The thread has filled up!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Raffertys · 16/06/2015 22:21

Oh and there are posters on the May TTC thread talking about how negative our Feb due in group apparently is. Sad

If any newbie BFP ladies are reading this, please know we are a lovely, supportive and positive bunch and we smother new joiners with hormonal! bloated! nauseous support. Some of the ladies here are dealing with a little raised anxiety (anyone who says they don't in early pregnancy is lying) and using the group to support. That shouldn't put you off; that's what these groups should exist for. If we can't lean on each other through the highs and lows, why would we bother posting?

Peace and love Grin

Mirabal · 16/06/2015 22:37

I'm gonna stick here aswell for time being. Spent most of the day trying to hide the fact that my trousers were undone..... It literally can't be a baby bump yet so might be bloating but I have felt enormous... Just wish I'd realised this and my poor outfit decision before leaving the house. I'm sure half the office now suspect. Has anyone also been quite......trumpy?! The nausea is also creeping up day by day, shredders by the bed at the ready.....must get some travel sickness bands. Hope everyone ok x

Raffertys · 16/06/2015 22:38

Mirabel, I've been in maternity trousers for a week (I'm 7+3, second baby) Blush

Carltonlives · 16/06/2015 22:38

raffertys I completely agree with you. This group is for all the emotions that come along with early pregnancy, including the lows. And we all need to be here to support each other.

I also think, however, that if you are having an anxious feeling day, this thread can be hard reading and I have felt at times like I want to take a step back from it for a few days, and that's ok too. We are all doing whatever we can to get through these early days, and we all deal with these emotions differently.

I would encourage all recent bfp's to join here, and post/read as little or as much as they feel confident too. Love you ladies! X

Mirabal · 16/06/2015 22:38

Shreddies....shredders would be a weird coping strategy (although I'll try anything)

Carltonlives · 16/06/2015 22:40

Can I join the fb group after the 12 week scan please? I'm not sure I feel comfortable giving up my anonymity when literally no one in real life knows! Once I have announced, I'm there!! Smile

Mirabal · 16/06/2015 22:42

Thanks raffertys I'm only 4+4 though! I know often people show sooner with second but that feels a stretch (literally) too far

Brummiegirl15 · 16/06/2015 22:58

Rafferty that is a little bit unfair of the May TTC thread. There are ladies on this thread who are quite rightly nervous. Myself included, yourself included and others who perhaps have never been through pregnancy and they don't know what to expect.

Pregnancy is full of ups and downs and it's good we are in a group where everyone is experiencing everything - at the same time.

And nobody has any right to criticise anyone else for their fears

Ooh that has made me really angry!!! Angry

Mumof1sofar · 16/06/2015 23:05

Raffertys - nicely put. Smile

Mirabal - I am also soo bloated already. There's no way this baby is only the size of a poppy seed haha! Blush

Mumof1sofar · 16/06/2015 23:07

.... Goes off to check what the may ttc lot have been saying....

Carltonlives · 16/06/2015 23:16

No one said anything horrible about anyone here, just that it's sometimes hard to read negative things about pregnancy when you feel in a anxious place. Nothing wrong with feeling that way! I don't for one minute believe that people shouldn't talk about their losses or their fears on here, it's what it's for after all!!

NoMontagues · 16/06/2015 23:45

Bloody hell I can't keep up with this thread! Or threads even.

Absolutely exhausted after a manic day but will try to post something coherent tomorrow.

I'll be sticking on here for the time being too. I'm not a massive fb fan!

RattyCatty · 17/06/2015 06:57

Well said raffertys I have found this thread incredibly reassuring. It's helpful to know that others have the same worries and tbh before being pregnant I had no idea how common problems and mc were so knowledge is a good thing in my opinion.

Happy Wednesday ladies! It's a beautiful day in London!

Mumof1sofar · 17/06/2015 07:12

So does anyone else feel like they are showing already? I am struggling to keep my top button done up! It's all bloat! Confused

I also kept getting pins & needles in my hand overnight - think I've got carpal tunnel again- I had it last pregnancy then it disappeared after the birth.

How's everyone else doing this morning?Smile

haquoi123 · 17/06/2015 07:16

Eurgh Envy anyone else feeling non - stop nausea until they sleep? It's relentless! Don't really know what to do with myself - no vomiting as of yet, just nausea.

Mumof1sofar · 17/06/2015 07:17

Btw I can't remember who did the spreadsheet but I LOVE the column that tells us how far gone we are! Great idea Smile

jellypi3 · 17/06/2015 08:00

Thanks mum I stole it from the js'ers AN thread so can't take credit :)

The hormones have hit me today, feeling very down this morning.

jellypi3 · 17/06/2015 08:01

I'll try not to post anything whilst feeling down so as not to upset the folks on the May thread Hmm

Carltonlives · 17/06/2015 08:10

I apologise if my comments on the May thread have upset of offended anyone, that really wasn't my intention. I have tried to explain myself, but obviously not done a very good job of it if posters feel they can't post when they are feeling down. I really don't want to make anyone feel they can't say whatever they want to. I'm sorry girls Flowers

Jelly, what's up?

rallytog1 · 17/06/2015 08:16

I can't believe anyone thinks we're negative. This is a fantastic, supportive, friendly thread. Yes, there's been a bit of straight talking at times, but I find that a good thing.

Welcome new people. There have been about 250 new posts since I last checked in, so will need to read back and see who you all are.

rallytog1 · 17/06/2015 08:17

Don't think you have anything to apologise for Carlton!

Brummiegirl15 · 17/06/2015 08:35

Mum I'm finding that I have to undo my jeans towards the end of the day

And Haquoi I felt dreadful until I went to sleep last night. Was lying in bed feeling so sick

My injection site is stinging this morning Confused

NoMontagues · 17/06/2015 08:36

I am dog tired. The first weeks of pregnancy are probably not the best time to start working again after a 10 month break! the only saving grace is working from home.

I've managed to find a part-time childminder for the summer, she's starting next week so that should help. Worrying a bit about how DS will get on with her as he has a touch of separation anxiety at the best of times but I'm sure he'll adjust.

Symptoms are slowly but surely establishing themselves. No vomiting still, but waves of nausea coming and going. No real appetite, except for junk. Boobs are not too bad but I'm more aware of them so I think they've grown a bit. I also have a mini bump Confused Can only wear leggings as jeans cut in badly! My sister has all my maternity clothes (she has 4mo) so I can't get them until after 12 weeks or she'll want to know why!

Am 7+5 today afaik.

SmashleyHop · 17/06/2015 09:02

Twins I Pm'd you about the FB group as well.

Been to see my GP about prenatal vitamins and possibly getting anti nausea meds early on until I get into the midwives. Nope. Shot down on that front. He told me to try the sea-bands (some kind of pressure point wrist band to help with motion sickness) So fingers crossed I don't get ill soon.

Other than that I feel hungry all the time. It's like if I'm not completely full I feel starving. Worked really hard to lose 30 pounds before I got pregnant. Really didn't want to pile it all back on this early!

haquoi123 · 17/06/2015 09:23

smashley I can't believe your doctor shot you down! Not like he has to go through it! I'm thinking of trying to get mens as well, I'm self employed so don't get sick pay if I can't work. I tried the travel sickness bands last time, which worked for a while, but gave them up after vomiting in a car with them on (incidentally, not my car! :s)
