope u don't have too much longer to wait. And equimum, must be getting closer. This waiting at the end for it all to happen is so hard!

Dp took some gorgeous photos yesterday so thought I'd share them. I love showing her off. I'm surviving on no sleep pretty much but never mind.

Blueberry had a baby boy on Wednesday I think. He's a proper cutie too.

Frolicacid · 14/08/2015 10:58

Ohhhhh fanby!! How exciting for you. Hopefully things will get going and you will have your little bundle soon. Good luck Flowers

We're in on the North Wales coast equimum. It's really lovely. But sometimes I miss being close to lots of big shops. I'm glad you managed to escape the flooding. We had lots of rain over night and it's still going.
I'm with you on the uncomfortable front. No pains or niggles though. Enjoy the toddler gym, and definitely have a go on the trampoline!

Happy due date OMC! Let's hope that back pain is a good sign. I would also love a bit of an idea when to expect this baby. I'm 39 weeks today - anytime in the next 3ish weeks is just to bloody vague.

She is beautiful dozy! What lovely pictures. Are you sticking with piper? I love it.
Thanks for the update about blueberry. Please congratulate her from me.

Happy Friday everyone Smile! There aren't many of us left now - but a week closer to meeting our babies for those of us yet to pop.
I was supposed to be meeting a friend this morning, but she's had to cancel. I'm a bit pleased to finally get some serious sofa time in! I've been so busy since finishing work. I feel like I should be doing some sorting out baby clothes or batch cooking. Maybe later.
Have a great day mums, bumps and babies.

Fanby · 14/08/2015 12:12

Thank you for all the happy vibes and wishes! I managed to get a bit of sleep and still in bed – it's the weird thing of knowing I should rest but then walking is supposed to help?!

Equimum: Yep, due tomorrow like you I think – fairly sure we're date twinnys? Toddler gym sounds amazing! Get on the trampoline! Hope your braxton hicks aren't too uncomfortable – although pain is gain/progress?! ;)

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway: Thank you!! Yep, it's 24hours here and then they'll induce, if I want that is! I want the baby out lol!

OMC1: Oooh i'd say a sign! Back ache is apparently often where it starts!! Massive luck and dilating thoughts to you!

Dozygirl: oh piper is such a beaut! Sorry to hear you're not getting much sleep, she's totally worth it though!! hope you're getting looked after!!

Frolicacid: Definitely get on that sofa! You really have been such a busy bee that you need to balance it out with rest! I only finished packing my bag this morning...there's always plenty of time :)

pinkie87 · 14/08/2015 13:30

Eep fanby hope this is it for you!!! You may be one of the 5% to have baby arrive on EDD! Sending lots of positive vibes to you!

Fanby · 14/08/2015 13:35

Hehe that's very true Pinkie, my competitive/OCD side would love that if so! It'll be the best birthday present for DH too! x

Equimum · 14/08/2015 14:20

Keeping everything crossed for you Fanby. It's a difficult balance between keeping active and getting rest. (I only speak from having had a 30ish hour labour last time and really regretting refusing to have a nap in the early stages!). It would certainly be something to hit your EDD and DHs birthday - makes you sound very organised Grin . Still keeping everything crossed that something kicks off soon.

OMC I hope the back ache is the start of things for you.

Dozy, Piper looks gorgeous. Sorry she's not letting you get much sleep. Are you home yet? Make sure you rest and have lots of lovely cuddles.

Frolic, make the most of your sofa day. Do not get into all those jobs until you have watched plenty of rubbish TV and feel thoroughly rested.

I didn't go on the trampoline this morning but I may have sat on the edge of the bouncy castle. There was a gorgeous 7 day old baby old baby there who made my heart melt and made me even more desperate to be having cuddles with my LO. DH is also clearly very excited as he called to tell me that he has bought a cuddly dragon for baby. I think it's for DS1 to give him.

mzzzf · 14/08/2015 15:11

Congratulations Dozy she's lovely and I love the name Piper. I hear you about the lack of sleep too!

Fanby that sounds promising, you're on your way to meeting baby Fanny now - dead exciting / nerve wracking!

I'm having a baby brain moment and although I've just read your comments j cannot bloody remember them! Arrrghh and now j have a crying tree frog on my chest!

I hope you're all doing well, please please please all have an afternoon nap for me if you can! Grin

Equimum · 14/08/2015 17:46

Aw Mzzzf, these early days are tough (as well as magical) aren't they? Can DH take her for a little while so you can have a nap? How did you get on at the doctors yesterday?

mzzzf · 14/08/2015 18:54

Equimum it's so surreal that I'm looking down at this bundle thinking "you're mine", it doesn't seem real at all! Although the well of guilt/envy I have when anybody other than DH tends to her definitely makes it more real. DH is really the only one I feel comfortable leaving her with. It's a bloody contradiction of emotions in these past few weeks I tell ya!

You feel on the verge of tears one minute then smiling at her the next - it's crazy. I really hope I'm doing the best for her but as a FTM I have no idea!!!

OMC1 · 14/08/2015 19:28

Hope everyone is okay!

I still don't know what's happening with me, my back has been hurting all day, and I've got a pain low down in my bump, but feels more like a pulled muscle than anything else, so think I'm just having an achy day!

I know the chance of baby being born today, on their due date, is super slim but I'm still hoping!!

Frolicacid · 14/08/2015 20:46

Happy birthday mr fanby! And possibly happy birthday baby fanby as well. A due date baby would be perfect. I hope it goes / is going well Flowers

You should've got on that trampoline equimum!! Did you get to snuggle the baby? Every time I so much as pass one in the street I get tearful thinking I wish mine was here.

I'm sure the emotions are to be expected mzzf. I'm also sure you are doing the absolute best by your lovely bundle. I will take many more naps in your name Wink

I like the positive thinking OMC. You could still make a due date baby yet! Sorry you are in pain, but back ache sounds promising.

I've had a lovely, lazy day. I can't find series 1 of Nashville anywhere, so have started with pretty little liars on Netflix. Has anyone seen it? It's proper American trash and I'm already hooked.
Oh, and I had about 5 longish, painful period type cramps earlier. Nothing since, but I'm very pleased to have had some sort of a niggle.
