OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
RattyCatty · 19/06/2015 18:56

lily hope you are ok, fingers crossed for you. Flowers

charlotte I'm glad you're feeling more positive! An early scan won't cause any bleeding, it doesn't go in very far at all!

goodnightmush · 19/06/2015 18:59

Fingers and toes and everything else crossed for you lilyFlowers

Raffertys · 19/06/2015 19:12

When you choose what to eat for dinner on the basis of what it will taste like when it inevitable comes back up again Envy

Brummiegirl15 · 19/06/2015 19:25

Charlotte really pleased you are feeling sick.

Trust me you've got plenty of time to feel as rough as houses

bopoityboo3 · 19/06/2015 19:26

oh raffertys that sucks. I'm going with the carbs and more carbs option please, and no garlic. Just the thought of it makes me want to throw up.

Raffertys · 19/06/2015 19:29

All of my food is beige, bop

Eating gives a few minutes relief, then it's back to the constant nausea.

firsttimenewbie · 19/06/2015 19:38

Ah no raffetys not much fun at all!

I am just on my way back from a 2 day conference. So shattered. Hated being the boring one going to bed early without being able to tell everyone why. Avoided drinking issues by pretending my cokes and sodas had alcohol in them. Although did have to 'drink' a glass of prosecco by taking sips and spitting it into my coke. Did NOT enjoy that.

bopoityboo3 · 19/06/2015 19:43

My nausea isn't too bad (yet) but eating helps. Little but often seems to do the trick. The girls at work are so going to work it out before I get to the 12 week mark as I normally eat very little and only at lunch time.

elephantfeet · 19/06/2015 19:44

Congratulations on all the lovely scan pictures Smile

Lily I hope everything is ok.

Charlotte I am pleased you feel sick too!

I had a rather embarrassing moment today where I was visiting a client and her baby and almost fainted...she was very confused and I wasn't really sure what was going on! Still not feeling great now, feel exhausted and got a proper headache but have filled myself up with sugar and planning an early night!

Marsaday · 19/06/2015 19:50

lily keeping fingers crossed for you. Hoping you are not too stressed having to wait until Monday .
maternity leggings can't remember who asked, but i just bought primark leggings in size 20 (normally 14) and wore them under bump. Weirdly the legs don't seem much bigger.
I have just discovered something awful. Sad i have a slight prolapse as a result of ds1 rushing out at speed , and now when i retch violently i leak a bit. Blush Between spending friday evening puking and discovering that im not feeling great. Sad

But today i am pregnant and there's a little beany brother or sister for ds tucked up inside, so that's all good. Smile

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 20:06

Lily, bless you Thanks

Charlotte! You minx, you. You're more pregnant than any of us. Great news you feel sick!

Smashley, I loved my Next maternity leggings.

My Cyclizine doesn't work any more. The nausea is revolting.

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 20:08

Blue, thanks for the mc link. Am I right in thinking that chart doesn't take into account maternal age? Actually that's pretty obvious, isn't it. Still nice to look at though.

monkerina · 19/06/2015 20:14

Lily, fingers are very tightly crossed x

Purdie, can we have a metaphor for how your mouth tastes now please? And you might like to look at this for studies into miscarriage vs maternal age, miscarriage vs previous losses etc...

Bluenewbie · 19/06/2015 20:17

purdie i just followed someone's recommendation to the statistics and found this chart.
It probably doesn't take age under account. What is important is that around 8 week it declines rapidly for all of us. Let's focus on it :)

stick on beans!
Lily , Goulash thinking of you girls and keeping everything crossed for good news over the weekend. [hugs]

Have a good night ladies and speak to you on Monday probably, as I'm off to London for my brother's 40th b'day where I'll need to lie a lot..

Good weekend to all! Flowers

Bluenewbie · 19/06/2015 20:18

Purdie don't look at other links!!! stay away from google as well Angry

I leave quickly to avoid another nausea triggering metaphor of yours ;)

birdbrain21 · 19/06/2015 20:18

I'm feeling totally whacked this evening, probably because I know I overdid it today. Congrats to all the other ladies who have passed 8 weeks and thanks to whoever pointed out it was a milestone, last time I had no idea.

This thread moves so fast but welcome also to the new ladies Smile

Still waiting for my letter with appointment/scan dates to arrive. I've never checked the post so religiously before.

Sounds like a few people are really struggling at work. I've been lucky to be okay so far, always feel awful in the morning and evening but managing afternoons when I teach, although I've been spending a lot of the lesson sitting down which makes it hard to teach properly Hmm. Apart from teachers (which I know there's quite a few of us) can't help wondering what other careers we have on here just me being nosy anyone fancy sharing more info?

Mirabal · 19/06/2015 20:36

hacquoi have you considered asking the doctor for meds? I have phenargan and metocholpromide for when puking kicks in, had all way through last pregnancy. I don't think you should suffer when these meds have been used for years safely in pregnancy , especially if it is making life unworkable x

WouldRatherHaveWine · 19/06/2015 21:00

Hello all, can I join you?! Very hesitant as I'm only a little bit pregnant and will be sneaking in on the very end of Feb

RattyCatty · 19/06/2015 21:19

wouldratherhavewine love the name & big welcome to you & other newbies Smile

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 21:29

My mouth tastes like it's been harbouring a prison escapee who has spent the past week hiding in sewage tanks.

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 21:32

Welcome Wine.

goodnightmush · 19/06/2015 22:07

Oh dear purdie I'm laughing at your imagery but sounds like not a lot of fun for you!

Charlotte, I'm so glad to come back to this group hearing that you're doing so well. How are you feeling about it now?

Marsaday you made me laugh too (appreciate you probably don't feel like laughing when it happens) - will these kids ever know what basic bodily functions we've sacrificed for them?! How fast was your first labour? Maybe we can start a Champagne Cork birth club together as mine was v speedy too (basically have to have a home birth or early induction this time round)

purdiepie · 19/06/2015 22:09

Blue, I don't need to go to Google to know that the mc rate for my age is 50%.

rallytog1 · 19/06/2015 22:17

Your risk is a lot lower than that by now though purdie. I'm sure you already know that. I'd imagine the shape of the curve is similar at all ages, even if the bare numbers are a bit higher the older you are.

Marsaday · 19/06/2015 22:30

goodnight had no contractions until waters broke. From moment waters broke contractions were 3 in 10 mins. Total time about 45 mins. Accidental home birth! My body did the pushing all on its own as i was trying to not push so that OH wouldn't have to deliver before paramedics arrived. They arrived as head was crowning, 2 actual pushes and job done.
I will probs also have a home birth, probs be paramedics again as im not sure how fast the midwives can get to you if its the middle of the night.
