*meds, stupid auto correct

SmashleyHop · 17/06/2015 09:31

I know haquoi- To be fair, he's not my regular GP and the meds I received before was Zofran which is normally given to cancer patients. However, it's the only thing that kept me out of the hospital with my last two pregnancies after being hospitalized with my first.

I'm just hoping I can hold out till I see my Midwife next week.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 17/06/2015 09:32

It's a strange shift in outlook from TTC to getting a BFP. After nearly 2 years of trying I thought I'd be ecstatic to get a BFP. And I was but then pretty quickly the worries started, I hadn't properly realised that after the 2WW comes the 8WW which though a lovely time is also a bit daunting, it's nice to have you lot to share my feelings with.

ION I went round to my besties last night and managed not to tell her my news even when she asked if I had exciting news because I refused a glass of wine - I'm usually rubbish at keeping secrets but I'm loving the fact that DP and I have this special secret at the moment and no-one else IRL knows.

haquoi123 · 17/06/2015 10:33

That sounds horrendous smashley, I've got my fingers crossed for you.

Your right zebras, finally getting the bfp leads to a whole host of other worries.

Marsaday · 17/06/2015 10:36

Morning ladies.
Cant remember who said what, but yes to being hungry all the time.
Also just been sick in loo at work at end of a lesson, thank god i wasnt teaching the next period as i look rough.

Stepawayfromthezebras · 17/06/2015 10:43

Oh Marsaday that sounds grim Flowers

Who was saying about the vivid dreams? I had an ace one last night - I had an amazing, really strong G&T - it tasted fab! Grin

Carltonlives · 17/06/2015 11:10

Can anyone else smell everything?!

I kept scrubbing different pieces of my furniture last night because I was convinced it smelt bad Confused

AbFab86 · 17/06/2015 11:11

Anyone else feeling particularly....brimming full of rage?! I've been sleeping really well recently but the cats woke me up last night, my blood sugar went low (diabetic), then work has been having one of its 'couldn't organise a pissup in a brewery' sort of days and I literally want to smash every adult's head that I talk to into a wall. AngryAngryAngry

Other than that, I feel fine! Grin

RattyCatty · 17/06/2015 11:48

I feel seriously rough today. Grateful to have some symptoms but just had to lie down in my book corner in the classroom! Woke up at 3am & couldn't get back to sleep... Feel like I've been on a long haul flight!

clarabellski · 17/06/2015 11:48

carlton the kitchen in our office sits above a workshop where they use lots of paints and solvents. It stinks at the best of times but now pregnant I need to hold my breath when I go in there. Also, smell of smoke is yeuch...

The most surprising symptom so far is not missing alcohol (I'm not a lush, honest). The thought of it makes me feel seedy (but then so does most food & drink).

Marsaday · 17/06/2015 11:54

ratty same here, also been awake since 3, also feeling rough. First day i have actually been sick, until now it's just been a yucky nausea.
Oh says it means im.having a girl,as i didnt get sick when pg with a boy. Anyone think there's any truth in that theory?

Marsaday · 17/06/2015 11:55

P.s. ratty what did kids think of you lying in book corner?

MayFlowers16 · 17/06/2015 12:14

It's such a relief to have others with which to share all these symptoms. Yy to nausia, food aversions, heightened sense of smell (burning smells are especially blurgh!), tiredness. Sympathies to all. Roll on the second trimester! Wink

IslaMann · 17/06/2015 12:23

You know what? I'm REALLY pissed off that the May TTC thread have been commenting on our thread. Its natural for those of us who have high risk pregnancies to want to share our worries, and for all of us to be concerned that something may go wrong. That's what an internet forum is for, surely? Yet these TTC ladies, who stress about taking temps, and the consistency of their CM, seem to think that we have no right to have our own worries. How dare they? Bloody hypocrites.

I'm tending to agree with you Isla. I think Zebra summed it up perfectly when she described our 8 week wait. It's four times as long as the tww and once the elation of the bfp subsides, it's natural to have these worries. Without this thread I would feel very isolated as we have told very few people yet so you guys are pretty much all I've got right now.
Let's all 'live and let live' a little hey?

MayFlowers16 · 17/06/2015 12:31

Urgh, yes the kitchen bin Mayor.

birdbrain21 · 17/06/2015 12:35

Just got back from first midwife appointment, bit annoying I thought it was going to be a proper booking in appointment but actually was just to register my pregnancy Hmm and I know have to wait for a letter with a proper booking in appointment. She reckoned I was 8+1 today, I thought I was only 7 and my dd was late which is why I joined in here not January, don't want to move now that I feel I've got to know you so just hope this one is a bit late as well. Hope they send my appointment through soon as I really want to be booked in have a scan and be able to tell everyone.
I feel sooo tired today, slept in for an hour this morning and would love to go back to bed now. Remember last time we went on holiday at 8 weeks and I spent most of the time asleep on the beach so guess this is normal for this gestation. Really can't be bothered to go teach now! Have a good afternoon everyone

StockingFullOfCoal · 17/06/2015 12:41

My sense of smell is through the roof. Everything stinks to me!

My stomach has popped out, on the one hand its pregnancy #7 and hopefully full term baby #4 so I suppose I should expect it and I'm not really bothered, I am a stone heavier than I was with DC3/PG5. But I also am bothered. Water retention is ridiculous. None of my jeans or trousers fit me already Sad

SO the obvious solution was to do some online clothes shopping Grin Ordered myself two midi dresses from New Look (plain grey and plain coral, tshirt material), 2 maternity sleep bras because my boobs are massive, sore and hurt when hanging free at night. Also some maternity jeans from h&m.

twinsandapenguin · 17/06/2015 13:00

Carlton - my sense of smell is like that of a blood hound, it is one of those undeniable early pregnancy symptoms. That and the horrible metallic taste in my mouth, luckily that has gone now.

Mumof1 - I saw my GP this morning and she filled out the free prescription form for me. So I think we are eligible from the start.

Super busy day so far. Today is my day off work (I work part time) and I am ready to collapse in a heap now

stocking h&m do the best maternity leggings! I went through so many in my last pg and they were by far the best, they stayed up, were stretchy enough and seamfree along the front - others I tried had a big deal straight up the middle which was very obvious and showed through lots of tops with a big bump Smile

Carltonlives · 17/06/2015 13:02

Thanks twins Smile

Brummiegirl15 · 17/06/2015 13:04

Isla I completely get where you are coming from, hence my angry post last night.

It's a very isolating time at the moment and we need each other and people need to be able to share their fears and their daft questions and TMI updates!

purdiepie · 17/06/2015 13:06

Isla, do you mean they don't want preggos moaning about their lot on a ttc thread? If so, I have to agree with them; that's what this thread is for, no? Yes, yes, though, to us 43 yr-olds having crazy worries of our own. Despite having been prescribed Cyclizine yesterday for my nausea I am really scared of next week's scan and am praying hard.
