Mars I'm also the same; so much better after a puke. It's normally in the evening my body gives up and just needs to be sick, but today it was lunchtime and I felt much brighter this afternoon as a result. It's making its evening return now, however.

Has everyone had a good weekend? We had the in laws over for a BBQ. DH did steak; I just couldn't stomach it. Fuck, I miss steak.

LazyRohazy · 21/06/2015 18:55

I've never had any spotting with any of my pregnancies (good or bad)! I think I'm just not a spotter.

Rufus200 · 21/06/2015 18:57

Seeing as absolutely nothing can be done if you are having a bleed I don't think that it is very helpful saying it needs checking out! It will reassure you that your bean is still in there but only for that day. I think there is nothing wrong with reassurance that lots of ladies are spotting!!! I've had 7 episodes of spotting!

AbFab86 · 21/06/2015 19:04

Rufus you were the person I was thinking about earlier when I was talking to DH about it. So pleased your scan was good after the worry of bleeding Smile

Raffertys · 21/06/2015 19:08

Rufus was that at me?

If so, there is nothing wrong with reassurance at all! Totally agree with that and didn't say anything to the contrary. What gets me is people (not on our thread, I must add) telling people to ignore brown blood. 'Tis all.

Scans are indeed great, but only for the few minutes you see the wee bean as you say. But they can rule out nasties such as ectopic in the early stages so for that reason, getting things 'checked out' never hurts.

Peace Flowers

twinsandapenguin · 21/06/2015 19:17

so much chat! It has been a busy weekend with not much time to check in. Goulash I was so sorry to hear your news. I saw the GP this week and she put my due date as the 9th February, I will be 8 weeks next week and then we are planning a scan the following week, I am just too impatient to wait for 12 weeks which still seems like an eon away.

No spotting for me either. The nausea comes and goes. Generally I'm fine in the morning, but pretty bad by lunch and afternoon is horrendous. Evenings aren't too bad. I haven't actually been sick yet, just feeling icky and retching. Lovely!

Rufus200 · 21/06/2015 19:37

Sorry Rafferty but was very distressed by what happened to Goulash and it is all just a bit raw at the moment! No one on here wants to lose their bean and being told that spotting turned into a miscarriage when so many of us are spotting, it is simply upsetting! Trying to be positive and think forward not negatively. I had a very bumpy journey to get here and don't want to start that journey again.

My Dr did say that once a heart beat has been seen on scan the risk of mc goes down to 2% even if you are only 6w!

From a physiological point of view (I'm a vet and all our early lectures where actually human based) the uterus is a very vascular structure and we are the only species to create a shed able lining to support pregnancy. It makes complete sense that as an embryo burrows/ placenta grows into the lining that some of the lining falls away!

twinsandapenguin · 21/06/2015 19:37

The nausea has largely gone away for me now. I am just so tired. Inexplicably tired, like I just can't be bothered with anything and I might just die from tiredness. Anyone else? It does lift a little in the evenings at the moment.

I clearly mean indescribably not inexplicably

Hello! New to the site, and due my first on 4th Feb. It's all very scary and exciting, not had my booking appointment through yet but my GP diagnosed a UTI after our first appointment - never had one before so surely this isn't good? Confused

Mumof1sofar · 21/06/2015 19:44

Purdie no spotting for me either with dd1 or so far with this little bean.

Well I'm 5 weeks along my sickness has completely gone. I have got nasty diaorreah though Confused

Hope everyone enjoyed Father's Day Smile This time next year we will all be celebrating it with our little babies! Smile

Mumof1sofar · 21/06/2015 19:46

Twins I have also been suffering fr

Raffertys · 21/06/2015 19:46

Sorry rufus that really wasn't my intention. I too have had a very bumpy journey and we're all here to support each other and talk about those journeys as well as hold hands through our ups and downs. Please note I did also share my positive spotting outcome...who is now snoring upstairs.

Sometimes the Internet really is the worst enemy of the pregnant woman.

Mumof1sofar · 21/06/2015 19:49

Agh dd just posted too early! For someone aged 13mo she's pretty nifty with an iPhone! Wink

Was going to say yes to awful tiredness!

Betty5714 · 21/06/2015 21:02

Welcome teddy, nectarines, lazy and kpatz. Its lovely to see new names.

Charlotte fx and thinking of you for your scan tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

rufus nice to know your dr told you the risk of mc lowers so much after a hb is present. And interesting to know the physiological stuff, i love a bit if science! Aren't human (and non-human) bodies amazing.

elephantfeet · 21/06/2015 21:35

I am still pretty symptom free and no spotting at all here. DP announced this morning that my nipples are huge so that's something I suppose!

Rufus I am very reassured by what your doctor said about the risk going down to 2% after seeing a heartbeat. That's kind of what I wanted to hear when I was asking about risk! I'm still not sure how many weeks I am but I have guesstimated that I am 8 weeks ish now and saw the heartbeat at the scan a week and a half ago. Time has slowed right down while I'm waiting for my booking in appt which is 2 weeks tomorrow.

I have a phone app called my baby's beat that is supposed to hear a heartbeat but in the last trimester so it's going to be a while before I can use that! Currently although I can convince myself I can hear it, it makes a very similar sound on DPs belly!

RattyCatty · 21/06/2015 21:35

Good luck tomorrow charlotte

Bosabosa · 21/06/2015 21:36

Purdie- no spotting here

Raff- lovely weekend- told parents as they asked outright and I looked green- very excited for me but trying not to be as it is early days.

I have started wearing travel sickness bands all the time and they seem to take the edge off the nAusea- long mAy that continue!

We Are thinking of telling DH's children on tuesdAy- they are clever kids and soon they will either guess I am pregnant or think I am dying and so we think we better tell them! I have a private appt on tuesdAy with the fertility doctor (we paid for a month of cycle monitoring) and this is the last appt so I am hoping I get a scan out of it and maybe see something !!! Might be a touch too early but here's hoping.

Welcome new ladies!

purdiepie · 21/06/2015 21:41

Thanks for sharing, all. When I was pregnant naturally at 40 I had nothing until a touch of brown blood at 11 wks. When I went for the scan they told me there was no baby, just a blighted ovum, a fully-formed placenta and a correctly-sized sac. Devastation doesn't cover it.

However, I never had any of this sickness or nausea. I just feel pregnant, but I can say that because this is my second. I also am clinging - probably irrationally - to the memory of the surgeon at Nancy's birth desperately yanking at the remains of my retained placenta. That bastard just did not want to come out. Let's hope my womb lining is as stubborn Grin

Those of you vomiting and suffering evilly with nausea: why aren't you on medication?

I'd love a home birth but if labour is owt like last time I simply wouldn't cope. Like trying to shit a wildebeest out of your fanny.

peggysue82 · 21/06/2015 22:03

Hi to all the new ladies joining us. Grin

Got my first appt with the midwife on 6th so guess I can discuss it with her then. The thought of a home birth absolutely terrifies me though Shock I only had G&A with DS2 but I want to be in hospital where I know an epidural is at least an option if I decide I want it. Everyone I speak to keeps telling me that 3rd births are the most difficult and it's scaring the living daylights out of me.

raviolig · 21/06/2015 22:16

Evening everyone.
Welcome newbies xx
I am really tired too, just knackered all the time. I have not felt so shattered in such a long time.
Feeling nervous, these early days seem to take so long.
Just realised I will have my 12 week scan during the summer holidays. They don't like you taking kids at our hospital. Need to get the appointment first though!
