I asked my friend who's a midwife yesterday when the policy is here for how late u can go over and it's 12 days for this area :( I was hoping it was 10. Unless of course you have 'reduced foetal movement' then they'll just book u in for an induction. I don't want to go 12 days over!!

Augustwedding · 05/08/2015 08:48

It's 12 days here to! That's sat for me and induction is booked.

Fanby · 05/08/2015 09:39

Ahh it's amazing all the differences between practises! It's 10 here (although you can go on longer if you want to be monitored etc)...so maximum for me is 20 days, here's hoping for sooner!! Literally had no twinges though Hmm

Equimum · 05/08/2015 11:40

Good luck at the midwife today Dozy.

Good luck for Saturday August. Must be really exciting to know that you will definitely meet your LO very soon.

I still don't know for certain what the policy is here. I know one of the babies in our NCT group last time round was born 14 days after EDD, having been induced the previous day. So maybe it's 12-14 days here? If it's any consolation, both babies I know who were induced at that sort of stage have been hugely laid back. We always joke that the NCT baby just couldn't be bothered to be born Grin. I am really hoping that as DS1 managed to find his way out, that this one will too.

I'm hoping that

Dozygirl · 05/08/2015 12:44

Awwww august I really feel for you getting this far. Must be so frustrating. I hope help come before saturday for you though. You've got 2 days lol.

pinkie87 · 05/08/2015 16:23

Gosh I've missed so much since last week!!

Congratulations mzzzf on your little girls arrival! What an epic labour. Hope you are both doing well.

So I'm on mat leave woo. First day was super productive and managed to wash and sort all baby clothes, put together some garden furniture, clean my car, buy a changing bag and pack hospital bag. And cook dinner. Day 2 less so. Lazed and napped!

Must start the batch cooking tomorrow. I have even bought a second hand chest freezer to stick in the shed so I can pack it with frozen meals.

Had my baby shower on Saturday which was sooo lovely. People were so bloody generous and baby has lots of clothes up to 9 months!

I really should get out of my pj's at some point. But the weather is pants and have no plans so maybe not! I'm only 36+5 so think I have a long wait ahead!

Augustwedding · 05/08/2015 19:06

Thanks dozy I'm actually happy to wait as have impacted ear wax that's causing me some serious pain so got drops to dissolve it

Dozygirl · 05/08/2015 23:23

Well today didn't go to plan! Had midwife. BP has always been borderline high since about 23 weeks but it does come down. Today it was even higher so sent to day unit. Again thought an hour of observation and resting and it'll come down like it always does. But no it didn't so given labetalol. Took a while for it to work and it's down to my borderline high number. So doctor has decided to keep me in for 24 hours for monitoring and has even mentioned induction. I don't want to be induced just yet. I have tickets for an 80s and 90s concert on Friday and vengaboys will be there amongst some others of my favourites so I have to be released tomorrow or I'll cry haha. I always knew when I booked my tickets that at 39 weeks there would be a possibility I may not make it but to have gotten so close and not be able to go is frustrating. So fingers crossed bp does well and they let me go tomorrow. Baby is quite happy and I don't have any other symptoms so if they suggest induction I could always try to persuade them to do it after Friday night maybe.

Frolicacid · 06/08/2015 01:03

oh no dozy. I hope you're ok, and that you get to see the vengaboys!

I'm also in for monitoring. I had a fall after getting back from the funeral tonight. Smack bang onto my bump. Everything looks ok, but the Dr wants me to stay in overnight and have a scan in the morning. I'm soooo tired and they are super busy and taking ages to move me over to the ward.

I hope everyone else is ok? I'm almost out if battery, so will read back and reply properly tomorrow. Sleep tight.

Dozygirl · 06/08/2015 01:14

Oh dear frolic. It's been a day for it it would seem! Hope all is ok. Isn't it frustrating when your battery is low! I didn't take my charger coz figured I wouldn't be in long and my phone nearly died because signal was rubbish so it must have eaten it up searching for signal constantly. I wanted to be talking to people and keeping myself occupied but had to just sit there doing nothing instead.

Was it your new shoes that tripped you up? I can see why people don't get any sleep on wards. It's not particularly busy and I have a bay to myself but I can still hear people mooching around, babies crying, women crying because they're in labour and alarms buzzing.

They wanted yet another wee sample so just went to loo not long after having already been. Anyway after I finished weeing there was loads more liquid coming out. I'm not 100% sure but it didn't seem to be urine. Not sure if it was my waters or not but it felt weird and kept coming out if I squeezed. Tried to feel if it was coming from fanny rather than wee part and it did appear to be but again i could just be imagining it. I haven't felt a pop or anything like people have described. Think it's just my imagination. Got a pad on anyway just in case.

Dozygirl · 06/08/2015 04:33

Definitely think I was imagining it all lol. Must be my mind going into paranoia mode because I don't want to deliver yet!

Frolicacid · 06/08/2015 07:00

I hope you got some sleep dozy?
Not much of it happening here. I've been laying here all night listening to one neighbour's monitor and the other breathe through her contractions. I didn't like the sound of them Confused

Everything seems ok with bump. A bit sore, but no big pain, waters or bleeding overnight. Hopefully I'll get to go home quickly after my scan.

It wasn't the new shoes! I never got to put them on. We were late for church and had to park miles away, so I gave up and waddled there in my birkies. I just tripped on the pavement by my house and went arse over tit big style. I was with my poor dad and I think he's traumatised.

Hope all is ok for everyone.

Dozygirl · 06/08/2015 07:09

Oh dear frolic, glad nothing bad as happened because of it. Must have been frightening.

No sleep here. Disturbed too much and then wheeled another woman in just as I'd gotten to sleep so prob had about 2 hours. Now it's too noisy to try go back to sleep. Just keeping my fingers crossed that they'll let me go home today. Don't wanna be induced when already tired. I'll happily be induced on Saturday if that's what they want but not earlier lol.

Frolicacid · 06/08/2015 08:02

Hopefully we'll both get to go home in a bit.
The lady in the next bed's contractions are getting worse by the sounds of it. Totally freaking me out! I want to go home and pretend I'm not having a baby.

Dozygirl · 06/08/2015 08:32

Haha me too! It still doesnt feel real that this wriggly thing inside me is an actual human being!

OMC1 · 06/08/2015 08:42

I've been lurking for ages, without posting but just wanted to say Dozy and Frolic hope everything is okay and you get to go home and get some sleep soon!

Congratulations to the newest arrivals and hope everyone is doing okay! Can't believe we get to meet our babies this month!!!

sianihedgehog · 06/08/2015 09:26

Oh no, Dozy, hope you get to see the vengaboys!! I'll keep crossing my legs in solidarity! Frolic hope everything is okay!

I've spent the past couple of days packing my life into boxes, which is TOTAL SHIT at 39.5 weeks. I can't lift anything heavy, so I'm having to put the box where I want it and then pack into it, and emptying out the cupboards under the counters was utter hell - can't bend down, can't breathe while sitting, can't get back up while holding anything. Must have taken me about 3h to pack 2 cupboards. Nearly done, though, and we ought to get keys tomorrow!

Still hoping to hang on until after the move, but (TMI!) I think I've started losing my mucous plug - no blood, but massive handful sized gobs of yellowy snot. And I had terrible lower back/period cramps all day yesterday. Just need to last until Tuesday! Hang in there baby!

Dozygirl · 06/08/2015 09:49

Oh Siani sounds like you're pretty much ready for the move as long as baby stays in place. I don't now how you've managed it even just getting dressed can be a hardship for me so goodness knows how you've managed to pack. U deserve some sort of medal and a massive treat from dh when all this is over and done with.

I'm being released yey. Have to come back tomorrow to check bp is staying down on the labetalol and they don't want me to go over my due date so I'll have a date for induction for next week sometime! Hopefully next Saturday would be a good date heehee. I would have liked a natural labour but sort of secretly glad I'm not being left to go 12 days overdue. And I get to dance around to the vengaboys tomorrow as planned whoop.

Fanby · 06/08/2015 10:01

Gosh it's all go go go here!

sianihedgehog: Oh what an utter ballache! You're a rockstar for persevering with packing!

Dozygirl: Oh no!! How are you keeping?? Was it your waters?!?! Have they checked?? Hope you manage to get out of hospital today – and to your concert!! Can't beat a bit of cheese!!

Frolicacid: And you too! Bloomin' eck! I hope everything is ok with you and bump!! On another note, I hope the funeral went as well as these things can...

Augustwedding: How's the ear?

pinkie87: Hope you're enjoying maternity leave! You sound like you're keeping busy!! What dish(es) are you batch cooking?

No news with me, no signs, no niggles, i'm just proper uncomfortable :(. Had some of DH's family over last night so cooked for everyone. His mum stayed over. I woke up at 9am and felt bad as she had already left, I did say I probably wouldn't be up until 9-9:30am as I don't sleep well and tend to get the best hours in once DH leaves for work. I did go into the kitchen though and loads of washing up is left, is it wrong that I feel a bit hacked off that she didn't do it :S! I feel guilty for even writing that, it's only because that is the kind of visitor I don't want when the baby is here – I really thought people lend a hand? Whenever I visit people I always make sure I was up my teacup/breakfast things etc?! I shall blame hormones.
Off into town today to meet a friend for lunch then we're going to see Inside Out – and yay, it's a tube strike GRRRRRR! Must remember to go to primark for big knickers and holland and barrett for raspberry leaf tea – CMON BABY FANBY GET A WRIGGLE ON!

Fanby · 06/08/2015 10:02

Yay Dozy!! You're being released - FANTASTIC! Dance that baby out tomorrow night!! xx

Equimum · 06/08/2015 11:05

Oh Frolic and Dozy, so sorry you've both ended up in hospital; that can't be much fun.

Great that you've been discharged, though, Dozy. I hope your BP stays okayish an that you get to see vengaboys tomorrow.

Frolic, I hope you get to go home soon too. Make sure you get plenty if rest, though. That must have been quite a shock for you (as well as your dad!).

Pinkie, I hope you're having another relaxing day, although it sounds like your baby needs to stay put for a while if you're going to fill a whole freezer with batch cooking Grin. We've managed to fill our freezer with almost exclusively bolognaise, chilli and arabiata sauce! Good job we all like tomato dishes Shock.

August, I really hope your ear is improving. That sounds like the last thing you need right now.

Siani I have nothing but absolute respect for you packing at this stage in pregnancy. I forced DH to pay for packers when we moved around DS1s EDD Smile. I hope your LO is listening to your requests to stay where he/she is.

Fanby, I think we are due date twins, yes (15th), and I in exactly the same position as you. Sorry your guests weren't more helpful - I think it's perfectly reasonable to be a bit peed off about it at this stage in pregnancy.

How are you doing OMC?

Our car seat finally arrived yesterday and DS was giving us a really cute monologue about how we would be taking baby in the car with is, and how baby would be asleep in the back with him. It was all really adorable until he enthusiastically announced that baby would sleep in baby's bed and he would push it over!

Frolicacid · 06/08/2015 13:04

Yay for getting to go home dozy! And fingers crossed you get to see the vengaboys.

I'm still here. Had more monitoring and everything is fine. But they want me to have a scan, which may not be until 4pm. I'm so bored!! Dh has been with me but I've sent him off for a bit now so I can try to sleep.

hope all is good with you?

Wwwww siani, that all sounds a bit promising. well done you for getting stuck into the packing, I doubt I could do it at this stage.
Hoping for a smooth move and smooth birth for you in the next few days.

The funeral was ok, thank you fanby. I'm really glad I managed to go. I'm with you on the no signs front. I've had loads of monitoring now and not a single tightening. After listening to labouring women and crying babies all night I've decided that he can stay in for as long as he likes.
I hope you manage ok with the tube strike. Sounds like a bit of a nightmare. Definitely get those knickers. I've broken into my packet last night and they are super comfy.
I think I'd be a bit pissed off at my mum or mil if they left me a big pile of washing up at this stage as well. You need visitors that help now and after baby arrives.

Your ds sounds adorable equimum. He's going to love being a big bro I'm sure.

I hope everyone else is ok? Please send me some going home vibes if you have s spare few minutes? Smile

Galaxy2014 · 06/08/2015 14:28

Hi All,
I've been lurking in the background but just wanted to say hi Smile I've got 2 weeks to go...all going ok it seems so far! On maternity leave and just pottering about - trying to keep busy!
Dozy Hope you enjoy the concert and have lots of fun - How you manage dancing all night I envy you! I don't think I could lol
Frolic Hope you get to go home today - fingers crossed!

Joskar · 06/08/2015 15:37

Hope Frolic and Dozy are both well. Scary to have to go to hospital.

I've been batch cooking all afternoon. Chicken curry x 6, meatballs x 6 and a ham the size of my head. Should keep us going for a bit once Tiny arrives.

Still have eleventy million things to sort out including mot. So not ready for this baby yet!

Good luck with the packing Siani. I hope your dp realises how heroic you're being. Reckon your exertions are bringing you on...

Fanby · 06/08/2015 19:27

Town was pretty quiet! Had a lovely lunch, made it to Primark and got the biggest pants I could find haha! Also got some raspberry leaf tea so going to get stuck into that! 'Inside Out' was amazing, I cried the whole way through haha, I would blame it on the hormones but Pixar movies always make me cry.
DH got in a sulk when I told him I wasn't doing the washing up, I even dared add in that his mother could/should have done it this morning and he soon shut his mouth and dutifully emptied the dishwasher to fill it with all of the glasses from the side. I'm glad I half said something ;) x

Joskar: Oooh another batch cooker – I need to get in the game!! All sounds delish!

Galaxy2014: Hello!! Glad you're keeping well – hope the last 2 weeks fly by for you :)

Frolicacid: How did the scan go lovely? Keeping everything crossed that all is ok and you manage to get released! Going home vibes winging their way to you!!

Equimum: Mmmm arabiata sauce!! I could totally devour a big bowl of pasta with that tonight!
How cute is your DS! I bet he comes out with some classics!!
