Charlotte, well done you for arranging a scan. I'm sorry for shouting at you as though I'm your mum, but I oddly have a soft spot for you, despite your being barking mad. On a serious note, I know the all-consuming terror of irrational thoughts; they are stultifying in nature and need to be stopped. What time is your scan?
P.a..morphology is such an unreliable marker of pregnancy health. Clearly one of your fella's non-Elephant Man sperms got through and beat all the odds Smile

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 21/06/2015 13:29

Hello everyone! I'd love to join if I may? I got my BFP a few days ago...I have a lg of 13 months, and live in north London. Haven't got a scan date or booking in appointment sorted yet, but hopefully get letter next week. I alternate between massive excitement and being petrified of something going wrong/how I'm going to cope with two. But basically yay.

purdiepie · 21/06/2015 13:57

Welcome Teddy! I have a daughter of 15 months. We must be tapped.

Brummiegirl15 · 21/06/2015 14:08

Charlotte they'll book you ASAP for your 12 wk. under my hospital if you are late getting referred the midwife actually rings you and sorts your scan/ appt for immediately

bopoityboo3 · 21/06/2015 16:23

Hello Teddy I've got a DS of 14 months the two under two thing is going to be fine. Well that's what i keep telling myself it's my mantra at the moment.

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 21/06/2015 16:32

Thanks for welcome! Yes "it'll aaaaaaaaall be fine" is my catchphrase right now...

WouldRatherHaveCake · 21/06/2015 16:35

Hi teddy! Good to know there are others who will have 2 under 2, hopefully we can all keep in touch and keep each other sane, my DS is 13 months.

Is anyone else due late Feb? I feel.so far behind you lot!

TeddyRuxpinsSmile · 21/06/2015 16:37

Me! Am due 27th feb.

Nectarines · 21/06/2015 16:47

Type 1 diabetic here!
6 weeks today.
I've got a 20 month old and when pg with her I had to majorly increase my insulin from about 5 weeks. This time it's gone up but only a little.

I've been to preconception clinics with my diabetes team but am yet to contact them about this pregnancy. I've had bleeding and am waiting to see if things are ok. I had a scan last week but only sac there so back on 1st July hopefully to see baby.

I've had two miscarriages in the past so am aware it could go either way.

In limbo a bit at the moment. I feel like I just want to know NOW!!

WouldRatherHaveCake · 21/06/2015 16:50

Ahh teddy you're still ahead of me! Most say 28th but a couple have said 29th!

AbFab86 · 21/06/2015 16:52

Just after a bit of reassurance. For the past couple of days I've had some pretty mild spotting. It's brown blood, so I'm thinking it's old blood. I haven't had any cramping since early last week but I've had the odd niggle. No actual pain. I haven't had any morning sickness but as of last Wednesday my hcg levels were rising well.

Old blood is fine yes? I'm not really a worrier but it's disconcerting seeing any sort of blood. Im 5+4.

haquoi123 · 21/06/2015 17:23

abfab I've had brown spotting for the last 2 weeks, started around the same time as yours. I think it's fine, as long as it's not red or clotting. If you're worried ring the midwife but most of the time it's normal

purdiepie · 21/06/2015 17:50

Has anyone here not had a single episode of spotting? I haven't had any and yet I'm beginning to feel it's not normal.

AbFab86 · 21/06/2015 17:51

Thanks haquoi. I've heard it's quite common but it's still worrying isn't it? I'm booked in for my first appointment with the obstetrician a week tomorrow and will probably get an early scan too (clomid baby and type 1 diabetic so being watched like a hawk) so just got to get through this week before I'll hopefully get some insight.

Hope your spotting clears up soon.

StockingFullOfCoal · 21/06/2015 17:56

purdie No spotting or bleeding or cramping here.

Marsaday · 21/06/2015 17:58

abfab lots of people spot brown and it's nothing to worry about. I bled brown at 8 Weeks with ds and he came out fine. I also had some brown and some red spotting every day for a week at 5 weeks with this pg, and im now 7.5 weeks.i assume my hcg is still rising as ive started being sick.

nauseous people you have days of being really grotty and days of being basically fine? Yesterday felt pants for most of the day so bought some travel sickness wrist bands. Have been wearing those all day and have felt fine. But, not sure whether to put this down to the bands, or if it could just have been a better day anyway?

purdiepie · 21/06/2015 17:58

Thanks, Stocking.

haquoi123 · 21/06/2015 17:58

Thanks abfab. I started sorting just after an early scan (just a sec at that point) and I would have thought it would have shown a breakdown of something d going wrong. It's been on and off since, but I have another scan already scheduled on Friday to see. Fx for you!

rallytog1 · 21/06/2015 18:00

purdie I haven't either and didn't last time. Both times it has felt like I'm in a minority!

haquoi123 · 21/06/2015 18:02

marsaday, today had been my least sick-y day, but I've literally been lying in bed for the past 5 days non stop - it's the only thing that helps. If things continue like today I might just be able to work tomorrow! But I'm less vomity and more incapacitated by the nausea. Maybe the bands are working?

bopoityboo3 · 21/06/2015 18:22

purdie no spotting here and didn't have any with DD or DS either. Didn't realise how common it was until this thread.

Marsaday · 21/06/2015 18:27

Thanks haquoi . I've only been sick 3 times in total, like you it's the nausea that it awful. I almost want to be sick as it feels like I'd feel better afterwards. Had a horrible day weds ( puked twice at work) mostly fine thurs, friday ok all day then rubbish in the evening , couldn't eat dinner. It does seem pretty up and down even before the bands when i write it like that!

Brummiegirl15 · 21/06/2015 18:35

Purdie I've had nothing, not a dot!!!

NoMontagues · 21/06/2015 18:36

I haven't had any spotting to date, either.

I'm away for a mum-and-daughter bonding night with DD, about 2 hours away from home. This was booked since before I found out I was pg, I had tentatively suggested to DD (who doesn't know yet) that we could postpone the trip but that was not a go-er. Didn't really want to leave DS or do the drive but off we went anyway.

Didn't we only get a fecking flat tyre on the motorway I'm crap at changing a tyre at the best of times, but this is a new (to me) car and I hadn't a notion how to get the tyre off. Rang DH and he said no way, not in your condition. Then I was just on the phone to the breakdown service when this absolute angel of a man stopped and changed the tyre for me. He then escorted me to the nearest garage to check the pressure on the spare. What an absolute gent, I couldn't believe it.

Raffertys · 21/06/2015 18:45

I've not had any spotting. Thank god.

Don't worry about it not feeling normal, Purdie. Trust me, that's a much better feeling than the heart-stopping moment you see blood on the bog roll.

I had brown discharge with DS at 7 weeks, which turned out to be a bit of nothing. Hence when I had some brown discharge at the same time with my second pregnancy, I didn't panic. Until it turned into full blown bleeding. I get really upset when I see ladies being reassured with the statement 'Brown blood is old blood, don't worry!' because it may well be, but it may also be a sign of other things. It still needs to be checked out. Sorry for the micro-rant.

I'm immensely grateful that I haven't seen anything untoward with this one. Still shitting myself about my scan tomorrow though.
