Lily massive congratulations! U must feel so proud. Very well done.

Frolic sorry to hear about your grandmother. Today will be tough. Thinking of u.

Fanby · 18/07/2015 08:17

Good morning folks!

Lilydreams: Ahh CONGRATULATIONS you smartie! That's amazing!! I hope you've enjoyed some kind of celebration (and not just of the pink wafter variety :))on your excellent results!!!! I think you deserve a long nap today after lack of sleep!

Dozygirl: Welcome new member to shitty sleep club! No seriously, that sucks, hope you're not too tired from it. Glad your placenta has moved, did you have one of those ones that is low at the front? My friend who is due the week before me had one of those, and hers moved too, hurrah! I like the terminology of 'eviction', totally going to be using that!!
Hope you have a lovely weekend away with the family! Well done for taking all your stuff, I would too (if I had packed our hospital bags...), it truly would be sod's law if not!!

mzzzf: Ahh look at all these signs!! I can't believe you saw a shooting star, hope you made a wish!!
She waved at you!! That's amazing :D I'm not a hospital lover at the best of times, but must say I feel really comfortable there, all the staff have been so lovely. I'm not really a sickly person (luckily) so pre pregnancy had only ever been to A&E there with DH on several occasions (football and post stag do's!) and they were all great then too!
I bloody hope you opened the bourbons, one of my favourite biscuits, esp when dunked in tea.

Frolicacid: Oh Frolic, that's a tough day ahead. Sending positive vibes to you and your family.
Random, but I always love how you sign off at the end of the week with 'another week closer to meeting our babies', always makes me really smile xx

Lilydreams · 18/07/2015 09:31

Ahhh thanks everyone! Yes we went for a lovely meal earlier in the week to celebrate- was missing some bubbly though but there'll be plenty of time for that post baby!

Frolic- sorry you've got a hard day ahead and especially on a shit sleep will probably make you more emotional too- sending happy vibes.

mzzzf · 18/07/2015 10:04

Well done Lily - getting a first is awesome!

Frolic, try and keep your chin up missus with I this emotional day ahead, I feel for you.

I managed to tot up 4.5hrs sleep last night, seems like a consistent theme. Although today I have no time for a nap, but that might work in my favour as I could just be ridiculously tired tonight and crash out.

As for symptoms, not a bloody sausage!!! Arrrgh I really want her to come soon. I know I'm not technically over yet (39w this weekend) but I do hate the waiting and feel like "let's do this already"!!

Also the bourbons remain intact, I had a Wispa last night instead Grin

Fanby · 18/07/2015 12:10

Nothing to add apart from I bloody love a Wispa, all time favourite chocolate, so glad they bought them back! x

Ohhhh wispas are good! I have a whole bag of the bites at the cinema on Tuesday! Got a munch on today- been up in the attic packing/ binning things and came down at 2.30 realising we hadn't had any lunch etc! I'd only had cereal all day!! So had a bacon butty, other half of the pink wafers and 6 jammy dodgers! Just come round from listening to my hypno relaxation tape and I'm hungry again! How I don't know!! Glad we've arranged to go to SIL's for a curry in a bit!

Note to self: make sure there is no other track ready to come on after relaxation track- was in lounge and DH had ps on so out earphones in and cranked it right up I was soooo relaxed and then a running track from 'eat, sleep, rave, repeat' came blasting on- how I didn't go into labour I don't know!!!! Grin

Rang to confirm house build still in target today and we are going for our 'new home tour' either weds or thurs this week and carpets are being fitted thurs so most Defo is on target carpets are usually last to be done!! Eeeek!! All very real now so best go get more packing done! Might scoff a blueberry muffin first though Blush

Fanby · 19/07/2015 03:54

Ahh that's so exciting about your new home!! Glad it's all progressing nicely!
We sound like we've had the same diet today Wink, went to the Lambeth country fair where I devoured a dirty hot dog and chips, then onto a BBQ at a friends followed by a curry!! This might be why I can't sleep tonight with acid reflux and terrible wind haha!
I'm so hot, I've just come into the spare room to see if I can get some zzzz's. This insomnia is killing me. Supposed to be going to the cinema this morning if the film is crap can always catch up in there Wink

mzzzf · 19/07/2015 07:19

Another early morning for me. I was wide awake at 5am, tried to lay and relax for a bit but no joy so I've got up and 'accidentally' eaten 3 little individual cherry bake well cakes! Haha!
Yesterday DH and I went to a bit of a social gathering at his old work place, it was lovely weather, free bar, great love music etc etc but I only managed 4hrs as my feet became so uncomfy I almost cried. Also my whole body was just so achey. I am so at maximum capacity at the moment!! DH was lovely and was happy to ditch out early to come back and eat our leftover picnic food in our pjs - love him!
Today is mostly chilling out, trying to find my ankles and relaxing as I'm officially 39 weeks today!

Happy Sunday folks Grin

Lilydreams · 19/07/2015 07:53

Oh Fanby- sorry your munchies kept you up- I also had stupid wake ups through the night again but thankfully not with heartburn- one thing I seem to have avoided all pregnancy! Good shout on the spare room move- if only we hadn't dismantled the bed in ours already!! I didn't think that through!

Mzzf- love your accidental breakfast!! Coming home to finish your picnic in your pjs sounds just about the cutest thing ever how nice!! Sorry your feeling so uncomfy but 39 weeks wow you can see the finish line!! I'm getting to the fed up point now in the last few days and I've been off work but got 4 days in this week and not looking forward to it at all! Another 3 next week then in done thank god! Hopefully focusing on the move etc will help it go quickly!

More packing to do today, although we got so much done yesterday there should be time for a chill thankfully!!

Equimum · 19/07/2015 17:35

Lily congratulations on your degree result, and great news about your house. You have so many exciting things going on right now!

I'm sending lots of sleeping dust to everyone who is currently struggling on that front. So far, I've been quite lucky on that front, but I am struggling to stay awake at points through the day. DS has woken me up a couple of time this week while we have been having cuddles on the sofa Blush.

Mzzzf, that final stretch is so tough. I really hope your little one doesn't keep you waiting too long.

Congratulations LAM. It's really exciting to have babies appearing already.

Reading how many bits of clothing some of you have got, I suddenly feel really unprepared. We only have about 10-12 sleepsuits, 12-15 bodysuits and two romper in new born size (and only about three things aren't left over from DS). I keep reminding myself that DS only wore them for a very short period so there really is no point in buying any more for now.

In nesting news this week DH has built a shed! I know that may not sound like baby preparation, but it has freed up a whole cupboard in the room that the boys will eventually share. I have already been filling the top shelf with nicely labelled boxes of baby clothes in bigger sizes so that they are easily accessible when the time comes.

Dozygirl · 19/07/2015 17:57

Equimum that's more than I have in newborn size. I've not bought all that much because figured they won't be in them for long and was worried I'd have a big baby that didn't fit them anyway so will prob jus buy some more after baby comes. Although I did order some more from mothercare in the sale that I need to remember to pick up oops.

Frolicacid · 19/07/2015 18:11

Thanks for your lovely words yesterday everyone. It was actually quite a nice day in one way. Lots of great memories of a wonderful lady.

I'm totally shattered now as my dsis, her dh and two little nieces came to stay at ours after. Loads of fun with the little ones, but now i'm tired and achey. Hats off to you doing this pregnant thing when you already have kids. You must be exhausted!
I've also ate too much crap and have bad heartburn. And I've joined the swollen feet club!

My weeks turn on a Friday fanby. So I do always think I'm a week closer to meeting him when it comes around Smile

Enjoy your chilled day today mzzf. Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday. How is the symptom spotting going? Is it like the 2 week wait, but a million times worse? I know I'm going to be terrible when I get past full term.
I love wispa's too!

I hope the packing is going well lily. How exciting. One amazing tip we had when moving house was to set the bed up first and make it. Then you can get on with the day knowing that when it's time to stop, you can just flop into it. I rely appreciated not having to deal with duvets after a long day unpacking.

I don't have that many newborn clothes equimum. My bump is so big and midwife thinks he'll be a big baby so I'm not convinced he'll need it for that long. Let's hope she's wrong Wink

I hope you've all had a great Sunday. Bath and early night is the plan here. I'm so excited that this will be my last Monday at work for a long time!

Fanby · 19/07/2015 20:51

Evening!!! Gosh I am pooped!! Managed not to have a nap today so hoping to sleep well tonight, fingers crossed!
I don't know where today has gone! Cinema was good, had a lovely alfresco lunch in the garden with DH (we're friends again now lol). We finally took the pram and all the bits and pieces out of their boxes. Now I thought we'd picked a light one, honestly I don't know if I'm just a weed but I swear I need to get some muscles pronto lol. DH and I were shattered and the baby isn't even in it yet haha. Then before I knew it was time to head back to the hospital for the 3D scan! It was so lovely!! I'm really pleased we did it actually, she was being naughty with her arm over her face and then turned towards my back but we managed to move her. She looks so peaceful and cute, she was sucking her fingers which DH apparently used to do as a baby. I'll try and put a pic up but I'm on my phone...

Mzzzf: Happy 39weeks, ahhhhhh!! Your pj picnic sounds sooooo lovely!! I want to do that!!

Lily: we've only just got our spare room back! It's been full of junk/used as storage due to the house projects we've had on. Last night will be the only time I get to use it as today it's now full of all the pram kit and caboodle lol.

Equimum: tbh I think we have the same amount of clothes as you! Hardly anything (if anything) in newborn!! I still really need to pack the hospital bag lol!
That's excellent news on the shed!! We'd love a new one! We did look into it a couple months ago and to put electrics in so we could put a tumble drier in there but all the electric quotes came back so high we've put it on the back burner for now.

Frolic: so glad everything went ok yesterday. I think you definitely deserve that bath and early bed!! Wishing you a lovely dream filled sleep!!

Dozygirl · 19/07/2015 23:46

Glad the scan went well fanby. Hopefully we'll get to see the pic. I just go on mumsnet on the Internet part of my phone and u can upload the photo on there straight away no problems. I don't have the app but seems photos don't work on that.

Glad you've made up with dh too. Get practising with the pram lots before baby comes. Last thing u wanna be doing is standing in a car park or somewhere struggling to put the pram up or down with everyone watching. I know I need to start doing the same. I've not even tried it in the boot yet. I've had it from so early on that unpacked it back away and now I don't know when the appropriate time is to put it back up.

I'm having a lovely weekend away in durham with dps family. Done a fair bit of walking but it's not been too taxing. Just get uncomfortable by the end of the day. Baby has been pretty quiet today but now I've gotten into bed she's started having a few wriggles so I can sleep in peace now. I hate the quiet days. She's not a big wriggler anyway but I do start worrying when I've been busy all day so haven't had chance to concentrate on her. Plus being away from home I don't really want to traipse to an unknown hospital etc. So ready for her to arrive now so I can see her in the flesh and know she's ok. Bet that brings a whole new set of worries though!

pinkie87 · 20/07/2015 08:43

Happy monday morning ladies! I always miss SO much chat over the weekend, never get a chance to come on here! As usual, I will catch up properly later, but huge congrats lily on your 1st class honours!!!

I have had a crap night's sleep, can I come back to the club please? Woke up at 4:45 to pee and couldn't get back to sleep til about 6 (alarm goes off at half 6) then when I did finally fall asleep I dreamt I got stabbed in the back by some random boys, and they left my on the door step outside my mum's house, was bloody awful!

In better news, I had a super busy sociable weekend, which was great fun but I'm shattered now. Got to see some old friends from my last job and meet one of their new babies, a 7 week old little boy. She struggled to conceive for years and now she seems a great mum so that was lovely! Then Saturday my best friend and her partner (who's my hubby's best friend) came down, they have also struggled to conceive for the past year so I've been feeling weird/guilty (even though I shouldn't) for getting pregnant so quick. Anyway, she's pregnant now too!! Super happy for her!

Saw MW saturday morning, baby is head down but lying with his back on the right hand side. They want me to start trying to shift him to the left but he's been there since the 20 week scan so not sure that's likely! Cue lots of birthing ball bouncing and getting on my hands and knees!

Sunday another catch up with an old friend and then dinner with my brother and SIL. So obviously lots of eating out (expensive and bad for me) but I don't even care, as soon I will be a zombified mummy covered in baby sick and socialising will be so much harder!

Hope you've all had a lovely weekend, and I will try and catch up properly today. 10 working days left! Cannot wait to finish!!

mzzzf · 20/07/2015 15:11

Welcome back to the shit sleep club Pinkie - it sucks doesn't it?! DH and I tried to swap sides in bed last night to see if that would help at all, but I was literally stuck like a weeble trying to roll over in the middle of the night as I had nothing to grab onto!! Back to normal tonight I reckon.

Glad there's been lots of lovely weekends - soon we'll be baby slaves!

I've been bouncing on the ball too, along with the pelvic tilts and circles in the vain hope of hurrying this little lady out into the world - no joy as yet!! It's bad that I'm hoping she comes out now, she's not officially due until Sunday. Arrrrgh I have a stretch and sweep booked for this Friday - I keep forgetting about that!!

Fanby · 20/07/2015 16:06

Afternoon!! Had a lovely day so far! Met up with a few of my NCT girls for a cuppa this morning and a bit of shopping! Genuinely so chuffed with the group, think we've done very well. Then the cot mobile arrived so put that up in the nursery – slowly taking shape! DH has picked up our 'click and collect' stuff from John Lewis so baby will finally have a mattress to sleep on, hurrah! Think we're there now! I've just found that Sky Box Sets has one of my all time favourite shows on, The Amazing Race, so not planning on moving from the sofa for the next couple of days :D

Mzzf: That's a really good idea about swapping bed sides – might contemplate that if the insomnia doesn't shift. Is it wrong and a bit gross that i'm intrigued for you to tell us how the sweep goes? Sorry, and I probably will ask questions that you of course don't have to answer lol!!

pinkie87: I think I may have stolen your sleep, I slept amazingly last night – i'm sure it's a one off, but I didn't get up for a wee once, NOT ONCE ladies!! That dream is horrendous, you poor thing! Really, really not nice at all :(.
Lovely weekend though! Glad you got all the cuddles and a good dose of oxytocin! Great news for all of your friends too! We've got a couple of couple friends who are ttc, one of the girls has really distanced herself which is so sad and makes me feel guilty, i'm keeping everything crossed for them (I hope that doesn't sound patronising), she really will make an excellent mummy.

Dozygirl: So glad you're having a lovely holiday! Try not to worry about the movements too much (I know easier said than done!), perhaps you've been so busy you might miss an odd movement too. Remember there's not as much space!
Ah didn't know you could upload photos that way! I do find being on my laptop easier – the app is ok, but it does crash a lot! I'm totally going to be that person that can't collapse the pram lol! I'm currently a non driver but even going into cafes etc I'm going to have to get some practise in pronto!

Fanby · 20/07/2015 16:11

And here she is!! :) little piglet! x

August 2015 Part 4
mzzzf · 20/07/2015 16:58

Oh Fanby that's so clear - and on colour too! Amazing!!!! Can't you even believe that's inside you?! Grin

Fanby · 20/07/2015 17:00

Not at all!! It's completely surreal! We took that photo from the monitor but they also printed some black and white ones for us which was lovely. My mum thinks she looks just like I did. I literally am so excited to meet her now!! Need those cuddles in my life!! xx

Frolicacid · 20/07/2015 18:09

How cute is she fanby! I bet you can't wait to meet her now. I'm quite jealous of all of you who've got to see their babies again. We've not seen him since 20 weeks. I wish we'd booked a 3/4d scan now. Hopefully he won't keep us waiting too long.
Sounds like you've had a lovely few days of socialising and sorting stuff. And a good night's sleep! I'm sleeping ok, but needing at least 2 wee wake up's.

Glad you are having a nice time away dozy. It's so hard not to worry about movement. I was the same yesterday after a busy weekend. I hope you've had plenty of kicks today.

Sorry your sleep is crap pinkie. Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. Did it feel weird to cuddle your friends baby knowing you have one in your belly?
I've not seen my midwife for a few weeks, but think my baby is all on the left. That's where I feel solid bits that I think are back / bum and then the majority of kicks seem to be up on my right. Are they supposed to be more in the middle? I'm pretty sure his head is down. It was at my last appointment and I can feel something close to the exit when i walk!

Yay to 10 working days as well. I'm down to 3 now! I can't quite believe it. I felt a few weeks ago that I had so much to do and would never get to the end. I'm almost all sorted now. Just a few letters to send and files to tidy. I cannot wait to switch the alarm off!

I hope Monday has been good for everyone. Is anyone taking supplements yet? I'm drinking raspberry leaf tea and taking the capsules. I've also started to take epo after seeing a thread on here about it over the weekend. Every little helps - even just for the placebo effect Wink

Fanby · 20/07/2015 19:54

When's your next scan Frolic? In a couple of weeks? I think you're due a fortnight or so after me?
You sound like the same positioning as me, back/bum on the left, legs on the right etc which all sounds very positive.
I bet you're so excited to finish work!!
I haven't started on the supplements, I think I should as i'm kind of done with the pregnancy thang now...

Frolicacid · 20/07/2015 20:42

Have a look at the epo thread that was on the pregnancy board a few days ago fanby. It was an old one, but someone resurrected it. Many people advocating a capsule or two up the fanjo at term. Might be worth a try? How many weeks are you now?
I don't know if you remember from the ttc buses, but I took loads of supplements the month we conceived. I'm still sceptical, but figured that if they helped on the way in, they might help on the way out.

I don't get another scan. They don't do them past 20 weeks unless there is a concern. I might get one if I still measure big. But I was back in the normal range last time, so I'm not sure now. I do feel like I've had another big growth spurt this week. I'm 35+4 now. The skin on my bump, especially around the belly button is really sore and stretched, especially when little one sticks his bum out and does a sort of twerking dance. Very cute, but not fun for me!
Glad you think the position is good. I've been worried about him not being in the middle.

I really can't wait to finish work now - not least because I'm too big for most of my work maternity clothes.

mzzzf · 20/07/2015 22:56

My brain has gone so can't remember which one of you guys has the platelets issue (fanby/frolic?) but be careful with EPO as whilst it's not specifically proven to do the cervix thing it is linked with increased bleeding in those with blood disorders so pleeeease be careful ladies!

I've been having period type, pains and a tight uncomfortable bump all evening,,wondering if this is the start of something or if I need a huge poo!! Hahaha!! Grin
