Good evening everyone! I hope you've all had a good Saturday. Dn has gone home now, so I'm flopped on the sofa - tired but happy after a fun filled few days with her. We've been for a really big walk today. Now my fanjo hurts. Hopefully it's a good sign that baby is getting closer to the exit.

Sounds like you've been busy too dozy. It's a fine line, isn't it, between keeping busy enough not to be bored and so busy you get tired. I hope you've had a good sofa day today. Please go and get yourself checked out if you are worried about movement.
Sorry you are feeling down about swelling. I know exactly how you feel. I need a new driving license picture before September, and I know I'm being really vain, but I can't bring myself to go and take one with my big, fat, swollen, freckley moon face. I cannot wait to get my body back.

Wishing Good luck and lots of patience and good humour to you jockstar. I've been really practicing my 'smile and nod' with the in-laws over the past week. I think I've got it down now.

Sorry about your false alarm claire. All the pain will have done something to help the big journey I'm sure. I hope you're feeling ok tonight.

I hope you're ok mzzf and that you have your baby by now.

Good luck to everyone giving birth and moving house over the next few days.

sianihedgehog · 01/08/2015 20:45

Evening all! Thanks for all the good wishes for the move!

Had a fabulous day today dancing my way through the Pride parade with the community group I volunteer with, but the massive delay from a bomb scare killed me. Apparently I can only spend 4.5 hours dancing in platforms and sequins before I need a wee and a sit down at 39 weeks, and I had to step out of the parade before I quite made it to the end. Was a hilarious good time, though - there was a drag queen dressed as a nurse in our group so we spent a lot of time making midwife jokes, and posing for pictures. took my mind off worrying about the move wonderfully. :)

mzzf hope all is going well and you get to meet your little one soon!

Claire sorry about the false alarm - hopefully it's the start of your body preparing and the next one is the real deal.

Dozygirl · 01/08/2015 23:11

Firstly Siani you can fit heels on your feet? And then dance for 4.5 hours? I am seriously impressed!

Fanby there's one in London. It's called ziferblat. I'm sure it's just as good as the Manchester one.

I've had a lovely day sitting on my fat ass watching TV and doing very little. Had an amazon delivery which didn't didn't arrive till 6:30 and dp had just done out so I had to answer the door in my nightie with no bra on and unbrushed hair. I looked an absolute delight haha. But I don't care anymore. It's taken all day but my feet finally look slightly better whoohoo. Baby has been having a little wriggle every now and then some I'm content now.

Fanby your husband sounds amazing! The main thing putting me off batch cooking is the fact I'll have to stand up on my feet while i do it and that hurts. So I think I'm gonna be a terrible girlfriend and batch buy frozen meals haha. I do have my sister and boyfriend coming up for a week in September and her boyfriend is a wonderful cook so he's offered to cook for the week. And then hopefully I'll be fully recovered and will try to get back on track with cooking.

Frolic bad timing with the driving license. I took nearly 2 years to renew mine as I didn't realise it had expired and that u get a massive fine if caught out. Hopefully all our weight will just drop off a week after giving birth. I normally love having photos taken but I hate them now all because of the face.

sianihedgehog · 02/08/2015 11:22

Dozy to be fair they were flat soled disco style platform sandals... And I think I have given myself some mild nerve damage, one of my toes is still numb! I was feeling like a right wimp for having to go home and put my feet up, but one of the other girls has said that she was at home with ice packs on her feet by 5pm, too, so I feel a bit better now!

I'm totally with you on the batch buying ready meals to prepare, too. Bollocks to spending any time I do actually get on cooking and freezing , Sainsbury's have whole factories for that!

Fanby · 02/08/2015 13:15

Morning!! Happy Sunday! Slept very well last night, up a few times but do feel rested, I think that's probably after all of my napping yesterday though! Having another chilled day, although I have achieved altering our curtains which has been on my to do list for months!
I'm watching a programme called 'Baby Faced Mums' which was on channel 5 last week, some of the girls are so young, don't know how they do it! I'm 31 this week and utterly clueless lol!

Dozygirl: Thank you for sharing Ziferblat – next time i'm up over east london i'm taking my friends there, I think it's genius!!
I'm pleased you rested, how are the feet today? Have your movements increased?

sianihedgehog: So glad you enjoyed Pride! A lot of my friends were down there yesterday, looked like a lot of fun! You are proper hardcore!!

Mzzzf: Hope all is ok and you're enjoying snuggles!! xx

Frolicacid · 02/08/2015 13:31

Wow, siani! I am also super impressed with you for all that dancing in heels! Sounds like you had a blast, brilliant!

I'm with you and dozy on the batch cooking. My excuse is that we only have a smallish freezer. But the truth is the freezer needs defrosting and I can't be bothered. We live close to asda, so I'm sure we'll manage.

I really don't know what to do about the driving license thing dozy! vain they've sent a reminder letter, so I don't want to risk the fine. But I hate my face so much at the moment. I have big smudges of freckles that make me look dirty and no amount of make up will cover them. May just have to do it then change it next year.
I hope your feet are still good today.

I'm also having a sofa day today fanby. I need it to recover after my busy few days with dn and the in-laws.
I don't think anyone is that clued up about babies until they have their own. I'm 35 and terrified we won't know how to look after him!

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope mzzf and everyone else about to pop are all ok.

Fanby · 02/08/2015 13:36

Frolic - I recently changed my license (only a provisional!) as I needed it in my married name with new address to book lessons. There was a box you can tick to use the old photo on file - might be worth a look if you're worried, although i'm sure you look lovely - I'm a big freckle fan - call them sun kisses :) x

Frolicacid · 02/08/2015 14:51

Thanks fanby. My last photo is 10 years old, so they won't let me keep it! I don't usually mind the freckles. But there have all splodged together and look more like dirt than sun kisses by now!
I'm being silly and will just put on my big girl pants and get it done this week.

I've just had a lovely nap and now dh has bought me a peanut butter cornetto. Sunday's should always be like this Smile

happygojo · 02/08/2015 15:00

Hey frolic if your passport has been renewed recently, then I think you can use that pic? I just ended up using some passport sized pics I had lying around.

Pretty fed up here, constant tummy ache, trapped wind and constipation/diarrhoea. I also think I have piles..... Awesome Sad

Dozygirl · 02/08/2015 17:42

Mmmm peanut butter cornetto. Sounds amazing. Peanut butter is my all time favorite thing.

No amount of resting has made my feet normal size, theyre just not as bad as when I'd been on them constantly. Even just having a shower in the morning makes them grow. I've succumbed to it now.

I stupidly weighed myself this morning. Big mistake! It did confirm that I was right about feeling fatter recently but I was still shocked. I've only been steadily gaining weight but this was quite a big weight gain. Probably most of it is fluid retention but it probably explains why I feel my face is fat etc now. I just want this baby out now so I can breastfeed and diet diet diet.
Been and bought a load of fruit from the shops. My dp had done done the shopping last time and he's not a fruit person so didn't have any in. I love fruit and I think that's prob another reason why I've not felt great.

I guess when I was work I was probably more active and now I'm being more of a couch potato despite my occasional attempts at going for walks. And I'm going for lots of lunches with friends so that's not helping either. It all just means I've got a big job on my hands to lose it once baby comes and it's gonna be hard but I know I don't want to feel like this anymore so hopefully that will be my motivation.

Babys movements have increased today so that's good. She must have been having a lazy day yesterday with me heehee.

38+2 now, so ready for her to arrive.

Frolicacid · 02/08/2015 19:03

My passport was renewed 5 years ago happy, and I've no pics lying around. I need to get over myself and get it done. Talk about a first world problem!
Sorry you're feeling crap. I've also got piles. They've been internal until about a week ago, but now I have a sticky put one. So not comfortable. I dread what will happen to it during the birth. Eating plenty of prunes is helping things not get any worse.

I feel exactly the same dozy. I've not been on the scales but my legs, arms and face tell me I've put masses of weight on. all the cornetto's don't help. I'm trying to walk every day. But some days, like today, I'm so uncomfortable I don't get very far at all. I'm planning lots of healthy eating and pram walks asap when he arrives. Otherwise I'll still be in my maternity clothes next summer!

happygojo · 02/08/2015 19:59

At the end of the day frolic, everyone looks awful in their driving licence/passport pregnant or not so I wouldn't worry too much. I don't know what is happening with my digestive system at the min. I wish it would make its mind up. I stopped my vitamins as my MW Said they could be giving me IBS but I don't think it has made much of a difference so I am back on them and EPO and raspberry leaf tea.

I weighed myself too but there is no way I could've put 7lbs on in a week! However I have puffed up massively, so fingers crossed it is a lot of fluid retention and it disappears after birth.

39 weeks tomorrow and I am so ready to have this baby now. I am finding this last bit quite hard, probably because I have been quite lucky symptom wise up until now.

Fanby · 02/08/2015 20:02

Ooooh I'm not a fan of peanut butter but when I was at my parents this week mum had some delicious toffee/caramel cornetto type things – you've got me massively craving one now!!

It's totally not a first world problem Frolic lol!! I'd totally be exactly the same! I never get those passport snaps done when I have roots etc! :D

Piles suck! I used to suffer from them about 4/5 years ago for over a year, literally tried every cream under the sun – SO uncomfortable – touch wood i've been ok recently :S here's hoping they don't come back! Hope everyone else's eases up!

You're being a trooper about your feet Dozy! I can't imagine what it must be like day in day out. Should they go back to 'normal' after labour? What's the deal with that? Have you ever suffered pre pregnancy?
As for the weight gain, try not to worry about it too much – I reckon a lot of it is water retention as you say. In the last two weeks I have ballooned so I like to think bump is having a growth spurt and it shouldn't take too long to disappear...:S!

I'm catching up with series 2 of True Detective – a lot better than the first one I think :)

Joskar · 02/08/2015 20:05

i know most people want their body back after pregnancy but I want my bowels back. Every bathroom visit is an adventure!

Equimum · 02/08/2015 20:09

Siani your day at Pride sounds impressive! I hope your foot feels better today. You must live pretty near to me.

I'm so with everyone who has said they have gained a lot if weight recently. I gain a lot early on, then barely gained any for weeks. In the last couple of weeks, though, my weight gain has been shocking. I had hoped to keep doing lots of walking but DSs chicken pox put paid to that Sad.

Dozy, I'm glad your LOs movements have increased again.

happyjo, sorry you're feeling so awful. Maybe all the tummy symptoms are a sign that things will happen soon.

Frolic, your time with your DN sounded exhausting, but also like a lot of fun. Glad you've been able to get some rest to recover.

I seem to have (re)developed thrush, which feels horrid at this stage of pregnancy and I'm worried about still having it when I actually do give birth. I'm hoping my GP will prescribe something without seeing me as I don't have anyone to look after DS if I need to go in.

Dozygirl · 02/08/2015 23:43

Nope never had fluid retention at all pre pregnancy. And even when I was a bit too chubby a few years ago I didn't have a fat face like I do now. Im a very sociable person usually and love being around people but the weight gain is putting me off seeing people. I have still been out and seen people though, I just don't feel like doing it and wanna cry when I think of the weight gain. Must start going for walks again no matter how difficult they are getting now. Every little bit should help hopefully.

Sorry for those suffering with piles. Sounds horrendous. I have occasionally had bleeding after straining too hard but never had any pain or lumps to contend with.

Equimum thrush most definitely does not sound pleasant at this stage. As if you don't have enough to contend with anyway, thrush can be horribley uncomfortable. Hope u get it sorted. U can buy over the counter things if u get desperate.

Fanby 8 can't get into true detective. Tried watching it yesterday but gave up. I miss good girlie programmes like desperate housewives. Could do with something like that to watch. All the things I watch with dp involve super heroes or fighting or apocalypse etc.

Still no news from mzzf?? Hope she's doing ok and we have some baby news soon

Frolicacid · 03/08/2015 07:20

Is Matthew mcconahey in the second series fanby? I enjoyed the first one, mainly because of him.

Thrush is the worst equimum. I've had quite a few doses in recent weeks. Never had to see the gp, just phone up and they've sorted me out a prescription. Hopefully yours will do the same.

Sorry so many of us are feeling fat and uncomfortable and suffering from piles etc. this bit of pregnancy really isn't all that much fun. Hopefully we'll all be in baby snuggle bliss soon.

What is everyone up to today? I think we've all finished work now. We didn't do much housework this weekend, so I'm going to try and catch up with the cleaning. I hope those of you in the south don't struggle too much in the heat. We have shitty rain forecast pretty much all week.

mzzzf · 03/08/2015 07:30

Ola ladies!!!
Mini mzzzf (3.3kg)was born by emcs last night after a horrible 36hrs of non-stop contractions every 4 mins. I'll explain more when I'm discharged as reception is rubbish here.

Very pleased to have her out though and us both safe and well Grin

Dozygirl · 03/08/2015 08:08

Yey congrats mzzf. Can't wait to hear all the gory details. 36 hours sounds horrendous! U poor thing. Hope u get home soon.

Frolic 2nd series doesn't have Matthew in. Got vince vaughn and Colin farell. Was weirdly warm yesterday up in the north. Walked put of friends house at 11 pm and expected to be hit with fresh cool air but it was a warm 20 degrees. Very weird. Felt like being abroad. Had been cloudy all day and raining so didn't make much sense.

My friends are all at a spa today and overnight for a 30th birthday and I really want to go. I'm very jealous. I didn't want to commit to going because it's so close to my due date but now I wish I was. Even though I prob wouldn't enjoy it the same. Part of their deal is afternoon tea tomorrow so I might ring up the venue and see how much it is for me to tag along to that part maybe. They had a maternity special but it was so expensive compared to the deal they've managed to get so I couldn't justify it.

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway · 03/08/2015 08:09

Congratulations mzzzf on mini mzzzf glad to hear you are both are safe and well :)

Frolicacid · 03/08/2015 09:49

Yipppeee!!! Welcome to the world mini mzzf!! Congratulations mum. I hope you're ok xx

Afternoon tea sounds like a good plan dozy. Hopefully you can book for just that.
It's pretty warm here too, just grey and drizzly as well. I've just been back to sleep and woke up covered in sweat. Manky! Shame I'm not passing maccy d's for work, a frozen lemonade would do me right about now.

Fanby · 03/08/2015 09:58

mzzzf: CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lovely, amazing news! Glad you're both safe and well after your epic labour!

Frolicacid: No plans for me today, I think i'm going to get stuck into netflix...currently watching 'Labour Pains' with Lindsay Lohan, it's actually pretty funny...

Dozygirl: Getting used to the pregnancy body changes is a headfuck for sure. I'm glad it's not stopping you from being social though – although shame about the spa today. Seeing if you can join in the afternoon tea sounds like a great plan! Afternoon tea is one of my favourite things!!
I miss a girlie programme too! There hasn't been anything good on for a while, I started Hart of Dixie a while ago, but it's still no Gossip Girl/O.C etc :)

Equimum: Oh poor you! Thrush is the worst, can't imagine what it's like to have when pregnant

Joskar · 03/08/2015 10:34

Hurrah! Congratulations Mzzf!

Equimum · 03/08/2015 13:16

Congratulations Mzzzf. I hope you are not too uncomfortable and that you are enjoying lots if snuggles.

Dozy sorry you have missed out on your girly trip to the spa. Can you do something this afternoon that feels like a personal treat?

Luckily my GP agreed to prescribe some treatment without seeing me. Thanks for all your kind words ladies.

All the talk about piles has reminded me to slip a tub of dates into my hospital bag. I hope no-one is getting too much pain from them.

I'm enjoying another day if a Cbeebies marathon, punctuated with playing in the sand put, play doh, wooden trains, toilet roll mobster construction......and I may nip out for a pint if milk when DH gets home from work. Hoping DS will decide to have a nap this afternoon so I can watch some proper TV, erm, I mean, do some housework Grin.

Dozygirl · 03/08/2015 13:59

Whoop rang up spa hotel and booked onto the afternoon part of their trip so don't have to miss out completely. And it was only 7.50 so a bargain.

No treats today equimum but I did go back to sleep after writing that earlier message till 11am so that's a treat in itself. I'm following the advice of sleep while u can that everyone says after they've had a baby haha. Which I guess is where you're at, I think u should definitely have a nap and watch TV

Just started watching Nashville to see if that's any good. No fighting and guns in and has music so gotta be a winner. I'm so over all the violence and see in the programmes dp warches lol.

Still gotta do a bit of housework today though. A little bit each day keeps me on top of it though.
