oh sorry missmartin - yes will be having a boy! Grin We have two girls, and we really wanted a boy so it's extra exciting, I guess.

We're in Oz, so cost was $500 but prob not helpful for you fairy sorry ... I think a couple of posters here have had it done in the UK though and someone could answer this?

fishermanswife1 · 25/06/2015 09:38

Hooray coffee! That's so exciting!!! Big relief I'm sure and so real now you know gender. The first of us to know! Are you going to tell your DS's?

And good for you b&w. Kick ass this morning!

fourlegstwolegs · 25/06/2015 09:45

Congrats Coffee! My consultant said he couldn't recommend Harmony highly enough, given my advancing years (40 isn't a long way off!) so I will be scraping together the cash for it. £475 where I am.

BlueEspoir · 25/06/2015 09:56

Wow coffee - congratulations! Great news! How lovely that your DDs will have a little brother! Can't believe you know already. We're still planning not to find out - January seems like a very long time to wait to find out which team I'm in! Smile

kep will keep everything crossed for your friend's little boy.

crumble74 · 25/06/2015 10:01

Wooohooo coffee!!! That's brilliant news! So exciting.

Can't wait to get my Harmony results but my sample is probably only half way across the Atlantic by now.

teenie Do you think we could have an extra column with blue, pink and don't (wanna) know? Pretty please? Cake Brew

kep1979 · 25/06/2015 10:12

Yay coffee - congratulations Smile. I keep alternating between nerves and excitement when thinking about the results - but it has only been 3 days so another 11ish to wait!

No news from my friend this morning - I don't want to bother her, but at the same time want her to know I am thinking about her.

Having a properly shite day at work already - I am VERY hormonal and ragey today!

TeenieDeenie · 25/06/2015 10:13

Morning all!

MissMartin I am due the 28th Grin Yay for the 9 weekers!

Mrschatty Your post made me laugh, so I've got that to look forward to? Grin Glad your feeling better though, I'll be hoping at 11 weeks things are starting to get better, not worse!

Thanks Black Glad you are feeling chirpier and more positive this morning, fuck em!

Ahhhh Coffee how lovely!!!! That's one for Team Blue, I'll have to add another column to the stats I think! Smile

MissMartin10 · 25/06/2015 10:18

MissMartin10 · 25/06/2015 10:23

toilet* not sink lol

Joey0805 · 25/06/2015 10:54

Coffee yay!!! So thrilled for you! I don't get mint harmony results for another 8 days, can't wait now! But off for my Nuchal scan in an hour...

Frozen - did they give you any numbers to help with the decision whether to do Harmony (or CVS etc)? Even a higher risk still means you are far more than likely to be fine but thinking of you while you go through the next couple of weeks xxx

babybabynamechange · 25/06/2015 11:03

Just coming out the other side of the longest 24hrs ever. Caught a stomach bug and have had SEVERE d&V, thankfully lasted less than 24hrs but was awful. Having to feed/change/care for my toddler nearly made me faint :( As I started to recover it was really hard to separate the sickness bug from my general morning sickness - the ms means I need to eat regularly but the sickness bug meant I didn't want to eat at all, very difficult to balance. Today I'm much much better, stomach still very delicate and can only bring myself to eat very simple, plain foods but about a million times better than this time yesterday. URGH!

coffeenut · 25/06/2015 11:19

Fairy, joey has reminded me of your post about your nt scan. I have everything crossed that your bloods put you back in the low risk range. Sending you positive vibes.

Good luck for today too joey Smile, I hope it all goes well.

BeeMyBaby · 25/06/2015 11:32

Just had my booking in appointment (2 hours!)- interestingly enough even though I declined the Nuchal test for my scan, the mw said the Sonographer will measure it anyway and if it's very high they will tell me as its their duty... Therefore almost reassuring if they don't say anything at all.

SleepyDragon · 25/06/2015 11:41

awwww congrats coffee thats lovely news!!! Grin

I am 11 weeks today and my god do i feel sick! (where's the vomit icon!) still no actually vomiting but churning and heaving like mad and trying to hide it from colleagues.

mrschatty · 25/06/2015 11:42

Aww we have our first confirmation of a team blue member congratulations coffee
Teenie glad it gave you a giggle...I do hope your out of the ms woods now though
I'm also having a blinking cap day at work dealing with loads of disgruntled clients for some reason today...
Started a book last night called 'tressa' it's about one of the UKs youngest mums...poor girl was 12 when she had a baby girl. The media were quick to judge but starting to read her story she was such a victim of poverty and circumstance and was being sexually abused by many men by the age of 9. I look at everything I have and was so grateful that poor girl...can't wait to read the next bit tonight!

fishermanswife1 · 25/06/2015 11:55

Oh babybaby that sounds awful! Glad you're coming through it and well done!

Good luck to everyone having scans today.

I must not eat this entire packet of fig rolls.... No no no Blush

Bluenewbie · 25/06/2015 11:57

Coffee congratulations! and sending good wishes to your friend's son Flowers

I can't believe Harmony is not part of NHS yet. surely they could swap their nuchal + blood for one blood DNA test. They could ask for some payment for it from us and if someone can't afford it they could do the regular screening. ehh
what about NIFTY test? I heard it's even more accurate! I think I would consider it I will turn out to be in high risk (1st PG, 37y.o)

I'm off to my booking in appt. I will try to convince this MW to send me to an early (?9weeks?) scan, since I've got a discharge for a month now with one episode of clot/tissue in it.

take care ladies!

Lookingforadvice123 · 25/06/2015 13:44

Congrats on a boy coffee! I'm convinced mine is too.

So all was well at 12 week scan! I was ahead 2 days so 12+5, new due date 2nd jan! NT measurement which I was worried about, highest measurement was 1.9mm, lowest was 1.6mm (she took four in total). That's ok isn't it? A friend's was only 1mm which sounds really low but she was 11+6 so almost a week behind me, it goes up with age doesn't it?

crumble74 · 25/06/2015 13:57

Good news looking, that's a really good result. Mine was 2.0 at 13 weeks. It does go up with gestational age.

Good luck for your scan joey!

MissMartin10 · 25/06/2015 14:28

when i go to my early scan tmra will they tell me how big it is ect or will they just litrally look for a heartbeat ect? Smile

babybabynamechange · 25/06/2015 14:44

When I had my scan at 7 weeks they just measured baby to tell me how far along I was (and showed me heartbeat). When I went back at 8 weeks it was so much clearer and they measured baby and sac to check that the measurements match (for a given gestational age the sac should be a given size) and also measured my ovaries whilst I was they (but that maybe because I have PCOS).

I have my booking appointment tomorrow. Long and not particularly interesting from what I remember last time but a nice chance to ask a few questions - I have lots of questions about twin pregnancy. Its funny because I already know I'm having twins as I go to my booking apt but many/most twin mums will have a booking apt assuming it's a singleton and then find out later :)

spooble · 25/06/2015 15:50

Congratulations Coffee, how exciting!

I was doing so well on not telling anyone about the pregnancy, but I've just arranged for a night out and sleep over with two of my friends for this weekend. They'll know I'm pregnant straight away since I'm usually up for some drinks! To be fair I'd probably tell them if anything went wrong anyway, but I kind of still feel like a fraud. I had a positive pregnancy test 9 weeks ago but no scans or anything since, the concept of a baby still feels very surreal!

Juniper44 · 25/06/2015 15:59

I had my booking appointment this afternoon, and my hospital is trialling something similar to the Harmony test. They said that they'll use the first vial of blood as part of the nuchal screen, and if I'm high risk then the second vile is sent off for in depth analysis. So the NHS is getting there... Just slowly!

Congratulations on the little boy Coffee

fishermanswife1 · 25/06/2015 17:04

Ah juniper Thats fab! It was on the news last week that the nhs want something like harmony to be the norm by 2017, I think it was. Lucky you! Where I'm based they only talk about amnio or cvt. But DH and I said we'd prob try to find some cash for harmony if NT came back high risk, as we'd rather something less invasive.

loveulotslikejellytots · 25/06/2015 17:21

12 week scan went really well! Little one measured 12+5 so my due date has moved to 2nd January. Couldn't believe how much it was wriggling around and kicking it's legs, all the while I can't feel a thing!! Off to tell my grandparents tonight, it's their first great grand child!

DH is ringing his Grandad now although we just worked out that this will be his 26th great grand child!! He's 90 years old has 4 children, 13 Grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson!
