Thank you and good luck! Sounds stupid but could u tell me how they place you. I have pgp and find it painful to have legs too far apart!

Dozygirl · 24/07/2015 10:19

Good luck with your sweep mzzf.

Lily has anything started happening post mucous plug loss?

Spent last night at a friends who has a 9 week old baby. Told her to be all positive about baby things in front of dp. She only had positive things to say anyway. I'd told her about what dp had said the other night about being terrified but when u saw him with the baby he didn't look so terrified. She thinks he'll be fine. I'm sure he will be too once she comes :) feeling better about it all now.

clairexxx · 24/07/2015 10:20

Sorry I've been away from this board again. I have been reading all the messages. Just trying to keep really busy at the moment finishing off the last of the renovation jobs. Well, I'm watching and giving orders!

I'm 37 weeks now and the midwife told me I'm getting all the signs that baby could be on her way soon. I've been getting shooting pains in my cervix but her head is 3/5 engaged so that is probably why. I've been having lots of Braxton Hicks and last night the back ache and period pain started and won't ease off. My bump is lower too.

It's great to see that babies have started arriving!

Good luck for everyone having sweeps.

Frolicacid · 24/07/2015 11:14

Good morning!!

How are you feeling today lily? Any more signs since the show? You must be on constant bump / kinicker watch!

Good luck with the sweep mzzf. Let's hope it kicks things off for you.

Glad your dh seems better dozy. They just need to rant sometimes I think. How lovely to have little baby snugged as well.

Hi claire! It all sounds nice and promising for you. I hope the renovations are going well.

So, another Friday's here ladies - another week closer to meeting our bundles. I'm 36 weeks today, it feels like a much better number than 35.
I'm enjoying being very lazy so far on my first day at home. I've had a big lie in and now I'm eating left over Chineese for breakfast Blush. Dh insisted on a take away to celebrate my finishing work last night, so I'm saving the Stilton for later.
Have a great day everyone.

Lilydreams · 24/07/2015 13:15

Frolic and Dozy- nope nothing further here! In fact yesterday I felt the most comfortable I've felt in a few weeks- had no period type pains or standby fanjo pains like I've been getting for the last few weeks so it was a bit bizarre! Today though they are back along with bit of back ache but nothing that I haven't been getting anyways for a few weeks so I think I'm gonna be one of those that takes a couple of weeks after it going! Just been to hairdressers and she said she had a client in with a 12 week old baby yesterday who she last saw when she was ready for dropping and had the baby the day after her appointment so I'm hoping there's not a pattern there! Bump seemed significantly lower when I first got up this morning although appears to have gone a little higher again- think he's just having fun in there messing with my head! Have had a few sharper pains but I think they were more poo pains Blush You are right though Frolic I'm analysing every little thing now- think I need to forget about it and continue either my 'it will be another week or so' attitude!

Dozy- glad you DH was good round your friends baby and that you are feeling abit more reassured.

Claire- sounds like your moving in the right direction too yay!

Only had a bowl of cereal today as been at hairdressers so off to get some lunch- desperate for a costa mozzarella and ham panini with pesto but too hungry to wait till I get into town so will make do with some cheese on toast methinks!

mzzzf · 24/07/2015 14:15

Sooooo my appt was crappy and confusing the say the least Sad

Everything is ok but my cervix is too high up to do a sweep so I didn't end up having one. Position wise it's the same as for a smear test, on your back, feet together and knees dropped down. Could be painful if you have spd so be careful ladies!

The doctor was very reluctant to book me in for an induction as he thinks I'm ok to go another 2 weeks safely, despite the fact that every consultant I've seen beforehand has wanted me to not go over... So I pushed for an induction booking for next Friday (I'll be 40,5) although this is not set in stone and may be cancelled by the hospital at any point - grrrrr!!

Also I thought my waters had gone this morning, proper feeling of flooding and a continue of dripping into the loo. Plus it was clear and didn't smell like wee - but when he was doing my internal this morning he said I haven't ruptured my membranes so I must have just been incontinent this morning. Which is bollocks as I hand on heart KNOW that it wasn't wee, my DH even sniffed my undies (true love) and said it didn't smell like wee, it was more sweet smelling. Added to that I felt awful this morning, like proper faint and wobbly and had 2 bouts of loose stools overnight - all labour signs right?!

So now I'm sitting at home, wondering what's happening, thinking whether I need to book into another hospital in Glasgow in case I do go over and generally just in a bit of a crappy mood. So really now I'm waiting for something concrete like contractions to happen Confused

Augustwedding · 24/07/2015 18:42

Thanks mzzzf, sorry didn't work out for you but useful info!

Hope the induction goes ahead as planned xx

Lilydreams · 24/07/2015 19:51

Oh mzzf I'm sorry! They all really do sound like labour signs- you never know your doc could be wrong like my MW was?! Are you still leaking now? If so surely is waters I think you'd realise if you kept repeatedly pissing yourself!! If that's the case can you not go up/ ring l&d for a second opinion? At my labour workshop MW said to attend if waters go even if no contractions etc as they would check to ensure you didn't go to long without labour for infection risk etc. I also believe that a little mentioned thing is that there are 2 types of waters and one can go without the other. Hope you get somewhere soon- hopefully you'll not read this because your in labour at hospital!!

Iwishicouldflyfarfaraway · 24/07/2015 20:15

Mzzf it could be the hind waters leaking , if your worried wear a pad and then if you do end up at the hospital , I think they can test it somehow . I know in my last pregnancy the midwife went off with the pad & came back and confirmed it was waters so assume there was some kind of test she did.

mzzzf · 24/07/2015 20:27

I did go back in and they still hold firm that it isn't my waters, but I know what I experienced and I'm thinking it was hind waters, I'm going to wear a pad tonight and see. Buuuut the reason I went back in was for fetal monitoring, little one had been quiet since 3am this morning and no amount of ice water and sugar got her going. And for the first half of the monitoring she was very quiet but then picked up thankfully! So I'm feeling glad all is ok in there, and happy that I've got an induction booked in for next Friday but I'm desperately hoping I do it au natural before then.

And OMG I'm still aching after the internal, it wasn't painful at the time but soooo achey - just a pre warning ladies!!

mzzzf · 24/07/2015 20:28

And a genuine thanks for the concern and support ladies, it's so nice to not be alone going through this!!

Frolicacid · 24/07/2015 21:59

Glad you are feeling good today lily. It must be so hard not to over analyse every twinge!

Sorry you've had a crappy day mzzf. I don't know that much about waters and cervixes, so don't have much useful advice. But lots of FlowersFlowersCakeCake for you. Plenty can happen in a week, and if it doesn't at least you know what the next step will be. Thinking of you.

I've had a mega lazy pj day. A perfect start to the time off. And the pram arrived, so had a bit of a play with that tonight. Happy Friday everyone Smile

Dozygirl · 25/07/2015 09:24

How u feeling today mzzf? Sorry the appointment didn't go as u wanted. I'd like to be able to request an induction after a week over due as I really really don't wanna go over by 2 weeks or however long it is they leave u here. It's my worse fear. I'd love her to come a week early if I had a choice lol. Have u stopped aching now post internal?

Frolic yey for a lazy pj day. I sort of has one of those but still cleaned the kitchen because dp was busy sorting out the garage so I felt guilty sat on my bum watching movies even though I wanted to rest my fat feet as they hasn't gone down overnight. Exciting about the pram. I want to get mine back out of the box but don't know when is an appropriate time to have it up to play with lol.

Claire sounds promising. I want more symptoms to start. I'm 37 weeks too.

clairexxx · 25/07/2015 10:57

Hope your feeling better today Mzzf. I've had 2 internal examinations so far to see if I was dilating. The first one was painful but I hardly felt the second one.

Dozy, let's hope our babies arrive on time. I really don't want to go overdue either. I was so uncomfortable yesterday with all the aches and pains. Less uncomfortable today but I feel tired.

It's so hard not to analyse every ache and pain!

mzzzf · 25/07/2015 18:22

Not going to lie ladies but I'm still aching from the internal - it sucks!!

My official EDD is tomorrow and today I've mostly been bouncing on my gym ball and dozing. DH is currently rustling up a curry too!!

I had another bit of watery leakage after an hour of bouncing - deffo not wee! But since then nothing at all. Will be trying some more bouncing later as clearly something is moving/flowing in there!!! It cannot be just a 'pool' of very very watery discharge can it?!

clairexxx · 25/07/2015 19:33

Sorry to hear you are still aching Mzzf. Really hope it eases for you soon. I was getting very watery discharge (definitely not wee!) last week. I was soaking a pad ever half an hour and in the end asked the midwife for advice. I was seen and given an internal but apparently it wasn't my waters. She didn't give a reason as to what it was other than its normal during pregnancy! Let's hope yours is your waters breaking.

How is everyone today? After feeling so uncomfortable and sore yesterday the only pains I've been getting is mild back ache and period pains which started about half an hour ago. Hoping it will ease off soon.

mzzzf · 25/07/2015 21:27

That's good to know you had similar Claire. Really keen to get a wriggle on with meeting her now! You sound like you're progressing though, I've no BH or pains/aches that are out if the ordinary.

Keep us posted!!!!

clairexxx · 25/07/2015 22:12

Hopefully you will meet her very soon Mzzzf! Fingers crossed. I still have 2 and a half weeks to my due date so I would be surprised if my girl arrives early. It's so hard not to get excited when I've been getting so many signs!

Frolicacid · 26/07/2015 10:48

Happy official edd mzzf!!! Eviction day must be around the corner.
How are you feeling? All good I hope. Fingers crossed for a nice, timely arrival.
Sorry you've been feeling sore after the sweep. All of my friends seem to think that they never work, so I don't know yet if I'll have one if offered. But, then again, I'll probably be so desperate in a few weeks that I'll try anything.

I'm with you dozy and claire about not wanting to go over. But my original dates put me at the end of August, so I think I'll still be here in September.

How's everyone doing today? We have horrible, rainy weather. I'm going to go shopping and do some cleaning i think.
I had a great day yesterday watching a musical and having dinner out with my mum, sister and niece. I was shattered last night and really uncomfortable. I think / hope baby has engaged a bit because I had really bad shooting and period type pains down low for about an hour. They made me wince quite a bit. Dh's face was a picture - I think he's getting a bit edgy about it all kicking off now.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone Smile

clairexxx · 26/07/2015 10:59

Hope your less uncomfortable today Frolic. I'm so glad you mentioned the shooting pains as that's exactly what I've been getting on and off. Sometimes they are bad enough to make me cry out! They were happening at my midwife appointment and sure enough the baby's head is 3/5 engaged. I've been having them for about a month now and the midwife said it is the head popping in and out of the pelvis.

Think I shall get some cleaning done today. Trying my hardest to keep on top of the housework as when I do go into labour my parents will be coming to pick up my dog and my neighbour will be looking after my rabbits. I just want to keep everything in order so it's not messy for when we come out of hospital.

Several friends have had babies in the last few weeks and were home again just a few hours after giving birth! The midwife said they don't keep you in long these days.

Fanby · 26/07/2015 11:47

Morning people, babies and bumps!! I've missed out on loads, lots of news to catch up on, but i'll try and keep it short!

Frolicacid: Yay for finishing work!! Enjoy your shopping trip, it's pouring down here too.

Lilydreams: so glad baby IS head down, your mothers instinct is well under way! And you lost your plug!! This is epic!!! Any twinges?

Dozygirl: Sorry about the panic after DH's comments. Open discussions are a great way forward and as you say i'm sure he'll be fine once baby is here!! I'd get the pram out now and have a play, no reason why not too!

mzzzf: HAPPY EDD!! That's super exciting about a date for induction, although I'm sorry you're feeling uncomfortable :( Hopefully you managed a good nights sleep?

I haven't been up to much. I met up with my NCT girls again on Friday which was lovely, really nice to get to know them more before the babies arrive. Yesterday we went to a friends BBQ and then to the pub, managed to stay out until gone midnight so I was very pleased with myself :D Have been feeling a little anxious as bump was a lot quieter yesterday, but still some movement, especially when I was in the bath but just not her usual wriggly bean self. This morning i've barely felt anything again but I had a big bowl of frosties and she had a little bout of the hiccups but still no kicks. I'm not sure whether my braxton hicks have been so bad the days previously i'm now just used to more movement/pain? Eshk! I really wanted to avoid worry in the last few weeks...do I phone the midwife or not? I have felt some little tickles?
I was also brave enough to watch my first ever OBEM – wasn't as bad as I thought – sobbed like a baby though!!

clairexxx · 26/07/2015 12:24

Fanby I've been getting lots of Braxton Hicks too, every 5 mins at one point for over an hour and on and off through out the day. I couldn't feel any kicks like I normally do so I rang the midwife for advice. I was put on the monitor and baby was kicking away! I just couldn't feel them due to the Braxton Hicks. I apologised to the midwife but she was lovely and told me to always phone for advice as that's what they are there for. Since then I always phone now if I feel worried and they are more than happy to give me advice.

I'm getting a lot of Braxton Hicks right now! They seem to have moved lower down too. I'm not in any pain but feels very tight! My hubby has taken over the housework so I can lie down as it seems to help if I lie on my left side.

Fanby · 26/07/2015 12:56

Ahh that's positive Claire! I'm glad you got the reassurance. Maybe I will give them a ring and see what they say. I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing. I'm glad they gave you the all clear, honestly can't believe the end is in sight for us all!!

Honestly it was just a week ago that I was like, nope, no braxton hicks for me but wow don't they come in waves! I'm guessing baby is really low down and sometimes it feels so uncomfortable, sounds weird and maybe a bit TMI but the only way I can describe it is when you put a tampon in 'wrong' and it feels like it's fallen out a bit lol Wink

sianihedgehog · 26/07/2015 18:47

I'm the only one praying that baby goes overdue then, aren't I? I just can't see how I'll cope with managing the house move and a newborn otherwise!
I'm going to sleep every night crossing my fingers and hoping it all waits until I've done all the things!!

Fanby · 26/07/2015 20:25

I have 2 weeks and 6 days left Siani-you can have some of my time if you like Wink?
